I'll Show them All
Centrack City
Previous ChapterNext ChapterAfter a few weeks of traveling Spike and the girls finally reached the city of Centrack. As they stood a top a hill they looked down seeing the city below them. Even from way up they could tell it wasn't going to be such a lavish sophisticated location.
“So that's it?” Gabby asked everyone.
“Yes. Centrack City,” Twilight explained, “Tirek is held up here and overlooking several of his operations.”
“Do we know exactly where in this city he's operating from?” Wallflower inquired.
Sunset spoke up, “According to Celestia and Luna, Tirek's held up in a base located in the Northern section of the city.”
“So how do we get in?” Fluttershy asked.
Spike smirked, “Don't worry. I got an informant on the inside.”
“An informant, Spike?” Twilight asked curiously.
“Yeah. And he's legit.” Spike assured.
“Yes, he's helped us out a lot in the past.” Fleur added.
“He managed to get his way into Tirek's operations and now we have someone on the inside.” Moondancer finished.
“Ya reckin' he can get us in without problems?” Applejack asked.
“He's never steered us wrong before.” Rara noted.
“So let's go already!” Rainbow said eager for some action.
“Rainbow, we mustn’t be hasty here.” Rarity warned her.
“Rarity's right,” Twilight agreed, “Centrack is a place loaded with rogues, thieves, and smugglers.”
“We'll stick out if we go in how we are.” Saffron added.
“Right. Disguise time.” Spike said, as they pulled out cloaks and put them on while wearing their hoods up.
“Uh, how does this make us stick out less?” Pinkie asked with a shrug.
“Because we're public images.” Twilight reminded Pinkie of her and the rest of the guardians reputation.
“At least this way, they won't know ahead of time.” Sunset added.
“We better get moving.” Fleur insisted, as the nodded.
“Let's go get this son-of-a-bitch.” Spike said, as they headed out.
They marched along the path before entering the city. They looked around seeing it was indeed as they were told about it. Buildings were mostly run down, and all on the streets and blocks were vendors selling black market merch. Some of the people around being thieves were sneakily stealing off others without them knowing. When one realized they were about to be robbed, he grabbed the perpetrator and slammed them against the wall multiple times.
As Spike and the girls spotted this, Rainbow felt itching to help, but Applejack held her back not wanting her to blow their cover, but also because they both were thieves and that's how they work. Fluttershy and Gabby watched trembling from watching the two fight, but luckily many didn't notice because their hoods were up concealing their reactions.
Despite not getting involved there were still other rogues and thieves going about their day who stopped to look at the cloaked newcomers suspiciously.
“They're looking at us.” Wallflower whispered quietly.
“Just keep moving and don't make eye contact.” Spike whispered back, as they kept on moving.
Soon they got past the group watching them, as they just went back to what they were doing. They continued on through the city seeing it was pretty much the same as the last spot they were at with more rogues and thieves making trade or gambling for money.
“I don't get how this city could be like this.” Rainbow said.
“Because the people were too scared by those who invaded and took over this place making it their own,” Moondancer explained, “And with Tirek running things around here it's even worse.”
“Well, that'll change once he's behind bars.” Spike assured them.
“That's assuming your source is successful at getting us in.” Twilight noted.
Spike looked back at her, “Doubting me already, Twilight? And I thought things were different.” he acted in faux shock.
Twilight rolled her eyes, “Not the best time for humor, Spike.”
Pinkie leaned in, “There's always a time for humor, Twilight.”
“Not when we're on a mission this heavy.” Applejack replied.
“Quiet,” Spike shushed them, “We're almost at the rendezvous point.”
So the girls hushed up, as they walked over to a warehouse. Spike led them to a side door, where Spike knocked on it in a certain rhythm. The girls listened as there was a knock on the other side in the same rhythm. The guardians looked to Spike's entourage, as Saffron spoke, “Our little code of knowing it's us and the other.”
“Oh.” they replied.
Soon the door opened, and they stepped inside, closing the door behind them. The group saw standing before them was a guy slightly older than them with brown hair and a touch of purple. His attire was black pants, dress shoes, and a red jacket.
“Spike.” he greeted.
“Capper.” Spike replied, as the two approached and did a handshake, “Glad you managed to get your way into Tirek's operations.”
“Goodness it wasn't easy, but I just had to give that old Capper charm, and boom I'm in.”
Spike smiled and spoke to the guardians, “Girls, this is Capper. Our inside man.”
“Charmed and delighted.” he did a bow.
“Likewise.” Rarity replied, while giving Spike an assuring smile making him relieved she wasn't falling for another guy like she used to do.
“Capper, you're certain you'll be able to get us into Tirek's HQ?” Twilight inquired.
“As certain as anyone can be. See this truck?” Capper motioned to a delivery truck, “I'm meant to deliver these goods to the base, and you'll all be hitching a ride with it.”
“But what if someone spots us while checking the goods? Fluttershy asked in worry.
“They won't. For I made a special compartment underneath the goods for you all to hide in.”
“Will it fit all of us?” Fleur inquired while motioning to the whole group.
“Well, it might be a tight squeeze, but I think you'll be all right.” Capper said.
“If you say so, Capper.” Moondancer replied.
“You all better get in now. I got to pick up the goods soon.” Capper instructed.
“Right.” Spike replied, as Capper showed them into the back of the truck.
Capper opened the compartment, as they all slid down into it. When Gabby was the last one in, the inside man spoke, “You all good?”
Spike who was crowded between Twilight and Fleur, specifically his head between their breasts answered, “A little tight, but we'll be fine.”
“Good. Now remember don't make a sound.”
Everyone turned to Pinkie, who frowned, “You know I got this feeling you all think I can't keep quiet.”
“Nothing personal, darling, but you do have a habit to be loud and excited.” Rarity answered while trying not to be mean about it.
“Eh, fair enough.” Pinkie admitted.
“Alright, here we go.” Capper closed the lid.
“Jeez it's dark in here.” Rainbow said.
“How about some light?” Spike asked, as they got out their phones and set the light on. They slid their phones together making it one big light for them inside the compartment.
They heard the truck started and soon it began to move. Spike and the girls kept still inside, as the truck moved along the streets of the city before eventually stopping and heard Capper call out to someone.
“Just load the goods in the back, and be careful with it. I don't want the boss chewing my head off if something happens to them!”
“Yeah-yeah, I know.” they heard obviously coming from the one loading the goods.
The group listened, as the goods were being placed above the compartment they were hiding in. They made sure to keep it down, until the goods were all finished being loaded in.
“Alright, that's the last one!”
“Thanks again!” Capper called, as he started the truck and drove off again.
Spike whispered to the girls, “Alright, the goods are in place.”
“Next we're going into Tirek's HQ.” Fleur whispered.
“Alright, everybody. This is what we've been waiting for.” Twilight finished as they all braced themselves knowing there was no turning back.
