The Alicorn Warby Sylver ParadoxChaptersBook 2: The Eternal NightBook 3: The Death of RoyaltyBook 4: Return of the SunBook 1: The Most PowerfulBook 2: The Eternal Night“MAY I HAVE YOUR ATTENTION PLEASE!” Princess Celestia’s voice echoed through the Great Hall of Canterlot Castle. She had called an emergency meeting of the Royal Council, a group of high ranking ponies that hadn’t gathered in one place since the first great Changeling War. They had all been given the gift of immortality by and ancient wizard because judgment and thinking skills. However, they didn’t really look like they were handling the current situation very well. Princess Celestia had started the meeting by introducing Silverbolt, which didn’t really go over well with the Council. Three of them had heart attacks, so now there was only nine of the original twelve. Celestia had explained The Darkness to Twilight and her friends before the council gathered. “There are three Realms in our universe.” She had said. “When ponies die, they either go to the First Realm or the Second Realm. We live in the Third Realm. If you do good in your life, you go to the First Realm and become one of the Upper Beings. If you do evil in your life, you go to the Second Realm and join The Darkness. The Darkness consists of every evil earth pony, unicorn, pegasus, and alicorn that ever lived. Now that Silverbolt has the most powerful magic, the will stopped at nothing to pull him into the Second Realm. Short of killing him, of course, because then he would lose his magic. Our only hope is to cast a complex spell that was designed to protect the Third Realm from the Second. We must finish it before they break through the fabric of space, or it will fail.” “YOU KNOW WHAT WE MUST DO!” said Celestia to the Council. “WE MUST CAST THE SPELL BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE! EVERYPONY PLEASE GATHER ON THE BALCONY!” The Council did as she said, and then all started to chant as one. Celestia, Luna, and Silverbolt all joined in, creating a hypnotic harmony of voices. As they neared the end of the spell, there was an echoing, earthshaking crack that resounded throughout Equestria. Then, a pure black chasm opened up in the sky, becoming larger by the second. The shadows seemed to pour from the crack, but then everypony realized that the shadows were actually pure black alicorns and pegasi soaring through the air, with unicorns and earth ponies streaking towards the ground, leaving obsidian craters in the ground. “It’s too late.” murmured Luna. “They are here.” “Wait!” interrupted Silverbolt, his horn glowing silver. “I can feel them! I can read their minds! I can tell who they are! Oh, uh-oh. There’s one up there that seems to bear a particular malice towards you and your friends, Twilight. That one, there.” He pointed to a shadowy figure whose only distinguishable feature was a blood red, talon-like horn. Twilight felt a chill run down her spine. “Can you get his name?” she asked. “Ummm… I think it’s… King Sombra! That’s it! Does that mean anything to you?” “Unfortunately, yes.” she replied. “There’s no time to chat!” yelled Celestia “We have to take cov-!” she was interrupted by three dark alicorns swooping down. They had shadows curling from their fur like dark vapors. They each shot a ray of dark energy at Celestia, encasing her in a shadowy sphere. “NO!” shouted Luna. “That spell was lost!” “We… recovered it.” hissed one of The Darkness, in a voice that reflected nothing but pure rage and hatred. They shot the dark energy at Silverbolt next, but he put up a shield and counteracted it. No matter how hard the three dark alicorns tried, they could not break Silverbolt’s shield. While this battle of strength was going on, there was a commotion in the crack. A blue and tan blur shot from it and tumbled towards the balcony. The dark alicorns looked at it and began to glow with a horrible dark light. “We are leaving… for now.” one hissed. “But we will return for him.” It pointed a hoof at Silverbolt. There was a zap of black lightning, and they disappeared. “Noo!” howled Luna. “What kind of spell was that!?” asked Twilight. “That” said Silverbolt “was the eternal night spell. As long as Celestia is in the Second Realm, the sun will not rise. The Darkness is most powerful at night.” “We’ve got to rescue her!” said Rainbow Dash valiantly, glancing at Silverbolt as if