She Said "I Love You."
Embarrassment and Confrontation
Previous ChapterNext ChapterSpike was awakened from his mid-day nap by a furious banging at the front door. He dragged himself out of his bed and made his way to the front door. When he flung it open he found Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie trying to fight each other through the door frame. “What are you two doing?”
They managed to disentangle themselves from the door and straighten up. “Spike, we need to see-“ Rainbow’s sentence was cut off by Pinkie.
“We gotta see Twilight, Spike it’s super important it’s like life and death or at least love and what’s life without love? It would be like a fish that doesn’t have gills and that’s really really sad so we gotta see Twilight right now!” She stood there panting for a moment before Spike caught up with her rushed outburst.
“Well… she’s busy. Her door is locked so she’s probably studying or something really boring like that.”
Dash pushed Pinkie out of the way. “Well can you at least knock? It’s super important!”
Spike shrugged. “She’ll just ignore me. Whenever she locks herself in her room there’s no way to get her out. She’ll come out on her own when she’s ready.”
Dash rolled her eyes. “Screw this, I’m in a rush.” She ran back outside and flew up to the higher reaches of the tree, landing on the balcony outside of Twilight’s room. The doors were unlocked, and she let herself in. “Twilight! I need- oh shit.” The sight in front of her made her heart leap into her throat.
Twilight was on her back, laying on her bed. She was naked from the waist down, with her shirt and bra pulled up. Her left hand was between her legs, working a vibrator into her pussy, and her right hand was pinching one of her nipples. It took a moment for her to break out of her lust-induced stupor to see Rainbow Dash standing in her room, staring at her while she masturbated. She threw the first thing she could get her hands on straight at Rainbow’s head.
Rainbow Dash was sitting on a couch in Twilight’s living room, nursing a lump on her forehead. Twilight was coming downstairs after putting her jeans back on, still incredibly red in the face. Pinkie was, of course, laughing about the whole situation.
Twilight sat next to Dash. Neither girl looked at each other for a while. Finally, Dash broke the silence with a grumble. “You could say you’re sorry.”
Twilight turned, incredulously. “Me? Sorry? For what?”
“For clocking me in the noggin with your vibrator!”
Twilight turned a deeper shade of red. “It’s the first thing I could reach! And it’s your fault for walking in on me… doing that. Plus it’s broken now… so we’re even I guess.”
Dash pushed the images of Twilight’s perky tits and hairless pussy out of her mind for the moment. “Sorry I barged in, but I need to talk to you.”
Twilight sighed and leaned back in the couch. “Second time in a week you barge in to see me naked, both times you need help. I hope this won’t become a pattern.”
“Twilight… I followed your advice and told AJ how I feel.”
“How’d that work out?”
Pinkie chose this moment to chime in from the floor. “They had sex!”
Twilight’s blush found its way back to her face. “Well that went better than expected.”
“Yeah, but she said she loved me when she came, and then she freaked out about it and ran!”
“She ran away? From you?” Something on Twilight’s face said she wasn’t buying the story.
Dash looked away. “I mean… she freaked out and I got mad and kicked her out.”
“Ugh, great. So what do you want me to do?”
“I dunno… give me advice? Cast a love spell on AJ? Just do what you do! Do your whole… smartypants thing!”
Twilight looked somewhat annoyed about being called a ‘smartypants’ but that wouldn’t stop her from doling out her wisdom. “Dash, my advice is the same as it was last time, just go talk to her.”
“You really think it’ll work again?”
“Well it did last time.”
“Ugh… you’re right… as always. I guess I’ll go find AJ.”
Pinkie shot up from the floor and grabbed Twilight by the shoulders. “And while Dashie is gone, we can go vibrator shopping!”
“What? No Pinkie I don’t-“
Before she could finish, Pinkie had dragged her out of her house and down the street.
Rainbow Dash’s heart was beating out of her chest as she walked up the path to Sweet Apple Acres. Half of her hoped Applejack wasn’t around so she could put this off. As she passed the rows and rows of trees lining the path she tried to come up with a plan of action, or at the very least, what the hell she was going to say. She stopped at the front door of the modest farmhouse and held her fist in front of the door. She couldn’t bring herself to knock. Come on damn it. I’m a damned daredevil, knocking should be easy. She drew her hand back, brought it forward, and almost knocked once.
“Hey, Rainbow Dash!”
The sudden shout made Rainbow jump a foot and nearly wet herself. She turned to see the beaming face of Apple Bloom.
“Oh uh, hey Apple Bloom.” Dash wasn’t expecting to see anybody else. She nearly abandoned her quest, but she steeled her courage and soldiered on. “I’m looking for AJ. Is she uh… here?”
“She’s in the barn.” Apple Bloom suddenly looked concerned. “She’s been in there for a while now actually…”
“Okay well… I guess I’ll head over there then.” Dash started towards the barn at an oddly slow pace. The front doors were wide open, so she let herself in. The place looked deserted, save for the farm tools and bags of seed and fertilizer. Dash raised her voice to a quiet shout. “Hey AJ? You here?” No response. “I wanna talk.”
