Chapter One: The Shadow

Spike was sitting in the tree leaves as always, he looked in the sky and saw Rainbow Dash cloud busting and Applejack apple bucking, he wanted to see Rarity but heard Twilight call for his name. "SPIKE!" She shouted quite loudly, actually. "Coming Twilight!" Spike shouted back.

As Spike walked through the door he saw Twilight with an enraged look. "you didn't sort about HALF the bookshelves! This is a disaster! All of them are out of order!" The angry alicorn yelled to the small dragon. "Bu- wha-? I did though Twilight! Somepony framed me!" Spike cried out. "No you're just being a lazy dragon!" Twilight again yelled. "but-" "NO BUTS this is not acceptable A WHOLE SHELF!?" Twilight kept yelling at the dragon. "You know what Twilight? I QUIT! I'm DONE i don't want to serve you anymore! I'm running away and you'll never find me!"

TWILIGHT:

A day later Spike wasn't seen the whole day, Twilight thought he was joking but he hasn't came home yet... She began to worry her hooves off she ran to Rarity's hoping he'd be there, but no luck Rarity have you seen Spike? He and I had a fight last night and... He might of ran away..." Twilight told Rarity. "My little spiky wiky!? Oh NO! This is THE. WORST. POSSIBLE. THING!" Rarity screamed out. "I know we need to find him! You go get Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie, I'll get Rainbow dash and Applejack." Twilight told Rarity. "Okay I will be on my way!" Rarity said to Twilight and ran off towards Pinkie's and Fluttershy's houses, while twilight flew up towards Rainbow Dash and told her what happened. "Say what?!" Rainbow questioned. "I know its unbelievable but its true..." Twilight said, in a sad look. "Don't worry Twilight! I could probably find him in ten seconds flat."

SPIKE:

"Ahhh this is the life eating onyx and living in a tree *yawn* i think I'm gonna take a nap..." Spike says to himslef and goes to sleep. "HHHOOOOOWWWLLLLL." Spike arose with the howl of a Timber Wolf waking him. "ugh... stupid Timber Wolves jeez... can't they let a guy sleep?" He said to himself. Spike suddenly burps a scroll from the princess. "Ugh i need to send- oooo heheh Spike you're a genius..." He quickly took a berry from some sort of bush and took a feather from the ground and poked the berry with the quill. "Dear princess Celestia I, Spike, have resigned from being Twilight's servant, Spike." He sends the scroll and then hears a noise from the trees. "H-hello? Wh-who's there?"

(OC time) VOID:

Void was jumping tree to tree looking for some food. "I wonder where the solu berry bush is?" Void said to himself, trying to find the bush. "Jeez these things are so rare and they only grow when winter wrap up is happening- OH here it is!" Void jumps out of the tree and picks the berries. "Zecora will be pleased." Then he saw a small dragon and leaped on the same branch he was on. "Hello, my name is Void who are you? Wait I've seen you in Ponyville with that beautiful alicorn err... Twilight Sparkle?" Void asked the dragon. "My name's Spike yeah i WAS in Ponyville but then a fight started and i got tired of Twilight-" Spike then cut off and said. "you have a crush on her don't you?" Spike asked the black stallion. "Uhhh SHADOW MELD!" the unicorn quickly turns into shadows. "WOAH! can you teach me that?" Spike asked the unicorn. "Uh sure i guess hey are you okay with living with about 23 Timber Wolves?" Void asked Spike. "YOU live with TIMBER WOLVES?" Spike asked Void. "Yeah i was raised by them." Void told the dragon. "Uhh okay sure if it gets me that REALLY cool thing you did." Spike answered. "Alright lets go!"

They go to Void's home, a cave with a wooden floor and vines growing like crazy. "Alright here we are!". Void said to the small purple dragon. "Wow this is awesome but where are all the Timber Wolves?" Spike asked Void who was making a special tea made from zap apple cider and green tea. "Here's some tea its called 'a'ris tea' its a special recipe i made with just some normal tea and some zap apple cider, hope you like it and the Timber Wolves? There all out at a vigil ceremony... one of the elder wolves had lived his life..." Void looked down in a shadowy look and drank his tea. "you mean?" Spike asked and Void nodded. "Not only was it an elder wolf... it was the pack leader... I now am leader but I don't know much I'm not ready yet..." Void then looked up and said. "You know what! i can face this." Spike hen said. "Great! man this tea is good... Hey do you know anypony named 'Zecora'?" Spike asked Void as he drank his tea and then spotted many rare gems. "Oo can I have some gems?" Spike asked. "Sure you can have as many as you want leave 10 onyx though and yes I do know her she is actually the one who helped me get my cutie mark." Suddenly they heard howling... But not Void's pack... A rival pack.