for his approval. “I wish it were that simple.” said Silverbolt, not noticing Dash’s furtive glance. “But the Second Realm is so chaotic, nopony can enter without going insane, at the least. They would have to be… I don’t know!” “A spirit of chaos?” said Luna with a sly smile. There was a flash out on the balcony, and a familiar voice rang out. “You called?” “Discord!” yelled Fluttershy happily. “Oh, I’m so happy to see you again!” “Same here, my dear Fluttershy, although I wish it were not under these circumstances.” “Um, what’s happening here?” asked a very confused Silverbolt. “Fluttershy reformed Discord. He’s a good guy now!” said Pinkie. “Oh.” Just then, the blue and tan blur hit the balcony. It stood up, revealing itself to be a tan pony with a dark blue mane and tail. “Oooh, another one fell from the sky!” squealed Pinkie excitedly. ”What’s your name? Are you Princess Celestia’s other brother?” “No.” he said with a little chuckle. “I’m not. And as for my name, nopony has used it for a very long time. But… I think I used to be called… the Prophet.” Twilight gasped as she remembered the message she had received from herself a week ago. Don’t trust the Prophet. “I had better not let him know that I'm onto him.” she thought. “He could be dangerous. I’ll leave it for now, but I'm going to keep a close eye on him.” The Prophet began his story. “I was captured from my homeland a very long time ago. The Darkness wanted me because of my gift of foretelling the future. Unfortunately, they killed me to get me to the Second Realm. As you probably know by now, that caused me to lose my powers. They soon realized their mistake, and brought me back by using the life for a life spell. I still didn’t have my magic though. So they put me in a prison and left me to rot. However, when the crack opened up, I made a break for it and escaped. Now I'm here.” “This is all very nice,” interrupted Discord “but we have bigger problems. I understand that I am to be our dear Princess Celestia’s knight in shining armor, as it were?” “Yes, that’s correct.” replied Silverbolt. “Then I will be off!” said Discord. He flapped his odd wings and took off towards the dark chasm, dodging the dark alicorns and pegasi skillfully as they tried to stop him. “Well, what do we do now?” asked Rainbow Dash to nopony in particular. “Now” replied Luna “we hold off these things until Discord returns with my sister.” She shot a bolt of midnight blue energy at a pure black unicorn, vaporizing it instantly. Two more immediately took its place. Beams of dark light flew through the air, turning Canterlot into a war zone. Fluttershy and Rarity were already on the ground floor of the castle, tending to the wounded. An agonized scream of a pony in pain rang out. “This is definitely going to be a challenge.” said Luna. “And I’m not so sure we will be able to overcome it.” Book 3: The Death of RoyaltyIt was dark. So dark. The entire land of Equstria was covered in a dense, black fog. If you listened, you could hear the screams of the wounded. Wings of shadow flapped overhead, sending a jolt of terror through anypony that heard them. The ominous crack in the sky grew ever bigger. The reign of The Darkness had come. “Here are the places that need the most help.” Luna pointed to a map at four separate places on opposite corners of the map. Rarity and Pinkie Pie had gathered ponies from all over Equestria and built an army. This army was divided into four sections. The first was led by Princess Luna. The second was led by Silverbolt. The third was led by and pure white Pegasus named Albus, and the fourth byTwilight and her five friends. “I will go to Fillydelphia .” stated Luna. “Silverbolt, you go to Cloudsdale! Twilight, you take your group to Ponyville, and Albus, you stay here to guard Canterlot. “Wait!” yelled Applejack. “That leaves the Crystal Empire undefended!” “We will handle that.” said a voice directly behind Twilight. She felt a chill go through her as she recognized the voice that still haunted her dreams. She turned around to see Queen Chrysalis standing there, with an army of changelings backing her. “Chrysalis!” yelled Silverbolt. “Ahh, Silverbolt.” said the changeling queen. “I never thought I would see you again!” Silverbolt ran up to Chrysalis and, to everypony’s surprise, nuzzled her! Chrysalis looked shocked, but then warmly accepted it. “Silverbolt!” exclaimed