A quaint little town, Ponyville. Nopony here should know who I am. At least, I hope not. I heard this place held a more 'Classical' air than 'Rock' or 'Metal'. I looked over at my sister, Blue Moon, as she pushed a stray strand of silver hair away from her eyes. "So, where to first?" She asked. I looked around again, hoping to see a notice or a sign. "OH MY GOSH!!" I sighed. Of course there have to be SOMEPONY to scream. I turned around. "I'm sorry, we can't sign an autograph. You can't have a photo. I won't kiss you. Please leave us be, we only want to move into our new home." I really wish I hadn't said that. I opened my eyes in time to see a huge mess of curly pink hair completely flatten itself out and her face drop like a bomb. "I only wanted to welcome you..." I felt my irritation leave me when I saw this, and I instinctively wrapped my wing around her. I don't really know why. "Hey, don't be sad. I'm sorry. It's just I'm so used to being attacked by mobs of fans. I'd be happy for you to welcome us." I said with a smile. "YIPEE!" The pink mare exclaimed, her hair inflating once again. "My name's Pinkie Pie, what's yours? OhmygoshIneedtothrowartyforyouandyouhavetomeetmyfriends!" I chuckled. "That sounds like tons of fun, but first can you take us to Sugar Cube Corner? Our new house is right next door." She seemed to get even cuter when... Wait. Did I just... Nah. Can't have. "OH MY GOSH!! I LIVE IN SUGAR CUBE CORNER!!" Pinkie exclaimed. I smiled warmly. "Well I guess that makes us neighbours then." Blue Moon said, stepping forward. I jumped. "Oh yeah. Pinkie, this is my sister Blue Moon and I'm Thunder Rift." Pinkie smiled what I'm guessing is her normal ear-to-ear smile. Like, seriously. It was actually touching her ears. I'm not even joking. Pinkie showed us the way to Sugar Cube Corner, even offering to carry our bags. I couldn't have refused, seeing as she didn't really give us a choice. She just somehow managed to carry every piece of our luggage on her back without a care in the world. There's something about this mare. I can't quite place my hoof on it though... Oh well. I have a new friend before even getting to my house, so I'm not complaining. Pinkie told us about each of her friends in great detail, and I couldn't help but be astounded. She knew Celestia's top student, the greatest cider maker in Equestria, the designer that even Fancypants loves, the only Pegasus to pull off a Sonic Rainboom and the Pegasus that stared down a Cockatrice! We arrived at my new home before I had gotten my head around Pinkie's friends. Blue Moon opened the door and took the luggage from Pinkie, thanking her while I walked into the kitchen and got us some drinks. I had made sure to keep the coffee away from the packing crew, and had already pulled out three mugs from a box. I made Pinkie a decaf though, as she already seemed hyper enough. "I have to show you around! Come on!" Pinkie said after downing her drink. I looked to my sister, who nodded. "Go on. I know you want to." She winked at the end of that. I gulped. Was I that easy to read? Oh well, Pinkie didn't seem to mind if she knew. "Alright then, lets go." I replied, setting my mug on the counter. Pinkie squealed and dragged me out the front door. Get together at Sweet Apple Acres"Yep! Twilight and Celestia are together! Only Ponyville knows though, it's pretty hush-hush." Pinkie had explained to me why Celestia was in Twilight's house. To be honest, I'm happy for them. It's just... Well... I never expected the princess to be a filly fooler. I hate that term so much. Ah well. I looked up from my hooves to see... "Woa!" Pinkie stood right in my face. I fell right on my flank. "Pinkie, what the hell!" She ginned ear to ear. I swear that can't be good for her. "You were daydreaming, silly!" I chuckled for what felt like the millionth time that day. This mare is amazing. "Anyway, this is Sweet Apple Acres! I figured that since the first meeting was so fan-like, you should meet a more down-to-earth pony. And who better than an earth pony!" I chuckled at Pinkie's seemingly planned randomness. We walked up to the barn where we found a group of ponies. 