Chapters Pinkie sat in a chair inside Fluttershy's room and waited for the doctor to finish his checkup. Twilight, having predicted that Pinkie would get sick, called a doctor to diagnose her at Fluttershy's.
Fluttershy was still in her bed but she was feeling guilty for making Pinkie sick. Well maybe she hasn't got chicken pox yet . That thought was quickly dispelled as she saw the doctor finish his examination and proceeded to tell them, that indeed. she was ill.
"Oh, no. Pinkie Pie I am so sorry." Fluttershy was covering her face with the covers and trying not to think about how mad her friend would be.
"Aw, Fluttershy it's okay. I mean you were trying to warn me." Pinkie smiled at Fluttershy and was glad to see that it seemed to have made her feel at least a little better.
"Pinkie Pie, it seems you have chicken pox. I need to advise you to not be around anypony who has not had chicken pox. It is highly contagious. The virus should run its course in about a week."
Pinkie looked at one of her hooves and noticed two small red dots. Uh oh ! "Doctor! I live in Sugarcube Corner and ponies come in there everyday, not to mention there are two foals living there."
The doctor finished packing away his tools before he answered. "Then it would probably be for the best that you don't go there."
Pinkie frowned "But where will I stay for a whole week? I don't have anywhere else to stay!" She sighed.
Fluttershy suddenly thought of a way to solve Pinkie's problem and (hopefully) make it up to her for getting her sick. "Actually you could stay with me, Pinkie."
Pinkie looked up from the floor. "Really?"
Fluttershy nodded. "Since we're both sick there's no harm, and it's the least I could do to for getting you sick."
Pinkie Pie bounced on the bed and enveloped Fluttershy with a bear hug. "Oh thankyouthankyouthankyou! I would have gotten so lonely and bored if I had to stay all by myself." Fluttershy blushed a little when she saw that the doctor was giving them a funny look.
"That would be perfectly fine if you two want to stay together." The doctor grabbed one bottle of medicine. "These should make you feel a lot better, but even though it represses most of the symptoms you are still highly contagious. So no leaving the house."
The doctor began to leave but he stopped to say, "And if you run out of the medicine, ask somepony you know to come to the hospital and bring some back."
"Thank you doctor." Fluttershy whispered.
"Yeah, thanks doc!" Pinkie grinned as the door was shut.
"Uh, Pinkie." Fluttershy nervously started to ask.
"Whats the matter Fluttershy?" Pinkie grinned down at her.
"You're still hugging me, but you don't have to stop if you don't want to." With each word her voice got quieter and quieter.
Pinkie let go of Fluttershy and blushed a little. "Sorry about that Fluttershy, I was excited that you would let me stay with you."
Fluttershy, stopped smiling. "You wouldn't have to stay with me, if I hadn't gotten you sick."
Pinkie stopped Fluttershy from continuing. "Fluttershy I'm not mad. I could never stay mad at you. And it's not your fault! And letting me live here for a week so I wouldn't start hitting my head against the wall in boredom completely makes up for it."
Fluttershy sighed in relief but started coughing badly. Pinkie picked up the medicine bottle and read the back.
"I'll be right back." Pinkie said before walking downstairs into the kitchen. She then filled a cup with water and brought it back to Fluttershy. At least she's stopped coughing .
Pinkie gave Fluttershy two of the small blue pills. "Swallow these, they'll make you feel better." After Fluttershy swallowed the pills Pinkie Pie gave her the cup of water.
Fluttershy was about to thank her friend when she saw Pinkie giggling. "Whats so funny?"
Pinkie laughed. "Normally you're the one who makes ponies feel better."
"Actually it's mostly my critter friends that I help." Fluttershy mumbled while putting the empty cup on the nightstand.
"Don't be modest Fluttershy! Remember when I had that reallyreallyreallyreallyreally bad headache?"
Fluttershy replied, "Yes, you accidentally knocked some bird food over, and Robin pecked you a lot because you were covered in her food. I gave her a stern talking to about not doing that to other creatures."
Pinkie absentmindedly rubbed her left foreleg. "I do remember that, but what I was getting at is you made some fancy herb thingy to get rid of my headache."
"Oh it was no trouble at all." Fluttershy face was hidden behind her mane.
"Fluttershy, I'm one of your best friends, you don't have to be nervous around me." Pinkie replied.
"I'm sorry, I won't be nervous...um, if that's okay." Fluttershy mumbled.
She needs to learn to be a little less shy . Pinkie thought, but it is so cute when she does that . Whoa, Pinkie ! What was that last thought ? Probably just me feeling bad (right?)
"Well, you don't need to be Fluttershy. You're my best friend!" Pinkie said as she looked outside. Well It looks like Luna's raising the moon .
"Really?" Fluttershy asked as she peeked out from inside her pink hair barrier.
Pinkie nodded. "Why do you think I was so excited that I could spend a whole week with one of my friends, instead of being all lonesome." Pinkie headed towards the door. "Well G'night Fluttershy!"
Fluttershy flew out of her bed and landed in front of Pinkie. "Oh no Pinkie. You can sleep in my bed, I'll sleep on the couch."
"It's your house Fluttershy! And besides you're sick." Pinkie said as she tried to get around Fluttershy.
"I couldn't let one of my friends sleep on the couch, and besides you're sick too." She pointed to the mirror on the wall above the dresser. Pinkie looked in the mirror and noticed three or four red dots had popped up on her face. But it still wasn't as bad as Fluttershy's face.
"Fluttershy I don't mind sleeping on the couch. I Pinkie Promise not to eat one of your pillows in my sleep."
Fluttershy gave Pinkie Pie a puzzled look but decided against asking for clarification to why Pinkie would eat her pillows. "I insist Pinkie, I wouldn't be a good hostess if I didn't."
Pinkie inwardly sighed. This will go on all night if we don't find a compromise . "Fluttershy, lets stop this silly argument. How about we both sleep in your bed?"
Fluttershy blushed madly. "Bu-Um-I don't-"
Pinkie wanted to giggle at Fluttershy's stuttering but if she wanted them both to have a good nights sleep she would have to get her to agree."No need to get all flustered Fluttershy. I'll be on the other side of the bed and this way we can both be comfortable."
Fluttershy was about to protest but Pinkie started pushing her back towards her bed while saying, "C'mon Fluttershy you're feeling bad, and right now I am your caretaker so what I say goes." Fluttershy just yawned and looked about ready to fall asleep standing up.
Wow , I thought it take a lot more persuading . Pinkie Pie helped Fluttershy into bed and then she climbed on the other side, making sure to give Fluttershy her space.
"Goodnight Fluttershy." Pinkie yawned.
Fluttershy sleepily mumbled, "Good night don't let the bed bugs bite."
Pinkie shot out of the bed like a rocket and yelled, "YOU HAVE BED BUGS!?!"
Not The Best Way To Start The Day
Bright sunlight streamed through the half closed curtains and found its way into Pinkie Pie's face. Pinkie sleepily blinked her eyes open, sapped of her usual energy. Pinkie rolled over to try and get a few more precious minutes of sleep.
But she found herself face to face with Fluttershy. Pinkie gave a small yelp and quickly moved away from her sleeping friend, accidentally falling out of the bed. Pinkie tried in vain not to fall off of the bed by grabbing the blanket. But all that managed to do was drag Fluttershy down with her.
"Ow!" Pinkie said as she hit the floor. Trying to get up she found that Fluttershy was laying horizontally on her stomach. And she was still sleeping. Pinkie looked over at the medicine bottle. May cause extreme drowsiness Pinkie read off of the label.
Pinkie laid on the floor for another minute. Well as long as I''m awake I should wake her up too . Pinkie began poking Fluttershy on the forehead while saying "Wakey, wakey sleepyhead!"
Fluttershy's eyes suddenly shot open. She didn't recognize where she was right away so In a panic she started flailing her hooves and accidentally hit Pinkie.
"Hey! That hurt!" Pinkie frowned.
Fluttershy's eyes adjusted and realized that she was still in her room and had just punched her best friend. I can't do anything right . she mentally chided herself while she hurriedly apologized.
"Pinkie I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to hurt you, I was just a little freaked out! Please don't be mad!" Fluttershy stammered out while Pinkie just smiled.
"Oh it was just a mistake Fluttershy! I'd probably be scared too." Pinkie was then helped up off of the floor by Fluttershy. "Besides, I've never woken up that way before." Pinkie just kept grinning and slowly Fluttershy's frown went away.

