When foals begin to disappear from Ponyville and Equestria, Princess Celestia assigns Princess Twilight Sparkle to investigate the disappearances. After a year, progress stalls, prompting Celestia to call in outside aid. Twilight, demoted to an assistant, finds herself thrust into a headlong chase through the stars to find the missing ponies and prevent an interstellar war, one that would surely be the end of Equestria.