4 Pegasi, 3 Earth Ponies, 2 Unicorns and a small dragon. Putting two and two together, I decided the dragon must be Spike, Twilight's assistant. "Hey everypony!" Pinkie yelled, causing the groups attention to fall upon us. "Well howdy there, Pinkie!" an orange earth pony responded, smiling widely. "What brings y'all round these parts?" "And who's this bub?" A cyan Pegasus asked, pushing the fringe of her rainbow mane from her eyes. "I was just showing my new friend around Ponyville and thought we would drop by to see you." Pinkie explained. A white unicorn walked over and smiled graciously at me. "It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance, mister..." "The name's Thunder Rift, and the pleasure's all mine miss Rarity." I replied. Everypony else looked at me sceptically, and I shrugged. "What? How can I not know the name of the designer even Fancypants adores. That, and she made my favourite jacket." "Well it's always nice to meet a fan." Rarity said, blushing lightly. My gaze drifted past her and landed on the disgruntled emerald eyes of a certain dragon. "Don't worry Spike. I ain't afta yo girl." I said in my funniest gangster voice. "How do you know my name?" He asked, startled. "Pinkie took me to see Twilight first. Anyway, I know most of your names." I listed off the names of each pony and why I knew their names. Even Spitfire, ex-captain of the Wonderbolts, was there with us. I had heard she was fired for her 'sexual preferences', but I had no idea she was living in Ponyville. Eventually I got to three young fillies, each a different type of pony, and a huge red earth pony stallion. "Sorry" I said, turning to them. "That's all the names I know. Who might you guys be?" "Big Macintosh, Mac for short." The stallion replied. "Wow. Ah think that's the most Y'all've ever spoken at any one time, Big Mac." Applejack said, bewildered. I chuckled, then looked to the fillies. "Name's Scootaloo. I'm Rainbow and Spitfire's adoptive daughter." an orange Pegasus with a lavender mane said. Ah, that explains why Spitfire lives here. I turned to them and smiled. "Congrats." I said. It was late, but ah well. "I'm Rarity's sister, Sweetie Belle!" another white unicorn squeaked, her pink and purple mane dipping in front of her eyes for all of a second before curling itself again. "Ah'm Applebloom." A yellow earth filly said, curling her red mane around her hoof. "And we're the Cutie Mark Crusaders!" They yelled in unison, though Applebloom seemed distracted. Oh well, it's her business. We chatted over cider (or just plain old apple juice) for a while and I learned a whole lot about recent goings on. Now, I know I teased Spike earlier, but I had no idea he had actually asked Rarity out on a date! And she said yes! I didn't press any further than that, not wanting to overstep my boundaries, and changed the subject. Fluttershy had recently opened an animal sanctuary and was receiving a constant supply of feed from the Apple's (mainly Mac), Rainbow had actually DECLINED an offer for a place in the Wonderbolts due to it being trying to replace Spitfire, Applejack had recently brought home a bag full of blue ribbons from the last rodeo and Scootaloo was the first of the CMC to get her Cutie Mark. She lifted her cape to show me and I was shocked to see a flaming guitar. I looked to my own flank, eyeing my bass guitar and microphone cutie mark, then asked a question I didn't think many would like. "Say, Scoot. Would you like to join my band? It's just me and my sister at the moment, but we could use a guitarist." Spitfire and Rainbow looked at me. I looked at Scootaloo. Scootaloo looked at nopony in particular, and her left eye was twitching. I was about to say something when I was knocked to the ground. "YES YES YES THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!" I chuckled and wrote down my address. "Just come on over when you wanna jam. We can write songs or just play them." "Can we come too?" Sweetie Belle asked, her eyes wide and pleading. I smiled and nodded. Around half an hour later we all parted ways. Rainbow Dash swooped down on her way home and said "You have no idea what you've just gotten yourself into." then flew off. I asked Pinkie what she meant, but the bubbly pink mare just smiled that huge smile of hers. A warm feeling fluttered in my chest and I couldn't help but smile back. I... I think I'm in love... A song from the past*Fourth Wall Broken!!* Hey everypony, what's up? It's me, Thunder Rift. Right, so, according to my creator, the one YOU know as Thunder Rift, FiMFiction won't allow the song-chappie up because of copyrighted lyrics. Sorry to all those who wanted to hear it, but most of you probably have already. If not, here it is. Just a Dream. The original one, not that crappy cover by Neighly. So anyway... Huh? Oh, right, names are different here... Uh, it's Nelly in your universe, not Neighly. Sorry. By! Pinkie Pie's FamilyMLP fanfic Pt.5 I opened my eyes and saw that Pinkie was crying. She held her head in her hooves, her flattened mane cascading down and covering her face. I put my guitar to the side, ran forward and hugged her. I wasn't sure what else to do, but this seemed to be enough. She flung her hooves around my neck and sobbed into my shoulder. We stayed like that for almost an hour. Blue Moon decided to step out and leave us alone after