Fluttershy insisted that Pinkie put a band aide over the small mark. Even though it didn't hurt anymore Pinkie put it on anyway. I hope she doesn't feel guilty for too long !
Oh I cant do anything right ! Fluttershy chided herself once again. Looking at Pinkie who was standing beside her walking down the stairs she noticed many more red dots. First I make her sick, then I punch her in the face !
As Pinkie Pie was about to suggest sugar cookies for breakfast somepony knocked on the door. It was followed by a pony's voice.
"Fluttershy? It's me, Twilight." Fluttershy hovered over to the door and opened it.
"Why hello Twilight. Why don't you come in? I mean if that's okay with you..." Fluttershy whispered.
Twilight walked inside the home and Fluttershy flew into the kitchen muttering "I'll make some tea."
Twilight smiled "I'm glad to see that you're feeling better." She then looked over to the couch and saw Pinkie Pie. "Oh! Hey, Pinkie. What are doing here so early?" Twilight asked curiously.
Pinkie bounced off of the couch and landed in front of Twilight. "Hey Twi! Guess what!"
Twilight grinned "What?"
Pinkie exclaimed "I'm living with Fluttershy!" She then pointed to the bandage on her cheek "And this morning she punched me in the face!" Pinkie giggled.
Twilight didn't expect that "Uhmm...what? She punched you!?"
Pinkie frowned "Well actually it was a mistake. When we were sleeping together she fell on top of me and started freaking out!" Pinkie saw Twilight blush.
Twilight coughed "Umm Okay Pinkie Pie" I am going to regret asking this, aren't I ? "Why are you living with Fluttershy?"
Fluttershy overheard the conversation in the living room. The tea had been done minutes ago but she was to embarrassed to walk back in there just yet.
Pinkie coughed a couple of times. "Well I have chicken pox too, so me and Fluttershy are staying together so we can have some company! And I don't want the Cakes to get sick!"
Twilight frowned "Have you told them that your staying here?"
Pinkie nodded "Of course silly filly! I made sure to-." Pinkie stopped talking when, in fact, she realized that she didn't tell the Cakes. "Actually I'm the silly filly! Could you tell them for me Twi? Please!?"
"Sure thing Pinkie Pie." Twilight grinned.
Fluttershy flew into the room with three cups and a tea pot. "I made honeysuckle, I hope everypony likes it." Pinkie got hers first and poured three entire sugar packet into the tea.
"Thank you for the tea Fluttershy." Twilight said to her.
Fluttershy started to cough "It was no trouble at all."
Pinkie Pie took notice of Fluttershy coughing and she noticed she didn't feel so frosty herself.
"Hey Fluttershy, are you starting to feel icky again?" Pinkie asked.
Fluttershy nodded and rubbed her forehead "Yeah Pinkie. I'm starting to get another headache."
"Okie Dokie Lokie! I'll be right back." Pinke exclaimed before walking up the stairs. I need one of those pills too, now I'm starting to feel bad.

Fluttershy was drinking tea when Twilight abruptly broke the silence.
"So I hear you hit Pinkie Pie?" Fluttershy spit out the tea she was drinking.
"It was an accident! I would never hurt another pony on purpose." Fluttershy stammered out.
Twilight giggled "I know it was an accident, but I just wanted to ask you what happened."
Fluttershy frowned "I'm not sure what happened." She whispered "I just woke up on top of Pinkie Pie on the floor." Her face blushed a little "Oh my that sounds..." Fluttershy broke it off there.
Twilight cleared her throat "Yeah that does sound kind of weird. But there was something else I was wondering."
Fluttershy waited for her to continue.
"Why did you invite Pinkie Pie to stay with you for a whole week? Don't get me wrong, she's a really nice pony. But you two are so different." Twilight wondered.
Fluttershy replied "Actually she's hasn't done anything too extreme...yet." Fluttershy smiled "And Pinkie is such a nice pony, I'm glad that she has some company, even if it's only me."
Their conversation was interrupted by Pinkie Pie bounding down the stairs. Pinkie Pie ran into the room and handed Fluttershy two pills while she downed two as well.
Twilight got out of the chair "Well it was nice seeing you girls, but I need to get home."
Pinkie frowned "Aww, but why so soon?"
Twilight glanced out of the window "A pretty bad storm is coming."
Unnoticed by either Twilight or Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy gulped.
"A-a storm?" Fluttershy mumbled from behind her pink mane.
Twilight nodded "I'll try to stop by tomorrow." Twilight waved goodbye as she left the cottage.
Pinkie waved bye "See ya later alligator!"
Fluttershy was to distracted to properly say goodbye by what looked like storm clouds in the distance.

