Chapters In the dark woods of White tail woods two ponies wearing brown hoods were carrying a woven basket. They were running away from somepony at a great speed, running as fast as they could, they were running faster than a pony would run during the running of the leaves when the leaves were all the autumn colors of red, orange, and yellow and they would make a crunching sound against their hooves. But it wasn't fall now, it was almost the end of winter and soon to be spring. Most of the sparkly white snow was melted and for the past few days its been on and off storms. The taller of the two was letting the short one holding the basket take the lead as he made sure the ponies chasing them would not be able to catch up. They took twists and turns trying to lose the ponies but they were not able to. A group of ponies dressed in dark armor appeared suddenly in front of them. The leader who wore a red dragon symbol on his armor, his voice was deep. "Drop the basket if you know whats good for you foolish ponies." The smaller one of the two brown hooded ponies spoke. Her voice sounded angry. "We will not. We will not let you have our little one." The leader chuckles. "You really believe we just stop. You both know who we are and what we can do." A pony from the groups horn glowed red as shot a fire ball at a near by tree. The taller hooded pony looked at the smaller one. "Run now!" The two started running, they were going through shortcuts and escaping any way they could. They were able to out run them but they had no clue how long.
Soon after what seemed like hours of running through the diamond dogs hideout in the mountain mines they looked at the sky. Dark storm clouds were forming and many ponies were still chasing them. The taller one looked up with a worried look on his face. "We must hurry my dear they are catching up to us again and we don't want them to have her." The smaller one said in a quite voice. "I know but we first must head to the library first you know that." Soon the basket made a quite cry. The smaller of the two put the basket down and looked at the little filly that was inside. "My little one you must be quite please." The smaller one looked at the other one. The taller one knew what she was going to do. He opened his bag and pulled out some ear plugs. "Go ahead." He said as he put them in. The smaller one nodded and started to sing a song. The words were hard to understand but sounded beautiful. She watched as her little filly fell asleep. "You can take out the earplugs dear." He took them out and smiled. "So do you think that she would really have you gift of song dear." She smiled and replied. "I know I can tell. Im just glad that if she does the song wont affect her when she is older. Now come we must hurry." He grabbed the basket and followed her. Soon after hours of more running, they ended up by the library. The smaller one took out a note. She looked at the taller one. "Please watch her. I will be as quick as I can." He nods. "I will protect her with my life you know that for sure." She ran inside to leave it and came out a minute later.
They ran in an another direction while the storm started. They were by a river about a few yards away from a farm in a place known as New Saddle. It seemed like a nice farm there was lots of land, that crops could easily grow and it seemed like the last place anypony would come looking for the little filly in the basket. The rain was pouring hard and the little filly was wailing loudly, the baby blue blanket was getting soaked. The two ponies put the basket on the ground. "We are sorry we wish there was another way." They said as they left the wailing filly,both of them wiped away their tears as they hurried away. In the old farm house that looked as if it was past down from generation to generation with its patched up roof and the dusty curtains that hung in the windows, lived two earth pony farmers. They were in the kitchen when suddenly they heard the sound of crying. The mare named Mrs. Dandelion Veggie had light brown coat with a dark purple mane and a celery shaped cutie mark was cooking dinner when she heard it. "Honey it sounds like somepony is crying lets go look." Mr. Soy Veggie has a silver coat and a blue mane, his cutie mark was a tractor, got up from his chair. "Ok dear lets go." They followed the crying and searched by the river. When they got there they saw a woven basket with the words Musicnotes and a date, inside the basket was a little blue pony with wings and a horn with a baby blue blanket on her. They were shocked, they couldn't believe that somepony would leave a helpless foul by its self. Mrs. Veggie said, "We cant just leave her." Mr Veggie nodded. "Your right we must raise her as if she was ours."
Mrs. Veggie picked up the basket and went inside She dried off Musicnotes. "Shes beautiful you know with her wings and horn its pretty amazing." Mrs. Veggie started to rock her back and forth in her hooves. Mr. Veggie moved the basket. "Yes she is and now she is our little Musicnotes." From then on they raised her but for the fist few months things were tough. The little alicorn filly loved to fly around the house day and night. She would teleport anywhere she wanted like one moment she would be in her crib and the next she would be on the roof. The Veggies knew they would have their hooves full but they didn't care. They loved her and they would make sure they would tell her the truth when she got older.
Musicnotes cutie mark
In the few years after Mr. and Mrs Veggie found Musicnotes they raised her as she was their own. They told her that they weren't her real parents and she accepted that. They told her that they found her and that was it. Mr. and Mrs. Veggie didn't want to tell her about the storm figuring she might end up hating her real parents. Musicnotes enjoyed living on the farm and got really use to it. She helped her with the chores and helped sell the crops, she hummed to herself as she did theses chores. Musicnotes and her the ponies she calls her family had so many good times. There was one Nightmare Night that Musicnotes was dressed up as a princess. Her gown was hooved stitch and was made out of sparkly pink fabric and she had a toy crown. She looked at Mrs. Veggie calling her by her first name. "Dandelion look I finally am a princess just like everypony says I should be since I'm an alicorn." Mrs. Veggie smiled at her. "My little Musicnotes, with or with out the costume you are my princess and even if you weren't an alicorn you would still be my princess." Musicnotes at the time smiled and went off to get some sweet candy.
Over the years Musicnotes was well know in New Saddle because of the fact she was an alicorn,most of the fillies at her school thought she would be able to do all kinds of magic but sadly Musicnotes was never all that good in doing magic. She had no clue why but it just made her who she was. She would rather fly then do magic, she learned to fly easily. It all started one day when her and her unicorn friends were practicing doing some spells. Delilah was going first, she was a red unicorn with white and silver mane. She did a levitation spell and levitated a rock. The rest of the group followed her example except for Musicnotes. When Delilah saw that she wasn't doing it she went up to her. "Musicnotes come on and do it. It should be easy for you come on." Musicnotes spoke softly in her reply. "Um...Im not that good you know that." Delilah gave her a just do it look. Then Musicnotes went up to a rock and tried the spell. The group of ponies laughed at her for what was a few minutes but to Musicnotes it seemed like hours. She felt disappointed in herself because she failed, she could never do magic when she wanted to sometimes. There were times when she wished she never had any magic.
Then the school bell rang and everypony went inside the white school house ready to do some learning. The class hurried to their seats, Musicnotes sat in the far back corner away from most of the classmates. When she sat down the teacher passed out flyers to all the students for the upcoming talent show. Musicnotes looked at it. "A talent show, that sounds fun." When she said that all her classmates turned to her. "So Musicnotes what will you be doing? Most of us have been talking about this since we all got our cutie marks." Musicnotes looked down at her flank it was bare she didn't have hers yet she was the only filly in her class. She looked at her classmates. Some of them had sports cutie marks, some had cheer leading, magic, and cooking. She didn't really care if she didn't have it yet. It was fine to her. "I...don't ...know...maybe I will sing." She said nervously. One of them said, "You sing? We hardly even hear you speak, this will be a fun then." Musicnotes guessed that they wanted to see her mess up.The school day went on with everypony practicing for the talent show.
