I moved to Cloudsdale not too long after flight camp ended. That is when I met the most awesome pony ever! She lived next door. Her cutie mark was a cloud with a rainbow colored lightning bolt. Her mane and tale where also rainbow colored. Her body was a nice cyan blue. She just got back from flight camp. At least that's what I think. She was wearing a uniform like the Wonderbolts. The only diffrence was she was too young to be a Wonderbolt. She walked out of her house one day crying. “Hey, what's wrong?” I asked her. “Nothing.” She replied between sniffs. “Anyway I'm Shadow Wings.” I said trying to cheer her up. “I'm Rainbow Dash.” She said wiping away a tear. “If you don't mind, what happened Rainbow Dash?” I asked. “My best friend moved.” Rainbow said choking back a sob. After that, we started hanging out more. This included, making our own Wonderbolts fan club! It was a lot of fun. Gilda came to visit her from time to time. Not too much. She could get mean fast. It was actually quite funny. It seemed like everytime Rainbow left, she turned to complete hatred. Rainbow never noticed, but everypony else did. After a few weeks Gilda left. “Rainbow Dash, want to go flying?” I asked. “Sure dude, race ya.” She replied with a smile. We took off into the sky. The nice breeze on our backs. We were neck and neck! Finally, she made it through and won the race. It was a lot of fun. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2 It had been weeks after our race. She locked herself in her room for the longest time. I was getting lonely, so I desided to knock on the door. “Can I help you?” Her dad asked. “Can Rainbow come out sir?” I asked. He left only saying he will be back in a minute. Rainbow was at the door. “Rainbow!” I yelled wrapping my arms around her. “What did you want?” She asked. “Best idea for a flying trick ever!” I said. She told me it would have to wait because her mom died. She wanted to tell me but not until I came over. I felt bad for her. “Rainbow, tell him he can come in.” Her dad said. She motioned me inside. It was a huge house on the inside. It was like Dr. Whooves's time machine. It was cool. “Wow” I said in amazment. For the most part all I saw in her room was pictures of the Wonderbolts. Author's Note Sorry for the short chapter. The others will be longer I promise. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 4 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 4 Besides the fact that my parents ar horrible, I am never moving back to Cloudsdale. I am going to stay with Rainbow Dash for awhile. “We don't want you living with her!” My mom yelled. “Mom guess what I DON'T CARE!” I yelled emphisizing on I dont care. She was fearious she hit me and pushed me through the floor out of Cloudsdale! If I didn't have wings or just a little filly I would have died! That night I flew to our cloud house, and cried in my room. I heard a knock. “Shadow, I'm coming in.” Rainbow said. She opened the door. “Hey, what's wrong?” She asked. “Well, Rainbow my parents don't want me living with you, and tried to kill me.” I choked out. She nuzzled up agienst me. Shadow, I want to go on an adventure. You know, like Daring Do.” Rainbow said. I got excited about what she said. “I thought books are for egg heads.” I teased. “Hey, adventure books are cool.” Dash said. We laughed for a good bit. I mean, who would've thought Rainbow Dash reads. My arm stang a good bit from her hitting me but still. I knew from the start she was the one pony. My only friend since I moved to Cloudsdale, was an awesome pony. I knew everything about her. I mean EVERYTHING. She could fly, do sonic rainbooms, and read apparently. I told her after I was done dosing off in thought about her instead of answering her, “Sure Rainbow lets go on an adventure.” She was so happy! “You scared me.” She finally said. “Oh my gosh, oh my gosh, YES!” She yelled when she left the room. It was pretty funny if you ask me. She was cute though, so couldn't really complain much. I laughed silently. We needed to talk about the trip later I guess. I could do nothing but think and wait. The next day, we sat at the kitchen table. “Where're we going?” I asked. “Hmm… how about Phillydalphia?” She asked. I agreed to it. She called and made reservations. After that, we went to work. The sky needed clearing badly. So she did that, and I helped Fluttershy. It was a lot of fun. We played with Angle bunny most of the time though. Hard enough that he doesn't eat. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 5 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 5 Fluttershy wasn't boring or anything. It was just the bunny, who got a little boring. Anyways after that, I went to Sugarcube Corner. Pinkie Pie threw a huge party! I mean HUGE! The biggest Ponyville's seen anyway. Rainbow was there. I saw tears in her eyes. It reminded me about the time her mom died. I went up to her. “Hey, Rainbow. What's wrong?” I asked. “Nothing.” She replied sadly. She took off after that. I went to the cloud house to see if she was there. Not too hard to find a sad pony in a house of two. I knocked on her door. “Go away!” She yelled. “Not until you tell me what's wrong.” I replied. She opened the door. Her mane was a rainbow mess! “Fine! My ex told me something.” She said. “Told you what?” I asked. She didn't answer. I begged her to tell me. I annoied her so much, she snapped. “Okay! Just shut the hell up!” She yelled. “I'm listening.” I said. “He told me that he would kill me if I didn't leave the party.” She said. It didn't seem like Rainbow at all to lbe like this. She used to be so much fun and happy. She used to be a great friend of mine. But now, I have no idea what to expect. Fun or sad? That was the only question. Anyway to get back on track, Rainbow slammed the door in my face. I went to my room just as sad as she was. That was the rest of our night. Only a week until the big trip, and we are a mess! Author's Note Sorry for the long wait a lot of work needed to be done. I can't promise a weekly update but I can promise an update. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 7 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 7 Only five days away now. I was waiting for her to finish packing. We extended five days. This was because she wanted to bring all of her Daring Do books. This included a lot of fanfiction that she wrote. She made me read some of them. It was pretty good, I mean for somepony with almost no experince. I liked them because both of us were in almost every one of them. Anyways, no work or fights this week. Although last week was a lot of fun. Mainly because he deserved it. Mostly because I like Rainbow. This is because she's usally always happy, and ready to race! Ocasionaly I snapped at her. That is because she can be really stupid. Like that time she broke her wing, and everytime she almost died being dumb, and jumping off roofs trying to learn to fly. Nothing was better. I say this because we can still go on the adventure. The Doctor said it was only a sprain. So it was only on for two days! Well two and a half. I was so releaved it wasn't worse. The funny part was, it looked a lot worse before all of this. What I mean is, her wing looked broken. I was so scared! The only pony I cared about, with a broken wing! I mean how would you feel? //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 3 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 3 I sat on her bed. We didn't talk much. I felt like things wern't going too well. Anyways, if she did talk it was about her mom. It was like nothing else mattered to her. I guess I can't blamed her. I mean her mom did just die. “Rainbow it might help if you don't talk about her.” I said. She was quiet for along time. After some time I went home. It was like this every day for the next few months. Her dad thinks she should go see Fluttershy who is in Ponyville. She wentand said it was for a few weeks, but I never saw her again. It was scarry. I also never went after her though. There where reasons for this. One, was she was sending letters. So I was pretty sure she was ok. After a few years, she stopped sending me letters. I decided to move to ponyville which I did. When I got there, a few mares looked at me. One was grey with bubbles? For a cutie mark. Another was Rainbow Dash. The third mare was none other than Fluttershy. I turned to walk the other way. “Where're you going?” Dash asked. I heard worry in her voice so I faced her. “Rainbow, I haven't been getting letters, so I came to stay here.” I said. “You can take my guest room.” Rainbow said with excitment. I thanked her for the offer which, I took by the way. She showed me to the house and gave me a spare key. I doubt I need it. The guest room was really big! I could fit all my stuff, and still have room. Her room was just down the hall. I didn't bother her much, but if I did it was important. She's been over her mom's passing for a long time. The grey mare was called Derpy was all she said that night. Derpy the mail mare I thought. It sounded good. Only one problem, Rainbow has been giving me letters. My mom and dad where hiding them! I was mad beyond belief. I found out because they gave them to me when I left. She wanted me to move in anyway. It was in a letter that was hidden near my room. They thought I found them. Which is why I would want to move. I told them the truth after a few hours of them not letting me talk. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 6 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 6 After that night I talked to her. Apparently he was worse than Gilda. I was going to help her get over it, but She was too mad. If it was any better than I would've. I was sorta watching her for a bit, I only saw one colt go up to her. He didn't look any stronger than Featherwhight, but strong enough to scare Rainbow. Anyways, when she was doing her job I went to talk to him. “What'd you want?” He asked. “Look, can you please leave Rainbow Dash alone?” I asked. I didn't like to fight for her, but I would. “What ya gonna do 'bout it?” He asked. “Look, just leave her alone.” I said. “Not gonna unless you wanna fight for her!” He yelled. I punched him a few times. He went down. He gave me a good hit to my jaw. I shook it off, and right hoofed him in the eye! He was down for a minute. By the time he was up, Rainbow was there. He lunged at her, but before he could hurt her I took a chair and threw it at him. “Shadow, what happened?” Rainbow asked. “I may have, came here to tell him to leave you alone and he started a fight.” I said. After I said that, she hugged me. “Thanks.” She wispered. We left after explaining what happened to the cops. They let us go, but her ex was not taken lightly. He was in jail for awhile. “Rainbow, you're never as sad as I saw you last night.” I said. “Don't tell anypony or I'll deny it.” She said. We where at the cloud house the rest of the week. It was fun for the most part. We talked and all that fun stuff. I just have mixed feelings for her right now. That would be my only problem. With only days left until our adventure! She was so excited! Well, so was I but not nearly as much as her.
