AUTHOR NOTE: The beginning is from Friendship is Magic, part one. All credit to them.
"Once upon a time, in the magical land of Equestria, there were two regal sisters who ruled together, and created harmony for all the land. To do this, the eldest used her unicorn powers to raise the sun at dawn; the younger brought out the moon to begin the night. Thus, the two sisters maintained balance for their kingdom and their subjects, all the different types of ponies. But as time went on, the younger sister became resentful. The ponies relished and played in the day her elder sister brought forth, but shunned and slept through her beautiful night. One fateful day, the younger unicorn refused to lower the moon to make way for the dawn. The elder sister tried to reason with her, but the bitterness in the young one's heart had transformed her into a wicked mare of darkness: Nightmare Moon.
She vowed that she would shroud the land in eternal night. Reluctantly, the elder sister harnessed the most powerful magic known to ponydom: the Elements of Harmony. Using the magic of the Elements of Harmony, she defeated her younger sister, and banished her permanently in the moon. The elder sister took on responsibility for both sun and moon..."
"And Harmony has been maintained in Equestria for generations since. Rarity, you always read Sweetie Belle the same book." Rainbow Dash groaned. The cyan blue pony received a glare from her close friend. "Can't you read a different one?"
"Sweetie only has Scootaloo, and Scootaloo is off at camp. I don't have any other books."
"May I suggest a library?"
Rarity laughed. "Dear Celestia, I thought library wasn't in your dictionary!" Rarity got a laugh from her sister.

"RAINBOW DASH!" A pink Earth pony galloped down the street, trying to catch a certain rainbow-maned pegasus.
The blue pony stopped in the air, alert, and fell onto a cloud, bouncing for a few seconds.
"RAINBOW DASH! RAINBOWDASHRAINBOWDASHRAINBOWDASH!"
A voice going that fast could only belong to one pony.
"PINKIE PIE. Shut the hay up! I hear you!" Rainbow Dash yelled down.
"Rainbow Dash!" Pinkie Pie gasped. "There's no need for that language! Right in front of those foals!"
Rainbow Dash glanced around. They were the only ones on the backstreet.
"Seriously, Pinkie?" Rainbow Dash fluttered down to the street.
"Rainbow Dash, look at what I found!"
"Pinkie. Do you know what that is?"
"Uh-huh!"
"What is it, then?"
"A book!" Pinkie seemed too proud of herself.
"Mare in the Moon? A silly foal tale? It's like that book Rarity always reads to Sweetie Belle. Dang, Pinkie. Where did you find this?"
Silence echoed the area for one split second, as Pinkie thought. Rainbow Dash was surprised by the sugar-addict's expression.
"The Library!"
A roll of pain burned into Rainbow Dash. Pinkie had broken in, and stolen it. This was against the law. Guess who would be blamed for it? Rainbow Dash. Even though Pinkie took it. Pinkie was the youngest of the five friends, only fourteen and a half. Applejack was seventeen, Rarity nineteen, Fluttershy was sixteen, and Rainbow Dash herself had just turned eighteen. And, Pinkie Pie had dropped the bomb that she didn't have a legal guardian, and Rarity had offered Rainbow Dash up. That's exactly why Rainbow Dash secretly loathed her close friend. Pinkie Pie was Applejack's family friend, and had eventually earned the love of all four ponies, except for Rainbow Dash.
Rainbow Dash wished it were the good old days, where Pinkie was twelve, and they didn't care for her. Rarity, Applejack, and Rainbow Dash were inseperable. While it looked like Pinkie Pie had united them more, she just broke the ice chunk, making four instead of three, and they eventually just floated out, but still remained as friends, just not as close.
She just wanted something to bring them close again.
"Wasn't it closed after Bookworm moved out?"
"Closed?"
Rainbow Dash groaned.
"Pinkie, return it."
"Nightmare Moon is returning!" Pinkie skipped around.
"What are you talking about?"
"'That on the longest day of the thousandth year, the stars will aid in her escape, and she will bring about nighttime eternal'" Pinkie Pie said, in an unbothered, sing-songy voice.
"It's a foal's tale."
"It's true!"
"Don't start a conspiracy to make this true. And don't spread rumors."
"What am Ah hearin' about a conspiracy?" Applejack trotted up.
"Pinkie Pie thinks that Nightmare Moon is coming back, and she's probably going to start a conspiracy." Rainbow Dash said.
"I don't think, I know!" Pinkie Pie retorted.
"Pinkie, Ah think you've read too much foal stories." Applejack handed the pink pony a box of apple fritters, which had at least half a dozen. "Come on, it's naptime, Pinkie Pie."
The pink pony was like a little ferocious toddler; she was simply cute and adorable like that. Applejack was like an adoptive mother, even though Dash herself was the guardian. Of course, she didn't live with Pinkie Pie, Pinkie lived with the Cakes under an apprenticeship. Only Dash had Celestia and Luna to thank for that. Clearing the cluttered thoughts from her mind, Rainbow Dash frowned. She wanted apple fritters. But no, she was too old.
To be serious, Rainbow Dash deserved the fritters.
And to not have to worry about Pinkie Pie.
And law troubles.