Sorry if this isn't an amazing chapter. the next one will probably be better all around.
It had been a few hours after Twilight had left, and Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy were doing separate things. Pinkie was baking some cookies for later while Fluttershy was feeding all the animals living in the house.
Pinkie Pie hummed tunelessly while mixing the batter for her patented "Super Chocolatey Sugary Cookies." She glanced over at Fluttershy who was reading a magazine, but she kept looking out the window. What's up with her ?
Fluttershy saw that Twilight was right about the storm. The dark clouds that had begun off in the distance were now closer to Ponyville than before. Fluttershy didn't notice that Pinkie Pie had walked up behind her until she heard Pinkie said "Whatcha staring at?"
Fluttershy gave a yelp and fell to the floor. Pinkie held out a hoof. "I'm sorry Fluttershy, I shouldn't have sneaked up on you." Fluttershy took her hoof, and once she was back up Pinkie repeated the question.
"So, what were you looking at?" Pinkie asked while looking out the window for whatever had caught her friends interest.
I can't tell her . Fluttershy managed to stammer out what sounded like "The-the birds." Fluttershy hoped that Pinkie would buy it.
Pinkie looked around for the said birds "I guess they flew off 'Shy. Sorry if I scared them." Pinkie began trotting back into the kitchen "After the cookies are in the oven we can eat some dinner."
Fluttershy gave a sigh of relieve. I wish I didn't have to lie to Pinkie .
Pinkie went back into the kitchen and resumed humming. Why did she lie to me ? Looking back towards Fluttershy she shrugged. She probably has a good reason .

The sun was setting as Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy began to play board games. After a dinner of tulip sandwiches and cookies with tons of sugar in them, they started playing checkers to pass the time. About halfway through the first game the storm started, and Pinkie Pie found out why Fluttershy had been acting nervous all afternoon.
The sound of thunder in the distance caused Fluttershy to flinch. Pinkie Pie took notice and asked "Is that what you were worried about all day? The silly storm?"
Fluttershy muttered "We-well I don't like thunder and lightning." Another clap of thunder could be heard only closer this time, and Fluttershy gave a start "E-especially thunder."
Pinkie laughed "Is that all?" But she stopped laughing when she saw tears welling in Fluttershy's eyes. Pinkie went over to her and hugged her.
"I wasn't laughing at you Fluttershy, I was just worried that what would make you so nervous would be really bad."
Fluttershy sighed "Its fine, r-really. I'll just try and go to sleep before before it really s-starts."
Pinkie thought for a moment. "Well at least you'll be able to sleep alone tonight."
Fluttershy replied "I suppose, I just hope that it isn't to loud. I don't want to get scared and fall off the couch."
Pinkie shook her head "Fluttershy, you are sleeping in your own bed tonight." Fluttershy was about to protest but Pinkie shushed her.
"We are not gonna start this again, I'm sleeping down here. End of conversation." Pinkie crossed her hooves.
Fluttershy sighed "Fine..." Pinkie blinked in surprise. Was that really so easy ?
Pinkie grinned "Well lets keep playing now that that's out of the way."
Fluttershy jumped one of Pinkie's checkers "King me...please?"

The sound of rain hitting the the window had a very calming effect on Fluttershy. But every now and then there was a flash of lightning and a clap of thunder. Fluttershy was curled in a ball under her covers trying desperately to push the storm out if her mind.
In the brief moments when there was no thunder, Fluttershy could hear Pinkie Pie snoring downstairs. How can she sleep through this noise ? Fluttershy flinched at yet another boom of thunder.
Fluttershy remembered when the thunder didn't bother her, when she could find solace with her mother like all other scared fillies and colts. When she could just walk into her parents room and sleep with them.
Fluttershy heard the snoring of Pinkie Pie from downstairs again, it gave the scared pegasus an idea. Should I ? I don't want her to think I'm such a scaredy pony . She contemplated staying up all night jumping at every boom of thunder. After a few minutes Fluttershy climbed out from under the sheets and made her way downstairs.
Fluttershy hovered over the floor as to not make any floorboards creak as she made her way to the living room. Fluttershy went over to the couch where Pinkie was sleeping and lightly tapped her on the back while whispering "Pinkie Pie..."
After a few minutes of trying to wake Pinkie up, she turned over and blearily opened her eyes.
"Why did you wake me up Fluttershy?" Pinkie yawned while trying to keep her eyes open.
Fluttershy bowed her head and said in a hushed tone "I...can't sleep." From the window above the couch a bright flash could be seen, followed by a crash of thunder.
Pinkie Pie yawned "It's okay Fluttershy." She then patted the inside part of the couch "There's room for one more."
Fluttershy beamed and climbed on the couch with Pinkie. It was a tight fit however and Fluttershy had to scrunch up against Pinkie.
"Sorry if there's not a lot of room." Pinkie said while Fluttershy tried to get comfortable. But another clap of thunder made her grab Pinkie Pie and bury her face in her stomach.
Wow this storm is really getting to her . Pinkie didn't really know what to do besides try and comfort her distraught friend. She began humming her "Giggle at the Ghosties" song and started stroking Fluttershy's mane.
Fluttershy tensed somewhat at the hoof running through her mane. But it slowly calmed her down and Fluttershy began to get comfortable. Pinkie kept softly humming the song until Fluttershy's breathing sounded like that of a sleeping pony. Pinkie smiled sleepily and stifled a yawn, she listened to the pitter patter of rain for awhile .
Pinkie Pie looked at Fluttershy and without thinking about it gave her a light kiss on the head "Good night." Pinkie whispered before falling asleep herself.
The sun streamed through the window lighting up the dark room. However the two ponies sleeping were not woken up by it. Pinkie finally woke up when the sunlight hit her right in the face. She blinked her eyes open and tried to get up.
But she was surprised when she felt hooves tightening around her. Pinkie looked at Fluttershy who had clung on to her all night, still using Pinkie as a pillow. Then the end of last night came back to her.
Did I really kiss her ? It may have only been on the head, but friends don't kiss each other ! Pinkie Pie kept going over why she did it in her mind until she heard Fluttershy talk in her sleep.
Fluttershy buried her face more into Pinkie's stomach and muttered "Pinkie...you're so...comfy." Pinkie blushed a little.
As much as Pinkie wanted to stay in that position longer (Why do I want that!?) she needed to get Fluttershy up. The medicine had worn off and Pinkie was beginning to feel bad again.
Just as she was about to get up she stopped and looked back at Fluttershy. Why can't I just get up !? Maybe just a few more minutes...I mean sleep is what I need if I'm sick . Right ?
So Pinkie Pie began to go back to sleep, trying not to think about the reason why. But the reason was in the back of her mind, just out of reach. Pinkie wasn't sure if she was ready to find out what the reason was.

