From The Tales of the Travelers first chapter known as A Terrarian Adventure, Sol and Mon are sent to Equestria, and are immediately arrested by the guard. The two spirits need to find a way back to Terraria, and they need all the help they can get. Without Discord, David, or the Doctor, they don't know what to do.
