Chapters Chapter 1
Fluttershy was sitting in her favorite seat in the back of the bar near her cottage home, The Drunken Mule, and sipping at the third appletini on her table. She usually never drinks this much but tonight was a different occasion. “Oh Angel...” She muttered miserably, swirling the remaining alcohol in the glass “Why did you have to run away...?” She asked, nopony hearing her over the extremely loud music from the front of the bar. She sighed quietly, a few unshed tears filling the brim of her eyes as she heard somepony slide into the booth across from her. “Hey Flutters, what’s the problem?” She knew that deep gruff voice all too well.
It was her good friend (and Flight School Crush) Electro Bolt, “N-No, I’m fine, Thanks for a-asking...” she said, wiping away the tears and managing to look up into the dim orange goggles covering his eyes, his orange and white mane spiked up in a messy mohawk. “W-Why are y-you here?” She asked, never having spent this long around the light blue pegasi whom she’d had feelings for every since she laid her eyes on him. “I just came to check on you” His voice cutting through the ambient sound and filling her ears, making her feel her cheeks and tips of her ears grow increasingly warm, which only increased the blush slowly spreading across her muzzle “You’ve seemed down these past few days, and I was worried that something might’ve been wrong.”
She nodded solemnly, acknowledging his worry for her and her well being, “Yes...” She said, almost too soft to be heard over the massive din still erupting from the front of the bar “Angel ran away, and I can’t find him anywhere... He must’ve ran into the E-E-E-Everfree F-F-Forest...” she hangs her head in sadness and despair as tears begin to flow unchecked down her cheeks, only making her face grow warmer in humiliation and embarrassment, sobs wracking her body as she puts her head in her hooves, crying over the loss of the bunny she loved. “Hey, don’t cry Flutters” The sound of her crush sitting across from her only increases her sobbing, as she hears him get up and feels a warm embrace surrounding her “I’ll help you find Angel, and that’s a promise”. She looks up with her tear filled baby blue eyes, stains from tears on her cheeks, as she sniffs and her blush increases.
“T-T-Thank you... Electro...” She quietly said as she leaned forward and kissed him gently, she doesn’t know why she did this, maybe it was the alcohol, or maybe the situation, but she didn’t care. She embraced him, as she felt him back away from the kiss, leaving her breathless and embarrassed from her sudden move on her one and only crush. “Flutters... How much have you had to drink?” He questions, while looking at the three glasses on the table “Because this isn’t normal for you...” She squees and hides inside her mane, her entire muzzle a bright red and warm “I-I-I-I j-j-just thought I-I-I’d t-thank you for h-h-helping me...” she managed to stammer, her entire mind clouded with thoughts of his rejection and hate, making her believe it was going to be fulfilled in the scene that lay before her. “Well, you’re welcome Flutters, do you want me to take you home...?” He asked, his ears perked in curiosity and his face slightly warm from a kiss of whom he thought was the most beautiful mare in equestria. “I-I’d be very grateful.” She said, as she felt herself helped up from the seat by his strong but gentle hoof, leading outside into the dark, cold, night.
The air crisp and fresh, a small breeze blowing through the empty streets as they walk down the sidewalk in silence, the only sounds being their hooves on the gravel and the sounds of their breathing. “So Fluttershy,” He suddenly inquired “What made you think to kiss me?”, This sudden question made her face quickly become warm against the cool breeze, “W-Well...” She muttered, “I’ve kinda always wanted that...” What was she saying? She was pretty sure that extra appletini was going to her head, she was telling her lifelong crush that she loves him, what would he do? “You’ve... what?” He said, his curiosity peaked and his face slowly growing warmer as well. She gathered up what little courage she had and managed to spit it out.
“I-I-I... I love you!” she clasped her hooves to her own mouth, surprised by her own actions once again. “I-I’m sorry Flutters... I never knew you felt that way...” His voice carried a hint of regret and a small note of sadness “Thing is... I love you too...” She heard his words clearly and with the silence that followed her eyes widened as she uncovered her mouth and stared at him, barely being able to comprehend what she was just told.

