Two Doomed Fates

A cave. A dark, dank cave. This is where our two main characters remain for the rest of their lives. Both Roseluck and Discord stuck in a sealed cave. The question is, how did they get stuck? More importantly, why are they together. Let us learn of the misfortune that came on the two.

Like any other day in Ponyville, it was sunny and there was not a single cloud in sight. Roseluck runs her flower shop and so far, her business is doing well. At the end of the day, she closes up and heads upstairs to her room. She goes to sleep, but not for long. Only after an hour after going to sleep, she hears a loud siren. But, like everyone else, she knows what the siren means; someone was attacking Ponyville.

Quickly, she runs downstairs and heads towards the door. Before she even reaches the door, the wall beside her explodes and is on fire. Recovering from the blast, she runs to the door, unlocks it and heads outside. What she sees is a nightmare. Buildings on fire, falling down and almost crushing some of the residents. Everyone is running towards the Everfree Forest, but of course not into it for it is more dangerous than what is happening. She wonders what is going on, until she looks to her left into the ocean. Ships. Hundreds of ships. And she recognizes them too.

They are ships from the Fire Nation, one of the most violent nations. Who knows why they came to Ponyville, but whatever the reason, it didn't seem like they were going to reason with anyone. Each whip of fire hit the buildings and sliced them and set them on fire. Roseluck began to run towards the Everfree Forest, but then a ring of fire encircled her, leaving her trapped and roasting. She though for sure that it was the last of her, until something very unexpected happened. Out of thin air, a hand appeared. And then another. One was a left hand and then other was a right hand, but they didn't match. They seemed to be of different animals...

Both hands grabbed her and by the next time she blinked, there was no fire. In fact, it was all just grass with a tinted color of orange. And then she looked behind her. She saw all of Ponyville ablaze. Then she remembered that she was pulled out of the fire, but by who? She didn't see anyone around that could've saved her. It must have been a unicorn that used a teleportation spell since she got out of the fire pretty quickly...
* POOF *

Just like the hands she saw, someone appeared in front of her. But it wasn't a unicorn or a pony at all. It was a draconequus, none other than Discord.

“Why hello. It's a good thing a got you out of that ring of fire before you melted alive,” said Discord.

“Bu-bu-bu-but, I don't get it. Why would you, of all ponies, come to save me? I mean, you're Discord, chaos and all!” Exclaimed Roseluck.

“Well, you see, Princess Celestia has convinced of doing good and now I embrace it. I live for only doing good now. Anyways, we must get moving along, we need to find a place to hide from the Fire Nation until they leave Ponyville.”

From the fields, they went off into the mountain ranges in seek of a place to stay. Just as they neared the foot of a mountain, they heard a few trees rustle.

“Did you hear, Discord? That didn't sound like the wind blowing... It sounded more like someone climbing into a tree.”

“You could be right. Maybe they're advancing past Ponyville and trying to take as many of the ponies they can find. We should really go now, who knows where they can be-”

Before Discord finished his sentence, one of the soldiers from the Fire Nation jumped from the nearest tree and started to shoot fire balls at them. Luckily, they all missed, but in the time they were dodging his fire balls, he was already close enough to touch them. Roseluck jumped to the side, but it wasn't her he was after. The soldier jumped up to Discord's head and tapped it. He was frozen there for a minute, but then came down to the ground knocked out cold. Roseluck was astonished, but remembered that the threat was still in the area. She ran towards the soldier, turned around and kicked him as hard as she could near the center of gravity. He landed pretty far away and like Discord was also unconscious, almost dead. She went to where Discord was and tried to wake him up. It took around five minutes, but he eventually woke up.

“My my, what a terrible headache I have... What happened?” Discord asked.

“I'm not really sure.. It all happened so fast. A soldier from the Fire Nation came out from the tree over there and tapped you on your head. Then you just stood there for a while and then fell down. I wasn't sure what to do, so I went up to him and kicked him as hard as I could.”

“Odd... Well, now that he is taken care of, let's get going.”

When Discord tried to teleport himself into a standing position, nothing happened. His magic had been stolen by the soldier. He couldn't get his magic back, no matter what he did.

“ Oh no... No no no no no... My magic is gone! I can't perform any spells!” Discord shouted.

“Uh-oh, that's not good. What are we going to do if more soldiers come and attack us?!?”

“I'm not sure, but the only thing we can do is keep on moving through the mountains.”

And so they did. Through the mountains, going up and down steep paths. They had to take many breaks for there were many paths. Then came what they feared. More of the Fire Nation's soldiers. They needed to hide somewhere and fast. They came upon a cave that would surely hide them from the threat. They went in and waited. A few minutes later, the soldiers came by and looked around.

“Go look inside that cave, there could be some of those ponies hiding in there,” commanded one of the soldiers.

There was a great suspense. The soldier went in, slowly looking around for any sign that there was something in there. He was near the corner of where Roseluck and Discord were hiding. Just as he was turning the corner, one of the soldiers from outside the cave shouted.

“Look up there! It's one of them! Hurry, fire at it! Make sure that it does not live!”

He ran out and began shooting fire at the pony with everyone else. Fortunately, the pony ran to the other side of the mountain. But, during the time that the soldiers were shooting fire, one of them shot a big blast that made rocks fall down. They all ran to keep clear, but the rocks landed in front of the cave. Now, Roseluck and Discord were trapped inside of the cave. Alone in a dark, dank cave.

“W-what do we do now... We're stuck here forever! There's no other exits and the rocks are too heavy to carry!” Roseluck cried.

“Then I guess that's it. We're done. Game over.” Discord said.
And then a Pinkamena popped out.
