Star Wars EQG: Episode 1, Harmony of the Force
Chapter 38
Previous ChapterNext ChapterThe battle of Naboo rages on, with many sides currently fighting on different parts of the planet.
Outside the capital city, droids and fighters were attempting to force their way in and destroy the place. But the opposing forces of Jedi and Naboo were keeping them at bay as best they could. And in the oceans, the gungan were fighting a bunch of droids that were trying to destroy everything in said ocean.
In one of the meadows of Naboo, Flash Sentry stood staring down Armalum as the pair walked through the tall grass.
Flash glanced back at where Springer was, the little droid having been damaged and shut down. Flash had to keep Armalum away from him, fearing he or a stray laser might damage him beyond repair. And so, he turned his attention back onto the droid and raised his sword.
Armalum did the same and as a strong breeze blew the grass, the pair charged as Flash let out a roar.
Flash slashed first, Armalum dodging the strike and causing Flash to almost hit the tall grass. The Padawan realised that if he wasn't careful, he could set the tall grass alight. And that wouldn't be good for either him or Armalum.
As such, the pair began to clash swords above the grass' level. They fought with everything they had, their swords sparking every time they connected. And Flash was quickly overpowered by the droid's superior strength.
Armalum leapt back and fired his arm blaster, Flash blocking the lasers as the droid charged and slashed at him. But Flash managed to duck under the blade and with a lucky swing, he struck the arm blaster and cut it off. "Augh!" Armalum staggered back, checking the damage and seeing his blaster was gone.
Flash smirked as he stood up, but Armalum charged and swung his blade at Flash before the teen could properly block.
Flash did his best to shield himself and when the two blades connected, Armalum spun them in a circular fashion before forcing Flash's blade straight up. This caused Flash's grip to loosen and the blade was soon upwards and out of his grasp, Flash gasping and forced to look away from his blade as it fell into the tall grass a good distance away.
Now weaponless, Flash found himself needing to constantly dodge all of Armalum's attack.
"Ha! What can you do without your Lightsaber?" Armalum struck at Flash again, but the teen dodged again. Flash looked around, trying to figure out where his Lightsaber was. But he couldn't. Not with Armalum attacking him like this. If he couldn't find his Lightsaber soon, he was gonna be in serious trouble.
Over at the city, Rainbow and Pinkie continued their fight on the ground whilst Shining was flying around along with several Naboo fighters.
Shining did a barrel roll and blasted several fighters, but more Naboo pilots found themselves gunned down and the fighters charged towards the city. But before they could enter, Spitfire's Delta-X flew up to them and destroyed the lot.
The ships were now down to only a small handful, whilst the droids on the ground were also getting low in number. But Rainbow and Pinkie were growing tired, both wishing the fight was over so they could go and take a nap. Rainbow dual wielded her Lightsabers, as she spun through the air and cut the droids apart. At the same time, Pinkie flicked her whip around and sent the blue coil flying.
It flew downwards and sliced several droids in a line apart, Pinkie pulling the whip back as more droids fired at her. But she flicked the energy coil around to deflect them before spinning and sending the whip around to deflect the lasers.
Rainbow landed beside Pinkie, the two standing at the gates of the city. They weren't sure, but they believed the droids were down to the double digits. Hopefully, they could hold out until they were all defeated.
In another area of the planet, Celestia and Tirek were still fighting.
Tirek let out a roar, as he unleashed a blast of red lightning from his horns. The volts shot towards Celestia and she was able to block it with her Lightsaber, the energy being repelled by the laser sword. Tirek growled at this, as Celestia charged forward.
She slashed at Tirek, moving as fast as she could whilst flying around the giant centaur. The Sith managed to block her attacks with his double-edged sabers, but it was a difficult task and he was starting to get tired. "For god's sake. I should be in the city by now."
"I won't let you take the city," Celestia told him. "I've seen what you do to those you capture. The pain and suffering you put them through. It's disgusting and I won't let anyone else suffer like that."
"That's right. You managed to liberate some of the slaves that were sent to that idiot, Voltus. That fool was such a waste of space. If it wasn't for his father, we would have dealt with him a long time ago."
"If you know what's good for you, you'll release those people from your service and send them home."
"Ha!" Tirek laughed, "like we'd do that. If they didn't want to be enslaved, they should have fought harder and not been captured." Celestia glared at him. "The galaxy is a harsh place. It's eat or be eaten. If you're not strong enough to protect yourself, you don't get a say in what happens to you. That's the most important deciding factor of the universe. POWER!"
"No," Celestia told him, "it's not. Power might help you achieve your goals, but power on its own is hollow. The true deciding factor of the universe, are the bonds we share with those around us. So long as we don't let them shackle us, a bond of love, friendship and compassion will allow us to defeat any enemy. No matter how powerful they are."
"Don't make me laugh," Tirek stated. "You expect me to believe such garbage." He galloped forward and swung his sword towards her, but Celestia was able to block it. "Power is all that matters. And when I've defeated you, I'll drain your power and become the most powerful Sith in the galaxy. Not even Sombra will be able to defeat me."