Musicnotes went home to the farm after school and showed Mr. and Mrs. Veggie the flyer. Mr. Veggie said, "This should be very good. What will you be doing my little Musicnotes." Musicnotes smiled. "I think I will sing." Mrs. Veggie smiled at her. "You will do wonderfully, I just know it." Musicnotes went outside to get some work done. She harvested some carrots when she saw three little bunnies, two of them were black and one was white. They were very hungry. "You three must want some carrots." Musicnotes said in a kind voice. She counted the carrots and saw that she had more than enough so she grabbed three carrots and gave one to each of them. They ate them very quickly. Musicnotes smiled and said, "You must be very hungry do you want to come with me home, there are tons of carrots there." Musicnotes started to walk back home and saw that her bunny friends followed her. Musicnotes begged Mr. and Mrs. Veggie to let her keep them. "Please may I keep them, I promise I will take good care of them." It took a little of discussion and they agreed. They went to her room and sat on her bed. "Do you three want to hear a song I wrote for the talent show." Musicnotes looked at them and they nodded. Her voice was very soft as she started. "Im different but I don't care. I got wings, horn and kindness to share." Her song went on from there for a minute. Then she stopped. The bunnies gave her a group hug, she took that as a job well done. In a minute she knew that it would she would have to go to the talent show. She was pretty nervous she only sang songs when she was alone, she hoped she would do good.
When they got there Musicnotes went back stage when and saw all her classmates ready to rock in what ever they were doing. She saw a few doing a group magic show, some were doing cheer routines, and some were dancing. Musicnotes was going to be last so she got to watch all the others go first. She looked out of the ruby red curtain and saw Mr. and Mrs. Veggie in the second row. There were a bunch of parents with cameras ready to take pictures and she saw ponies she didn't know. She went back to the other fillies and watched them practice some more. Out in the audience a pony wearing a hood went up and sat by Mrs. Veggie. She put on a smile and asked. "Which one is yours?" Mrs. Veggie turned to her and saw the hood, she figured that the mare was wearing it because she was cold. "Mine is Musicnotes, she is going to be singing, is yours in the show too?" The mare replied. "Yes. My little one is in it too." The mare walked back to where she was before and waited for the show to begin. Musicnotes watched as all her classmates went before her she had no clue if she would preform as good as them. Then she heard the teacher call her on stage. She also heard sever of her classmates say things like. "Break a leg blank flank literally..." and "Looks like some ponies will turn deaf."
Music walked up to the microphone and used her magic to lift it up. "Hi..everypony..my name is Musicnotes and this is a song I wrote for tonight." Musicnotes was about to start when she heard somepony said,"Really you can sing since when." She had no clue were she heard it but took a deep breath and started to sing. Her voice was soft at first but it got clearer and louder as she continued. As she was singing she heard ponies whisper, "Wow she can sing" "Who knew." She just smiled and continued. When she finished all the ponies gave her a huge round of applause. She was proud of herself and then she saw a small flash of light. She looked at her flank and saw a yellow double eight note. Musicnotes smiled and took a bow. She received a metal and walked off stage with a gigantic smile on her face. But she wasn't the only one with a smile. In the shadows the brown hooded pony from before was with a taller pony with a brown hood also and they smiled. The Taller pony said, "You were right she can sing now lets go we don't want them to know we are here." The smaller pony nodded and said, "Fine, at least we do know that our little filly is well." They left in the shadows and disappeared.
Musicnotes has been having fun since she got her cutie mark. She always loved to sing and she can even play some instruments now that she learned a little. One day Musicnotes was trying to get her pet bunnies to sleep. She had given them names since she got them. The white bunny was called Snow, the black bunny with a white tale was called Storm, and the other black bunny was called Coal. They were jumping all around her room when it was suppose to be bed time, She thought they would have already wasted all their energy today when they were playing. "Alright my little bunnies time for you to go bed." Musicnotes said when she entered her room. The bunnies payed no attention to her as they jumped on her bed. "Please my friends." Music pleaded. They still didn't pay any attention. Soon Musicnotes was going to give up and leave but she didn't notice she was humming a tune since she hummed stuff all the time as she worked on her chores and homework. With in a minute all three of her bunnies were fast asleep. Musicnotes looked up. "How did they get asleep so fast?" She thought about it for a minute and realized she was humming.
Musicnotes flew downstairs to Mr. and Mrs. Veggie and asked. "Soy, Dandelion do you know what Im humming." She started to hum and slowly Mr.Veggie started to fall asleep but before he did Mrs.Veggie woke him up. "Now Musicnotes that song is something we always heard you hum." Musicnotes looked at her. "So...you don't know the song." Mr.Veggie looked at his wife with a sad look. "We have to tell her everything." "Tell me what." Musicnotes asked. Mrs.Veggie set down some cookies on the table. "About the day we got you." Music was confused she was always knew that she wasn't their child but she figured they knew who her real parents were. "I thought you told me you found me and that was all I know." Mr.Veggie told her all that they knew. They told her about the stormy night and showed her the basket they found her in from the attic. They told her that she was always humming that song and figured her real parents sang it to her as a lullaby. Mrs. Veggie sighed. "That's all we really know. We would have told you everything but we didn't want you to get mad at your real parents since they left you out in a storm."
Musicnotes stared at the ground and then looked up. "Im going to find out what the song is and I'm going to find my parents." Mr. and Mrs.Veggie gave her a hug and said "That's fine with us. We always figured you would go do that. " Musicnotes left her home and went to the library in New Saddle. She went up to a mint green pony with a yellow mane. "Excuse me but do you have any books on lullabies?" The pony smiled and she said. "Yes on that shelf." Musicnotes thanked her and started searching. She searched and soon found a old purple book and when she opened it she saw a page that said something about a magical lullaby. Musicnotes read it and it said it was a lullaby written to put anypony or thing to sleep and that only a certain family who originally wrote it has the ability to do it. It also said if it was sang in a certain way it would mean that the pony hearing it would never wake up. Musicnotes kept reading it and saw something that was written below. She read it softly to herself. "The members of the family who can sing this have to sing the song from beginning to end or else they become really weak." She looked at the bottom of the page and saw the lyrics. She sang them aloud and when she looked up from the page everypony in the library was asleep. She waited a minute and they woke up. She whispered "Okay the lyrics match the melody of whatever I was humming and everypony fell asleep when I sang it but to make sure that this is a clue...." Musicnotes got to keep the book for a few bits and ran to a few of her classmates who also had music as their talent. She got them to sing the song but nothing happened. She was now positive that this was a clue to her true family.
She ran back home and fell asleep. That night she had the strangest dream. There were a few ponies running through a mine full of gems. She felt like she it wasn't a dream but couldn't place the where the mine was. She woke up. She figured that it may be another clue or it could just be a dream. She thought for a minute and figured it was best to take the chance of it being a clue,she figured it was time for her to leave the farm and begin her quest for the truth. She didn't know what would happen or what it would be like but she knew that she was almost old enough to leave, she wasn't the filly she was when she got her cutie mark. She can fly pretty well and even if she couldn't do magic well she believed that she would still be able to discover the truth. She decided to look for pictures of the mine and she would go there.
