It was a beautiful day out, and the white mare of the Mane 6 felt alone. None of the stallions were good enough to take on a walk in Ponyville. Rarity wished she had that special somepony to share it with. "Rarity!" "In the name of Celestia's mane, Rainbow Dash, don't sneak up on me!" Rarity felt her heart beating fast, but it wasn't from the scare. Her favorite Wonderbolt stood in front of her. Dash was just a trainee, anyways, and Rarity hoped it counted. "Gee, Rarity, why are you so uptight?" "I'm always uptight!" Rarity snapped. Why am I acting like this? Why do I always get nervous around her? I get angry when I'm nervous. Rainbow grinned a sly grin. "I know what's going on." "No you don't, Dash." Rarity said nervously. "You and the others are planning a surprise party, aren't you?" Rarity tried to hide her look of confusion; successfully, she did. Then she grinned. "Yeah, you got me, Rainbow Dash." She decided to poke some fun. "Looks like the party is canceled now." "Aw, what?" Rainbow Dash frowned. "Ah, just kidding. Now, if you excuse me, I need to deliver a dress to Twilight. She has to do a speech in Canterlot." "I can deliver it for you." "No, no, dearie. It's alright. I want to see the surprise on her face." "Come on." "No." "PLEAAASE. I'm so bored." Rainbow Dash gave a face that made Rarity's heart melt. "Awwww... No." "Give it to me. I'm taking it." Rainbow Dash was about to put a muddy hoof on the dress, when Rarity tackled her. They were face to face, and Rarity could tell she was blushing. So was the other pony. Rarity stood up, being on top. "I said no." She said, plainly. "For a fashionista, you got some strength!" Rarity just looked at Dash suspiciously. "LET ME TAKE IT! PPPLLLLLLEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAASSSSSSSEEEEE!" Rainbow moaned. This wasn't the usual Rainbow. This was the last straw. Rarity glared ferociously at the pony, which made her shut up. "Got any other chores?" Rainbow asked, excitedly. "What did you do to Rainbow Dash?" "Well, training is over, skies are clear, my wings hurt from flying, and I'm stuck in Ponyville till I can fly again." "That's your life?" "Scoots is helping Apple Bloom and Applejack, Twilight is busy cleaning, Pinkie Pie... Well... Um..., Fluttershy is helping the critters, and that leaves you. Until I can get back to Cloudsdale." "How long will you be stranded here?" "A few days." Rainbow looked bummed. Rarity's heart filled with compassion. Before she knew what she was doing, she looked at a teary eyed Dash, and pulled her into a hug. That's when Rainbow lost it. "I don't know what I'm gonna do! I'm just an Earth Pony without my wings!" She wailed. "I'm an athlete with my wings, not my legs, though I still go pretty fast though. I don't have a job, Spitfire's going to be furious, and just..." The blue pony choked on a sob. "There,  there, Dashie." Rarity stroked the pony's mane kindly. "You can stay with Sweetie Belle and I. Scootaloo will probably stay over because of it. We can have a fashion party!" Rainbow Dash looked up. "Really?" She croaked, her voice sore from crying. "Of course, dear." Rainbow Dash stood up again, trying to keep the cool act. "Well, it's not like I really cared, but thanks anyways. Once I get flying, we can forget this ever happened." Rarity knew it was an act. Was it? The wingless Dash was different, dependent on others in a good way. The winged Dash was too independent sometimes. The white pony shook her purple mane. "Rarity, do you have any pajamas?" Dash whispered. "I'd thought you'd never ask!" Rarity ran to a closet. "Unicorn... Unicorn... Unicorn... Unicorn.... Earth Pony, although there's no difference except for the horn... ah, here we go! Pegasus!" A sleek outfit sat on a hanger. Rainbow gasped. The old celeste pony would have hated it. But Rainbow Dash was different. "I love it!" "Ah, ah, ah! Wash your hooves." Rarity scolded. "In fact, take a bath." ~~~~~ When the rainbow maned mare stepped out of the bathroom, she had a towel wrapped around her head. "Rarity, can you help?" She asked, gesturing to the red and white striped nightgown. Rarity nodded, and her horn glowed. The mare took the towel off her hair, and slipped the dress on with a bit of magic. Quickly, she made her hair dry. "Sit down, Rainbow. We need to talk."