Chapter 3
Fluttershy opened the door to her rural homely cottage, putting Angel in his small bed as she rushes into the kitchen, Electro following her and sitting on her couch. He holds a hoof to his ear, pinching off any blood from falling onto the comfy yellow couch “Stupid rabbit” he growled, glaring at the ragged bunny cleaning himself and resting. “Hang on I’ve got some bandages!” Fluttershy called from the kitchen walking in and wrapping Electro’s injured ear with the soft linen, stopping the bleeding. “I’m so sorry about Angel, he usually never hurts ponies...” She said, her own words sounding uncertain in her mouth, making her slowly drift into silence, sitting on the couch beside him.
They sit in peaceful silence for a few minutes, Fluttershy eventually putting her head to rest on his shoulder, her hoof intertwining with his as she feels her face growing warm once again, in the presence of the stallion who she recently discovered loves her. He acknowledges her by placing his head on her soft pastel pink mane, nuzzling into it’s velvety softness and letting out a happy sigh, the two ponies sharing each others warmth and care, giving them each a sense of security and safety. “E-Electro...” She said quietly, breaking the comfortable silence around them, “Yes Flutters?” He replied, his voice gently and carrying through the air with a soft echo.
“I-I love you...” “I love you too Flutters...” He said this with a kiss to her cheek, making her muzzle burn bright with blush and causing her to hide in her mane, his front leg around her, holding her close to his warm muscular chest, his rhythmic heartbeat and rising and falling of his breathing acting as a sweet lullaby and rocking her to sleep, her soft snores filling the air around them. “I love you Flutters...” He repeated, to the sleeping form in his hooves “And I’ll never let anypony hurt you...” He nuzzled back into her mane and relaxed, letting her sweet scent of flowers fill his senses and further calm him.
After a few minutes the delightful aroma and warmth of her body against his caused his eyelids to fall as he drifts into the realm of sleep. After a long night of sleep Electro wakes from his dreams of him and Flutters fulfilling a marriage and having foals. “Ugh... I need to head home...” He gets up carefully trying not to wake Flutters as he leaves a note telling about his leaving, peaking out the door to make sure nopony is around he hears a piercing whistle which sends him shooting into the air atop a nearby cloud, watching his friend, Blood Beat, laughing and trotting into the Everfree Forest with his dragon hunting equipment.
“Jerk...” He mutters as he flies off to his own house, entering to the extremely messy living room. A violin laying against a nearby wall as he walks into his own dirty bedroom, sheet music covering the floor as he hovers onto to his bed and collapses onto it with a sigh of happiness. “Fluttershy loves me...” He chuckled to himself as he stared at his ceiling, counting the cracks on the ceiling out of boredom and suspense.
He soon walk into the living room and tuning his violin, letting out a few sour notes before they turn sweet and gentle, flowing throughout the house and letting it ring in his ears. “Ahh, can’t wait to play with Octavia tomorrow, she’s so good with that cello of hers...” He says, thoughts of Octavia filling his mind as he shakes his head, dispelling them.
No, he can’t feel that way for Octavia anymore, He has Fluttershy now. He sighed and continued playing, the notes filling the air, the music dripping with sorrow and pain, tears welling up in his eyes from his own moving music piece. At the same time his music is filling the air Fluttershy awakes and finds the note, reading it and yawning slightly “Well, he had to go practice his instrument, I understand that” She said, not quite sure of herself as she went into the kitchen, putting a kettle on and steaming up some tea.
Chapter 4
Electro was resting, his appointment with Octavia today. His mind filled with images and thoughts of her, disrupting his imagination of Fluttershy. He loved Flutters but, he wanted to love Octavia as well, it was so confusing for him. Either way, he got up and grabbed his viola and bow, flying off towards the house that Octavia and Vinyl shared.
He landed with a flourish as he walked into the building, the quietness of the entire structure made him aware of Vinyl’s absence. “Huh” He said slightly happy “Vinyl’s not here to disrupt us.” He walked into the next room, the first few notes of a bow giving off the beautiful notes from Octavia’s cello. He stepped into the room providing the source, the dark grey mare playing with passion, her eyes closed tight in concentration as her black mane tied back in a ponytail moves slightly with her bow movements.
