TESTING
Previous ChapterNext ChapterChapter five: Testing
King Sombra finally got off the elevator. He walked down the hallway and through one of the odd shaped circular doors at the end and ended up in another room, this one had a strange cubic block and an odd red circle thing.
“A button.” he decided.
Above the cube there was some sort of tube that came from the ceiling.
From the button there were some sort of blue lights leading up to a blue X next to yet another door.
He walked up to the door.
Nothing happened.
“Come on, OPEN!” he thought.
Nothing happened.
“Stupid thing must be broken.” He thought. “Oh well.”
He deformed into shadow.
He both loved and hated doing this.
He loved it because he could see everything in the room and beyond and could go through almost anything.
He hated it because it gave him a migraine.
He attempted to fly through the door via speed of darkness.
But he just slammed into the hunk of metal and reformed.
He rubbed his head.
“WHAT!” he began bucking against the door “YOUR MOTHER WAS A ROCK AND YOUR FATHER WAS A BUCKING PRISON DOOR, GAAAAAAH!”
BANG!
BANG!
He gave up.
“Cool.” He said. “I must remain cool and calm; now let’s find a bucking way out of here.”
“I’m back.” Said the terribly annoying computerized voice that called itself GLaDOS. “And I see you haven’t solved the first test yet, huh no wonder you weren’t able to hold that crazy empire of yours for very long.”
“Shut up.” He said.
“no.” said GLaDOS. “Now in this room we have two of our most simple testing associates, the button and the weighted storage cube, if your as smart as I think you are you’ll be done in about... a day.”
Sombra rolled his red eyes he was going to have to do things her way... for now.
He stood on the button and the door opened.
“ah.” He said trotting toward the door.
It shut.
“HEY!” he said.
“It wasn’t me.” Said GLaDOS.
“hmm.” He said looking over the test.
He levitated the cube and put it on the button.
The door opened.
He was about to walk through when he noticed an odd particle field behind it.
“Don’t worry.” Said GLaDOS. “It’s just an emancipation grill to prevent you from taking test objects with you.”
He decided to trust her and walk through.
A searing pain went through his entire body.
“AAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRGGGG!”
BOOM!
He went flying back into the test.
“yeah.” He said. “Can’t hurt me at all.”
“Oh my...” said GLaDOS sounding equally surprised. “That’s never happened before what’s going on?”
“I’ll tell you what’s going on, you’re a big liar!” he shot a large blast of magic at the grill’s generators.
BOOM!
A few sparks flew out of wear the fizzler used to be.
He walked through the door.
“I’m sorry.” Said GLaDOS. “I really didn’t expect that to happen.”
“Uh huh.”
“Really!”
“I don’t believe you.”
“I’ll turn off the fizzlers on your next tests if it makes you feel any better.”
“I’d rather you drop dead but that’ll have to do.”
He stepped into the elevator.
GLaDOS hung in the control room wondering what the heck had just happened.
The Twilight pony had gone through the fizzler just fine, though there were a few differences between the two Equines.
“well.” She said to herself. “I’ll just have to take the fizzler out of all his tests; oh that reminds me I have to assign serial numbers to the subjects.”
She quickly typed up a list.
KING SOMBRA = SUBJECT E000
TWILIGHT SPARKLE = SUBJECT E001
RAINBOW DASH = SUBJECT E002
APPLJACK = SUBJECT E003
RARITY = SUBJECT E004
FLUTTERSHY = SUBJECT E005
PINKIE PIE = SUBJECT E006
SPIKE = SUBJECT R000
“there.” She said then she distributed the list to all of Aperture over the microphone.
“the following is what each of you equines, and lizard will be addressed as, KING SOMBRA = SUBJECT E000, TWILIGHT SPARKLE = SUBJECT E001, RAINBOW DASH = SUBJECT E002, APPLJACK = SUBJECT E003, RARITY = SUBJECT E004, FLUTTERSHY = SUBJECT E005, PINKIE PIE = SUBJECT E006, SPIKE = SUBJECT R000, now prepare your little pony brains for perpetual testing and lots of portals.”
And thus testing began.