Luna. “You and… her!?” “Oh yes.” He replied with a sly chuckle. “Chrysalis and I became quite…er…close during the war.” Everypony gathered around the two to ask questions, so nopony noticed Rainbow Dash going into the corner to sulk. Except, of course, the unicorn with the eye for detail, Rarity. “Rainbow Dash! What’s wrong? It’s not like you to sulk like this!” “I don’t know.” Replied the cyan Pegasus. “I guess it’s just seeing Silverbolt and Chrysalis together like that..” “But why would that- OH!” Rarity unsuccessfully tried to stifle a yell of surprise as it hit her. “Dashie! You have crush on Silverbolt?!” “Yeah” answered Rainbow Dash. “I guess it’s kinda stupid to think that an alicorn like him would fall for a normal Pegasus like… well, like me.” “Now Dash, you mustn’t be so hard on yourself.” Said Rarity. “I’m sure you still have a chance with him.” Rainbow Dash still looked depressed. “Don’t lie to me to make me feel better, Rarity. I know there’s no chance. Oh well, plenty more fish in the sea, right?” “Hmm…” said Rarity under her breath, not entirely convinced that Rainbow Dash was okay. The two of them went back to join the group, where nopony had noticed their absence. “Ok, everybody. Let’s take our armies and go in our designated directions, with Chrysalis and the Changelings in the Crystal Empire.” “I’ll go with Chrysalis!” interrupted Silverbolt. “No.” said Chrysalis and Luna at the same time. “Silverbolt, you have your own responsibilities.” continued Chrysalis. “You can’t follow me around like this forever. Go with your army, and when we win, we can come back here later and talk.” “Fiiiine.” muttered Silverbolt sullenly. “Let us be off!” ordered Luna. “Okay, girls!” yelled Twilight. ”Let’s go kick some Darkness butt!” they all took off running in the direction of Ponyville. After a couple of hours, they arrived to find their beloved home a war ground. The bodies of earth ponies, pegasi, and unicorns littered the ground. Among them fought the unicorns and earth ponies, while the pegasi and alicorns were engaged in a deadly aerial battle far above. “Rainbow Dash!” yelled Twilight over the noise of the fighting. “Take all of your pegasi and bring some reinforcements to those fighting above! Fluttershy and Rarity! Find some supplies and start fixing up all the wounded! Applejack, Pinkie Pie and I will help those fighting on the ground! Good luck.” She shot a bolt of shimmery purple magic at a dark unicorn, turning him to dust. Applejack bucked up and kicked a dark pony so hard he evaporated. Pinkie… well, Pinkie Pie was just being Pinkie Pie. She wheeled out her party cannon (loaded with titanium confetti), and began firing it in all directions, laughing maniacally while she did so. In less than an hour, they had cleared the area of all of The Darkness. Or so they thought. “We did it!” yelled Pinkie. “We saved Ponyville! I'm gonna throw a HUGE par-“She was cut off as her voice stopped working. Her mouth opened and closed wordlessly before she looked down at her chest with a puzzled expression to see the shadowy horn sticking out of her neck. Twilight immediately vaporized the dark alicorn, but the damage was done. Pinkie fell to the ground, blood already flowing freely from the gaping wound. “PINKIE! PIIIINKKIIIIIEEE!!!” Twilight hollered at the top of her lungs. “I’m-sorr-y-Twi-light.” Pinkie’s breaths were already getting shorter and faster. “When-it-is-your-turn… I’ll-throw-a-big-par-ty-for-you. Good-bye.” She broke down into weak coughing, and then slumped to the ground as her spirit soared to the First Realm. “NO! NOOOO!” Rainbow Dash shot down and hit the ground at breathtaking speed before sprinting over to Pinkie. “Pinkie...” she whimpered. Then she looked up. “We are going to the Crystal Empire, Twilight.” she said. “And we are going to kill all of The Darkness!” “Agreed.” Said Twilight vengefully. The five friends held a quick burial for Pinkie Pie, and then took off for the Crystal Empire. The reached it in record time, and found Luna and Silverbolt already there helping Chrysalis. Just as in Ponyville, there were bodies everywhere. Luna and Silverbolt were shooting through the air, vaporizing The Darkness with every shot of magic. Twilight saw a crystal pony cowering in the shadows and heard it whimper, “He-he’s back… I can’t believe he’s back… he’ll kill us all!” Twilight looked