Something is wrong in the nursery of the Cake's ultra-modern Happylife Home. The nursery is a magical room that transforms itself into whatever the Cake Twins want it to be. Lately all they've wanted is one thing: a sinister, sun-scorched Leylands veldt inhabited by hungry lions. Mr. and Mrs. Cake are concerned. When they decide to close the nursery, their children fight back.

This is a retelling of the classic short story The Veldt by Ray Bradbury written in 1950. I feel this is an important story for people to read, not for it's overall message, but for the sheer craftsmanship of the story telling. Any like or favourite to this story will not contribute to my ego or feel like an achievement. The only achievement I will feel is knowing that I have brought this story to others.

I understand that there is a chance this story may be taken as against the rules of the site, but I believe that is foolish. This story has been told again and again and again both in the classroom, the library and across the world. There is little to no reason it doesn't belong on this site too.
