Equestria is broken. After decades of civil war, Nightmare Moon has been banished, her Royal Guard has been destroyed, and the remains of her armies have taken to banditry. Those that worshiped the Goddess of the Night are lost, their faith broken by the might of the Sun and Harmony. A bat pony still loyal to the Lady of the Moon sets out to free her goddess, and in doing so, bring the glory of eternal night to Equestria.