up to see who it was. She gasped as she saw King Sombra hovering in the air, surrounded by crackling black electricity. “But… he died! He lost his magic!” “Yes.” said Luna. “But he used his own evil and dark energy to reanimate his magic.” “Well then,” said Twilight, “We’ll just have to fight extra hard to beat him!” Silverbolt shot towards the ground at supersonic speed with his metal hoof stretched out in front of him. He hit the ground hard, sending out a massive shockwave that disintegrated a good chunk of The Darkness’ ranks. The two armies battled hard for a long time, but The Darkness was slowly being defeated. King Sombra, seeing that he was losing, descended towards Silverbolt in hopes of catching him. He shot lightning at Silverbolt, but it was deflected easily. When Sombra realized that it was useless, he began shooting into the rest of the group. With some difficulty, his magic was deflected. In a last ditch effort, he summoned all of what remained of his dark energy and fired it. The bolt of lightning punched straight through the defenses and hit it’s target square in the chest. Queen Chrysalis screamed and arched her back violently as the lightning course through her body. “NO!” screamed Silverbolt. He shot a bolt of magic at King Sombra that, rather than it’s normal silver, was a deep, dark red. It hit Sombra, and instead of killing him, caused him to twist and writhe in agony, screaming at the top of his lungs. Finally, he evaporated into thin air as Silverbolt ran to Chrysalis’ body. “No…” he whimpered as he buried his nose in her fur. “She-she said that we could talk later… “ ”I’m so sorry.” murmured Rainbow Dash, putting a hoof on his shoulder. “DON’T TOUCH ME!” he screamed. Rainbow jumped back, surprised at his reaction. “JUST- JUST GO AWAY! ALL OF YOU!” Everypony slowly backed away from him before turning and bolting in the direction of Canterlot. Rainbow Dash had just taken off when the first tears began to fall. Everypony was back in the Great Hall of Canterlot Castle except Silverbolt. The rumors about his absence had just begun spreading when he walked. He immediately went over to Rainbow Dash. “I’m sorry I snapped at you.” he said. “I was just so distraught. I guess I should have realized that I never had a chance with Chrysalis.” Dashie smiled to herself as she recognized the words she had said to herself not so long ago. “And to tell the truth, Rainbow Dash, I liked you from the moment I saw you.” Rainbow Dash blushed. “So, I guess what I'm trying to say is, well… um… see, do you… wow this is hard.” “Are trying to ask me to be your marefriend?” asked Rainbow Dash. “Um, well, yeah.” He looked hopefully at her. “Of course, you big lug!” She leaned forward and nuzzled him. He looked very relieved, and rested his chin on her head as everypony gave a loud hoofstomp. “I hate to interrupt this emotional moment” said Luna, “But Discord isn’t back with Celestia yet, which means that there are still dark ponies up there in the Second Realm.” Just as she said that, the crack convulsed in the sky and spit out and of pure shadow. Then everypony realized that it was a thick cloud of fresh Darkness ponies. Despair washed over them as the hopelessness of their situation hit them. “We’re dead.” muttered Rainbow Dash. Suddenly, the air next to Princess Luna began to shimmer. It gathered into the vague form of an alicorn even bigger and more majestic than Princess Celestia. “An Upper Being!” gasped Silverbolt. “But they never come to our realm!” As the Upper Being came into focus, Luna’s eyes widened in shock. She said one word. “Mother!” Book 4: Return of the SunImmediately, the jaws of everypony in the room dropped. The form of the alicorn became clear. She was tall and thin, with beautiful lavender fur. Her mane flowed just as Celestia’s did, but it wasn’t multicolored. It was white, made of pure magic, and almost too bright to look at directly. There were no irises in her pupils, just the same white as her mane and tail. When she finally spoke, it was the best and worst thing that had ever happened. Her voice was beautiful and painful at the same time. In it were the echoes of power, weakness, joy, misery, love, hate, and many millennia of life. It also brought hope. Not the sound of the voice, but the words it formed. “We are here to help you.” Nopony answered. They were all speechless. They felt the