It was a regular day for Applejack on the farm, the sun shining, a warm breeze, just how Applejack liked it.
As the sun was lowering, Applejack was on her last few trees. "Long days work completed!" She said when she finished. Applejack looked over the apple orchard feeling proud of her hard work, and as she was moving the big wagon of apples into the barn, she remembered that there was a party at Sugar Cube Corner tomorrow, 'Just for the six of us' as Pinkie said in the letter. Once she left the apples in the barn, she headed into the house where Big Macintosh and Granny Smith were eating dinner, "We sure did pick ah lot ah apples today, huh Big Mac?" Applejack boasted "Eeyup." he responded " Hey Granny, any leftover apple pie? I'm starved!" Applejack asked "You're lucky ah just made a fresh one only 10 minutes ago!" said Granny Smith. As Applejack finished her slice of the pie, she ran up to her room and took out her hair bobbles and hopped into bed, after saying good night to every pony. "Ah love ma life."
The sun was rising as Applejack woke up, she made her bed and after doing her usual wake-up routine she headed downstairs. She would usually be one of the first downstairs in the morning, but today no pony was downstairs... nor awake. Applejack ate another piece of the pie Granny Smith made last night and ran outside to start the days work. She grabbed the wagon and put it beside a bunch of trees, and started working. Once she finished a few hours she was interupted by a loud crash in the tree she was about to hit. The unknown pony was proabably meant to land on the ground, but ended up in a tree, Applejack already knew who it was. "Rainbow Dash, why do ya have ta go so fast? Ya could just slow down?" Applejack said loudly, "Ugh, I can't see any gaps between trees, what else can I do?" Rainbow replied harshly. Applejack didn't want to start arguing over nothing so she just says what any pony would say, "So, why ya here anyway?" Applejack asked, Rainbow flew to the ground where Applejack was standing, making sure she had no cuts or bruises, "I was just here to remind you about the party Pinkie's planning, It's going to be so AWESOME!" she shouted happily. "Well ah haven't forgotten, it's hard ta forget when ah pony crash lands into ah tree, just ta tell me! Not very awesome don't ya think?", Applejack laughed, "Hey! Just because I crashed doesn't mean i'm not awesome! I'm away to see if every pony else has remembered. See ya later!" Rainbow dashed away quickly through the sky, "And don't crash onto some ponies poor house!" Applejack shouted, she could just hear a 'won't'. It was in the afternoon when Applejack remembered about the party at 6:00pm, Ah'm sure Rainbow can't wait! Applejack thought, she put all the equipment, and the apples, away into the barn, and headed towards Sugar cube corner. Ponyville always looks nice at late afternoon, it always made Applejack smile, thinking about how nice every pony is and how they all spend time to decorate their front gardens beautifully! Fluttershy, Twilight and of course Rainbow were already inside, "Hey ya'll!" Applejack said friendly, Fluttershy jumped and hid behind Twilight, until realising it was Applejack and replyed with a "Hi", Twilight was reading one of those 'how to have the best party ever' books, and when she saw Applejack she smiled and said "Hello Applejack! I hope you're not missing any work by going here, I was reading all different kinds of books about parties, did you know there are hundreds of things to do?" Twilight said, "Ah'm not missing out on nothing! When Pinkie throws a party, ah'll be there." Applejack smiled. "Hey look! There's Rarity!" Shouted Pinkie, "Lovely day to throw a party darling." Rarity responded. Rarity was in one of her dresses that she uses for parties, Applejack hates dresses, but Rarity always makes the nicest. "Come on every pony! Let's play a game!" all six of them moved into a circle, beside Applejack was Twilight and Rainbow, Rainbow seemed to be buzzing with excitement, she couldn't keep still, and Twilight opened her other book called 'Games'. "Oooo there's a game in here called truth or dare." Twilight said, "Sounds fun!" Pinkie shouted, " You have to give an honest answer or do what any pony tells you to do." Twilight explained. "Pinkie, since you made the party you should start! All you have to do is pick a pony from the circle and either ask them something or dare them to do something, and they MUST do it, the book says so." "Okie dokie lokie!" Pinkie smiles "Hmm.. I pick..." Pinkie stops and thinks for a second, "I pick Rarity!" She shouts loudly, "Now you have to ask her a question or dare her to do anything." Twilight says. "Anything?" Pinkie says, "Do you like cake?" Pinkie asks, Every pony were about to start laughing, but Rarity answered with a polite "Yes Pinkie, I like