(Neiro's point of view)
A knocking is heard from the front door of the dorm. I drag myself over to the door until I hear a voice from beyond it, "Hello, uh, i-is this Dorm C?" I freeze when I hear the voice, 'It can't be.' I tentatively open the door, making sure to have my hair in my face so that the person behind the door won't see it.
"H-hello," I say to the girl outside, "Y-yes this is Dorm C."
"Hey, who is it at the door?" Vinyl called from the couch, she had arrived with Lyra only a few minutes ago.
"Uh, I was assigned to this dorm, I just moved here from my old school in London, my name's Nova," The girl explained, "Uh, what is your name?"
"I-it doesn't matter," I say nervously to her.
"I'm Vinyl," says, having walked right up next to me, "Hey didn't you go to a school in London too, Ne-"
"It's not important Vinyl," I say, cutting her off.
"Oh really? Which school?" Nova asks.
"Eh, just ... a school, it's not important," I say.
"You know, your voice sounds familiar, have we met before?" Nova asks.
"I doubt it, no one ever really talked to me in London," I answer.
"Also you talk and act a lot like someone I know, are you sure we haven't met?" She presses.
"I'm pretty sure that we haven't," I reply, hoping that she would leave it there.
"Let me see your face, that will tell us if I do know you or not," She says, "I never forget faces."
I brush my hair out of my face, "Well?" I mentally plead, 'Please don't recognize me.'
"Neiro? Is that you?" She says, having recognized my face.
'Shit,' I think to myself. "Y-yes, it's me," I say.
"Oh my goodness, I can't believe that I found you!" She exclaims and attempts to hug me but I step away. "Huh, Neiro aren't you happy to see me?"
"My question is why are you happy to see me? I specifically remember you saying that you had 'left for a reason, and that I was the reason why'," I say to her.
"Wait, am I missing something here?" Vinyl asks.
"Me and Nova sorta dated a bit back in London, but we broke up a year ago when she realized that she couldn't stand me," I say in a bitter voice, "Just like everyone else."
"It's not my fault that we grew apart Neiro, and it wasn't you who I couldn't stand, it was who you were becoming," Nova replied in a cold voice.
"So you couldn't stand who I am?" I say in an empty tone.
"What do you mean?" She asks.
"You couldn't stand who I really am, you only cared for who I pretended to be, who I hated to be," I say, anger rising to my voice.
"What?" Nova asks.
"All my life I had hid who I truly was because I didn't like it, because I wanted to be a nice person, because I didn't want to end up like my father. But when I finally accepted who I am you had already left me, I began to hate who I was because all it ever did was let things hurt me, I've given it up so it can't let things hurt me again," I explain.
"Neiro, this isn't you, I don't know what lead you to believe that this is true, but trust me this isn't you, you're a nice, compassionate person, I know that," Nova tries to convince me.
"YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHO I AM!" I yell at her, "You never did!"
"Neiro just calm down," Vinyl tells me.
"DON'T YOU FU-" I stop, "You're right I need to calm down."
"Good, now just sit down and try to stay calm while I talk to Nova a bit, alright?" Vinyl asks me.
"Okay," I sit down on the couch and I start reading.
Nova and Vinyl start talking about something. It ends with Vinyl almost yelling, "No I don't!" and Nova walking away saying, "Trust me you do, I know it when I see it."
"What was that all about?" I ask Vinyl.
"Oh it was nothing," Vinyl answers.
