Fluttershy in the Sky with Diamonds
A new face
Load Full StoryNext Chapter'This new town is so peaceful. I cant believe nopony else looks for this place. Maybe... maybe they'll like me. So far all the ponies seem really nice, and that DJ Pon-3 or whatever she called herself looked like such a great time. Now i need to find a place to stay. Hopefully there are some good inns, or a barn or something. I can't wait to see what's in store!' Sky said as he enters the center of town.
Sky Writer is a new Pegasus in Ponyville. He's nothing short of a drifter looking for a place to call home. From city to city, village to village, town to town... made of clouds, he's heard of this place called Ponyville. A town of acceptance, virtue, and simplicity. Just the things he needs in his life, other than a good mare of course.
Sky really didn't know anypony, and he wasn't sure how the ponies in this town would take to him. sure he used his size to intimidate folks back in the city, but these were country folk. Even he didn't want to get involved with them. He's heard stories of Ponyville. Its not that he didn't want to cause fear because they would fight back, he didn't do it because ponies from all over tell about how mellow, nice, and more than anything, accepting these simpler ponies were. He couldnt wait to plant his hooves here and make a name for himself, but first he had to figure out where he should go first. maybe he should ask around town.
As he trots down the road with his head down, he sees somepony he must talk to. There was a mare with the most beautiful color coat of yellow, and a pink mane that made him feel like confident enough just to see her.
"H-hi", he said with his quivering voice. "M-my name is Sky Writer. You seem like a really nice pony and I'm new in town. could you help me?"
He smiles as she takes a minute to answer him. He's excited to see that she's going to help him. Maybe life in this town wont be so bad after all.
She goes to answer this very nice stallion behind her. He was very timid about his voice. She has been feeling very confident about herself with the help of her friends, so even having a decent conversation with a normal pony should be good for her. "Actually yes." She takes a deep breath and goes to introduce herself. "Hi my name is Flutt..."
She freezes at the sight of him. Even though she had no idea what to expect, this stallion didnt sound anyhting like he looked. He sounded very astute, polite, and just like a normal pony... but she was wrong. At a closer glance, she notices the stallions stature and she quickly catches herself to look for a way out of this. "o-oh..." This mare sprints for the nearest table and hides as fast as she can.
Sky put out his hoof to try and stop her, but she's quick when she's scared. "But!..." He slowly trots to her table and lifts up the skirt of the table to see her. "Miss... please..." He looks around to see that many other ponies around were staring at him. There was this one sky blue pony with a rainbow colored mane that was giving him a very stern look. He didn't have much time and was hoping this pony would just talk to him.
Everywhere he goes, Cloudsdale, Manehatten, Clotamore, and now Ponyville... 'Somepony, please talk to me...' In his mind Sky fights himself... holding on to his sanity. 'Why.. what did I do wrong... *sniffles* I just want to be friends'. No matter where he went, just from being big, he couldn't find his place, even in this safe haven.
There is no point. She just cowers and keeps saying 'Go away. Please, go' to Sky. He knew this is how the townspeople would react to him. "Well... thanks for... *sobs* n-never-mind. I'll just go find some other-pony to help me find a home. Sorry for scaring you".
Sky lets down the skirt of the table and slowly trots off. His head looks down and the mare hears the drips of water hitting the ground. She pokes her head out to see if its raining, only to find that it was Sky. His tears are running down his face, and she saw the sorrow in his eyes when he looks back. She hurt him, and she knew it.
The yellow pony looks long and hard at him, but he just keeps trotting away. She looks up into the sky to see the light blue pony looking back at her. She's not mad anymore, just concerned for her friend. The pony flew down to see her friend under the table, but all she heard was the yellow one cry out to the stallion flying away. He could barely hear her, but all he heard was 'Leave me. Your so scary and I don't want to see you... Just go.'
"I'm... I'm sorry Sky..." She whimpers as she fly's back to her house, feeling sorry for him, feeling like she should have helped him, feeling like she was very very wrong.
