Laughter's Void

Previous ChapterNext Chapter

Pinkie's lip quivered as her mane straightened, her personality changing in a mere seconds. No longer was she the normal fun-loving part pony, now only a forgotten, abandoned, and shunned annoyance. Darkness filled her mind, as the world before her swirled out of focus. The table in front of her swirled out of control, formless nothingness taking it's place. She slumped onto the ground, alone and without friends.

A tear slipped down her cheek as her mind raced, thinking back to the memories of good time, filled with laughter and song. No laughter found her ears in this reality. No songs were sung today, for now she knew the truth. Only the hateful words of her former friends were in her head, echoing in the vast emptiness. No eyes decorated it, nor did any mouth rest upon it. Another leg stepped forth out of the void, taking the form of an Earth Pony, also featureless.

The Unicorn's foreleg suddenly began to change colors, shifting from black to a light shade of purple. A third black leg stepped out of the vortex, this one in the form of a Pegasus. The Unicorn now had color up to it's neck, as the Earth Pony's legs too began to gain color, orange. More and more came from the vortex until five shapes stood before her, two of them fully colored, while the others slowly filled in. She recognized them instantly. The ones who hated her. Only one distinction was made, their eyes were red.

The looks of anger on their faces pierced her very soul, destroying her heart like a serrated knife. Growling, the figures of her former friends sending her further from into her sadness. Their mouths opened, revealing sharp, saliva ridden teeth, dripping as they glistened somehow in the dark void. Pinkie merely began to cry as they closed in around her, growling and hissing as their eyes continued to glow brighter and brighter...