The start of the journey is a rough one
"Today's the day." Musicnotes said as she got out of bed. It was the day Musicnotes could finally leave the farm and begin her quest for the truth. She had spent months planing this day. She found out the mines were known for where what were described as monsters that hung out but she wasn't afraid. She planned on taking the long way there just in case. She would go north then go through the forsaken forest to get to the mines. It was early dawn when she woke up and she raced down stairs to say her goodbyes. When she entered the kitchen she saw Mr. and Mrs. Veggie, and a few of her friends. "Hey everypony I guess your here to see me off." "Of course we are Musicnotes." said The two neighbors who are going to take care of her bunnies because Mr. and Mrs. Veggie couldn't and she can't bring them since they are too old to come. Musicnotes smiled. "Thanks everypony I'm going to miss you all." Mr. Veggie handed over a light blue saddle bag. When Musicnotes looked inside she saw a matching notebook. "Thank you." she said when she finished looking at it. Mrs. Veggie smiled. "Its so you can write anything you find down." Musicnotes gave each of them a hug. She had a tear in her eye. "I am really going to miss you both, you loved and raised me since you found me, I don't know how I can ever repay you both." They smiled back. Mr. Veggie spoke up. "You grown up so much. I still remember the times when you were found you would fly around or teleport on the roof." Mrs.Veggie brought out a box and put it in her saddle bag. "This is some food that should last you a while.Oh and there should be some bits in the front pocket just in case." Musicnotes smiled. She grabbed the last thing she would think she might need. She grabbed the old purple book she got from the library what seemed like forever ago. "I'm heading to some mines first." Musicnotes flew out as they said their last goodbyes.
After what seemed like a few hours of flying Musicnotes looked up at the sky and saw what appeared to be a storm coming. "Really a storm, why does it always seem like when storms happen in my life things happen." Music figured it would be safer to walk the rest of the way to the mine she believed she had to go to. She landed in the forsaken forest it had millions of tall trees. The trees were so tall that it seemed that it would take forever to fly to the top. Musicnotes had no clue if she was going the right way, she was just following her heart and letting it guide her whatever way. She heard the sound of thunder. She jumped. "Ok let me try and teleport away from this." Musicnotes focused on the spell and her horned glowed but nothing happened. "Darn I never seem to be able to use it when I need it." She looked up and it started pouring. She started to run for shelter. As she was running she heard more thunder and started to saw lightning. The lightning hit several trees around her and they started to fall. "Ok I got to try again." She tried a few more times, almost getting it once but only teleporting her a foot head. She figured she might try to fly and hope she would get high enough to avoid everything. She flapped her wings and started to fly.
The lightning continued to strike the tall trees causing more and more to fall around. "Come on Musicnotes just a little more." She tried to fly faster but the rain and a strong wind that appeared kept causing her mess up on her flying. Then there was another lightning bolt that struck the tree in front of her causing it to fall on her. "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!" Music screamed. The tree crushed her wing as she landed to the ground and hit her head causing her to black out. In another part of the forest about a mile or so from her location a pony heard her scream and decided to go investigate. "A pony in this weather is a very bad thing. I better hurry in this weather I can still hear that thunderstorm ring." It only took the pony a few minutes to find Musicnotes. He was able to move the tree and take her back to his shack.
The shack was on tree with roots coming out of the ground and there were bottles hanging from the branches. There were masks all over. They all looked different and creepy. The shack was close by the graveyard of the forgotten which was in the opposite direction of where Musicnotes needed to go. He put her in a spare room with a bed and wrapped up her head and wing with bandages. He looked at her as she laid in the pony. "I wonder why you have come this far. I would like to know when you wake who ever you are." He left the room letting her rest. By the time Musicnotes woke up she found herself with a bandage on her wing and one on her forehead. "Ow where am I?" she asked. She put her hoof to her head. She had a major head ache. The door on the other side of the room opened up. A older looking stallion came out and when Musicnotes got a closer look she realized he was a zebra except he was mostly light grey with dark black stripes. His mane was like how you would expect a zebras mane to look like, it was black and white. He went up to the bed she was in. "Oh good you are up and awake. I brought some medicine that I know how to make."
Musicnotes looked closely at the zebra stallion, she wasn't really sure if she could trust him. She had never seen a zebra before, there were always a bunch of rumors about them like they were evil and like to cook ponies into stew. She wondered if pony stew would taste good to a zebra since they were so alike. She tried to get that out of her mind as she looked at the cup of medicine he had. She didn't know if this medicine the zebra had with him was really medicine or if it was poison.She had no clue if he was a friend or a foe but if he was a foe then why bring her here and not leave her out in the storm. She thought about it for a minute and came up with the idea that he brought her inside so he could cook her since wet pony might not taste good. The zebra looked back at her with his yellow eyes. "There is no need to be scared my friend. I helped you get out of that storm since it has not yet started to end.." His voice seemed pretty calm and friendly. Musicnotes looked out a window that was right by the bed she was in and saw that the storm was still going on. She was glad to be out of it since the rain was still pouring hard and it could be heard from the inside. She looked at her wing seeing the bandage, it really hurt her and thought back to when one of the trees fell on her. She wondered if she could still fly She tried to list it up but couldn't. . She looked at the zebra. "Thank you sir for helping me. How long have I been here?" she asked. She looked around surprised that he seemed friendly and let her into his home.
The zebra bought the medicine closer to her and motioned for her to drink it. She looked at the medicine seeing that it was the color red like blood and drank it real fast hoping it wasn't poison as she first though. It tasted kind of sweet. The zebra smiled and took the cup that once held the medicine and put it on a night stand. "You were here for a few hours. Don't you know its not wise to be out when it showers?" Musicnotes nodded. "Yeah I know I was trying to get to a mine and the stormed happened." The zebra blinked a few times. "The mine you speak is not close by. Its in the opposite direction of which we lie. We are close by the grave yard of the forgotten and around here the land is kind of rotten.Why I can see you have wings and a horn. I know that you are no unicorn.When the storm started you should have left in a fast pace . With the help of your magic you would have beaten the storm and never be in this place. Musicnotes put her head down, she thought of how her magic didn't help her when she needed it.. "I know but I have trouble magic always have and are you sure I went the wrong way. I thought for sure I was going in the right direction.." The zebra nodded and smiled at her. "It is fine that is no shame. My name is Zecron, what is your name?" Musicnotes looked at him and smiled. "I'm Musicnotes." Zecron nodded and looked at her wing. "With the help of that medicine your wing should be healed in a few days. When it is you can go fly in the suns rays. But for now you must rest. It is my friend Musicnotes only for the best." Musicnotes laid in the bed and fell asleep. Zecron smiled walked over to the entrance of the room and walked out the door.
Music's horn glowed a blue dim as she started to dream. She dreamed more about this weird mine. She saw the sparkly gems and the sounds of hooves as if they were running against the stone floor of the mine. Music started to toss and turn in the bed where she laid, making the blankets she was under moves with her. The dream continued as there was the sound of angry yelling and screaming that couldn't be made out well. The dream continued to go on from there.
gaining a teacher
Musicnotes continued dreaming as her horn still glowed dimly as the dream was almost finished. She started to see the outside of a old mine and found out it was inside a mountain of some kind . Inside was grey and dark but there were more of the sparkling gems of all colors and sizes. She saw shadows but didn't know what they were and continued to hear yelling and screaming as it went on. She woke up. She didn't know what to think of that dream, it seemed like a lot more than just a dream. She noticed that she tossed and turned while she was dreaming causing the blankets to become messy. She got out of bed and took the bandages off her wing and head, feeling alot better but she still didn't feel up to fly quite yet. She could still hear the rain fall as she started walking to the door. She opened it and saw the zebra Zecron in front of a big pot. She looked around seeing masks hang on the walls and jars on the shelves. Zecron saw her and smiled. "Hello Musicnotes how are you. I hope your not feeling blue." Musicnotes smiled. "Im fine Zecron what are you doing." Zecron grabbed a green looking plant and put it in the pot. "I am working on some medicine to help pony folk when needed. When they are hurt I give them something so they could be treated." He put some more plants in the pot and started to stir.
