The First Bomb * Prologue

Author Note; The Beginning is owned by Hasbro, from the coronation of Twilight Sparkle in Magical Mystery Cure. It has been altered to fit the setting of the story.

"We are gathered here today in celebration of a momentous occasion. My most faithful student, Twilight Sparkle, has done many extraordinary things since she's lived in Canterlot. She even helped save my sister, Princess Luna, from the grasp of the Griffins. But today, Twilight Sparkle did something extraordinary. She created new magic, proving without a doubt that she is ready to be crowned Equestria's newest princess. Fillies and gentlecolts, may I present for the very first time, Princess Twilight Sparkle!" The ruler of the day smiled. Princess Celestia stood next to her sister, Luna, and on the opposite side of her was  her neice she adopted; Princess Cadance.

A new throne sat next to Celestia's, on the opposite side of Luna's. The magic symbol of her cutie mark was stationed at the top, made of pony crystals and diamonds.

The newly crowned Princess Twilight Sparkle began to walk down the aisle of the room to complete her coronation, but not before an earthquake threw her to the side. Princess Celestia's eyes widened.

"It has begun. But why now?" She murmured, as she raced to help her student up. Princess Luna, Prince Shining Armor, and his wife, Princess Cadance, raced to help the ponies in the crowd up. The sound of a building crumbling was followed by several other tremors, as screams of pain and agony were heard from outside. Missiles dropped into the sky like rainfall. As soon as the purple princess was up, she raced towards the balcony, and a blinding flash of light coated her eyes, and she set a darkness shield around her, so she could see. Once the light faded, she stepped forward. Where all the ponies stood, gleeful for the new princess, was a huge crater.

"War has begun." Luna pulled Twilight in for a hug. While Celestia was Twilight's teacher, Princess Luna had gotten close to the purple pony after she had saved Luna's life. Luna was like a second mother figure, while also a best friend, and a sister. "This was expected."

Twilight Sparkle opened her mouth to reply, but her reply was never to be finished, as a young stallion with eyes looking in different directions ran in. Wearing an official uniform, he was followed by three other ponies, one female, two male, and they ushered the others out.

"The shelter is ready." His voice echoed among the silence. Cadance was brought into a close embrace by the second newest alicorn, Prince Shining Armor. The Royal family was complete. Two non-alicorns stood behind Twilight. Her parents were allowed to stay.

"Very well. Let us go." Celestia looked forward, and Twilight adjusted her crown with her magic, before hurrying after the group of sevent ponies.

Celestia had sent them all somewhere different, and she had even received a fresh scroll kit so they could keep in touch. Celestia had made sure that they knew that magic could be stopped in the air, and while she wasn't exactly sure if the griffins had the power to stop a spell and receive or intercept the scrolls. Princess Cadance had suggested a code, and that's what they did.

Of course, the youngest was sent to the smallest town: Ponyville. The alicorn had enchanted a spell upon herself to make her look different, like a stranger.

Twilight had been out under a fake identity. Twilight Twinkle. Simple enough. A white mare with a reddish pink hairstyle like the original Twilight. The spells were powerful, even altering her cutie mark. Her cutie mark was a simple moon and a star. A simple letter popped out.

Dear Twilight Twinkle,

As my newest student, I have sent you for a study in Ponyville. I have arranged for you to stay at the brand new library, so you can study. First, I'd like you to make a friend or two, a "study buddy" as ponies these days call it. I have also set up a quill cart of you, where you can sell ink and scrolls, and you can use magic to ship letters. I also have great news that we are starting a draft for loyal Equestrians to join. Unfortunately, Twilight, you do not meet the requirements, and therefore cannot fight with the Princesses. Be glad you can stay in Ponyville all the while, and not risk getting injured.

Assignments will be sent, weekly. I hope to hear back.