Angel was not happy to find that Fluttershy was still sleeping instead of making his breakfast. So he decided to wake her up himself. Angel began tossing small carrots at Fluttershy's head until she picked her head off of Pinkie Pie.
Fluttershy opened her eyes and was surprised by how bright it was in the house. She shielded her eyes against the hurtful sunlight. After her vision adjusted, she realized that Angel was the one to wake her up.
"Good morning Angel bunny." Fluttershy smiled.
Angel impatiently tapped his foot on the ground, and pointed to his stomach. This seemed to get his point across, as Fluttershy apologized for not getting him breakfast.
Fluttershy hopped off the couch and headed to the kitchen so she could feed Angel and the many other animals, living with her.
After checking to make sure that all the animals that needed her her help to get food, had food. And that Angel's salad had just the right amount of lettuce in it; she made herself some oatmeal. Before eating it she began coughing.
Oh ! I haven't taken the pills yet . Fluttershy had brought them downstairs last night after the game of checkers she had with...Pinkie Pie! She hasn't had her medicine either .
As if on cue, Pinkie began coughing in the other room. Fluttershy quickly got up and brought the medicine in the living room.
Pinkie groaned. This is so much worse than I thought it would be .
"Are you feeling okay Pinkie?" Fluttershy asked worriedly.
Pinkie Pie shook her head "I haven't felt this bad since me and Applejack made those cupcakes."
Fluttershy handed her two pills and before screwing the top back on noted that there were only two left. I need to ask somepony to get us some more of these .
Pinkie Pie swallowed the pills and was glad to find out that immediately she felt at least a little bit better.
"Wow! I'm feeling better already!" Pinkie exclaimed.
"It's amazing what modern medicine can do." Fluttershy said.
Then asked Pinkie in a cheerful voice "So what would you like to do today?
Pinkie turned around to look at Fluttershy but her response died in her throat. The sun was in just the right position to give Fluttershy an almost ethereal glow as she hovered. Pinkie then noticed many details about Fluttershy that she never had before.
Like how her pretty mane was not brushed but that only added to the effect , and her beautiful blue eyes. Everything about her was perfect. How she was so sweet and kind. Her friendliness to all creatures.
Then in an instant everything went back to normal, and Pinkie found herself staring at a confused looking Fluttershy.
"Is there something wrong?" Fluttershy asked worriedly.
Pinkie Pie's face turned red and she gulped. "Uh-um-a-I..." Pinkie started stammering before exclaiming "I GOTTA GO!!" and running upstairs.
Fluttershy was about to follow but heard a door slam shut and the click of a lock.
What's gotten into her? Fluttershy frowned before heading into the living room to attend to a family of homeless mice. It's probably best to leave her alone for awhile, she's probably just feeling bad .

Pinkie Pie didn't care where she was going. All she cared about was getting away. She ran into the first door she could reach upstairs and slammed it shut. After locking it she sat down and looked around the room. She had just locked herself in a bathroom...just as good a place as any to PANIC!
What is wrong with me !? Pinkie started pacing around the small room. First the kiss , then thinking about how (incredibly) gorgeous Flutterhsy is . Why am I acting like this ! Pinkie Pie looked in the mirror.
"It's gotta be the chicken pox...right?" She asked her reflection. Pinkie didn't expect an answer. It can't be that I like her . Well of course I like her , but in the way friends do .
But you wish you were more than friends don't you ? Brain! I thought I told you to keep quiet!
"...But she's one of your best friends." Pinkie said aloud trying to reason with herself. Somehow she had begun to develop feelings for Fluttershy that weren't normal. And the more she tried to convince herself otherwise, the more they started sounding like weak excuses.
"I...I like Fluttershy" Pinkie Pie admitted to herself aloud. Pinkie started to smile a little.
It felt like a heavy weight had been lifted off of her shoulders, sure she had a crush on her female best friend; but at least she recognized it. Amongst these confused feelings of happiness, nervousness, and a little bit of laughter, she thought of something not so good.
I'm living with her for the next five days ! How will I hide it from her ? I freaked out this morning ! How do I explain that !?
Pinkie was interrupted from her fast paced thinking by a knock on the door, followed by "Pinkie Pie...are you in there?"
Oh no its Fluttershy ! Pinkie started to freak out again. What am I going to do ? That thought stopped her frantic pacing. What am I going to do ? Pinkie didn't know, but right now she was going to play it cool and figure that out later. Right now I just need to act normal, and later tonight I'll decide what to do .
"Yeah Fluttershy, I'm in here." Pinkie opened the door and was glad to see the pegasus, even if she was the cause of her problems.
Can You Keep A Secret?
Fluttershy was a little worried. Pinkie Pie was unusually quiet, and she seemed to be distracted. As of now Pinkie Pie was looking out the window with a furrowed brow. Fluttershy was drinking some tea and as soon as she finished the cup she walked into the living room.
I better ask her what's wrong . Just as Fluttershy was opening her mouth there was a knock at the door. Who could that be ?
"Hello? Fluttershy? Pinkie Pie?" Rarity's unmistakable voice called from behind the door. Fluttershy swiftly crossed the room and opened the door.
"Good afternoon Rarity." Fluttershy whispered.
"Fluttershy! You look dreadful." Rarity said in surprise, then realizing how that sounded said "I mean it looks like you are not feeling well."
Fluttershy gave a small chuckle "I know what you meant, don't worry." Fluttershy motioned for Rarity to come inside.
After Rarity came in she looked around for Pinkie Pie "Hello Pinkie Pie! How might you be feeling?"
Pinkie was snapped out of her thoughts "Oh hiya Rarity." She grinned, but without her usual energy.
Rarity chalked it up to the sickness. Poor dear .
"I've been better, but Fluttershy is an awesome hostess!" Pinkie said with some renewed vigor.
"That's good." Rarity replied noticing her sudden change in attitude. Rarity was about to ask if anything was on Pinkie's mind, but she then remembered another reason for her visit.
"Oh! I almost forgot." Rarity began "The Cakes say 'hello', and they want to know how you are feeling as well."
Pinkie grinned "Aww! That's sweet! Tell them I've been feeling-" Pinkie Pie thought about how she felt "good." She finally decided.
Rarity started talking with Fluttershy about some of the latest fashion. But Pinkie tuned them out. I need help , but should I tell her ? I just can't decide what to do! I still can't look at Fluttershy without blushing .
Pinkie was torn, but before she could try and talk herself out of it blurted out "Rarity! I need to tell you something."
Rarity raised an eyebrow "What is it you want to tell me?"
Pinkie Pie gulped. No backing out now. "W-well...it's kind of a personal matter." Pinkie looked upstairs "Can we talk somewhere more private?"
This piqued Rarity's interest. "Sure, darling. Fluttershy! We will be right back." She said before walking up the stairs.
Pinkie Pie nervously laughed "Y-yeah...I'll be right back!" She said in Fluttershy's general direction, before running up the stairs.
Fluttershy was more confused as ever. Well , this has been one strange day . Fluttershy heard the familiar click of a lock. I really shouldn't ...but I can't resist . Something was up with Pinkie Pie, and Fluttershy wanted to know. It's not like she was a nosy sort of pony or anything like that, but if there was something wrong she wanted to help Pinkie.
Fluttershy tried to float up the stairs as quietly as possible, while listening for voices. Once she got up to the bathroom door, she put one ear to the door and listened quietly. I really shouldn't . But Pinkie had been really nice to her the past few day's, and Fluttershy would be love to repay the favor. Her conflicting thoughts were put on hold as she heard her own name being mentioned. Okay maybe I'll listen for just a little bit .