cake." Pinkie stood there with her hooves to her mouth and starts gasping. "Now Rarity picks a pony!" Twilight laughs, Rarity looks around the room until she started grinning, "I dare Applejack to say something really romantic!" She shouted. Applejack stood completely still, "Ah... Um.." Applejack said barely, Every pony was staring at Applejack about to burst into laughter, "You have to do it." Twilight said, Applejack started blushing lightly as she said "Um.. Uh.." She sighed "If ah had to choose between breathin' or lovin' ya, ah would say 'ah love ya' with ma last breath.. " Applejack said out loud. All the ponies in the room were completely silent. "Did you just? Say that Applejack?" Asked Rarity, "Yup.." she whispered. "Oh, oh Twilight! It's Applejacks turn isn't it? isn't it?" Pinkie shouted. "Yes Pinkie it's Applejacks turn." Twilight replied. " Ah dare.. Rainbow ta say that she hates the Wonderbolts!" Rainbow nearly choked until she realised 'words can't hurt no pony' or can they? "But.. but.. but.. Ugh.. I.. Hate.. The.. Wonder.. bolts.." Rainbow choked out. Applejack was laughing non stop, and as the ponies continued there games. Rarity grew more and more suspicious of Applejack. As the party was at an end, and everyone got a big helping of cake, they all said there goodbyes and left, apart from Rarity who ran over to Applejack. "Applejack!" Rarity called out, "Hey Rare!" Applejack responded happily, "May I ask.. How did you know something like that?" Rarity questioned, "Like what? Like.. the romantic line?" Applejack said quickly. "Yeah the line, how did you learn it?" Rarity asked again, "Well ma pa used ta tell me one day ah'll have a very special some pony one day, and ah'll need ta learn nice things ta say." "What sort of nice things?" Rarity asked interested in knowing how Applejack was being learned. "Well, like singin', dancin', speakin', eatin' stuff like that" Applejack said. "He was a true gentle colt.. " sighed Applejack starting to feel sad about her losing her parents, a single tear went down her face. "Ah loved him.." Rarity was overwhelmed by how sad Applejack was, she was normally a tough not afraid of anything earth pony, but tonight Rarity seen something different in Applejack, a loving side. Rarity placed her hoof on Applejacks shoulder, "I'm sorry that you lost your parents Applejack, I wouldn't know how that would feel, but I know a pony who needs help. I have a spare room in my boutique, you could stay at mine for tonight. A little sleepover?" Rarity smiled, "Thanks Rarity... Ah would like that ah lot. As Rarity walked beside the sad Applejack towards her boutique, they moved side by side. Rarity levitated the door open for Applejack "Thanks" Applejack said happier then 30 minutes ago. "It's my pleasure darling!" Applejack sat on a seat in Rarity's living room and Rarity came over "Please do make yourself comfortable! Would you like some tea?" Rarity asked nicely. "Thank ya kindly Rarity, and i'd love some tea" Applejack replied with a smile. After both ponies had tea and had a chat about their jobs, Rarity showed Applejack where she would be sleeping, it was a beautifully decorated room with a big bed. "Is this really where ah'm stayin'?" Applejack asked in awe, "Why? Do you not like it? You could go somewhe- "Ah love it." Applejack interrupted her panicking. "Oh, good. If you need me I'm right next door, you're welcome to, and do have a nice night!" Rarity smiled, "Thanks Rare!" Applejack replied gratefully. Rarity left the room and Applejack put her hat on the stool next to the bed and jumped in. It was warm, yet cold, it was quite peaceful. even though this bed was amazing, she missed her own bed.
"I could get used to this."
The sun was shining, and Applejack was slowly waking up. "Where am ah?" Applejack whispered, she looked around the decorated room. "Oh right, Rarity's." she remembered after a while. Applejack got up and made the bed, put her hat on and walked out of the room. She could hear noises coming from the kitchen, and walked up to find Rarity making a big breakfast. "Of course" Applejack whispered under her breath, "Hey, Rare!" Applejack said, "Oh, hello Applejack!" Rarity smiled. "I made some breakfast for us, Sweetie Belle is already at school so she couldn't have any." she explained. "Well thank ya very much Rarity, for letting me stay and all." replied Applejack, "It sure smells good!".
"That breakfast was sure somethin'! If you weren't such ah fancy dress maker, ya would be the best breakfast maker!"
Applejack said pleased. "Why thank you Applejack!" Rarity replied back, "Holy Celestia! I need ta go ta ma farm! It's cider season!" Applejack shouted. "Thank ya Rare, for everything!" She said as she was running out the door, "If I can he-" Rarity was interrupted by the door shutting in front of her. Rarity sighed and started cleaning up.
