Accidentally Traveling to Equestria
"Yes! It's finally complete!" Jon said when he finally completed his newest invention. Of all of his silly creations, this is the craziest one by far.
"Creating a time-traveling machine was my dream," He said, taking a deep breath. "And making this thing to fit into this car, an old Ford Mustang, it's even better!"
"Hey! What are you rambling about? Another crazy invention of yours?" A voice, coming from the kitchen, said.
"It's not an “another crazy invention”, Dan, it's something that actually works," Jon replied.
When Jon did show that car to Dan, his brother, both agreed to test and see if it is worth something. If that machine didn't work, they'll go nuts while Jon enters "Whining Mode" and moans about how he wasted time over a stupid car.
Jon and Dan’s childhood was completely normal, even though they didn’t get to know their mother better, since she died from a train accident when Dan was 2 years old. Because of that, their father did his best to make sure that the children would have a good life.
The brothers share the same interest in a lot of things, especially movies, cartoon shows, and video games. They shared an account on the once glorious YouTube, and they made lots of videos reviewing lots of cartoon shows, as well as some movies, and also tons and tons of gameplay videos, mainly made by Dan. They were really successful, having over 25.000 subscribers and millions of total views. Their success was caused by two particular videos.
The first one, called “Jon attempts to play Team Fortress 2”, gathered 1.5 million views, at least 300 subscribers, and lots of people wanting more. However his YouTube account didn’t show any activity for 7 months. But the second one, called “Two brothers Review: My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic”, uploaded on January 2014, had a giant impact on their channel, getting one million views in 10 days, getting featured in almost every brony website possible, due to Dan literally just being random while Jon attempts to watch and review the show.
“While My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic has great animation, it’s just not my slice of pie. However, if you really want to watch this show, go for it, it’s good” Jon said at the end of that video.
Dan was one of those bronies that had pony plushies all over his room, but Jon never got hooked on the show, even though he watched pretty much every episode until the Season 9 Finale, when the My Little Pony series ended for good. However, both agreed that it was the most random Finale they have seen for a long time.
Now, in 2023, Jon created tons of things, like a Jetpack. It allows you to fly fast but also carry a fair amount of things inside. Then there’s the Age Phone, that looks like a normal phone but it tells you the age of a certain person just by spotting the said person with that phone, but also uses photos. Jon claims that this invention never fails.
While he had a lot of creations that didn’t work at all, Jon didn’t give up. Instead he decided to create a car with the ability to travel through time. It took 3-4 years to complete, and now he’s going to test to see if it works.
“Dan, please record this, everyone needs to know about my newest creation!” Jon said, excited.
“But Jon, this is bizarre, if people know they can travel through time, if that’s even possible, you are going to see the true definition of CHAOS with your own eyes!” said Dan, afraid of the possible consequences.
“Just take the fucking camera already, damn it!!”
Dan sighed.
As they went into a highway, they stopped the car outside the road and Dan started to record.
“Ladies and Gentlemen, it’s me, Jon. Today I’m going to show my newest creation, a car that travels through time!” He said, while showing the car.
After five minutes of explaining every single detail of the car and how it was made, Jon said, before entering the car: “If I am correct, when this bastard hits 122 miles per hour, you are going to see weird stuff happening!”
Jon put another camera inside the car to prove that traveling through time is true. He closes the door and starts to drive through the highway, while Dan was recording everything.
When the car hit 122 MPH, the car was covered by a white sphere and disappeared, leaving just a trail of smoke. Dan was shocked and quickly ran into the location. “And that, kids, is how to disintegrate,” Dan said, laughing a little.
He looked around and didn’t see any cars on the location. It was 2AM, so it was expected. Then he checked if there’s anything left from Jon's car. Nothing, even the smoke that was previously visible wasn’t there.
“Holy Jesus!” Dan shouted these two words in terror.
Four minutes later, the car suddenly reappears and it takes a little time to stop, frightening Dan in the process. Jon got out of there, very excited that it actually worked. “YES!!! YES!!!”
“Holy shit dude, you scared the hell out of me!” shouted Dan, still frightened.
Jon did not understand a word since he was filled with happiness, while saying “IT WORKS!!! IT WORKS!!!”
“Yeah, I know it works, I know that you’re happy, but we really need to get out of here, it’s fucking 2AM and I’m literally falling asleep.” Dan almost fell into the ground after saying these words.
“If that is the case,” Jon replied, “I’ll leave you on our home while I go to do some stuff.”
Minutes later, they went back to their home, about five miles from the highway. Dan was already asleep so his brother had to carry him up all the way into the bedroom. Then he decided to drink some water, go to the bathroom, check the news and finally, Jon went back into the car.
I have a feeling that something very fishy is going to happen soon. This has just come into Jon’s mind when he entered the car once again. He was set to travel to November 16, 2012. That’s because he decided to type random numbers and see what happens. Then he set the time to 12:00PM, because he was hungry and wouldn’t even bother to make some food.
He goes to the very same highway he was earlier and starts to accelerate his car. “We’re getting back into the past, baby!”
Just like the last time, he was accelerating to 122 MPH. At one hundred, though, he noticed something different. There was a blue aura around the car, but that wasn’t a big issue since the car was running just fine.
As he goes closer to 122, the blue aura was getting more denser, but Jon still did not care about it. “Heh, I must be hallucinating. Maybe it’s the machine,” He said.
When he hit 122 MPH, he traveled through time again. But instead of the big white covering everything around the machine in one second, it was dark blue. And it covered the driver’s vision for three seconds. The next thing he saw his car was running straight into Ponyville at over 120 MPH.
“I hope that these brakes work,” Jon told to himself before ramming on the brakes.
The next thing he saw was a big tree house, and Jon’s car was about to crash on it. “OH SHIT!” He screamed as he instinctively turned left, causing the car to spin for five times before it finally stopped. Luckily he didn’t crash and hurt anyone around.
“Bloody hell, that was very close,” Jon muttered to himself before actually noticing his surroundings. There was no highway near the town. Instead they looked like it was from a cartoon show.
“What just happened?” These are the only words that Jon was able to say. He couldn’t believe that a creation from him would bring him into that strange place. That is when he saw colored cartoon ponies around his car. At the same time, more ponies came out of that big tree house. Six to be exact.
“Ah crap. What am I supposed to do?”