Rarity was led into the upstairs bathroom by Pinkie Pie who locked the door and listened for approaching hoofsteps. Rarity looked around, puzzled.
"Um, Pinkie?" Pinkie Pie looked at Rarity "Why are we in bathroom? Also, why the need to be so secretive? I am happy that you want to tell me something seemingly important to you, but why keep Fluttershy out of the loop?"
Pinkie whispered "Ssshh! Keep your voice down! It IS about Fluttershy...mostly!" Rarity after hearing this let out a little "Ohhh!"
"What ever is so important about dear Fluttershy?" Rarity asked eager to find out what this big secret was.
Pinkie shook her head "First you have to Pinkie Promise not to tell anypony!"
Rarity preformed the steps saying the words needed. "Now please tell me Pinkie! I am simply dieing of anticipation!" Rarity smiled.
Pinkie sighed "Okay, well...I sort off, kind off have a teensy, weensy." Pinkie sighed again "Actually it's more of a humongous crush that I have on Fluttershy." Pinkie clamped her hooves over her mouth. I didn't mean to just blurt it out ! Rarity's jaw dropped and she just stared at Pinkie Pie. Maybe this wasn't the best idea ?
Pinkie's smile was dashed in an instant "I know its weird, but please don't think of me differently! You're one of my bestest friends!" Pinkie Pie pleaded.
Rarity closed her mouth and cleared her throat. "Sorry, if my reaction was less than happy but you surprised me." Giving a small 'ahem' she continued "But I am very happy that you have found a col-er, filly." Rarity smiled at Pinkie's confused expression.
"So...you're not weirded out or anything?" Pinkie tentatively asked.
Rarity shook her head "Of course not Pinkie! I will always support my friends, and I must say you two will make such a cute couple!" Rarity frowned "Sorry if I'm acting slightly uncouth, I'm just so happy that you have a special somepony!"
Pinkie blushed "I haven't told her yet, and I don't think she knows."
Rarity gave her a comforting look "Well, when you decide what to do; you know where to find me. And remember if you need any advice or help, just ask."
Fir the first time that day, Pinkie felt better. "You're awesome Rarity!" Pinkie then tackled her with a bear hug. I have the best friends .

Fluttershy slowly took her ear away from the door, her face beet red. Pinkie Pie is a lesbian...and has a crush on me?! Fluttershy didn't know how to feel. Flattered, creeped out, a little nervous.
Fluttershy flew into her room and closed the door. Do I like her back though ? Well I always have liked mares more than stallions . But she's your best friend ! But at the same time she's so nice , carefree , and always makes sure I'm happy . Plus she likes me!
Her thoughts returned to the previous night where she slept with Pinkie. She made me feel safe , and she was so soft ...snap out of it Fluttershy! You need to think about this. What do I do now ? While she was thinking, the talking in the bathroom turned to actual whispers, and Fluttershy couldn't hear any of it.
She heard the door to the bathroom open and the sound of hoofsteps. She quickly pretended to snore. I need to really think about this, and I can't have any distractions .

Rarity and Pinkie Pie heard the snoring and looked at each other. I guess sleeping in late wasn't enough for her . Pinkie thought. She quietly ushered Rarity outside and closed the door.
"See ya Rarity! And thanks for the advice." Pinkie animatedly waved.
Rarity smiled "You're very welcome Pinkie." As she was walking away she turned her head back and said "And do let me know how your plan works out!"
Pinkie Pie blushed "Sure thing Rarity."
Closing the door Pinkie gulped. Well...it looks like I'm going to do it .
The Calm Before The Storm
Pinkie Pie sat at the kitchen table and thought of the ways that she could tell Fluttershy about her crush. I don't want to scare her off or anything .
So how should I do it ? Pinkie Pie sighed. I guess I just have to tell her, and soon . Pinkie began to cough badly and looked around for the medicine, she opened the bottle and looked at it with dismay.
There were only two pills left. Pinkie Pie facehoofed. Rarity was just here ! I should have noticed that we were low on pills ! With only two left, only one pony could take them and have the full effect.
Pinkie looked out of the window and saw the sun setting. It's too late to hope anypony will stop by, and I can't go into town ! Pinkie herd a small cough from upstairs. Bringing the bottle with her Pinkie murmured aloud "It's only for one night...how bad could it be?"

Fluttershy had stayed in her room all day trying to think of how to handle her problem. One one hoof, Pinkie was one of her best friends. But on the other hoof Pinkie actually liked her.
Fluttershy mulled over her predicament for awhile, coming to no conclusion. Why do I have to be so shy ?! I'm so confused and even if I decide I like her too, there's no way I could tell her ! I need some fresh air .
Fluttershy walked over to the window and opened it glad to feel a nice cool breeze. Fluttershy gave a small smile. It's not like I have to do anything about it yet . I should just wait and she what Pinkie is going to do, if she does do something about her crush . Besides, she's only here for a few more days .
Fluttershy began to cough, and the slight refreshing wind became chilling. Closing the window Fluttershy shivered and headed for the door. As she was about to open the door she was stopped by a knock and Pinkie's voice.
"Fluttershy? Are you okay?" Pinkie said while knocking.
Fluttershy took a deep breath and replied "I've felt better..." Fluttershy grinned feeling considerably happier than before "Come in...that is, if you want to..."
Pinkie Pie trotted into the room with a big smile on her face as well. Just seeing Fluttershy made Pinkie feel warm and a little giddy. That's new .
Pinkie shook out the remaining pills, shielding the inside of the now empty bottle from Fluttershy's view
"I thought you might need some of these!" Pinkie said.
Fluttershy gave a look of surprise "How did you know?"
Pinkie Pie beamed "I heard you coughing, and I knew you needed something to help you feel better! I would hate for you to have to feel all icky!"
Fluttershy looked at the ground and blushed. She really wants to take care if me .
Pinkie Pie was blushing as well. Was that a little too much ? Seeing Fluttershy try to hide her face behind her mane and look at the floor was so cute though...worth it .
Fluttershy muttered "Thank you." Then she swallowed the last of the pills.
Pinkie Pie suppressed a cough, and looked at a clock beside the mirror. It was almost time for them to get some sleep, and that sounded perfect to Pinkie. For some reason she had become a little bit tired.
Pinkie Pie knew she should ask Fluttershy, but she didn't want to make her feel bad. Deciding it was for the best Pinkie asked "Are you going to be able to sleep okay tonight?"
Fluttershy nodded "I'm sorry...its just that I don't like storms."
Pinkie grinned "Well that's good." Why can't storms come around more often !? "So you won't be sleeping with me?"
Fluttershy's eye's shot open "You want to sleep with me!?" She said with a small squeak.
Pinkie shrugged, not noticing the way Fluttershy was acting. "Well, if you're gonna be scared again then I should sleep up here with you. Or should I sleep on the couch?"
She didn't mean it like that ! What is wrong with you ! Fluttershy calmed down and was about to say she would prefer Pinkie Pie sleep on the couch. I mean, if you just found out you're friend has a crush on you, would you sleep with them ?
But before she could say that, she remembered how comfortable she had been with Pinkie last night. Maybe...it couldn't hurt . Fluttershy sighed aloud. Why can't I just decide on something !
Pinkie frowned and tapped Fluttershy on the forehead "Earth to Fluttershy, I sort of need an answer."
Fluttershy blinked snapped out of her thoughts (What's Earth?). "Ummm...I would like it if you stayed in here. If that's okay with you of course..." half hoping she'd say no Fluttershy managed a small smile.
Pinkie hopped over to Fluttershy "Of course its okay with me!" She then gave Fluttershy a bone-crushing bear hug.
Fluttershy gasped out "You're...hurting...me." Pinkie let go of her and gave her a timid smile.
"Heh Heh, sorry..." Pinkie said.

