Candy Muffins

Derpy sat in her dank, lonley room in the Ponyville Orphanage.She cried looking at the last picture she had of her parents. She wiped her tears as she looked back at the day she was put into the orphanage.

  She had just woken up when her loving mother called her to breakfast. Derpy ate the same old -same old, a blueberry muffin and a cup of Apple Cider, which was her favorite. It seemed like a ordinary day for Derpy, little did she know this is the day that would change her life forever.

  As she headed to school, she passed other pegasi who looked at her and laughed. She knew she was different and accepted it. She just couldn't stand it when they called her names. When she got to school she noticed a pink pony was watching her. As soon as the pink pony realized Derpy saw her, she ran away. Derpy disregarded it and went to class. Before she knew it, it was lunch. She sat her brown paper bag on the table and opened it. She pulled out a muffin and started to nibble on it. "Hey, Derpy!" said Derpy's friend, Screwball, "What do you have for lunch today?". Derpy smiled. Screwball was Derpy's best friend, partly because they both were wall-eyed. "Muffins" Derpy said, as she pulled one out and gave it to Screwball "as usual.". Screwball smiled. Derpy's Muffins were her favorite! All Screwball ever brought was a cookie and a PB&J sandwich. Before she knew it lunch was over!

  Derpy walked back to class and sat down.She smiled at the teacher,Rainy Day.She was a kind teacher who was strict when she had to be.Derpy loved Rainy Day.Derpy listened closely to Rainy,but she was distracred by the voices she heard brhind her.She turned around and saw two colts staring at her and snickering.Derpy knew they were making fun of her and turned around, angry.The teacher was standing infront of her, looking at Derpy

quizically."Well?" Rainy asked.Derpy stared at her with a blank expression.Rainy turned around and wrote something on the board.Derpy was used to this.Her day was the same song-and-dance.

  When the bell rang, Derpy ran home but, on the way she saw the pink pony again. She waved but the pony ignored her and walked away. When she walked in her front door she saw her parents arguing. Her mom told her to pack. Derpy had a confused look on her face but did what her mom said. Her mom tried to explain that she had to go where her dad couldn't hurt her. Derpy had seen Daddy hit Mommy before but, thought she just was bad like how when she did something wrong she was spanked. Her mom walked her to a building Derpy didn't recognize. Derpy sounded out the words on the front " Or-phan-age". "Why are we at an orphanage?" Derpy asked. "You have to leave so Daddy doesn't hurt me" Derpy's mom said , almost crying. "For how long?" Derpy said, her eyes starting to water. "Until another family wants you." Derpy's mom gave Derpy a big hug, crying. "I love you!" Derpy said. Derpy's mom gave her a kiss on the forehead and said " I love you too." Derpy's mom filled out some paperwork, hugged Derpy, and left Derpy there all alone