“She’s beautiful...” Electro quietly gasped, only now realising the beauty of his friend and mentor, making his face grow slightly warm. “Ah, Electro, you’re finally here!” He jumped at the sound of her graceful voice filling the air “I thought you wouldn’t show up!” She smiled at him, showing pristine white teeth and her light violet eyes shining, making his blush spread farther.

Chapter 5
Fluttershy was worried, Electro’s practice should’ve been over a few hours ago, and he’s nowhere to be seen. “Oh my oh my!” She said quickly to herself, pacing in her cottage. “He’s late... M-Maybe I should check on him...” She pondered this thought until the minutes turned to hours and she was certain something must be wrong, she decided to go check on him. She flied slowly to Octavia’s house, slowly walking over to the window, peeking in through the corner.
What she saw completely baffled her, she saw the two instruments on the ground. Scanning the rest of the room she finally spotted something that festered in the back of her mind since she had spoken the words “I-I had loved you...” Her eyes filling with tears as those words escaped her trembling lips. she flew home as fast as she could, collapsing on the couch the image from the cottage burned to the insides of her eyelids, making her see the terrible occurrence over and over.
Electro woke up with a start on top of Octavia, noticing her violet eyes shut in sleep, her hooves around his shoulders and his hooves on her hips “How long was I out...?” He quietly asked himself, getting off Octavia and looking outside “Oh no, I’m late for my date with Flutters!” He quickly rushed out into the cool refreshing night, his wings spreading as he takes flight, the cool night breeze causing his mane to flap behind him.
He arrived at the cottage to find it completely dark and ominous “F-Flutters?” He asked through the door, his hoof banging on the hard wooden door with a little bit too much force than needed, no reply coming from the door, he decided to check on the window, finding the curtains drawn, but a small sliver still visible. He looked through the window and the scene before him made him go pale, his cheeks drained of all color.
He was allowed entry to her room after she was stabilized, a breathing mask covering her muzzle, a hospital gown covering her front as she lay there, breathing quietly and her eyes closed. “I-I’m so sorry Flutters...” He quietly said, walking over beside her bed and taking her hoof in his, squeezing hers gently.

Chapter 2
Whilst Fluttershy was experiencing those strange series of events, her small pet bunny was hopping around the dark, ominous, space of the dreaded Everfree Forest. The sounds of ravenous animals and hungry guttural growls in the darkness caused the small rabbit’s heart to jump, causing him to run into a nearby alcove in a tree, gasping for breath as he heard terrible scratches and sniffing outside the tree. He closed his mouth in fear and instinct as terrible sharp claws glistened in the small amount of moonlight passing through the canopy, making the creature appear spectral and sinister, as it scavenged for the prey it had spotted. After an hour of complete silence and no movement, the small rabbit slowly breathed out a sigh of relief, regretting his decision to abandon Fluttershy and her safe haven of a cottage.
He slowly walked out of the innards of the tree, his usually pristine white coat dirtied and messy, slowly hopping towards a normal sound he knew very well, the soft singing and gentle words of his caring guardian. He increased his speed as he continued getting closer to the wondrous, comforting sound that had lulled him to sleep many a dark, stormy night.
He bursted out of the dark vegetation into a park clearing where he saw Fluttershy seated on a bench next to a stallion he’d never met, he jumped forward and lunged at the light blue stallion, biting deeply into his ear and tearing off a small chunk. “Ouch!” The stallion cried as Fluttershy pulled him off of the strange pony. “Angel!” She cried, both excited and upset at the same time “Where have you been? And why did you bite Electro?!” So, this odd pony was named Electro, and he had managed to upset his caretaker.
This day was just getting worse and worse for him, “Let’s head to my cottage...” Fluttershy said softly, carrying Angel away. “Okay Flutters, I’m right behind you” The stallion named Electro said as he started following Flutters and Angel.