Musicnotes looked at theses medicines with wonder. She wondered what they could do, how long to make, would it be easy to do, and if she could learn."Really there are ponies around here in this forest." Zecron nods. "Yes there are some ponies not meant for the cities or come here to hide. But they are still like you and me on the inside." Musicnotes thought for a minute, when she was walking around the forest she didn't see anypony out there but then again it was a pretty bad storm and she did walk in the wrong direction so it could be assumed the other ponies could just be hiding and waiting for the storm to end. She looked up at Zecron. "Can you teach me how to make these, they may be of some usefulness on my travels." Zecron nodded and grabbed a few books from a shelf. They all looked like they had information on plants and they were pretty thick with more than a three hundred pages maybe. "Read theses they have info on plants that can do well but also do wrong. Study these and you will know which can work to get along. " Musicnotes took the books and started reading like mad. She was a really fast reader so she figured she would be able to read all the books in no time. She remembered that there were times that other ponies would call her an egghead cause of how fast she was able to read. It seemed to have taken her an hour or so till she finished all the books. When she finished the books she had them memorized and was ready for the next step.
Zecron pulled out some plants in all colors, some looked like weeds, others had flowers and some looked like seeds. Zecron put them in front of her with a mortar and pestle. "Mix up these ingredients and use the ones right, that would help a hurt pegasus get back into flight." Musicnotes thought for a moment. She knew he wanted her to make medicine for a pegasus with a injured wing. She thought back to the books and remembered. She grabbed a few of the seeds and crushed them with the mortar and pestle. She combined a few more ingredients until she thought it looked right and poured the liquid of what she got into a jar. It was clear and seemed to shine. She took it to Zecron. He looked at it and smiled. "Good job, you make an wonderful student in my eyes. I hope what I teach you will help by the time we say our goodbyes." He put the jar on the shelf.Musicnotes smiled and nodded. "They will, Im sure of it." The rain continued to pour so they decided to keep learning and teaching. Musicnotes never really thought of anypony as a teacher but Zecron might just be a teacher to her. She pulled out her blue journal/notebook that Mr. and Mrs. Veggie gave her before she left and started writing about what was going on and she might just even send them a letter. Dear Mr. and Mrs. Veggie, how are you guys doing? I am fine, It turns out I went the wrong way but I have been having a really good time. I met a nice zebra named Zecron and he has been a really good teacher for me. I have learned so much and I hope I can learn more. Ill write you more love Musicnotes.
Musicnotes finished writing her letter to send home to Mr. and Mrs. Veggie. She hoped that things were going well on the farm with out her, she knew soon it would be harvest time and she always was able to finish getting everything picked and ready to sell for the market. She then began to write about the mine from her dream would be like and if she would meet anypony or thing. She closed her journal and put it back in her saddle bag. She knew she would have to start packing. The weather was nice enough for her to walk or fly. She had a map that she got from Zecron that showed the mine she might be looking for was still miles away. She looked around seeing if there was anything else she needed. Zecron came up to her bringing a few jars with him. "These should help you on your quest. I know that no matter what you will past any test." Musicnotes smiled and put them in her saddle bag with her magic but they broke while they were in mid air. She frowned then cleaned up the mess. "Im sorry Zecron I didn't mean for that to happen, I hate my magic I can never seem to get it to work for me sometimes." Zecron patted her back. "Its alright my friend, no ones magic will be perfect in the end. I can tell there is magic inside you that is more powerful than you know. When you unleash that magic it will put on quite a show." Musicnotes smiled as she got more jars full of medicine. "If you say so. I'll make sure to send you letters " Zecron nods. She waved goodbye and walked out. As she walked out she realized that she will miss Zecron and him teaching her. She thought back to the past few days and him teaching her and telling her stories from his native land. She wondered when the next time they may meet.
It was sunny as she walked through the forest that she was in. It was sunny and full of life. She could hear birds singing and other animals running around. Its seemed like things were nice here. She looked at the trees noticing scorch marks like there was a fire or some unicorn was using magic.She knew something happened since she had been around tress a lot of her life.. She recognized that the scorch were very old. "I wonder what happened here." Musicnotes said quietly. She started thinking, trying to figure out why they might be like that or what possibly could have happened like maybe there was a forest fire or lightning hit it or something along those lines. She stopped walking getting tired of it and started flying.She kept looking at her map making sure she wouldn't get lost this time. She didn't even know how she got lost in the first place. All she really did was just start walking in one direction then let her heart lead her to the next part. She thought that maybe her heart lead her to Zecron's for a reason. She felt that maybe it was destiny or fate that made her heart want to take her to where he lives.
The sky grew dark as the day started to end. The blue sky started to turn into bright orange as the sun soon set. She flew at a good pace and soon she was in the entrance of the mine she recognized it instantly from her dream. She walked inside and saw just grey stone all around. She began walking deeper into it when she saw gems of all kinds glimmering on the walls. Some were rubies that shined brightly. Others were diamonds that sparkled when the light from her horn hit them. She continued walking to them, taking a glance as she pasted them when she saw a few figures in one of the tunnels. She didn't know what they were so she prepared herself for anything even if her magic was never reliable, she was still a good fighter.She started to walk towards them at a slow and steady pace as her horn glow started to dim as she couldn't keep it lite but it was nothing she wasn't use to. Her magic would never work when she needed it. She continue to walk toward the figures and was ready for anything.
Musicnotes slowly trotted up to the figures, as she got closer she noticed that they looked pretty ugly, they had big paws and weird looking tails. She didn't know what they were, she wasn't sure if she wanted to find out. One of them noticed her. He was tall and wore a brown vest and a black collar. "Look a pony is here." His voice sounded squeaky. He got up to her face to face. "You look for gems." His breath smelled. She shook her head. "No I will not, I don't know how." Musicnotes lied on the second part, she did know a spell but she didn't want to use her magic. "What are you." The monster snickered. "We are diamond dogs." Musicnotes looked at them closely, she could see why they were called diamond dogs, they looked like dogs and they did live in this mine full of gems. She wondered what they did with them, did they eat them like dragons do or do they use them for something. One of the diamond dogs took out a bridle. He put it on Musicnotes. She shook her head to try to get it off. "I will not wear this." The diamond dogs nodded. "If you don't look for gems then we will ride you pony." Music flapped her wings ready to try get the diamond dog off of her. "I will not be ridden on. I am here on a quest." Musicnotes ran and flew into walls making gems like diamonds, rubies, and emeralds fall to the ground. The gems hit the diamond dogs. One of them said, "This pony is trouble."
Then a another diamond dog who looked really different from the others appeared. He had nicer looking clothes and he didn't look that ugly. " Guys let go of the pony." The others seemed to listen to him so they took of the bridle and ran out of the tunnel. Musicnotes watched as they ran. She wondered why they ran like that. Could it be that they were scared of this diamond dog. The diamond dog smiled and walked down another tunnel, he motioned for her to follow. She followed. She followed him to a room full of gems all over. She looked at him. "Who are you." The diamond dog smiled. "The names Doug. You must be Musicnotes or do you go by Music." Musicnotes stood shocked. " I go by both at times. How do you know my name?" He laughed. "I knew your mother and father, they are good pony folk, they brought you here when you were a small filly. You looks so much like them." Musicnotes smiled. "Really? Who are they? What happened? Why did they leave me? I need to know." Doug gave a disappointed look. "I'm sorry, I can only tell you so much, your parents orders."