about tone minutes, saying she had to buy some groceries anyway. The sound of a door opening caught my attention and I looked up to see Apple Bloom, Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo stood there, an electric guitar strung across Scootaloo's back. They stood there, staring. I put a hoof to my lips, signalling them to be quiet. They all nodded, Apple Bloom closing the door softly as they came in and sat down. "R-Rifty?" Pinkie sobbed, calming down slightly. "Yeah, Pinkie?" "Can I tell you a secret?" I looked at the girls, but they were already making their way outside. Smiling softly, I returned my attention to Pinkie Pie. "Sure Pinkie. I won't tell anyone." "Pinkie Promise?" I looked down at her, confused. She must have remembered I had no idea what she was talking about, because she recited it for me. "Cross my heart..." She said, drawing a cross on her chest with a hoof. I copied her, repeating her words. "Hope to fly..." She accentuated this with a small flutter of her forelegs. Once again I copied the action and repeated the words. "Stick a cupcake in my eye." She finished, covering her left eye with her hoof. I finished the routine myself and assured her that I would never tell another living soul. "When I was little..." She began. " my sisters, Inkie and Blinkie, never really liked me. They always called me a freak because I was born pink." I frowned. What does your fur colour have to do with anything? "It's because both my parents were dull colours." She explained. "My mom was slate grey while my dad was a baby-barf green. She had a black mane, he had white. Both my sisters were grey." "Pinkie, you're sisters were just being jerks." I spat. She looked at me, shocked, and I smirked at her. "I said WERE. I don't know if they've changed." "They have. Anyway, my brother was the only one who stood by me. Probably because he was a different colour too." "What colour was he?" This was getting me worried. I don't know why, but I've always had a sense for bombshells. Fictional or… weaponry. "White. As snow. With a golden blonde mane." She sniffled, and I was afraid she'd break down again. Luckily she didn't. "Another odd thing about him was that, although our entire family is Earth Ponies, he was born a Pegasus. Can you imagine the look on my Grandpa's face?" "Pinkie, both my parents are Earth Ponies AND biggots. And their two kids were born a Pegasus and a Unicorn. They practically threw us into our grandparents hooves within half a second of us being born." I smiled at her and, thankfully, she giggled a little. "Well, my Dad kept Berryswainer around for those harder-to-reach chores, like fixing the barn roof." I raised an eyebrow at this. "Oh, my parents are rock farmers." "Ah." "Yeah. NOT fun." We shared a laugh at this. "Berry was strong. He could pretty much lift a boulder and fly it across the farm. Unfortunately, he wasn't very f-fast." I caught her hesitation and pulled her into another hug. "T-there was an avalanche, Thunder Rift. Berry and I had been s-sent to collect some m-more rocks to g-grow the gems in. We went f-farther than we were a-allowed. I-I sneezed a-and…" I sat silently. Damn it, why can I never be wrong about bombshells! "H-he died, Rifty. He th-threw me as far a-as he could, and was c-crushed. It's all m-my fault!" She broke down, once again crying into my shoulder. I looked to the door as I heard it open again and saw the CMC peek their heads in, their eyes asking of it was ok to come in. I nodded solemnly. "I-it was his dream to be a professional song writer. That was one of his. Dad already sold the rights to Neighly, but I have his old songbook. C-could you maybe…?" "Pinkie Pie, it would be an honour to perform your brothers songs." Pinkie's ApartmentMlp fanfic Pt.6 Pinkie Pie calmed down after awhile. She told me that the book was under her pillow in her apartment above Sugar-Cube Corner, so I left her with the CMC while I went to pick it up. I walked into the bakery and was greeted by Mrs.Cake at the register. "Well hello there! How can I help you?" She asked. Her tone was so cheery I couldn't help but smile slightly. "I'm actually just here to pick something up for Pinkie Pie. Is it ok if I go up?" I replied. She smiled and nodded, and I moved past the counter and up the stairs in the back room. Pinkie's apartment was… not what I expected. I expected balloons and streamers everywhere, with children's magazines littering every surface. Instead I found what could have been mistaken as a musicians lair. Immediately after walking in, a stereo began what I recognised as one of my songs. I smiled, realising she was a fan trying to be nice and friendly instead of… well… kidnapping me. It was 'raise your glass'. A personal favourite. I actually