Chapter Three: The Doctor

TWILIGHT:

"Okay girls we need to find Spike before a timber wolf eats him!" I was worried, of course, I wanted to see Spike as soon as possible. "Don't worry sugar cube, we'll find em' soon enough." Applejack told me. "I hope you're right Applejack." we ventured into the Everfree forest and then became creep'd out but then pinkie said. "HehehHAHAHAHA! oh man look! It's a tree with a face! *Pfft* HAHHAHAHAHAA!"

SPIKE:

"So... Void what's it like living with timber wolves? Is it fun? Or is it dangerous?" I asked the pony, happy and exited at the same time. "Well, its both fun to turn to shadow and blast things to the Gates of Tartarous! So yeah pretty fun!" He said to me in a calm voice. "Cool I always wondered what it'd be like to fly..." I said and quickly bolted up into the air. "Oh man this is fun!" It's been a week since I left PonyVille and it's been fun all i can say is I'm happy.

VOID:

"Glad you like it! you can pretty much shape shift now I can turn into a Pegasus but i can't walk on clouds." I said to the small dragon, I wanted to show him and tell him something not even my pack likes but I might as well. "Spike, I need to show you something... Something that is a disgrace to my life..." I told Spike. "Okay Void... What is it?" He asked me. "Well... My full name is Void Eternal Abyss... Abyss meaning I... I can cast something no even Princess Celestia can cast... It's called the Flaming Vengeance... This is what it does..." I quickly cast the spell and a spherical and glowing object then develops close to my horn... And draws energy from the forest.... I can't really cast it yet I can only cast the beam but not the fully powered beam... That takes magic more powerful than the elements of harmony... A magic I can't obtain... "The beam is so small and powerful it could even destroy the crystal heart..." Then suddenly a light appears near the cave and than a machine appears I was amazed... "Hello gentleman! My name is Doctor Whooves! I sensed a large amount of energy... Oh magic of course...Well i should lea-" "WAIT!" "You can't leave now, this is amazing! I've never seen a machine that can teleport..." "Not just teleport but time travel." I was surprised and amazed... I've never heard of such a thing! "Well I must be on my way good day to you and your dragon friend here!" The doctor left and Spike and I just went around to talk about what we should do.

Chapter Four: The Villan

TWILIGHT:

I was so worried. Spike is only a baby... He can't survive out here on his own I can't believe he ran away... "T-T-T-Twilight... Do we have to b-b-b-b-be out here?" Fluttershy asked in a very nervous manner. I and my friends went to the only place he could be, Zecora's hut, Zecora was there as she always is. "Well well well, What is it you need Everypony?" Zecora asked us all and turned looking at her potions for some sort of, well, I don't really know what she's making. "Hi Zecora, do you happen to know where Spike is?" I asked the zebra and walked around in the tree hut. "Why no Twilight I do not know, but I do think I saw him 3 days ago." Zecora said.

SPIKE:

I was happy to run away. All hands down. "So... Void have you ever made it so you could fly? and have the horn still?" I asked the unicorn. "actually, no I don't abuse shadow meld it is a powerful chi. But I do like to take my horn away and just fly around like a Pegasus." He said to me. We walked back into the cave and he made some tea. Man I love that tea he makes. It'd be nice if Fluttershy could taste it. Well, I don't care but hey, that's life am I right? "Void... Do you have any enemy's? Like a nemesis?" I asked. "Actually, yes, his name is Demon Cloud, an evil alicorn bent on destroying the elements of harmony and all good that exists, I must-" He cut off right there. "Sorry... I don't like to talk about what I do... Anyways... Demon Cloud tries to destroy the elements of harmony... But I make sure he doesn't win..."

VOID:

I was keeping a secret from a friend... That's not me... "Void, what'd you mean 'make sure he doesn't win'?" Spike asked me... I didn't want to say anything... Ugh cheer up Void! "Okay... You see Princess Celestia made me a shadow assassin and allowed me to guard the elements... But now that there with your ex-owner I have free time now. But the Princess made a mistake giving them to Twilight... She is now in danger..." It felt nice to get that out of my system... But where could Twilight be? I sensed she wasn't in PonyVille so Spike and I went to see Zecora... "Why hello Void! do you have my berries?" She asked me then I spotted 6 shadows of ponies... 2 pegasi, 2 earth ponies, a unicorn, And an- ALICORN! It was Twilight and her friends! "Spike there they are!" I shouted as happily as I could. "Okay but do I have to go back with twilight? I really don't want to." He said to me and was disappointed. "No you don't you just have to guard her with me you may not like her anymore but you like her enough to protect her." I said to the dragon. "Ugh... Okay I do like Twilight..." We headed outside to greet them, but right there, there he was, Demon Cloud...