Musicnotes was pretty disappointed but she understood. Doug knelt down to her level and put his paw on your shoulder. "I'm sorry I can't tell you much but I will tell you all I know." Doug got up and took a large stone from the pile. He put it by another. "Have a seat." Musicnotes smiled and she sat down. She took her saddle bag off and pulled out one of the containers full of food. She ate some of it. It was just a salad made of the fresh vegetables she helped grow back home. She listened closely when Doug spoke.
"It was many years ago. I am alot different from the other diamond dogs as you can see. I met your parents when they came searching for a few gems to make a present for their friend. I was nice so I gave them some. Years after our first meet and us trying to stay in touch they came here or almost here. It was just outside the mountain entrance to here where it meets the forest, they were running here as fast as they could protecting a small woven basket. Who they were being chased by is not my story to tell. They fought hard with who they were chasing and then soon they lead them in here but got lost in the tunnels. I lead your parents here and we talked. They showed me the basket and inside was you. They told me they must hurry so they left me with this in hopes that one day you would come..." Musicnotes nods as she listened. She now knew that her parents wanted to protect her but from who was what she wondered.
Doug went over to a pile of gems and brought out a pendant, It was a stone pendant with a blue stone. He handed it to her. She looked at it. It had her name on it. She smiled and put it in her saddle bag. "Thank you. But wait you said they were fighting, in my dream that lead me here I saw shadows and like running, it wasn't a clear dream but it seemed so real." Doug nods. "Yes I understand what you dreamed did happen." Musicnotes thought of her dream wondering how she dreamed of the past. She looked at Doug. " If you do see them soon tell them I miss them. " She wiped a tear from her eye. Doug nodded. "I will, now its time for you to be on your way." Musicnotes nodded. "Alright." She went on her way to continue her quest for the truth. She did not really where she needed to go now but she didn't really care. She only wanted the truth. She wanted somepony to explain to her what happened from start to finish. She headed out of the mine wondering if she will get any clues. She looked at her pendant after getting it out of her bag. "Well lets hope I find you both soon."
Musicnotes left the mine. She was unsure where to head next, she thought very hard and figured she should head to Cloudsdale to see the young fliers competition for fun. She always wanted to see it since she was a small filly.She flapped her wings and started flying. Musicnotes always loved to fly. She enjoyed the breeze in her mane and seeing everything from above, it was like seeing things from a different angle. Her favorite time of day to fly was not when the shinning, warm yellow sun was out but when the cool night comes. She loved just trying to touch the stars even if she knew she couldn't. She wondered what it would happen in Cloudsdale and who might be in the young fliers competition. It wasn't long till she arrived at Cloudsdale. She looked at Cloudsdale, she admired the fact that this city makes all the clouds and weather for Equestria. It must be a big job for just one place. The weather ponies must work hard everyday on the weather. She headed to the cloudosseum to watch the competition, ready to see everypony preform and do their best.
Music looked around as she flew to her destination. She didn't see much of anything going on. She figured that everypony was watching the competition. When she got there she saw so many pegasuses flying around like mad ponies as if they were scared about something. She could tell something was wrong. She looked around seeing if there was anypony who wasn't freaking out to help her when she got bumped into and landed on the cloud. She was pretty glad that clouds were soft to land on. When she looked upto see who it was that bumped her, it was a stallion with a black and red mane and the thing that surprised her about him was his wings. They looked different from others she seen they were also black and red as if they seemed to be on fire. He looked at her and helped her up. "Oh sorry about that, Im in a hurry." Musicnotes nodded. "I can see that. I'm Musicnotes whats going on?" The stallion looked at her. " Im Blaze and Cloudsdale is going to fall from the sky. I'm heading to the industrial district to find out why." He started flying. Musicnotes followed. "Ok let me help." Blaze nodded and lead the way. As she followed she wondered why Cloudsdale would fall from the sky. It was made of clouds and clouds do sort of float in the sky. She started to wonder what it would be like if Cloudsdale disappeared. If it did then where would the weather be made. As long as she could remember she knew that Cloudsdale made all the weather and she imagined that with out it then there would be no weather. There would be no rain to help grow crops, no sparkling snowflakes that make the winter white, there would be no rainbows either. Musicnotes frowned. She would really hate it if Cloudsdale was gone so she knew she would have to help anyway she could.
As they flew to the industrial district of Cloudsdale they saw the weather factory and headed there as fast as they could. When they entered they put on white coats and helmets. Musicnotes looked around. She saw the rainbow pools she was about to dip her hooves in to taste it thinking that rainbows would be sweet but then Blaze warned her when he said, "You better not try that, rainbows aren't know for your flavor, they are kind of spicy." Musicnotes pulled her hoof away. "Thanks for the warning so this is where the weather gets made." Blaze nods as they walk but hurry as the clouds below their feet seem to disappear. "Yep if there was time I would take you to where the snowflakes are made." Musicnotes smiles. "Yeah I understand so where are we headed. " Blaze picks up his pace. "To where the clouds get made, something must be up there, since the floor beneath our hooves is disappearing." Musicnotes wondered what could be making this happen. She continued to follow Blaze to the cloud making room.
They ended up in the cloud making room. They saw a bunch of pegasi working on the machines. They flew up to one. Musicnotes spoke first. "Whats happening." The worker pegasus seemed nervous about what was happening. "Its the machines they stopped working and all the water that we got from earlier this year to make they clouds spilled out from the machines. If we don't hurry then Cloudsdale will be nodales." Blaze looked at the worker. "Do you know why they stopped working?" The worker shook his head rapidly. "No none of us do." Blaze nods he turns to Musicnotes. "I could stay here and work on the machines, how about you go get others to create a hurricane to suck up some water from a lake." Musicnotes nods and flies as fast as she could to get some other ponies. It took some time to find enough so they all just hoped they had enough wing power to do it. She had heard about pegasuses doing this but she had never done it. She didn't even know what her wing power was, it could be anything from one to ten.
She lead them over to the pond for the water and they started flying. They didn't know if they would hit the wing power mark they needed but they had to try for the fate of Cloudsdale. They all wore goggles and flew as fast as they could. Musicnotes looked as she was flying and noticed the wonder bolts were there. It was pretty cool seeing them. Soon the water from the lake started going up the hurricane. Then they were able to deliver it to the weather factory. They looked and saw the clouds come out just in time because most of Cloudsdale looked gone. Musicnotes flew back to Blaze. "So what was the problem with the machine?" Blaze pointed to a tray full of rusty parts. "Those were in the way back of the macines and nopony thought to replace them." Blaze saw all the other pegaguses flying back to watch the young flyer competition. "So Musicnotes how about we race back to the competition to watch it." Musicnotes flapped her wings. "Sure beat you there." Musicnotes flew fast to her destination. Blaze grinned. "Oh no you wont." He flew off after to beat her. They had their race to the cloudosseum and Blaze won. He looked at her. "So where are you going after watching this?" Musicnotes shrugged looking up at the blue sky. "That is a good question. Hmm...I guess I'll go where ever my heart takes me." They chatted for a while until the competition started so then they watched that and headed their separate ways. Musicnotes sighed. She wondered where she should head next. She took out her pendant and looked at it. "Mom..Dad..where are you both.." As she finished saying that the wind blew hard through her mane and it was so strong she dropped her pendant and it fell into the forest. "Oh no! " She flew down to the forest and looked around. It was dark and creepy. She knew that this was the Everfree forest and now she has to look for her pendant in this place.
