I stared at the blue gems on my hips. 'Now where the heck did these come from?' I thought to myself. 'I can't get a Cutie Mark!!!' 'It's not coming off! It can't be fake, then!'

      My string of thoughts was broken by my twin brother screaming up the stairs. "Claire! You're going to be late for work! Get out of imaginary Ponyland, or whatever, just come on!!!!"

"It's Ponyville!!!!" I yelled back at him. I groaned, and got up from my computer chair. I looked around, gazing at all my fan art. The same fan art my parents didn't understand. They thought that bronies are weird, and that adults shouldn't like shows about colorful, cartoon ponies for little girls. I didn't listen to them then, but now, I wish I had. They died in a car accident a few years ago. Sad, isn't it? I stopped making people feel bad for me and yelled to my brother.

"Okay Chris!!!" I yelled to him.

"Whatever Claire," he said doubtedly.

Crap. I'd better get ready. Lola, and Rain would be picking me up in 15 minutes.


"Hey guys. How's it goin'?" I asked them as I got into Lola's car.

"Nothing much, just your birthday! Happy birthday, Claire!"  Rain shouted to me. Right in the ear, too.


We pulled in the parking lot of RadioShack, to see a bunch of balloons and streamers taped to the door. I got out of the convertible, and started laughing.

"Oh my gosh, guys! You did this for me?" I asked them.

"Actually, it was Brandon's idea," Lola said quietly.

I look over at Brandon and smile. I know he's liked me since 2nd grade. Now it's come to the point where I developed a little crush him. I go over and hug him,as tightly as I could.

Oops. That surprised us both. I let go and cleared my throat.

"Thanks, Brandon. I really appreciate it," I said awkwardly.

He looked at me a smiled.

"It's no biggie, C-"

He was interrupted by Mr. Torres, the boss.

"What the heck is going on?" He demanded
