//-------------------------------------------------------// A Total Blank -by LightningChaserRaikage- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// A Stranger in a Strange Land //-------------------------------------------------------// A Stranger in a Strange Land All I can see is blackness; I wake up in the dirt, body aching everywhere. I manage to sit up before a pain strikes my head. I look around, all there is, is trees, vines and mud. Where was I? When did I get here? The area that surrounded me was aged, void of any form of civilization. Like the world was lost of people and nature took back what was taken from it. I managed to stand up, knees buckling and back aching like I was 67 years old. I looked around for a clearing among the dense growth... but then I heard singing. The voice was almost angelic, soothing and...soft to say the least. I followed it until I reached a small clearing and on a hill was what I assumed to be a cottage, it looked unusual, for the fact that it looked like an overgrown fern with a windows and a chimney. I've seen tree houses that weren't even close to being this eco-friendly. I walk up to the door, but there was no doorbell nor a knocker. “Hello! Is there someone there?” I hollered. A couple seconds later the door opened and a yellow horse walked out, it had a very long mane with a pink rose color that almost reached the floor. “Yes, can I help you?” She asked. “Whoa!…You can talk?!” I asked in surprise. “Well, yes. I’ve always been able to. Who are you? I don't think that I seen you before." Just as she finished her sentence, the pony's expression dramatically changed and she hid behind a couch on the other side of the room. "I'm sorry. Is something wrong?" I ask, utterly confused. "Are you here to hurt me? O-or my animals?" She squeaked, though barely auditable. "Why would I want to hurt someone I just met?" The pony poked her head from the couch like a gopher, and then floated upward. She has WINGS!!! I thought that a Pegasus only existed in myth! "Sorry, I am quite shy." the Pegasus explains, "My name is Fluttershy. But who are you? I've seen you here." “Oh right, my name is…” “Yes?” she inquired. “I…I don’t know.” I said. Who am I exactly? I can’t remember anything anymore. Fluttershy looked at me with a confused expression. “Well that’s odd. What’s your cutie mark show?” “Cutie mark? Uh…What is that?” “You’re a pony, right? You should have a cutie mark.” I was utterly confused. “A pony? Oh no no no, I’m not a pony, I am a human.” “A human? You look like a pony to me.” Fluttershy motioned for me to look at a mirror that was sitting in the den. When I got to take a look, well...shocked didn't even begin to cover it. I was covered in a sky blue fur, four hooves and the most appalling: wings. The only things that seemed "normal" were my blue eyes and brown hair. I try to absorb the reveal as Fluttershy is staring at my ass out of the corner of my eye. "What are you looking at?" "It's your cutie mark. I...I can't understand what it means." I turn my body and I see what she was talking about. There was in fact a mark on my ass, but it was unusual. It depicted a cloud shape, but almost outlined like a tribal tattoo. I didn't know what to make of it. "Well? What is your name?" Fluttershy asked. "I...I don't-" From the darkest hour of night, the Dawn shall whisper a soft breeze... What was that? Some voice in my head. But why did it sound...familiar? I look up at Fluttershy who bit her lower lip in anxiety. "Uh...D-Dawn. Dawn...Breeze." I finally say. I don't know why those words stood out to me but at least it was something. "Well that is a nice name." Fluttershy stated. "Right. Anyway- I can't stay for too long. Is there anyone I can go to or consult about me getting home?" I asked, hinting a tone of urgency. "Well...I'm not sure that any one pony can help you, but I'm sure that there is somepony in Ponyville that could help." Fluttershy said. It wasn't much to go on, but it is all I have. "Are you sure you can't stay for some tea? You seem a little tense and stressed out." Fluttershy offers, giving my big "begging" eyes that was almost to difficult to resist. I kindly told her that I need to get answers and she pointed me in the general direction to Ponyville. With a wave of a hoof, I set out to solve my own mystery. Ponyville was more heavily populated than I gave it credit for. I asked ponies everywhere: in the café, the park, town hall even! But no one gave me even a shred of hope. I was about to give up my search when a little filly wearing an unusually large bow on her head told me some that I could go to this “Twilight Sparkle” to find some books. I wasn't sure whether books were going to help out in my scenario. She escorted me to the library, seeing as I had no sense of direction in a town I never been to. When we got there, she knocked on the door and it opened with a small purple creature standing in the doorway. "Oh, hey Applebloom. What brings you here?" The creature asks. "Hey Spike, is Twilight home?" Just as Applebloom finished her sentence, a lavender colored unicorn walked down the stairs. "Oh hello Applebloom, who is this?” The unicorn asked. “I don’t know. He was askin’ everyone in Ponyville about a library, an’ you’re the first pony to come ta mind.” Applebloom answered. “Sorry, let me introduce myself, I am Dawn Breeze. I assume you are Twilight, it is nice to meet you, but I don’t have time for formalities. I seem to have lost almost all my memories and Applebloom tells me you can help.” I stated. I really wasn't interested in idle chit-chat, I just wanted to know who I am, where did I come from and how do I get back. “Oh sure, let me use my memory spell.” Twilight said. She aimed here horn at my forehead and it started to glow a brilliant pink-white color. My vision went and dark and my mind blanked. And when night breaks to day, the world will turn to cinders and ash... Weird, another vision? That voice is really starting to creep into my mind. It took a while but once I could see again, I noticed that Twilight was giving me a worried and yet so curious look. “I…I don’t understand…this had never happened before.” She wavered. “What? What happened? What did you see?” “Well that’s just it, I didn’t see anything. I would appear that you…you don’t exist.”