Chapter Five: The Battle

We headed out of Zecora's and walked around seeing if we could find Spike. "D-d-d-do you r-r-r-really think he's here T-T-T-Twilight?" Fluttershy asked me I responded like this. "Of course he is Fluttershy!" I told her and then this came up. "HAHAHA! Look! It's Spike in Zecora's house! HAHAHAHA!" Pinkie just kept laughing and- "WHAT THE HAY!?!?" I shouted when I saw a sight of an alicorn soaring above. "What is that?" Rainbow asked in confusion. "I don't know but lets hope he's nice..."

SPIKE:

"Void... Do we REALLY have to fight Demon Cloud?" I asked Void in a nervous manner. "Yes Spike Demon Cloud has enough hatred in him to destroy all happiness." He told me, I was in a bit of shock after I heard that but I was okay. "Alright... Better get over there..." We raced towards them and saw him, the black stallion with a red main and hooves as well as tail... "Whoa... That's one ugly pony..." Then he turned his head as fast as Rainbow flies. "Ugh sorry sorry..." I said, while Void just stared... At Twilight? I KNEW IT! He does have a crush on her! "Uhh... Void? shouldn't we be fighting Demon Cloud?" I asked. "Oh sorry the beauty of Twilight is unbearable and yes we should." He said and WOW he even said that out loud! That's funny! "DEMON CLOUD!" He shouted out.

VOID:

Okay I guess I went a LITTLE to far shouting at him BUT me and Spike turned to shadow immediately and started the routine. "We're not doing anything!" Spike shouted out. "I know he's resilient against shadow!" I shouted back. "What!?" The dragon shouted again. "Then why are we blasting?!" He asked. "He swallows energy! To much'll get him to get a stomach ache like thing!" I answered him. "Oh. Cool! Well I'm gonna go and see how *blushes* Rarity's doing" Spike said in a bit of a... Well... Lovey manner of course he had a crush on Rarity. Very soon Demon Cloud felt sore. "Well we drove him off but not for long anyways lets turn back now." We turn back yo our physical forms and greet the others.

Chapter Six: The Phoenix

TWILIGHT:

We saw Spike drive the alicorn away from us, I loved that he tried to save us. "Spike! I'm so glad to have you back! Why'd you run away?" I asked Spike, though I was furious with him, I still wanted him to come back to the library. "Spike, dear, why in the WORLD did you leave?" Rarity asked him. "Because of TWILIGHT!" He said in a 'I thought you'd have figured out why by now' voice. "But... Spike you should have told me... Who's this?" I asked looking at the black stallion, who was looking at me as if he fell in love with me. "I am Void, leader of timber wolf pack alpha, and guardian of-" He cut off right when he said 'of.' Of what? "I'm sorry... I don't like to talk about my life..." He said. "That's okay, but you live with timber wolves? How come they don't attack you?" I asked. "They don't attack me because they think I'm one of them." He said back to me... I was still wandering if he fell in love with me... the way he stares... "Uh... Twilight Sparkle-" I cut him off. "How do you know my name?" I asked. "Spike." He answered. "Ah, okay" I said.

SPIKE:

I was happy to see Rarity. "Rarity, um... I-I really didn't want to leave..." I told Rarity... "Oh, Spike, darling it's okay but that alicorn? Who was that?" She asked, confused. "His name is Demon Cloud-" "OH MY GOODNESS! Are those onyx gems?!" She asked Void. "Uh... Yes? Do you want some? Cause I have, like, 22 more at my cave and some tea if anypony's interested?" Void asked everypony. "I think we should go girls, to learn about that alicorn that attacked us..."