Applejack was at Sweet apple acres in minutes, and when she got there Granny Smith, Big Mac and Applebloom were standing at the entrance with angry faces. "Where were ya Applejack! It's cider season!" Applebloom shouted, "Ah knew ya shouldn't of went ta that party!" Granny Smith told her to be quiet. "Ya knew it was cider season. Where were ya?" She demanded harshly, "Ah.. Ah.. was at Rarity's!" Applejack said feeling have scared by the look Granny Smith was giving her. "Rarity's? Wha were ya at Rarity's?" Granny Smith questioned, "It was hard times! After the party, Rarity wanted to know things and ah remembered good times about Pa. What else could ah do! Ah got emotional and she let me stay at hers! Now ah'm gonna go and work on the trees that ah missed!" Applejack was in rage, she had to shout to make them understand, she shoved past the three ponies into the barn and ran out with the wagon. Applejack's family were shocked at how angry Applejack was, "Ah don't think ah've seen her so angry before.." Applebloom whispered, "Applejack was like that when ya were younger Applebloom, do ya remember them times Big Mac?" Granny Smith replied, "Eeyup. Talkin' about Pa always made her angry, she blamed herself on his death." Big Mac agreed.
Applejack was kicking the trees with rage, which caused them all to nearly fall over, and some did. "Why don't they understand!" she spat, "Can't ah be ah normal pony once in ah while?". Applejack stopped where she was, "Why am ah so angry?", "Ya have always been angry." Big Mac said from behind her, "Now, let's forget about all this, and let's just work ah normal day, or else there will be no trees left from yer anger." He smiled. "Thanks Mac, It's like ah gift ya got for calmin' ponies." she laughed. The day went by with normal after, quickly forgetting about everything she done and said. Applejack loved her job, it was simple, all you need is strength and stamina. "Applejack! Lunch!" shouted Granny Smith from the distance, as Applejack was sprinting to the house she loved feeling the air over her body. Being a Pegasus must be great! she thought to herself, when she got to the house she gobbled down a huge chunk of pie then ran back outside to finish her days work, there were so many trees, it would take them forever, even if Applejack was angry it wouldn't matter.
Applejack moved her wagons into the barn and went to get dinner, she would just have pie all the time since she knew it wouldn't take long to eat, and it was very nice as well. Applejack ran upstairs and had a shower, "Ah wonder how many types of soaps Rarity has!" she laughed when she saw a small bar on the floor. After she jumped into her normal bed, "Ah... Equestria's best bed, has ta be this one." She snuggled up into her blanket and fell asleep.
Rarity was up late finishing a design in her inspiration room, "Hmm... Lovely.. Horrid.. PERFECT!" she smiled fetching a big feathery hat. The door opened slightly and Sweetie Belle appeared holding a white unicorn with a bright purple mane and tail. "Sweetie Belle? Why are you up so late?" Rarity asked calmly, "I coudent sweep." Sweetie Belle replied in between the stuffed pony. "Well..." Rarity thought trying to think of something that would make her sleepy, "Ah, you could help me with a new design!" Rarity responded happily. Sweetie Belle put her toy on the ground slowly "Good idea! That would definitely make me sleepy easily!". Rarity started showing Sweetie Belle different types of material for dresses, Sweetie Belle was writing down ideas. "How's this?" Sweetie Belle showed Rarity her drawing, "It's perfect Sweetie! Let's put it all together!" Rarity said happily, her sister did a good drawing. After sewing, ironing, placing, cutting and much more, Rarity and Sweetie Belle's dress was finished. "It's amazing!" Sweetie Belle shouted, Rarity agreed, it was indeed amazing, it was a white and pink dress with music notes over it. "IDEA!!" Rarity shouted, "If is your dress, I could make one for all the crusaders!", "But what about the capes we made, and our badge?" Sweetie Belle wondered, looking sad. "Sweetie, I meant for special times. Also when you find your cutie mark, would you still wear the cutie mark crusaders cape? You wouldn't be a crusader any more sure?" Rarity said trying to make her feel better, Sweetie Belle looked ready to explode any second. "THE CUTIE MARK CRUSADERS DRESS MAKERS!" She shouted, "I guess that could work to." Rarity replied, "It's settled then! The cutie mark crusaders dress mak-" Sweetie Belle was about to finish until she fell asleep on the floor, "Oh..." Rarity smiled "Let's bring you to bed" Rarity lifted Sweetie Belle and sat her on the bed and went to her own room, had a bath, brushed her hair and slid into bed. Rarity sighed and fell asleep quickly.
