Endless Night

Rainbow Dash is the last to wake, feeling the blunt jab of a hoof in her side. "MOTHERFUCKER!" She screams as she awakes to see Silver Blade directly above her. He is floating about a foot in the air, forelegs crossed as if he was expecting her up earlier. Rainbow begins to ask a question, but stops when she sees two angelic wings protruding from the slits in Silver's jacket. He smirks; and kisses Rainbow straight on the lips. With a display of pure shock, her eyes widen to an almost anime proportion. When the mare realizes what is happening; she brutaly smacks Silver in the temple. He rolls off the pegasus; laughing with an overly-amused pitch. Rainbow, not paying attention to what is happining behind her; does not see Pinkie sneak up on her. "WAKEY WAKEY RAINBOW!!!" The pegasus rolls off the bed, directly into the fallen colt. "We got a letter from the princess! She says that we got to see the lighting of the sun! It's suppos'ta be amazing!" The hyperactive pony bounces to the door, and turns. "Common' Sleepyhead! Its gonna happen soon!"

Down in the park square; a large crowd has appeared. Princess Celestia stands, accompanied by her sister and her seven companions. The princess looks over the crowd, asking quietly for silence. The ponies simmer down quickly; not wishing to miss the event to happen. Celestia walked slowly across the stage; and spread her wings. Lifting her body to meet the crest, she suddenly stops. The princess's face contorts in a sickend twist, slowly looking down. A gunshot can be heard; and Celestia falls down to the stage. Blood, her own blood, begins to pour from the open wound, staining the area in scarlet. Princess Luna runs to her fallen sister; caring not that two gunshots have been fired. She bends down to cradle her sister, and goes to call for help. As the first word escapes the part of her lips, her head explodes. The third gunshot is heard directly behind the crowd, and everyone panics in a insane parinoia. Grey and pink goo splatter on the bloodstained monument as the body of Princess luna falls to the ground, directly on top of her sister. Twilight looks at the mangled carcass of her mentor with demented awe, mouth screwed in horrid fear. Applejack is the first to recover, pulling the mare out of her terror and with the rest of the group.

Inside the wooden walls of the Ponyville library; the 7 collect their thoughts in spastic ways. Applejack and Pinkie Pie busy themselves barring and barricading the windows; Twilight ruffels through container after container, empting their contence on the desk, Rarity packs the valiubles on the table into sachels for everyone, Rainbow and Silver argue while cleaning and loading the weapons. When all the windows and doors had been sealed, Twilight started counting who was with her. "Rainbow, Applejack, Pinkie, Rarity, Silver...." She paused. Smiling with an almost psycopathic look; she turns to Applejack. "Where the fuck is Fluttershy?" Applejack looks to the unicorn, "How'm I suppos't know? Do I look like'a bitches keep'r?" As the pony finishes stating this rethoricle question; a pegasus emerges from the door to the roof. Twilight, keeping her anger, turns to the arrival of Fluttershy. "Now, my friend; 'where have you been'?" The mare looks down at the ground; and murmers out a labored sentence under the attencion of the six. "I... I was talking to the..... animals; they said that they saw who... who did it." With this; the unicorn's mood immeaditly lightens, knowing that the pegasus was doing somthing for the benifit of them all.

As the ponies walk down the streets, they see that the rumors really are true. The sky is dark; not the dark of night, but the darkness of a pitless void. Mangled corpses litter the ground on either side of the cobblestone roads; most seemingly just a hunk of bloodied meat. It looked as if some invisible monster had run rampent through the town, killing all but destroying no buildings. Rainbow breaks the deadly silence with a brash remark. "Dafuq you think did this? Changlings?" Twilight took the rethorical question seriously, and did not find humor in it. "No, Changlings would have pillaged the buildings. Plus, they are a more evolved race than to mangle their prey. No, this enemy is unknown" Applejack mumors to herself; "Naw shit...." When the six reach the park, their minds are blown to bits. There stay the most normal, casual image of ponyville, children frollicing in the fields. Only they wernt moving. The young ponies stood, frozen where they stood, seemingly petrified by some unknown force. This seriously disturbed Applejack, who saw her own younger sister in the field. She pushed the gate; (More or less) it fell. Attempting to make her first step; Pinkie put her arm up, blocking her. They eyed each other, and Pinkie looked back to the field. Grabbing a rock from the ground below her; she tossed it into the clearing. As soon as it hit the ground; an extremely violent explosion shook the ground below them. Blue light shot through the cracks in the ground; and the earth erupted with an almost hellish scream. The light that emmited slowly turned a violet hue; and the shreiking seized. Laying now in the field are the smoldering skeletons of the once-known ponies. Applejack stares inderectly to the center of the field(Crater?). Rainbow looks to her entranced friend; and gets a smirk across her face. " Guess someone wants us dead. Bit'a overkill if you ask me though" The pony keeps her stare on the field; but the corner of her mouth twists slightly. "Fuckin' A"
