Hello everypony and thanks for reading my fic! Constructive criticism is welcomed always, and... *sniffle* I don't own MLP. Hasbro does. I own my OC, Lightning Dasher. That's it. So... on with the fic.

"But what if she says no Light?" Spike the Dragon asked in an extremely worried tone to a blue pegasus with a white spiky mane. Said Pegasus merely rolled his eyes and replied, "Trust me, Spike. The chance of that happening? Extremely low. I can tell she'll likely say yes. Just go ask her out to dinner. You're ready, dude." The two had been discussing the usual topic that they had always struck up on a daily basis: Spike getting together with Rarity. For about 2 weeks, Lightning had been teaching Spike the ins and outs of being a gentleco- err... drake. Spike rubbed his forehead, trying to calm his nerves. "Alright... wish me luck." As Spike walked out the door, Lightning also took his leave of the house, going to the skies to clear up the clouds since it was his shift.

Many poor, starving clouds being murdered later...

"Aaand... done!" Lightning finished cleaning the cloudy mess that was the sky just as the sun was going down. Lightning frowned at this, he'd have to go find someplace to sleep soon, he didn't have a true home or a family: He was an orphan. Lightning shook his head. He refused to let and sadness try to cloud his mind, there was no point in moping, all he had to do was find a tree to sleep on. That was the plan, until he heard somedragon shout his name, "Light! She said yes! SHE SAID YES!" Spike was jumping up and down with excitement, and the pegasus couldn't help but be happy for his friend, Spike really loved Rarity, and she was going to start returning his feelings. "Told you so, Spike." Spike gave the stallion a toothy grin, "Hey, why don't you sleep over at the treehouse tonight? Today's a day to celebrate, you know?!" Lightning rubbed his hooves together at the thought, "Well, if Princess Twilight's okay with it... I mean... you know..." Spike chuckled at this, "No worries, and you don't have to be so formal around Twi, Light. You've known her for as long as you've known me, and you know she prefers to be called her name normally!" Lightning smiled sheepishly at the thought of Twilight, he had liked Spike's alicorn sister for a while, but never knew how to approach her on the subject, even more so after she became a princess. "Alright, well let's go. It's getting dark."

At Golden Oaks Library...

"Twi, I'm home, and if it's cool, can Light sleep over?" Spike called out as the two stepped inside the library. The lavender princess stepped out from the study area, smiling, "I would have preferred it if you had told me ahead of time, Spike. But yes, Light can stay over. What's the occasion? You find a new gem?" Spike shook his head furiously, "No, I finally asked Rarity out, and she said yes! I've got a date tomorrow, in fact." At this point, Twilight was giggling at the gloating dragon, "Oh that's nice to hear Spike. I'm happy for you." Lightning stole a glance over at Twilight, but looked away when she returned his glance. "Something going on, Lightning?" Said pegasus blushed and shook his head, "N-no, nothing! Well, I'll be, uh, heading to the guest room now, see you there, Spike!" And with that, Lightning flew upstairs, too embarrassed to try and continue any longer in the conversation. Twilight raised an eyebrow at this, "Ummm, Spike is Lightning okay?" Spike merely facepalmed at his friend's antics, "Yeah it's hard to explain... I'll see you tomorrow, sis. Don't stay up too late." Twilight smiled at her little brother, "Same to you, Spike."

A few minutes later, Spike emerged in the guest room with Lightning sitting on one of the beds looking down at the ground in shame, "Light, you can't just keep running, bro." Lightning looked over at the purple dragon and sighed, "I just... I don't know... I can help anypony else with romance problems no hassle, but when it comes to Twilight... I just freeze up." :"Light, you need to stop being like past Spike and live like future Lightning Dasher." "Don't even get me started on that again..." "No seriously, Stop worrying and just ask her out. If not today, then how about tomorrow?" Lightning sighed, "Alright... I'll ask tomorrow... or at least try." Spike chuckled, "Well now that that's settled, let's play some games!" Lightning grinned as the two of them played video games into the night until they went to sleep.

Meanwhile, in the study room, Twilight was looking through many of her books, doing her usual late night studying. While going through a book called The Origins of Alicorns, she couldn't help but worry about Lightning's earlier behavior. Did she say something wrong? Or was her not talking to him was what caused him to freak out? Twilight shook her head of these thoughts, no point in freaking out over unknown variables which she obviously had absolutely no control over. Maybe she could ask Light what was going on tomorrow, or maybe just strike up a conversation with him period, seeing as how they hadn't talked recently. Twilight sighed, putting the books away and heading to bed for the night, unaware that the next day would be more eventful than she would have liked...