started singing along as I walked through the pink mare's home. "Right, right, turn off the lights. We gonna lose our minds tonight. What's the deal-i-o?" A large piano took up one corner of the living room, with a book of Octavia Philharmonica's work sat up in the stand. "I love when it's all too much. 5am, turn the radio up. Where's the rock-and-roll?" A DJ table was in the kitchen as I passed it. Hopefully the bass was all that got dropped in there. Hehe. "Party crasher, penny snatcher." Guitars lined the hallway walls as I made my way to a door with three balloons painted on it, two blue one yellow. Pinkie Pie's cutie mark. "Call me up if you a gangsta." I pushed the door open slowly, taking in the sight of the room. "Don't be fancy, just get dancey!" THIS is what I expected from Pinkie. "Why so serious?" I left the song to play by itself as I made my way through the chaos of Pinkie's room. Pranking books, party supplies and random pieces of paper were strewn about everywhere. I made it to her bed, a large pinkie and white thing, and moved the pillow to the side. Sure enough, there was a notebook lying there. A small, battered-looking thing wrapped in white leather. 'Berryswainer's Dreams' was written on the front in gold letters, below which was a pink heart. Inside the heart were the words 'rest well Berry'. I shed a single tear as I picked the book up in my wings, not wanting to damage it any further. I made my way out of the apartment, making sure to turn the radio off on my way. I thanked Mrs.Cake and left for home. On my way, Rainbow Dash landed abruptly in front of me. I jumped, but thankfully I never dropped the book. "Hey Thunder." She said. "I thought you were hanging with the kids today. Scootaloo was… hey, what's that?" Before I could answer, Rainbow had swiped the book from my wings and was reading the cover. She froze. She lowered the book and glared at me intently. "What the BUCK are you DOING with BERRY'S BOOK!" She screamed, her volume rising. I frowned at her, insulted. "For your information, Dash, Pinkie asked me to get it. And how do you know about Berry anyway?!" "Pinkie has been my best friend since I moved to Ponyville. Other than Vinyl and Octavia, I'm the only one she told. Until now apparently." "Why'd she tell those two?" "A DJ and a cellist in the Canterlot Orchestra. Why wouldn't she tell them about a book of un-used music?" "Good point." Twilight (+ guest)The first stop me and Pinkie Pie made was obviously Sugar Cube Corner, where I met the Cake's. and I gotta say, they are the best bakers in all of Equestria. Honestly. Mrs. Cake had just finished her patented 'Marzipan Mascarpone Meringue Madness' cake and I managed to buy the first piece. And can I just say: "oh my sweet Celestia that is the most amazing desert ever!" I bought another slice and dropped it off at home for Blue Moon, then followed Pinkie to her next friends house. We walked for around 5 minutes until Pinkie stopped outside the local library. "This is where Twilight lives and works, along with her dragon assistant Spike." Pinkie said, bouncing up and down. I smiled at her antics and went to knock on the door when Pinkie just pushed it open and barged right in. I sighed. "Hello? Twiiiiillllliiiight! You home?" Pinkie called, eliciting a groan from me. She may be my new friend, but I can already tell she's gonna be a handful. I perked my ears as I thought I heard muttering upstairs, but refrained from snooping. About half a minute later, a lavender unicorn trotted down with a light blush plastered onto her face. "P-Pinkie, what a nice surprise. How are you?" she said, obviously not noticing me. That was soon fixed though. "I'm fine, Twilight! I'm just showing my new friend Rifty around town." She then leaned in extremely close to Twilight's ear and said "He's new." That seemed to pique Twilight's interest as she looked over to me. Instantly she squealed and ran over to a desk which I guess was used for writing. She came back with a magazine and a CD case. "You're Thunder Rift, aren't you?" She asked, but cut me off before I could answer. "Oh my gosh, this is so exciting! Could you maybe sign my CD?" I chuckled, and took the case and a pen. "Anything for a friend of Pinkie's, and hopefully mine." I handed the CD back and she fainted on the spot. "She never was good with celebrities." Pinkie said, grinning. We moved her to a small couch and moved on, but not before Pinkie shouted up the stairs. "Tia! Twi's unconscious on the couch!" "Who's Tia?" I asked as we walked down the street. "It's short for Celestia." Pinkie replied nonchalantly. "Oh, ok." "Wait..." Morning!I woke up the next morning to the smell of caramel pancakes. I'm not even sure I was awake fully as my body drifted out of the