need to bow, but could not make their bodies perform this action. The Upper Being blinked a couple of times, and the brilliant shining light in her eyes, mane, and tail disappeared. The color of her eyes appeared, matching her fur. She spoke again, and this time it was in a normal voice. “Ah, I am sorry about that. The journey from one realm to another uses an awful lot of energy for an Upper Being, and drastically changes their appearance. Allow me to introduce myself. I am Queen Solaria, former ruler of Derantrov, current ruler of the First Realm. Before Equestria was called Equestria, it was called Derantrov. I am the mother of Princess Celestia, Princess Luna, and Prince Silverbolt.” Nopony moved a muscle. Not even a twitch. “Oh dear. It would seem that you are all still in shock. Hmmmm. This could be a problem.” She thought for a second. “Ooooh! I have a fun idea!” She giggled like a little filly. “I’ve always wanted to use this thing.” She walked over to Silverbolt, who was still in shock, and touched her now glowing horn to his metal hoof. It glowed, and sent out a tremor through the floor. That was enough to make everypony come out of their state of shock. “Um- er- “Twilight stuttered as she tried to figure out what to say. “Your majesty! Queen Solaria! Umm, welcome to Equestria… and the Third Realm, I guess.” “Well, thank you Twilight Sparkle. But there is no need to call me “your majesty”. Queen Solaria is fine.” Luna stepped forward. “Mother, I have missed you. It has been over two thousand years since you died.” “Has it? Time passes differently in the First Realm. It feels like it could have been month.” “Guys?” Silverbolt stepped up to stand beside Luna. “I hate to interrupt this lovely conversation, but we can catch up later. Right now we have some big problems. Like taking care of The Darkness.” “Well,” stated Solaria. “You actually have another problem; you just don’t know it yet. I will offer some insight. Have any of you thought about where your friend the Prophet has gone?” “Well, yeah!” answered Rainbow Dash. “He’s right heerrrrrre…. Umm guys? Where did he go?” “I’m right here, of course!” He walked into the Great Hall. His timing was perfect. “I’m not much for fighting, so I was scouting around the castle a bit. And I’ve found something you should see.” “What is it?” asked Twilight. “Just come and see.” With that, he walked out of the room. Silverbolt went after him first, followed by everyone else. Twilight brought up the rear, deep in thought. “We can’t trust him. But I can’t let him know I don’t trust him. I’ll just watch, and make sure he doesn’t do anything suspicious.” The Prophet led the group down a lot of stairs, going lower into the earth than any living pony had ever gone. They were in the catacombs of Canterlot. Finally, they arrived at a small cavern, with the dark maw of a deep cave facing them. “It’s just through here.” “Wait!” Twilight’s yell stopped everypony in their tracks. “Guys, there’s something I haven’t told you. About a week ago, I was visited by myself from the future. She told me not to trust the Prophet. I really don’t think that we should follow him into that cave. I’m also kind of wondering why you all just decided to trust him when we’re at war and you don’t even know him.” She gasped. “Ohmygosh! He must be casting some sort of spell on you to make you trust him!” The Prophet smirked. “Twilight, do you have any idea how ridiculous you sound?” “No!” shouted Silverbolt. “She’s not ridiculous. You’re casting a spell right now, with dark magic. I can feel it! You lied to us!” His horn glowed silver and revealed the dark mist oozing from the Prophet and swirling around everypony present. The Prophet’s smirk turned into a frown. He spoke, and his voice changed drastically. It was much deeper and more evil. “Well, well, well, Twilight Sparkle. You are smarter than I originally thought. It would appear that I have underestimated you. To be honest, which is not something I do often, I had not planned on revealing myself this early in the game. Unfortunately, you have forced my hand. And now, my little, puny ponies, you will feel the might of Dyvrex, general of The Darkness armies.” He grinned. “That’s me, in case you hadn’t guessed!” Dark fog materialized, encircled the group of ponies, and began to drag them into the cave. Silverbolt immediately counteracted Dyvrex’s magic with