VOID:

Okay so, I think Twilight knows I am in love with her, great, ugh... "Okay so my cave should be- WHAT THE HAY IS THAT!?" I shouted out when I saw an enormous bird fly out in front of me... And landed on Spike? What? "Infernous? What are you doing here? I thought I put you back with your family..." Spike knew the phoenix? Hmm... "Well we're here... Huh? Where did my pack- DEMON CLOUD!" He was back and he looked ticked... Dang it... "Okay, Everypony I need you to turn to shadow, just focus your energies towards your shadow." I told everypony. "Why would we want to do that? Couldn't we use the elements of harmony?" They asked. "No, He would absorb the elements..." I said... It'd be very foolish to try and use the elements against him... "What? He... He... He wouldn't be able to do that... Would he?" Twilight asked. "He can... And he will... Demon Cloud is more or less the keeper of death... And the destroyer of happiness..." I said to them all. "Now turn to shadow and fight! We need to defend my cave I'll go get my armor that the princess gave to me." Did I REALLY just say that out loud? yes, yes I did... dang it... "Wait you know the princess? How is that?" Twilight asked... I didn't want to say but I had to... "Okay... It all started when you came to PonyVille... I was just taking a vacation to Canterlot... And the princess was out for some reason... She must have been invisible to everypony else BUT me cause I can sense the magical energies of other ponies... Including her... This is how i know her... Know her well... Well enough to Walk into the royal palace, she was kind and told me that i have an ability like no other... Though I'm almost blind... In a way at least... I still see all magical aura... She gave me this armor that was enchanted... So i could see it... But I keep it in my cave so no one can get to it." I told them all... This is why I don't share much about myself... I may look like I have perfect sight but my eyes are deceiving... "Your... Your blind? Then how do you see everything?" They all asked. "I see the energies of everything... It's known as aura..." I said. "Aura? I've heard of aura before... The magic that surrounds all Equestria... I thought it wasn't real... Anyways let's get to shadowing! We just focus?" They asked. "Yes, though I am not turning to shadow, I am going to do this. I CALL UPON THE EARTH, GUIDE ME THROUGH MY TROUBLES!" Suddenly, rocks and gravel surrounded around me, then a sword developed around my rocky hoof. "WHOA! Void you didn't tell me you could do THAT!" Spike told me. "Reason why is cause this is WAY to hard to cast!" Then all of the others tried to turn to shadow, one minute later they did. Twilight thought out. The yellow Pegasus thought out. Rainbow Dash thought out. Pinkie thought out as well. Rarity thought out. AJ thought out. "Now, just aim and FIRE!" The shadows then shot out bolts of lightning, while I was trying to beat the living HAY out of Demon Cloud. Luckily, he got tired and flew away. "Okay EVERYPONY INTO THE CAVE!"

Chapter Two: The Invasion

TWILIGHT:

"Okay girls we need to find Spike the only place he would go is in the Everfree forest." Twilight told everypony. "Um.. I-is it okay if I-I stay... here?" A light yellow pony with a pink mane asked. "No Fluttershy Spike is our friend we NEED to find him!"

Twilight told Fluttershy. "We'll find em' Twilight don't you worry one little bit." Applejack said to her friend in a slightly nervous manner. "I hope you're right Applejack I just hope he's okay..."

SPIKE:

"Is that you're pack Void?" Spike asked Void in a calm manner. "No it's not... Old friends come to take my pack... Heh you tried and failed old friend time to kick you out once more... Would you like to help Spike? You don't have to if you don't want to but there is something i think you would like that is needed in this fight... The shadow meld, would you like to join?" Void asked the happy dragon. "Please that shadow meld is REALLY cool I'll join sure." Spike told Void eagerly and exited about turning into shadow. "Alright! Now focus you're spiritual energy's towards you're shadow and try NOT to think of anything..." Void told the young dragon who then turned into shadow. "This is so COOL! Thanks Void for showing me this!" Spike was happy shouldn't we get to the other pack? Spike thought to himself. "Yes we should Spike." Void was able to read his thoughts and heard him think. "How did you? Oh i see."

VOID:

"Okay so we need to ward off the pack! follow me!" Void then quickly slid under the door and saw his pack still in vigil and the rival pack come towards the ceremony. "Okay one cool thing is that when you're shadow you can fly and you can make small bursts of darkness that really hurt." Void educated Spike on being pure shadow and then he flew up and blasted a timber wolf away Spike came up to Void and threw shadow bolts as well. "This is the coolest thing EVER!" Spike exclaimed. "Glad you like it you might feel a bit of head ache after we're done okay?" Void told the dragon. "Okay i really don't care cause this is AWESOME! Man I'm glad I ran away this is SO MUCH BETTER than sorting books all day." Spike was more happy than he's ever been and felt like he could grow wings he tried to shape himself into his body's shape but with wings so he could feel complete. "Man oh man I'm SOOOO happy right now." When the last timber wolf was struck they turned back into there normal selves but something was wrong, Spike had wings! "Huh?! Whoa Void what happened?" Spike asked. "When you turn back to you're normal self you keep the form you're shadow is in." Void told the dragon that now had wings. "Best. Day. Ever."