Pinkie Pie was so close to getting away with it. Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie were enjoying some brownies when Pinkie had a coughing fit.
Fluttershy looked at her with worry "Pinkie Pie, did you take any medicine?"
Pinkie Pie glanced around the room, not meeting the pegasus's eyes "Y-yeah, I took them before I brought you some." Pinkie finally looked at Fluttershy and saw that she wasn't buying it.
Fluttershy stared at Pinkie, and then at the bottle. After a few moments Fluttershy went over to the sink and picked up the medicine bottle. After looking inside it she stared back at Pinkie.
"You gave me the last of it...didn't you?" Fluttershy asked in an accusatory tone. It was a very sweet thing to do, but I'd rather be feeling sick than Pinkie Pie !
"I'm sorry Fluttershy! But I knew you wouldn't take the medicine if you knew I wasn't going to have any. Besides" Pinkie grinned "it's only for one night, I think that I'll be okay." Pinkie tried to stifle a cough, but Fluttershy noticed.
Fluttershy still wasn't convinced, but there was nothing to be done now. Pinkie Pie finished her brownie and patted Fluttershy on the head "Don't worry Flutters, what's done is done. Now." Pinkie suddenly gained a serious face. "I need to ask you something."
Fluttershy visibly paled. Is she going to tell me ! How do I respond to that ! Gulping, Fluttershy stammered out a yes.
"I have...to have more of these brownies! Is there any left?" Pinkie beamed.
Fluttershy's left eye twitched a couple of times. I have the worst headache .
"Yeah, there are a few in the cabinet..." Fluttershy sighed and started to head for her bedroom "I'm going to sleep."
Pinkie gasped "It's that late already! I'll be right there!" Pinkie picked up the last three chocolate brownies and swallowed them in one go.

Derpy was busily fixing tomorrows schedule. There were supposed to only be a few scattered cumulus clouds. But it was getting late, and Derpy's eyes began to droop. Derpy tried to focus both eyes on the paper, to no avail. After a few more minutes of writing the weather schedule she shivered a little.
Boy it sure is cold outside . Derpy absentmindedly picked up a stamp in her mouth and stamped the paper, before leaving the office.
"Rainbow Dash is gonna be proud of me!" Derpy said to herself "Maybe she'll let me make more schedules!"
A few hours later, before Celestia had even raised the sun, one of the weather captains looked through the schedule. Scratching his head Current murmured "That's strange..."
Giving a shrug Current copied the form. "I guess Ponyville is gonna get snow early this year." Delivering the copies to the other weather captains he decided not to question it.
Author's Note
This took way longer to write than it should have, but I think my writers block is almost gone. So I hope you like the chapter.
Fluttershy and Pinkie weren't sleeping well. Pinkie Pie was facing the window and couldn't sleep. She needed to tell Fluttershy! It was beginning to really affect Pinkie, she needed to say something!
I'll tell her in the morning , Pinkie thought. With butterflies in her stomach, and in her thoughts; she tried to get some sleep. I also need to try and get some more pills . She shivered even under the warm covers.
Fluttershy was really warm...no . That's probably a bad way to let her know that I like her . Closing her eye's Pinkie Pie fell into an uncomfortable sleep.
At the same time, just in the other side of the bed, Fluttershy was awake as well.
Fluttershy still hadn't reached a conclusion, this worried her more than she cared to admit. What is wrong with me ? Glancing over at the sleeping form of Pinkie she noticed that she was shivering.
Without thinking about it she scooted a little closer to Pinkie and reached over to the end of the bed and placed an extra blanket over her.
Lying back down on her side of the bed, a new thought entered her head. Maybe I'm over thinking this...I mean, it's about how I feel . Yawning she stopped thinking about it. If the times comes I'll trust my heart .
Falling into a much better sleep than her companion, they both lightly snored while snow began to fall outside.

The snow blanketed all of Ponyville, maybe it was more like covered it. Not only was the weather wrong, so was the amount. Nopony was outside, except for the poor ponies that had to brave the weather.
Nopony even thought about checking on Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy. It crossed Twilight's mind, but she decided that it could wait till tomorrow. I mean what could go wrong over there ?

Fluttershy woke up to the cold air. In the middle of the night Pinkie Pie had rolled around and stole all of the covers. Blinking at the bright sunlight she was surprised to find the ground blanketed with snow.
Oh no ! Nopony would visit us in this weather . How will I get Pinkie her medicine ?! Climbing out of the bed she racked her brain for a solution.
Maybe I can make some medicine from the herbs I have ? It would have to do for now, at least until she could think of a better idea. Going downstairs Fluttershy began gathering the few medicinal herbs she had left, if it were earlier in the year she would have had a lot more.
While Fluttershy began brew the plants, Pinkie woke up. Slowly opening her eyes Pinkie shivered and tried to go back to sleep. Last nights decision was at the back of her mind, right now she was too tired to act on it though.
Drifting back to sleep Pinkie noticed Fluttershy was gone. Where could she be ? Shrugging it off Pinkie Pie drifted back to sleep.