his own, successfully driving back the fog. “Bah!” shouted Dyvrex. “I am far too limited in this form. But no matter! I only need you!” He turned towards Silverbolt. “Once The Darkness controls your magic, we will rule all of the Realms!” Solaria started walking towards them. “Not so fast, Dyvrex. What makes you think you have a chance against me?” “Me, alone? No chance.” He snickered. “Fortunately, I’m not alone.” He hissed, and a horde of Darkness poured out of the cave. Solaria’s eyes glowed with the magic that only an Upper Being can channel. A Darkness unicorn near her screamed as it glowed, smoked, and dissolved into ash. Then another, and another, and another. Luna strafed the horde with midnight blue beams of magic, mowing down wave after wave of Darkness. Silverbolt, who had never actually shown how powerful he actually was, was at the center of the mob of Darkness. He shot silver bolts of lightning from his horn, and electricity arced from various points on his body, disintegrating countless Darkness ponies. Twilight watched the fight in awe, suddenly feeling a little inferior. She wanted to help, but while learning the magic of friendship, she had never bothered with any battle spells powerful enough. Hundreds of The Darkness had fallen, but more kept coming. The three alicorns all knew that they couldn’t keep up the display forever. They were slowly being overwhelmed, but they had no choice but to keep fighting until their magic was gone. Suddenly the entire cavern shuddered violently. Dyvrex looked around nervously. Twilight heard a noise in the tunnel they had come through. She turned around just in time to see Discord stagger through. He smoking, one horn was on fire, and his eyes were desperately trying to become uncrossed. He was still, however, a welcome sight. “Discord!” yelled Fluttershy, running up to him from the corner where she had been cowering. “Oh dear! Are you okay? Did you get Princess Celestia?” “I’m fine, Fluttershy. Just a bit singed. And yes, I saved Celestia’s life, a fact that I will never let her forget. Unfortunately, being in the Second Realm for so long almost snapped her mind. I left her with the royal medics, but I don’t think she will be fighting anytime soon. Me, on the other hand…” “Discord!” yelled Luna. “Help us!” Dyvrex’s head snapped around to look at Discord. “Get him!” A wave of Darkness surged forward. Discord snapped his fingers and turned them all into pink cupcakes. “In honor of our late friend Pinkie Pie.” he said sadly. All of the remaining Darkness ponies looked around. Now that their ranks had been so drastically thinned, they weren’t so sure that they could win anymore. They all slowly backed up before Silverbolt’s stamped his metal hoof and let the shockwave kill the already weakened Darkness horde. However, it only made Dyvrex stumble a bit. He growled at Silverbolt. “Next time, Silverbaby, you won’t be so lucky. The Darkness will win this war.” His eyes flashed. “But here’s a parting gift. Good luck leaving this place alive!” As he teleported away , a web of cracks spread across the ceiling. Large chunks of rock began to fall. Applejack, Rarity, and Rainbow Dash jumped off the ledge where they had been taking cover. Rainbow Dash immediately ran up to Silverbolt. “Ohmygosh! That. Was. AWESOME! They were all like RAARRGGHH and you were all like ZAP ZAP ZAP and then they all tried to run away and- Oh, sweet Celestia. I sound like Pinkie.” Discord smiled. “Well enough chit-chat. Time is candy! Hehehe.” The smile disappeared. “But really, we should be going. I’m afraid we have some nasty surprises to deal with.” A boulder hit the ground right next to him. “Yeah, we should really be going!” The group began to run towards the tunnel. The ceiling shuddered and broke off more rock, causing some narrow misses with the ponies below. Rarity screamed. “Eeek! There’s some dust on my beautiful coat!” Applejack stopped and stared at her. “Rarity, would y’all stopped whining about-“ She was cut off when a large boulder landed on top of her. “Oh!” Fluttershy turned her head away from the horrible sight. Rarity screamed again and began to try to dig under the boulder, not caring if her coat got dirty. Rainbow Dash flew over and tried to push it off of Applejack. Twilight used her magic to try and move it, but despite all of their efforts, the rock didn’t budge. They finally