bed and through my house towards the kitchen. My eyes fell upon a hazy pink form stood in front of the stove. It turned around, revealing the smiling face of Pinkie Pie who was holding a plate of caramel pancakes. "Mornin'!" My senses returned to me then and I fell to the floor as my wings straightened out. "Crap..." I muttered, pushing myself off of the floor and moving to the table. Pinkie looked at me and giggled. "Well at least you seem calm." I said, folding my wings back into my body. She smiled warmly at me. "I haven't had my coffee yet." She made two cups of coffee and sat down, pushing a plate of her pancakes towards me. I took a bite and was instantly lost in flavour. I sighed, my eyes drooping and pulled a goofy, lop-sided grin. Pinkie giggled again. "That good?" She asked, to which I only nodded. "Well eat up then!" Blue Moon walked in groggily and smiled when she saw Pinkie. "Mornin' Pinks. How're you?" She said, sitting down. "Fine thanks, here. I made breakfast." Pinkie replied, pushing a plate of pancakes to my sister. They were gone in a matter of seconds. "I invited a couple friends over to jam with us later, you in?" I asked. Moon looked up from her plate and raised an eyebrow at me. "What!? Its just some fillies! One of them got their cutie mark and its a guitar, and we need a guitarist, so I asked her to come over, and her friends wanted to come too, so I said yes." Pinkie looked at me, her head tilted to the side. "What?" I asked, confused. "Don't you need to breath?" My eyes widened as I realised that I hadn't breathed at all since telling Moon about the girls and I gulped in as much air as I could. Pinkie giggled again and I smiled at her. "You know, you're really cute like this. Maybe you should lay off the coffee?" I said. She frowned slightly, taking a sip. "S-sorry!" I stuttered, afraid I'd upset her. "It's okay." She replied, not looking up." I just have a... condition. Coffee helps." "Oh." Great. Now Pinkie's upset and I feel bad. "Hey, how about you hang with us today? I've heard you have a great voice." She blushed slightly and smiled. "Sure, why not." "Cool. You know any good songs?" Blue Moon asked. "Well. There's the one my brother used to sing to me. It's kinda catchy." "Would you mind singing it for us?" I asked. She nodded and walked over to Blue Moon's keyboard after handing me two pieces of paper. "Lyrics and sheet music. I'll need your help." I picked up my acoustic and sat the sheet music in a stand. After we played a quick opening melody, Pinkie nodded to me and I went with the tune... Monsters in Poni?Rainbow Dash left after she saw Spitfire flying past, saying something about a 'bedroom spit roast'. I didn't even wanna know. I just started walking back to my place again, staring at the book. I opened the door and stopped. The perfect fusion of guitar, metallic drums and vocals hit my ears at that point. I stood, flabbergasted at the sound. Scootaloo had her guitar, but was playing it slower than an electric is supposed to be played. It almost sounded like a violin! Apple Bloom had an arrangement of pots and pans and was calmly playing them like a drumset with two wooden spoons. Sweetie had found my old red scarf and black chapeau from my Poni gigs and had put them on, looking very mysterious. Pinkie just sat watching them, smiling slightly. Sweetie started singing. "I hide my light, inside a cloak of night. Beneath a red scarf and a chapeau." I jaw dropped. Her voice was so soft! No filly had ever had a voice like hers, not even Philly Spears! "The pearl of my heart, locked within a shell. I'm too afraid to let it go. To let it show!" I moved over to where Pinkie was sitting, placing myself beside her. Sweetie looked up, looking grim. "And all the headlines read, for all the world to see; A Monster in Po~ ni!" Wow. Just… wow. "I fall apart. I fall apart. Apparantly, I did appear; beneath the lights. Yes, it was me. A Monster in Po~ ni!" It was almost as if this had actually happened to her! "I hide my pain, inside a melody! The different notes I sing will set me free." Rarity has to know. "I keep all my dreams, under lock and key! I'm so afraid that they will fly away from me! A Monster in Po~ ni! A Monster in Po~ ni! A Monster in Po~ ni…"

C-could you maybe…?" "Pinkie Pie, it would be an honour to perform your brothers songs."
Pinkie's ApartmentMlp fanfic Pt.6 Pinkie Pie calmed down after awhile. Why wouldn't she tell them about a book of un-used music?" "Good point."
Twilight (+ guest)The first stop me and Pinkie Pie made was obviously Sugar Cube Corner, where I met the Cake's. and I gotta say, they are the best bakers in all of Equestria. Honestly. "Oh, ok." "Wait..."
Morning!I woke up the next morning to the smell of caramel pancakes.