Fluttershy sat on the bed beside Pinkie, waiting for her to wake up. Pinkie seemed to be doing fine but Fluttershy wanted to make sure that she would be okay.
Laying down on the bed Fluttershy thought about how things would turn out. In a few days everything would become normal again, Pinkie and I won't be sick...and she won't be living with me . That last thought made her feel a little sad.
Staring up at the ceiling she returned to the thoughts of things being normal again. They won't be though . I have to confront her about this if she doesn't . Even though it would be awkward I can't just let Pinkie bottle this inside her .
Sighing Fluttershy wished that her relationship with Pinkie hadn't become so confusing. Why can't things go back to normal ?
She was interrupted from her thoughts as Pinkie Pie finally woke up. Sneezing a few times, Pinkie Pie blinked her eyes open. As she was about to get up Fluttershy immediately gently pushed her back down.
"You aren't feeling well, what you need is to lie down." Fluttershy said while handing Pinkie the small cup "Drink this, it will make you feel a little better."
Pinkie drank the tea and tried to get up again, only to be blocked by Fluttershy again.
"I can't just lay down here all day!" Pinkie protested "I must've slept for about 15 hours!."
Fluttershy shook her head "I'm sorry Pinkie, but I want you to heal up as fast as you can."
Pinkie Pie sighed seeing that she couldn't beat Fluttershy. "Fine...but could you at least stay with me?"
Fluttershy grinned "Of course. So what would you like to do?"
Pinkie shrugged "Why don't we just talk."
Fluttershy replied "Talk about what?" Oh please don't let this be the time she confesses she likes me !
Pinkie smiled and tried to suppress a coughing fit, but coughed several times before replying "Whats' your favorite sweet from Sugarcube Corner?"
Fluttershy had to think about the question for a moment, there were so many delicious treats to pick from. "There are a lot of great choices, but my favorite would be the strawberry cupcakes with pink frosting."
"Those are my favorite too!" Pinkie exclaimed "They're just so sweet!"

Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy started jumping from topic to topic, but soon enough Fluttershy began to enjoy herself and started laughing with Pinkie Pie. When Pinkie Pie wasn't talking she was listening attentively, giving Fluttershy her undivided attention. At first this made her nervous, but soon she became comfortable and they lost track of time.
Fluttershy was laying down facing Pinkie, and they were laughing about a prank that Pinkie had pulled last week. Glancing over at the window Fluttershy was surprised to see that Celestia's sun was setting.
"How did it get so late?" Fluttershy murmured out loud.
Pinkie Pie yawned "Yeah I'm getting a little sleepy. Even though I slept in half the day." Ugh, I never want to be sick again...unless it's with Fluttershy .
Fluttershy nodded and turned of the bedside lamp. Making sure that Pinkie had enough covers and was comfortable before heading over to her side of the bed.

It was close to midnight and neither pony was asleep. Fluttershy was looking out the window at Luna's moon and how beautiful it made the snow look. Pinkie Pie couldn't get comfortable and wasn't feeling as tired as she did earlier.
"Pssst. Fluttershy, are you awake?" Pinkie whispered, rolling over to face Fluttershy.
Fluttershy whispered back "Yeah...I'm having trouble sleeping." She then rolled to face Pinkie Pie and found herself face to face with her. Both ponies blushed and looked away from each other, but neither moved away.
Pinkie Pie looked back at Fluttershy and suddenly said "I'm really glad you let me stay with you."
Fluttershy smiled softly "It was no trouble at all."
Pinkie smiled "I've really had fun staying with you."
Fluttershy chuckled "Me too. I'm almost disappointed you'll be leaving in a few days..." Did I say that out loud ?
Pinkie Pie blinked in surprise "Really?" she inched a little closer to Fluttershy.
Fluttershy nodded "Yeah, I mean you're such a fun pony. I know I'm shy, but you can make me laugh and feel comfortable around you."
Pinkie Pie blushed "Well, you're a really nice pony. It makes me happy when I get to do things with you." Pinkie gave a small smile "I mean you're my best friend and I love how you put up with my craziness, and how we have fun together."
Fluttershy stared into Pinkie Pie's eyes. She's your friend, what will everypony think ! All these thoughts raced through her head. But she mentally shook her head. I'm not going to over think this ! I'm going to trust my heart. What does my heart say to do though ? Looking straight at Pinkie, noticing how beautiful she was, Fluttershy made her decision.
Pinkie Pie inched closer to Fluttershy "Flutters...there's something that I need to te-" She was stopped as Fluttershy closed the distance between them and kissed her. Pinkie's eyes shot open, but then she kissed her back.
Stopping the kiss,(but not wanting to) Fluttershy looked at Pinkie and beamed.
Pinkie Pie smiled "Does this mean, what I hope it means? That you like me too?" she asked hopefully.
Fluttershy chuckled "Yes, I like you Pinkie Pie."
Pinkie Pie laughed in relief, relief that Fluttershy liked her, that she could stop being nervous. Fluttershy joined in, enjoying just being near Pinkie Pie.
Eventually their laughter died down and Pinkie Pie yawned and snuggled up to Fluttershy, laying her head on her shoulder. Fluttershy blushed and stretched out one of her wings out so it covered Pinkie like a blanket, causing her to giggle.
Fluttershy yawned and gave Pinkie a small kiss on the fore head "Good night Pinkie."
"Good night Fluttershy!" Pinkie said snuggling closer to her, enjoying the softness and warmth.
Soon both ponies fell into a deep and comfortable sleep, with smiles upon their faces. As Luna's moon shone brightly overhead, and the two ponies reveled in each others warmth.

For my first ever fanfiction I wanted to write a cute story, and I like how it turned out. I hope everyone enjoyed reading it, as much as I did writing it. It was fun and a sequel is definitely going to happen. When? I have no idea. Also thanks to all the people who liked, favorited, and commented. It helped motivate me throughout the entire story!

Did You Know Chicken Pox was Contagious?
Pinkie Pie woke up from a wonderful dream involving giant marshmallows, as her alarm clock rang. Hopping out of bed she noticed that one of her pillows was missing. Pinkie scratched her head for a moment before shrugging it of.
Grabbing a pink-frosted-sprinkled cupcake from her hidden stash under her dresser (Don't tell anypony!) for breakfast she bounced out of the pink room and down the stairs. How she didn't trip or fall was a mystery to everypony she knew.
Once she got down the stairs she walked into the kitchen and saw Mrs. Cake "Hiya Mrs. Cake!" Pinkie beamed as she greeted her.
"Good morning Pinkie" Mrs. Cake gave a small grin. It was impossible not to smile when the premier party pony was in the room.
"Where are the twins?" Pinkie asked as she swiveled her head around the bakery.
Before she could get an answer the two small foals in question flew into the kitchen. One with his wings, and the other using magic. They were quickly followed by Mr. Cake who was almost begging at this point for them to stop being so wild.
"Pound Cake! Get down here now!" Mr. Cake tried to command, but it ended up sounding more like a tired plea.
Pound Cake and Carrot Cake just started giggling and resumed their game of tag, except they started zooming around the rest of the house faster.
Mrs. Cake looked at the clock above the stove before shouting "Sugarcube Corner opens in an hour! We can't have our foals floating around everywhere."
With Pinkie's help the Cakes were able to catch the mischievous twins just in time. Pinkie had just enough time to wash the flour off of her face when the bell rang, signaling that a customer had walked in.

