Thread there. A mannequin knocked on the ground. Rarity dug everywhere in her room to find them. She knew they had to be there- they had to be somewhere! "I can't be all out of gems!" She shrieked. She heard Sweetie Belle groan from her room. She was sure she had plenty of gems, and she needed them to finish off her most recent design. Then she thought. I'll bet Sweetie Belle took them! "Sweetie Belle, get here this instant!" With wide eyes glittering and confused, the small white unicorn emerged through the door, walking carefully. Rarity could be pretty harsh when she was mad, for the element of generosity. "I know you took them!" Rarity scolded. Sweetie Belle blinked and tilted her head. "What?" "My diamonds!" "What use would I have of your rocks?" Sweetie Belle replied, honestly but with a hint of sarcasm in her tone. Rarity's chest heaved in. "I'm sorry, Sweetie... I just needed these diamonds to finish my design." Rarity said, suddenly calm. Sweetie Belle's tail was already trailing through the doorway by the time Rarity looked back at where she was. She was abundantly pretty annoyed with Rarity freaking out about her gems. After looking around once more to make sure she hadn't missed her gems, Rarity organized her stuff all over again. She just needed these gems! She decided to head out and search for some diamonds so she could finish her carefully planned design. "Be right back, Sweetie Belle," She called as she dashed past her younger sister's room and bulleted out the door. She thought she heard her sister say something in reply as she surged through the entrance. She skidded to a halt and then casted her spell for which her horn would attract hidden jewels, gems, crystals, and diamonds. She looked around but found nothing at all, even after traveling at least 30 or so blocks from the Carousel Boutique. Although that didn't seem very far, she would always find at least a few scattered gems here and there. A wave of shock fell over her as she felt her horn glow and a force, almost like magnet, pulled her towards something. It had to be something amazing. She stopped when she saw Twilight and Spike speaking. Unable to be seen from her distance, she inch towards them. Twilight seemed to be levitating something. She was holding up a nice looking royal blue book, with beautifully added varieties of diamonds, and of every color she could think of. She could barely hear the purple unicorn speaking, but she could make out the words: "This is the one book I don't have- I believe it is called The Diamond Book." Rarity's eyes glowed. It looked promising- the name sounded promising, too. She backed up so Twilight wouldn't see her eavesdropping on the scene. She watched as Twilight opened the book. She gasped when she looked at the pages. She flipped through the pages with her jaw dropped. If she was so shocked by that book, then it must be AMAZING! Rarity thought to herself. Even Spike eyed the book with wonder. The white unicorn wanted to go and get that book so badly. It could help her find some gems to finish her dress! But Twilight was clearly searching through the book with a considerate look in her eyes, and being the generous pony she is, Rarity knew that it would be wrong to take it. But if it wasn't right to take it, then Rarity would want to be wrong. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter Three: It's Finally Mine //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter Three: It's Finally Mine Rarity stomped off in the direction of Twilight's house. Spike made a half regretful, half confused glance at her and kept walking along. He must've been doing something for Twilight, maybe shopping? Maybe she was too busy to do it herself. Rarity thought for a second, and then continued walking. "Those ponies trusted me," she muttered to herself. She finally approached the big brown house and knocked on the door. A purple unicorn opened the door. The book was coated in a glow of purple, being levitated by Twilight Sparkle, right in front of her, which her eyes were locked on. "You already got it, Spi- oh, I thought you were Spike! Come in. What do you need?" Rarity blinked and looked around, then looked at the book. "Are you busy with that book?" Rarity started, trying not to act too eager, but she felt more rushed than ever knowing the two ponies wanted a diamond dress. Twilight met Rarity's eyes, trying to look for an answer. "Er... not really." Rarity unconsciously fiddled her hooves around. "Could I borrow it?" She smiled and batted her eyes innocently. Twilight made a regretful look, the same face Spike had made, and sighed. "There's nothing in it," she said. Rarity felt like she was on fire. "Really, can I just see it?" The purple mare raised one eyebrow and handed it over to Rarity. "Sure, but there's nothing to see." "Mmmhmm." She ran off with the book almost at the same instant she grabbed it, and stopped, panting when she reached the Carousel Boutique. She couldn't imagine what would be in such a wonderful, amazing looking book. Her eyes widened as she opened to the first page. There was literally nothing! Rarity felt so stupid, but at the same time in shock and kept looking for any sign of information in the book. It couldn't just be empty. She flipped through the pages, and stopped at the last page. She nearly passed out when she read the few shone words. We spent so much time on the cover that there was no time to write the book, but so much time was spent that we couldn't just keep it and do nothing! //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter Two: Mission Not-so Accomplished //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter Two: Mission Not-so Accomplished Rarity ducked before Spike looked past Twilight and almost saw her, then back at the book. She then, carefully but quickly, ran back to her house, knowing that she shouldn't have been watching them in the first place. It could just be a picture book... or it could be a whole library of diamo- "I must have it! I must!" She thought aloud, everypony around her staring out her. "Eh-heh-heh..."  She then backed up into the Carousel Boutique. I suppose I don't need it today, I mean, there's no need, I suppose. A group of ponies entered the Carousel Boutique. One had large glasses and the other didn't. "We heard you had a totally cute design coming up," Said the one without glasses. "And we just like, NEEDED it!" Rarity wiped sweat off her face and directed her to her clothes rack. "I don't see any diamond dress here," Said the one with glasses, obviously disappointed. Rarity's eyes widened. "How did you find out about it? I never told anyone about it." The pony without glasses sniffed then said "The little dragon dude, Scales or something," "Spike?" "Yeah, whatever. So like anyway, he ran into us, and he said you were looking for something so he ran out, and told us about the design you were planning..." Although she had a hard time understanding the pony, she was flustered that Spike spread the word. It was supposed to be top secret until release. "Well, then... I'm so sorry, but we don't have it out yet... but please come back later if you still want it." The pony without glasses grunted, and the other sighed. "We'll have it by tomorrow!" Why the hay did I say that?! Rarity had a sudden urge to take back what she said, but the two ponies looked pleased and headed off. Rarity banged her head on the wall and thought aloud, "I NEED to get that book, and now!" She burst out the door and stopped when she ran into Spike. Perfect! "I heard that Twilight has a new book in her library," Rarity said, starting off easy. Spike nodded. "And I heard it's about diamonds. Tell me, what was in that book?" "Nothing," the purple dragon said, impatience in his tone. "No, really, I need to know. What useful stuff was in that book, was there anything interesting?" Rarity's eyes started to burn. "I said nothing," Spike repeated, with no hesitation in his voice. Rarity wanted to rip her mane out. "What was in that book? I need to know for the design, you know!" Spike backed up, but spat out, "Nothing!" Rarity was just about to scream when she calmed herself down and breathed deeply. "I'll just ask Twilight, then."