“Up here.” Applejack’s response was subdued. Her voice was coming from the hay loft. Dash climbed the ladder to the upper floor. She found AJ in a corner of the lost, sitting on a loose pile of hay with a six pack nearby. Well to be honest, it was just a two pack at this point.
“Hey AJ. I uh… I think we need to talk about what happened.”
Applejack sighed before responding. “Yeah, I figured. Here.” She tossed a can of beer to Dash, but nearly missed by a foot.
“Rainbow Dash cracked open the can and sat near Applejack.” Neither of them talked for a while. They didn’t know what to say.
“I’m sorry I freaked out.” Applejack was avoiding Dash’s gaze.
“It’s okay. I was worried about you is all.”
“Yeah.”
They sat in silence for a while longer.
“Look, AJ… Damn It I don’t know what to say. I’m sorry this happened. I can tell you weren’t up for it and I basically forced myself on you. I know you’re straight… and even if you weren’t I can understand you not wanting to date someone like me.”
“Shut the fuck up.” Applejack’s response startled Dash; she wasn’t expecting her to sound so angry. “What the hell do you even mean ‘someone like me’? You mean a great friend? You mean someone who’s fucking passionate about life? Is that what you mean?”
“N-no. I mean someone who can’t even handle a relationship and-“
“No. Fuck you if you think that badly of yourself. I didn’t run away because of you. I ran away because I’m the one who’s fucked up.” For the first time Applejack looked up at Dash, and Dash could see that her eyes were red. “Damn it Dash, I could never think badly of you, you shouldn’t be so damn hard on yourself. You’re my best friend. And I… I never thought of you as anything else until last night. Last night everything felt so perfect, it felt so damn right. And then I said I love you and I fucked it up.”
“Wait, what do you mean you fucked it up?”
“I know you don’t throw around the L word casually like some people. I knew it would scare you off. But I said it anyways.”
“You’re worried that you’re gonna scare me off?” Dash stood up. “Damn it AJ, I love you! There, I said it. I. Love. You. I’ve loved you for a long time! I know I don’t have a great track record on commitment, but I... I don’t want to leave you. As long as you don’t want to leave me.”
Silence fell between them again until AJ spoke up, barely above a whisper. “I don’t like girls.” Her words were like a knife through Dash’s heart. “I’ve thought about it since I got home. I thought really hard about it. Heh… I even snuck out one of Big Mac’s pornos to see if I was into it… and I’m not.”
Dash held back a tear. “Okay…” She was ready to run and hide away in shame.
“I only like you.”
It took a while for this to process in Dash’s brain. “What do you mean?”
AJ looked up at Dash and smiled. “I only want you. When I think about you I get butterflies in my stomach. When I think about kissing you… I feel like the happiest girl in Equestria. Last night… last night I never wanted to leave.”
Dash jumped into Applejack’s arms and stayed there until Granny Smith called everyone to dinner, Rainbow Dash included.
After dinner AJ walked Dash down the path from the farmhouse. They held hands in silence until the path met the road.
“Dash… I don’t just want this to be like… a ‘casual’ thing. If I’m gonna date a girl, I want to actually date, okay?”
Dash smiled. “Of course.”
“What are you doing tomorrow?”
“Um, not much. Why?”
Applejack looked away shyly. “The Canterlot Carnival is in town.”
“Cool.” Dash didn’t seem to be following AJ’s train of thought.
“And uh… I’ve never been.” Dash didn’t respond. AJ cleared her throat meaningfully.
Suddenly, it dawned on Dash. “OH! Uh, do you… wanna go to the carnival with me tomorrow?”
“Sure!” AJ quickly kissed Dash, and hurried back to the farmhouse.
Dash was laying on her bed that night, trying to digest everything that’s happened in the past few days. Somehow, it didn’t seem entirely real. But then she remembered the feel of Applejack’s lips on hers, and her heart skipped a beat. So this is how it feels when everything is going perfectly… A sudden knock on her door snapped her back to reality. She found a tired-looking Twilight Sparkle standing outside.
“Oh, hey Twi. Wanna come in?”
“No thanks, I’m on my way home. So uh… how did it go?” Twilight tried to ask the question delicately.
Dash suddenly lit up, and beamed at Twilight. “Great! She likes me! I don’t know why, but she wants to go out with me! We’re going to the carnival tomorrow!”
“That’s amazing! Congratulations!” Twilight was suddenly pulled into a crushing hug from Dash.
“Seriously Twilight, I couldn’t have done it without you. You’re the best friend I’ve ever had. I don’t know what I would do without you.”
“No, I’m sure it would have worked out even without me. But next time you need advice, call ahead to make sure I have my clothes on.”
“Haha, you got it Twi.”
“Oh, that reminds me…” Twilight thrust a brown paper bag into Dash’s hands. “Pinkie bought that for you. She said you’ll need it since you uh… don’t have one. Her words, not mine.” She was blushing furiously.
“Oh uh, thanks Twi.”
Twilight bade her goodnight and hurried off to her own home. Dash went back into her room before tearing open the mystery gift from Pinkie. She stared at it for a moment and half laughed, half groaned. “Of course it is. Thanks Pinkie…”
It was a pink, double ended, ten inch strap on.