stopped their efforts when a pool of blood began to seep out from under the chunk of stone. Twilight bowed her head and whispered “She’s dead.” Discord walked over to them. He had a tear rolling down his cheek. “We need to leave. Now.” They all walked away from what was now Applejack’s tombstone. All sense of victory was gone. As they traveled back to the surface, Twilight had one thought running through her head. “We may win this war, but at what price?” Book 1: The Most PowerfulBook 1: The Most Powerful Twilight Sparkle was overjoyed. She had just received a new collection of books from Princess Celestia. She had just sat down when a bright sphere of light appeared in the middle of the room. As it began to glow brighter and more violently, Twilight suddenly recognized it. “That’s the time spell!” she exclaimed. “But why would someone need to use it again?” There was a flash of purple light, and when Twilight looked up, she saw herself standing in the middle of the room. “Okay.” Said future Twilight. “First things first. Has he crashed here yet?” “Who?” asked Twilight. “Okay, so, no. has Applejack harvested the zap apples yet?” “Yes, that was last week, but-“ “Good.” Said future Twilight, sounding very relieved. “That means I’m right on time!” “Alright then.” said Twilight ”I know you only have a minute , so I’ll let you say what you need to.” “Actually,” said future Twilight “we perfected the spell so that it has unlimited time” “Who’s we?” asked Twilight. “Me and Sil-actually, you can’t know that. You might go insane. I can only tell you this: Don’t trust the Prophet. Oh, and be prepared for what’s coming. You will need all of your friends to get through it. I must go know. Things to do!” With a flash and a crackle, she disappeared, leaving a very confused Twilight Sparkle sitting in the middle of her floor. One Week Later It was a beautiful day in Ponyville. Too beautiful. Unnaturally beautiful. Twilight knew already that it wasn’t going to last. The weather pegasi had scheduled a horrendous storm for later that night. She guessed that they were just trying to make everypony feel better about it. As she looked out of the window to enjoy the sunshine, she saw something shiny glinting in the clouds. The thing, whatever it was, then streaked down and landed in the Everfree Forest with a resounding thud. Just when there was silence again, the clouds rolled in and it started to pour. Twilight shut the window and ran downstairs, when suddenly there was a knocking at the door. “What the hay?” she said. “Who in all of Equestria could that be?” She opened the door to find Applejack, Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, Rarity and Fluttershy standing outside. “Hi Twilight.” Began Applejack. “We all just came to see if-“ “LET US IN! ITS FER-REEEEZING OUT HERE!” screamed Pinkie Pie. As they filed in and dried off, Applejack said “As ah was sayin’ Twilight, we all just came to see if you wanted to come with us to find out what crashed in the Everfree Forest.” “No way, girls.” said Twilight. ”It’s too dangerous. We aren’t going unless Princess Celestia herself orders us to.” Just then, Spike came rushing down the stairs. “You have mail!” he yelled, before belching out a tongue of green flame and a scroll. “Dear Twilight Sparkle” he read. “Whatever you do, do NOT go look for what crashed in the forest. I will handle this one. –Princess Celestia” “Wow!” exclaimed Twilight. “I wonder what could be that important! Oh well I'm sure we’ll find out eventually. For now, you guys should just crash here tonight. This storm could last a while.” In the morning, they all woke to a very loud explosion overhead. Then they heard another sound, far away but coming closer very quickly. ClopclopclopCLANGclopclopclopCLANGclopclopclopCLANG! “What in all of Equestria is that!?” yelled Rarity. Then there was a frantic knocking at the door. CLANGCLANGCLANGCLANGCLANG! Twilight slowly opened the door, and then stepped back in surprise to see a handsome male pegasus standing there. “Hello.” He said, in an oddly hypnotic voice. “May I come in for it bit? I need to hide from… someone.” “Um-er-okay, I guess-“ “Thank you” he said. “I'm very sorry about this.” He stepped into her house, and they could all see him clearly. He had dark grey fur, a shining silver mane and tail, and screaming silver eyes. He wore strange armor and had a strange