Musicnotes looked around the forest wondering where her pendant could be. She walked around as the leaves under her hooves made a soft crushing sound. The bushes shook as animals of who knows what sizes walked past them. Whenever Musicnotes heard a growling sound, she jumped. She continued to walk around when the sky grew dark as night time started to fall. The stars were almost visible. Musicnotes sighed. "I better look for a place to stay for the night." She walked for several minutes finding a small cave. She looked inside seeing nothing there. She sat down and took out some food and a blanket from her bag. She covered up with the blanket and started to eat the food she packed. As she was eating, a small little bunny hopped out from the bushes. It was a strange looking bunny, instead of being the colors brown, white, or black, it was a bubblegum pink color.
Musicnotes smiled as she set down her container of food. "Hello there. Are you hungry?" The bunny nodded as it hopped over to her. Musicnotes put a few of the veggies that were in her container of food by the bunny. The bunny gobbled up the veggies and hopped closer to her wanting to cover up with the blanket she had. Musicnotes smiled and covered up the bunny. "Alright my little friend, you can sleep here with me. " The bunny and her got comfy under the blanket and fell asleep.
The next morning the little bunny woke up first and was looking through Musicnotes' bag. The pink bunny pulled out one of the books that was in there and acted as if it was going to read it. The bunny flipped though the pages and soon stopped. It shut the book and tossed it in a puddle that was close outside the cave. When Musicnotes woke up a few minutes later, she saw what her new pal had done and glared at it. "Why would you do that? " She trotted over to her book and picked it up. She flipped through it seeing some damage to the pages. She sighed and put the book back in her bag. She started to walk away ready to look for her pendant. The bunny was following her, not wanting to leave her side. Musicnotes couldn't help but smile. "Looks like I have a new pet. What should I name you? Hopper? Thumper? Sweetie? Trouble? Bubble?" The bunny nodded its head at the name Bubble. Musicnotes nodded. "Bubble it is." Bubble hopped onto Musicnotes back and they went back to searching.
As they went through the Everfree forest, there was the continued sound of animals moving around through bushes and trees. Musicnotes thought that maybe she could fly and search from the skies but decided against it since it might be hard to see her small pendant in a big space of forest. Bubble hopped off her back after awhile and went ahead searching. Musicnotes smiled. "Don't go to far ahead."
Bubble nods hopping off. She tried to quickly follow her little pink bunny so that she knew that she wouldn't get hurt. Bubble soon came running back to her when Musicnotes heard a sudden roar. After a second a giant Timberwolf jumped up in front of them and growled. She screamed. Its breath smelled terrible, it was a stench that she had never smelt before. Bubble shook as the Timberwolf started to come closer. Musicnotes was about to sing her song when an arrow struck it. Both Musicnotes and Bubble looked around in the direction where the arrow might have came from. A few more arrows hit the Timberwolf and it went to pieces. Suddenly somepony said. "Follow me."
Musicnotes turn to the direction of the pony. She only saw the green cloak that the pony wore and followed him. The cloaked pony turned, and started walking off. "First things first, what were you doing out here, alone in the Everfree? It's dangerous, first of all...."
Musicnotes looks at him to answer him as her bunny Bubble hops on her back. "Thanks for helping me. Im looking for a pendant."
"A pendant, huh?" he glances around. "Can't say I've seen anything around.... But, I'll help you find it. You'll need some help."
Musicnotes smiles. "Thank you. I would really like the help. Its something special I only received recently. I'm Musicnotes by the way but I'm also called Music as well."
The green pony nodded his assent. "Welp, I'm Oakleaf. Call me Oak." After wandering a bit more, he bent down, and started to search the ground. "Do you know -any- tracking skills?"
"Tracking stills? none what so ever." Music responded to him as she followed. Bubble just listened to them still sitting on Musicnotes' back.
"Welp, come over here, I'll teach ya a tad," Oak said, gesturing her over. "Do you see anything wrong with this picture?" he asked, and gestured to a small patch of ground - with a little spot, the size of a rock, missing from the ground.
She walks over and looks at it noticing the spot on the ground. "Yeah it looks like something is missing."
He nods. "Good. What is missing?"
"Maybe a rock or something." She replies.
He nods again. "Now we're getting somewhere! What could've moved the rock?"
Music shrugs at first then thinking about it for a minute. "Maybe an animal or somepony who walked by."
"Mhmm. Now we look at the dirt itself. If it's soft and crumbly, the small rock was knocked out recently. If it's all hard and compressed, this is an old track." Oak proceeded to look it over, and nodded one final time. "It's fairly new. We're on the right track."
Musicnotes nods. "Okay so what know."
"Well, what'dya think? We find out where this trail!" He replied to her.
"Alright lets go then." Musicnotes said in response.
Oak seems to get a good lead, and starts trotting ahead. Soon, he stops. "Is -this- your amulet?" he asked, holding up a small trinket.
Musicnotes takes a look at it, seeing that it had a blue stone on it. She was pretty sure it might be it since what are the odds of there being another pendant in the forest but just to make sure she turns it over and smiled seeing her name on the back. "Yes this is my pendant thank you." She takes it and puts it in her saddle bag.
He nodded. "You're welcome." He took another glance around. "So... uhmm...."
Musicnotes smiled. "Well I don't know. I guess I'm going to get out of here and get back on my quest."
Oak took a small grin under his hood, too. "Well, it was nice meeting 'ya, Music."
She nods. "Same, maybe our paths will one day cross again someday."
"Indeed," Oak said, turning, and started to walked off.
Musicnotes opened her bag letting her bunny Bubble hop in and she flapped her wings and flew away.
After Musicnotes flew out of the Everfree forest, she decided to stop at near by town known as Ponyville. Once she landed she started to walk around and take in the scenery. She looked and saw several ponies working or the little colts and fillies playing. Bubble popped her little pink head out of Musicnotes's bag. Her stomach growled. Musicnotes smiled. "You hungry Bubble?"
Bubble nodded and pulled out the little bag that had all of their bits. She flipped it upside down showing them they had nothing.
Musicnotes thought she had some bits in it. Was it possible she wasted all of them already. "I thought I had some in there." She said as she was walking. After a second of looking at Bubble, Musicnotes bumped into another pony. She turned and saw a pale yellow pegasus mare with a light pink mane. Her cutie mark was three butterflies. "Oh..I'm sorry, I didn't mean to bump into you."
The pegasus moved her hoof back and forth on the ground not saying anything. Musicnotes was about to say something else when she saw a white bunny stood by the pegasus.
"You have a bunny too?" Musicnotes said as Bubble jumped out of her bag and looked at the white bunny.
The pegasus smiled and spoke softly. "Yes, this is Angel and I am Fluttershy." She looked at Bubble. "I never seen a pink bunny before."
Musicnotes smiled back. "Its nice to meet you Fluttershy and Angel. I'm Musicnotes and this is Bubble."
Fluttershy nodded looking at Bubble. "May I call you Music?"
