Luna created Rio on earth for a man named Rio who named his son Lil Rio which is where this Pony got his name. Luna gave Rio the power of flight when she created him by placing a magical symbol of a pair of wings upon Rio’s heart which to this day is why he unlike other earth ponies can fly. He was raised in Calgary by Rio and then he was forced to leave his home and father in order to protect Equestria and create the Earthstrider divison of the Wonderbolts who are meant to help protect Equestria from various threats Ex: changlings. He has many new friends and found his very special somepony in equestria.