metal contraption on his hoof. “Oh, darling, I simply ADORE your mane! Where did you have it done?” asked Rarity. “Um, I don’t know. I was born with it, I guess.” “Well, it is GORGEOUS. Isn’t that right, Rainbow Dash? Rainbow Dash?” Rainbow Dash stood staring intently at the silver and grey pony. “Uh.” she said. “Yeah! Yeah. Gorgeous. That’s what I was thinking. Um.” “Well, what’s your name?” asked Twilight. “Silverbolt” he said reluctantly. “Don’t be silly!” giggled Pinkie Pie. “You can’t be the Silverbolt. He’s only a legend!” “Pinkie Pie, I’ve never heard of that legend.” said Twilight. “Silverbolt, dear, why don’t you take off your armor and stay for a while?” asked Rarity. “Alright then” said Silverbolt. “I guess I’ll stay for a bit.” He took off his helmet, and everypony gasped in shock. “He’s not a pegasus!” said Rainbow Dash. “He’s an alicorn.” whispered Fluttershy. “Yes” said Silverbolt. “I am.” His horn was the same grey as his fur, with veins of silver running through it. “Ooooo, this is so exiting!” yelled Pinkie Pie “Are you good with magic? Do you know Princess Celestia? Are you her son? Or her cousin? Or her dad? What’s the thing on your hoof? Is it magic? Is it fun? Ooo! IS IT FOOD??? ‘Cause I’m reeaalllyy hungry.” “Er” said the majestic alicorn “Yes. Yes. No. no. Definitely not. It’s a… weapon sort of thing. Um… not really. It can be fun, I guess. And no, I don’t think you could eat it.” “It’s a weapon!?” exclaimed Applejack. “Well then, why do ya' have it?” “Because my hoof was cut off. In the first great Changeling War. My rather annoying little sister did it.” “Who’s your sister?” asked Fluttershy quietly. Suddenly, a massive explosion shook the earth. “BROTHER! COME OUT AND FACE US!” “What?!” exclaimed Twilight. “That-that sounded like Princess Celestia!” “Yes” said Silverbolt “Celestia and Luna are my little sisters. I fought with Queen Chrysalis during the first great Changeling War, at the dawn of Equestria. Chrysalis was… different back then, and I thought that she would make a good ruler of Equestria. The war changed her though. I lost my hoof in battle, sliced off by Celestia’s magic. When the Changelings lost, Celestia imprisoned me beneath her palace, erased all records of me from the world, and then forget about me. ME! While I was in my cell, I practiced my magic. When I was powerful enough, I escaped. That was yesterday. I was hit with some of Luna’s magic, and I crashed in the Everfree Forest. Now, I must go face my sisters.” “Wait!” yelled Twilight. “I’ll go talk to her first!” “That’s not such a-“ began Silverbolt, but Twilight had already walked out of the door. They all heard Twilight, Princess Celestia, and Princess Luna talking quietly for a while, and then Twilight said “Silverbolt, come tell Princess Celestia what you told me.” Silverbolt explained his story to Celestia, and she was quiet for a while. Then she asked Silverbolt “Why didn’t you think I would make a good leader?” “Because she was already a full grown mare,” he answered. “and you were just a teenage filly. And you were the one who started the war in the first place, if I recall correctly.” “Yes, I suppose that you are right, brother. But there is another thing. That cell you were in was protected by ancient magic to prevent anyone from detecting you. You broke that spell when you escaped, and I can’t recast it, for the spell has been lost. I used that spell because I knew that you would become strong, and now you are the most powerful alicorn.” “In the world?” Silverbolt asked, sounding very surprised. “In all the worlds.” replied Luna. “And you know what that means.” “Yes.” said a suddenly very troubled Silverbolt. “More than you think, sister.” “Wait” interrupted Twilight. “What does it mean?” “It means” said Celestia ominously, “that The Darkness is coming.” Author's Note I am planning on making this a series but i dont know when ill have time to finish it so be patient
Book 2: The Eternal Night“MAY I HAVE YOUR ATTENTION PLEASE!” Princess Celestia’s voice echoed through the Great Hall of Canterlot Castle. “And I’m not so sure we will be able to overcome it.”
Book 3: The Death of RoyaltyIt was dark. “Mother!”
Book 4: Return of the SunImmediately, the jaws of everypony in the room dropped. “We may win this war, but at what price?”
Book 1: The Most PowerfulBook 1: The Most Powerful Twilight Sparkle was overjoyed.