She nodded. "Yes you may."
Fluttershy smiled and watched the two bunnies talking. She looked at Musicnotes. "So Music, you new here in Ponyville?"
Musicnotes nodded. "Yes. I was just in the Everfree Forest looking for a pendant I lost and I thought I might look around here."
Fluttershy looked at the ground, still speaking in her soft voice. "The Everfree Forest, that place is dangerous. There is so many dangerous beasts like timberwolves and parasprites."
She nodded remembering the timberwolf that attacked her and Bubble in the Everfree. "Yes I know but I did find one good thing there besides my pendant." She pointed her hoof at Bubble as her and Angel were talking in their animal language.
Fluttershy smiled at Bubble. "Hmm..it seems like Bubble is telling Angel what she did with all your bits while you were looking for your pendant."
Musicnotes raised her eyebrow at her troublesome bunny. "Oh really now? What did she do then."
"She left a trail of them in the forest so you would know where to go." Fluttershy explained. "I guess it seems that you were so focused on finding your pendant that you didn't notice what she was doing."
Musicnotes chuckled in response. "I guess your right. How did you know?"
The pegasus petted her bunny Angel. "My talent is speaking to animals."
She nodded. "Thats a good talent, must come in handy a lot."
Fluttershy nodded. "Yes it does."
Musicnotes stomach rumbled. She hadn't eaten for a while. She giggled. "I guess I'm kind of hungry."
Fluttershy giggled as well. "Would you like to come with me to Sugarcube Corner?"
Her stomach rumbled again and she nodded. "That sounds great but I don't have any bits to buy anything as you apparently learned from my bunny."
Fluttershy smiled at her. "It's alright. I'll take care of it." Her and Angel started to walk toward Sugarcube corner.
Musicnotes couldn't stop from making a small smile at the thought of somepony just offering to buy her something even if they just met. She knew that as soon as she got some bits she would have to replay her new pegasus friend. "Thank you for you kind offer." She looked at Bubble and they both followed her and Angel.
They soon get to a tanish building with a pink door, brown roof that looked like it had sprinkles and white frosting on it and what looked like two cupcakes with pink frosting stacked on top. She could see windows on one of the cupcakes so she guessed there was a room up there. Musicnotes and Bubble followed Fluttershy and Angel inside.
They walked up to the counter where a light blue earth pony with a pink colored mane was standing behind. "Morning Fluttershy, Angel. Who are your friends?"
Fluttershy pointed to Musicnotes. "Mrs. Cakes, this is Music and her bunny Bubble."
Mrs. Cakes smiled. "Its nice to meet you."
"Its nice to meet you as well." Musicnotes replied after the introduction.
"So what can I get for you girls? " Mrs.Cakes asked them.
Musicnotes looked at Fluttershy and decided to let her do the ordering. "You can order for us Fluttershy."
She nodded. "Alright. May we please have two cupcakes and two carrots." She set the bits on the counter and Mrs.Cakes took them.
Mrs. Cakes nodded. "I'll bring them right out girls take a seat at a table."
Musicnotes nodded and her and Fluttershy sat down each of them with their own bunnies by them. After a few minutes Mrs. Cakes came back and brought out their food. The bunnies nibbled on their crunchy carrots. Musicnotes smiled and started to eat her cupcake.
Fluttershy ate her cupcake and looked at Musicnotes. "So where are you from Music?"
Musicnotes swallowed her bite of cupcake. "Im from New Saddle. Its a small town a lot like Ponyville."
She nodded as Musicnotes spoke. "It is nice."
After a second a bubbly pink earth pony with a poofy dark pink mane came jumping in. She saw Musicnotes and Bubble and smiled widely and spoke fast. "Oh my gosh its a new pony. Hi I'm Pinkie Pie. Who are you? When did you get here? Thats a nice pet bunny. I have a toothless alligator his name is Gummy."
Musicnotes chuckled. "I'm Musicnotes but some call me Music, this is my bunny Bubble. I just got here today."
Pinkie pie smiled. "We should totally have a PARTY! It can be welcome to Ponyville party and we can have streamers, cake, balloons, games, punch and I can bring out my party cannon."
Bubble started to bounce around after she finished her carrot and liking Pinkie's plan for a party. Musicnotes giggled. "Looks like Bubble likes it but you don't have to plan a party. I don't even know if I'm staying here yet so I wouldn't want to cause you any trouble."
Fluttershy looked at her. "Its no trouble for Pinkie at all."
Pinkie pie nodded. "Yeah its no trouble. I'm going to get started to plan it right now." She walked out the door and quickly went off to plan the party.
Musicnotes chuckled as she watched Pinkie pie leave. She wondered if that pony would really throw her a welcome party.
Fluttershy smiled. "So Music where are you heading to next?"
Musicnotes shrugged. "I'm not really sure at this moment. I guess anywhere."
Fluttershy pet Angel and looked at Musicnotes. "There are a bunch of places where you can go around Ponyville. " She looked up at the clock. "Oh I better get back to my cottage if you don't mind but I have some animals to feed."
Musicnotes nodded as she got up. "I understand. Thank you again for buying me that sweet treat. I will try to repay you one day soon I hope."
The pegasus nodded. "Oh course." She walked out of Sugarcube Corner with Angel by her.
Musicnotes smiled. She looked at her bunny Bubble. She had finished her carrot and was ready to go off with her owner. They both walked out and walked around the streets of Ponyville. As she walked around she could tell that a few ponies were staring at her cause of her horn and wings but she didn't mind. She was pretty much use to it. While she was walking there was a rainbow colored blur as somepony zoomed past her. She spun around feeling dizzy for a moment. When her dizzness subsided she saw a cyan blue colored pegasus with a rainbow mane standing in front of her.
The pegasus smiled. "Sorry about that, hope I didn't get you too dizzy."
Musicnotes giggled. "Its alright. I'm Musicnotes. Who may you be?"
"I'm Rainbow dash. Best flyer in all Equestria and future wonderbolt. " She replied to Musicnotes.
She chuckled and smiled at Rainbow dash. "Wow you must be a really great flyer. I'm pretty good at flying myself. " Musicnotes flapped her wings.
"Maybe we should have a race sometime. Where are you headed?" Rainbow dash asked her.
Musicnotes shrugged. "Not really sure at the moment. Do you have any suggests?"
"If you are a egghead, you could go to the library and pick up a book or if your into fashion, there is the Carousel Boutique." The pegasus replied to her.
Musicnotes thought for a minute. She thought about the book she had with her, maybe at the library there is another copy of it. Musicnotes would love to compare it, to see if it was different. "I wouldn't call myself an egghead but I would like to go to the library. Would you mind showing me the way?"
Rainbow dash nodded and flapped her wings. "Sure follow me." She flew off in the direction of the library.
Musicnotes looked down at her pink bunny. "Come on Bubble lets get going."
Bubble nods and soon her and Musicnotes were on their way to the library.
It only took a few minutes until they were at the library. The library was inside a tree and had several window. There was also a telescope at the top of it on a red porch or red balcony. Musicnotes wasn't really sure if it was one or the other but the library still looked nice. Musicnotes smiled at Rainbow dash. "Thank you for bringing me to the library. "
Rainbow dash smiled. "It was nothing. Oh if you are going to be around here for awhile try to find me. I would love to race you."
She nodded. "I guess we will see. I'm not really sure if I will be staying long but I'll try."