Pinkie laid her head on the counter and sighed in boredom. The whole day had been pretty slow. Around lunchtime the little amount of customers to come in started to die down. It was a beautiful day outside and most ponies were outside enjoying the sunshine.
Pinkie jolted up from the counter when the door (finally) opened up, and Twilight walked into the bakery. Yay! I was about to fall asleep from boredom.
When Twilight saw that it was Pinkie Pie manning the counter she smiled and trotted up to her.
"Hey Pinkie Pie! Sugarcube Corner seems a little empty today," Twilight said as she noted the slow business.
"Yeah it got really boring, but my shifts over in..." Pinkie glanced at the clock, "Wow! Only two minutes." As soon as I'm done working I should go see if I can play some pranks with Dashie, or maybe-
She was snapped out of her planning by a small cough from Twilight. "Oh sorry Twilight! I was just thinking of what to do after work."
Twilight grinned and levitated a piece of paper out of her saddle bag and read out to Pinkie Pie "I would like two carrot cupcakes please."
"Wait a minute" Pinkie Pie said after handing the order to Mrs. Cake. "I thought you hated carrot cupcakes? It's usually Fluttershy who orders those cupcakes." For Angel she thought, that bunny needs to treat her a lot better .
Twilight frowned a little "Actually, the cupcakes are for Fluttershy."
Pinkie scratched her chin "But why didn't she come pick them up? Oh no!" Suddenly a terrible thought struck her "Is she mad at me?! Was I mean to her on accident, and now she doesn't want to see me?!"
Twilight interrupted Pinkie before she could start a rant about the theoretic idea that Fluttershy hated her. "Pinkie, Fluttershy doesn't hate you. She just couldn't come herself because-" Twilight was interrupted by a small ding as Mrs. Cake hit the small bell on the counter.
"Here is your order Twilight, that will be three bits." After Twilight floated the money in front of Mrs. Cake and she had counted it, she turned to Pinkie Pie.
"Seeing as that's the last customer of the day your shift is over." Pinkie jumped up and down in delight.
"Thank you Mrs. Cake, now I need to deliver these to Fluttershy." Twilight said. Before she could get the cupcakes Pinkie put them on her back and started walking towards the door.
"You don't need to Twilight! I haven't seen Fluttershy in forever. And besides, I have so much energy I could probably run all the way to Canterlot!" She began to bounce out the door while humming her Smile song and she didn't hear Twilight call out to her.
"No, wait you can't see Fluttershy right now!" But Pinkie was already out of earshot, glad to be free to do whatever she wanted (after delivering the cupcakes, of course.)
Mrs. Cake asked worriedly, "Why can't Pinkie deliver the cupcakes?"
Twilight turned around to face her, "Has Pinkie ever had chicken pox?"
Mrs. Cake's face became puzzled, "Not that I know of, but what does that have to do with-" then it dawned on her.
"Oh no." Twilight groaned.

Pinkie Pie made her way through Ponyville, bringing smiles to the face of every citizen she met. When Pinkie Pie was in a good mood, you were in a good mood. Trotting up to her friend's cottage she noticed the distinct lack of a certain pink maned pegasus. She must be inside , Pinkie thought to herself.
Pinkie walked up to the door and knocked, but to her surprise the door was opened by Angel.
"Oh hey Angel! Where's Fluttershy?" Angel pointed upstairs so Pinkie walked inside the cozy cottage.
Bounding up the stairs Pinkie Pie came to a halt in front of Fluttershy's door. Better not knock too loudly . She tapped on the door and called out "Hey Fluttershy its Pinkie Pie! I've brought the cupcakes you ordered!"
A mumble was heard from inside Fluttershy's room. It sounded like "Pinkie have you ever had c-chicken pecks?" Or at least the last part sounded like pecks, it was hard to tell due to Fluttershy's quiet voice and it being muffled by the closed door.
Chicken pecks? Pinkie thought to herself. That's a weird question. She thought about it and remembered the time when she tried to help round up an irritated rooster at Sweet Apple Acres. "Yeah Fluttershy, I have."
"O-Okay you can come in then." Fluttershy said from inside her room. Pinkie opened the door and walked inside. The room was a little dark because half of the curtains were closed. Pinkie Pie looked around the bed room and, at first, didn't see Fluttershy.
Looking closer at the bed she saw a pink mane sticking out from the top of the covers. Fluttershy poked her head out from under the covers at the sound of Pinkie walking up to the bed, and she looked bad.
Fluttershy's face was tired looking and there were red spots dotted around her face. She looked tired, but she was glad to see one of her friends.
Pinkie placed the cupcakes on the nightstand and came closer to Fluttershy, "What's with the red dots on your face?"
Fluttershy looked puzzled, "It's chicken pox." She whispered, "I asked you if you had it before you came in because it's very contagious."
Pinkie frowned "I thought you said chicken pecks. 'Cause I've never had chicken pox before."
"Oh No." Fluttershy squeaked.
A few days later...
"So are you girls completely fine?" Twilight asked Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy who were looking much better. She had stopped by for some tea, and found that they were no longer ill.
"Yeah." Pinkie grinned "All my spots are gone, and so is Fluttershy's." She gave a sideways glance at Fluttershy.
"That's good." Twilight happily said, glad to see her friends better. "Oh, Pinkie Pie." Twilight started "I almost forgot. The Cake's asked me to see if you could babysit tonight. Without you to give them a break, I think there losing their sanity."
Pinkie chuckled lightly "That's right...I won't need to stay with Fluttershy anymore." She felt bittersweet. On on hoof I'm not sick, but on the other I won't be able to stay with Fluttershy .
Fluttershy was just staring at her cup of tea, not saying anything. She had the same mindset as Pinkie Pie about the whole situation.
Twilight grinned "Yeah! You two can come back to Ponyville and say hi to everypony."
Fluttershy gave a half smile "Actually...I think I'll come into town tomorrow. I'm not really up to it right now."
Twilight frowned "Oh, okay then." She turned to Pinkie "I'm about to head back, do you want to walk with me?"
Pinkie nodded "Sure Twilight, I might as well go home now." She turned to Fluttershy "Thanks again for letting me stay. It was awesome, and fun, and-" She paused "and the chicken pox kind of sucked, but that doesn't matter."
Twilight, Fluttershy, and Pinkie Pie laughed. After they calmed down,Twilight and Pinkie Pie trotted towards the cottage door.
"See you later, Fluttershy!" Twilight waved to her friend as she started heading for the library.
Pinkie Pie stopped at the doorway and turned around "Yeah. See ya soon Fluttershy." She ran back and gave Fluttershy a hug and then headed out towards Sugarcube Corner.
Fluttershy smiled and waved at her two friends from the doorway. See you soon too . she thought closing the door. As soon as I can .
