Besides the Buffalo near the Town of Appleoosa, there was another people. They and the Buffalo were friends of long standing. The World Weavers were carnivores whose slowly made but powerful magic was used for the benefit of all.

They were attacked and their village destroyed by a small group of ponies greedy for political power and wealth in the small town of Scrubble.

Kalara is one of the survivors. She is Weaving her vengeance on Scrubble but is troubled by what she is doing. She meets the colt Jonathan and his sister Gala. The story unfolds from there.