Rainbow dash flew off as Musicnotes went to knock on the door. It only took a minute until a purple and green dragon answered the door. Bubble jumped seeing the dragon and hid behind her owner.
Musicnotes pet her bunny to calm her down, she didn't want her to be afraid. She looked at the dragon. "Hello. I heard that this is the library. I was wondering if I could look around. "
The dragon nodded. "Sure come on in. I'm Spike the dragon, Twilight! We got a pony here looking for a book.."
Musicnotes nodded. "Hello Spike. I'm Musicnotes and this is Bubble. " She points her hoof to her pink bunny as they went inside the library.
Inside there was a purple unicorn with a blue mane with a pink and purple stripe looking at a check list. She looked at Musicnotes. "Oh hello there. I'm Twilight. What can I do for you?"
Musicnotes smiled at Twilight. "Hello. I'm Musicnotes. I was wondering if you had a copy of this book." She pulls out her purple book. She tried to use her magic to levitate it over to her but she dropped it on the floor. Spike picked it up and handed it to Twilight.
"Hmm.."Twilight said as she looked at the book. "The book of melodies...I haven't even heard of this book before but I'll check my shelves. Feel free to look around."
Musicnotes nodded and looked on the book shelves. Bubble was getting more comfortable with Spike the dragon. They were playing.
As Twilight was looking at the book shelves, she turned and looked at Musicnotes. "May I ask you a few questions Musicnotes?"
The alicorn nodded. "Go right ahead, I don't mind but before you ask, I am an alicorn and these are real." She flaps her wings.
Twilight nodded. "I was going to ask about that. I guess you get that alot. I'm Princess Celestia's student and I know her magic is pretty powerful. Is yours just as powerful?"
Musicnotes sighed and shook her head. "I do get that alot but I'm sorry to disappoint but my magic isn't always reliable. There are good days for me where I could do a spell and others when I can't. I don't mind it. I have been this way since I was a foul. "
Twilight frowned. "Oh..well I'm glad that you at least do some magic at times. I don't seem to have that book. Why do you want of copy of it in the first place?"
She smiled at Twilight. "I wanted to see if it had all the same information. " There was a knock at the door. Spike went to go get it.
He opened the door and when he did, his eyes had little hearts in them. "Oh hello Rarity..."
A white unicorn with a purple curly mane came in. "Oh Twilight its the worst possible thing." She noticed Musicnotes. " I see you have a somepony over."
Musicnotes looked at the white unicorn with a purple curly mane that just came into the library. "What did you need? You said something was the worst possible thing." She waited for an answer.
The unicorn smiled. "I needed Twilight's help with an order for some clothing I was working on. It was suppose to be these cute dresses all going with the four seasons but I seemed to have run out of ideas, I was hoping she would have a book to help me. I'm Rarity by the way darling. Who are you?"
Twilight smiled as she went searching for a book for Rarity. "This is Musicnotes she is visiting for a while."
Rarity nods. "Its a please to meet you. By chance are you a princess?"
Musicnotes looked at her wings hearing Rarity ask if she was a princess. It was a comment she was use to hearing. She shook her head. "Nope I'm not. I just always had these."
Rarity smiles. "Well I do say that is fine. "
Twilight gives her the book and Rarity takes it. "Thank you Twilight. If you are ever interested in a outfit I'm sure I can make you something Musicnotes."
Musicnotes smiled. "Thank you. If you would like just call me Music."
Before anypony could say anything else Spike came up to them with Bubble by his side. Musicnotes almost forgot that they were playing, she smiled at them as Spike spoke. "Hey Twilight. Pinkie pie is here. She said something about a welcome party and she needed a place to have it. She already has most of Ponyville outside."
Twilight chuckles. "Well let them in Spike. We have to welcome somepony to Ponyville with one of Pinkie's parties." She looked at Musicnotes and smiled.
Spike went to get the door and soon Pinkie pulled out her party cannon and shot confetti and balloons everywhere. She quickly set up a table full of treats like cake and cookies in what seemed like record time. By her side was an orange mare with a blonde mane and a cowboy hat on her head. She was putting some apple cider on the table next to the snacks and a bowl of punch that Pinkie had just set out. After done that she walked over to Musicnotes and smiled. "Well howdy partner. My friend Pinkie pie told me you and your bunny had just came into town. I hope y'all stay for a while."
Musicnotes smiled as her little pink bunny started to hop around as new ponies entered the library to join the party. "Yeah. I'm Musicnotes but feel free to call me Music for short. The bunny over there is Bubble."
The mare nodded and shook her hoof. "Its nice to meet you Music. I'm Applejack."
The two of them talked for some time as they both at one point of time lived on a farm for they shared some common ground. Then Musicnotes started to chat with the other ponies as they came in to party. It was a really fun time. There was music and dancing and everypony had a smile on their face. They even started to play pin the tail on the pony. Musicnotes was never good at the game since she hated getting dizzy. Rainbow dash won a few of the rounds along with some other ponies. For the next few hours there was lot of laughter and giggles in the library. It was sort of the opposite of how you would think a library should be since it wasn't quiet and nopony was reading. The ponies soon left as the drinks and food almost ran dry, ponies became tired, and as Bubble was pretty close to starting a food fight. If that had happened who knows how messy the library would have gotten. Soon almost everyone was gone leaving only Musicnotes, Bubble, Spike, Twilight, Rainbow dash, Rarity, Pinkie pie, and Fluttershy.
Spike yawned. "I'm heading to bed." He walked over to his bed
Bubble returned the yawn as Musicnotes picked her up. "Looks like this little bunny is worn out. Thanks again for the party Pinkie. You didn't have to throw me it."
Pinkie smiled. "Of course I did. Everypony deserves a party."
Applejack nodded. "Don't try to fight her on it. You won't win."
Rainbow dash yawned. "Yeah she always throws a party. I'm going to call it a night. Where are you staying Musicnotes? It is late."
She shrugged. "I'm not sure Rainbow dash."
Rarity moved her mane out of her face with her hoof. "Well we can't have that now can we dear. I say that you stay with one of us tonight."
Fluttershy nods. "Yeah I agree."
Pinkie pie jumped up in the air. "Yeah you can come back with me to Sugarcube Corner. We can have a slumber party and stay up all night doing things like truth or dare, popcorn, boardgames and a whole bunch of stuff. "
Rainbow dash shook her head. "I think she would rather sleep than party again Pinkie. "
Twilight nods. "You can stay with me and Spike, Musicnotes. "
"Are you sure? I wouldn't want to be a bother." Musicnotes said in response.
Twilight smiled. "It's no trouble at all. I have a guest bed."
"Well we will leave so you can rest. See you in the morning " Applejack said and then the other ponies left.
Twilight showed Musicnotes where the guest bed was and then she went to her own bed. Musicnotes set Bubble down and pulled out her journal. She talked quietly to herself as she wrote. "Dear Journal, My adventure to Ponyville has been full of surprises. It reminds me a lot of home. The ponies here are so kind and fun. Tomorrow is another day and even if I have no clues at the moment I know I'll find some. I just got to hope for it. From Musicnotes." She finished her writing and put her journal away. She reminded herself that she should take some time in the morning to write a letter or two to let Zecron and her family now whats going on, knowing them they may just give her some advise or a least some words to encourage her. She curled up by her pink bunny and soon fell asleep letting her dreams take flight in her head.