"That's...not gonna happen!" Celestia groaned as she pushed the Lightsaber back and flew up, avoiding the other blade and flipping through the air. She glared at the Sith, as she prepared another attack. She would show him the true power that ruled the galaxy. The power that Jedi wielded to protect those who couldn't protect themselves.
Back underwater, Twilight and Solara were staring one another down.
Solara was currently letting Twilight's words sink in. "What? What do you mean, I'm Celestia's daughter? How is something like that possible?" She growled, raising her sword again. "This is just a Jedi Trick. You're trying to distract me so you can kill me."
"I'm not," Twilight shook her head, "I'm telling you the truth. You are Celestia's daughter."
"How?"
"Remember when you first came to Canterlot with us. We took a sample of your DNA, to try and find your family. Celestia discovered your DNA was a mix of hers and someone else's. And she thinks the other one might be Sombra."
"No," Solara shook her head. "You're lying."
"I'm not. Celestia might be wrong about the Sombra part, but she's not about you being her daughter."
"So your high and mighty grandmaster, had a child and just abandoned her." Sunset's grip on her Lightsaber tightened, as she thought about the Jedi master she had heard so many stories about. Got to know during her time at the temple. Learned so much about. "She abandoned me?"
"No," Twilight told her. "She didn't give birth to you. Celestia never got that far with anyone. You don't have to give birth to someone to be their mother. You were born the same way all those Bug Troopers were born. That's what we're guessing."
Solara let that info sink in, slowly putting the pieces together. "You're saying I'm a clone?"
"No," Twilight shook her head, "a clone is an exact copy. You were born from mixing two different DNA samples, the same way everyone else is born. You're Celestia's daughter. And possibly Sombra's. You were just...skipped the whole being birthed part."
Solara just stood there, as Twilight's words played out within her mind.
She remembered Sombra, telling her how he had discovered her on the almost uninhabited planet as a baby. Had...had that all been a lie? "That's...no..."
"Solara. Sombra didn't find you. He made you. And it's clear he didn't do so out of any form of parental love. Wouldn't he have told you if he did. He's your father and he never told you the truth about where you came from."
"I..." Solara didn't know what to say. "If he really is my father..."
"You think you should be more loyal to him. But he's only using you. He cloned you and lied to you. He tried to turn you into a killer and made you do terrible things. You don't owe him anything."
"He gave me life."
"But he doesn't own that life. Please, don't let him treat you like a puppet."
"Be quiet!" Solara charged and threw her Lightsaber, using all her confusion and anger to increase her strength. Twilight barely managed to raise her sword in response. The two pushed against one another, as Solara let out a roar. "I don't know if this is a lie or not. But it doesn't matter. I'm a Sith and that's all that matters."
"Sunset..." Twilight groaned.
"Don't call me that!" She pulled back and slashed at Twilight, the Padawan leaping away from it before diving past her whilst she was still off balance. She managed to get behind Solara and began to run down the corridor. If she couldn't stop Solara, her only hope was to get to the relic first.
As such, she ran as fast as she could whilst being careful not to set off any traps.
The walls were tube-like, covered in small holes that put Twilight on edge. But she didn't get to see what they could do, since Solara was quickly on her before she got a chance. The Sith swung her sword at her and Twilight blocked with hers, the impact making her stagger back before she suddenly felt her hoof hit something.
The two equestrian girls suddenly heard a sound coming from the wall and when they looked over, they saw it suddenly launched out a blast of high speed water. Said water flew past them and hit the far wall, but doing so caused the stone to crack.
They quickly realised that the pressure of that water, was enough to do some serious damage if they were hit. As such, Twilight raised her foot and began to pay attention to the ground. The floor was separated into multiple tiles and one of them could cause water to shoot at them.
Solara also appeared to realise this, but still charged forward to attack Twilight.
The pair fought against one another, making their way through the corridor and avoiding any water that they accidently launched at the other. This was clearly going to be a very difficult fight.
With Tidal, the Jedi was still under attack by the statues that were trying to crush him.
He leapt around to avoid one's staff, using his triple bladed Lightsaber Pike to cut at the stone. But the stone still managed to resist the energy weapon with light burning. Tidal then had to avoid the other two statues, which forced him to jump back several times.
He was getting exhausted and needed a rest, which was when he felt himself land beside the entrance he and Twilight had first come through.
As the statues moved towards him, Tidal ran down the passageway. He ran as far as he could, with the statues standing at the entrance. He expected them to kneel down and look through the passageway, but they didn't. Instead, they just stood there as Tidal moved further down the corridor.
A part of him hoped that the statues would return to their original positions. "Solara was only fighting one when we arrived. The other two didn't awaken until Twilight and I stepped into the room. Hopefully, they'll go back to sleep and I'll only have to deal with one when I go back inside." He sighed, bending over to relax himself as he tried to regain the strength he had lost in the fight. Hopefully, the lock would also reset and he could go after Twilight.
As this was going on, the gungan warriors were still fighting the sting ray droids that had invaded their oceans.
Sclash was swimming around, dodging lasers and jabbing his electro staff into the droids. But whenever one droid short circuited, two more seemed to take its place and attack them. And sure enough, the gungan forces were starting to take losses as well.
One warrior got hit by a laser and was dead before he realised what had hit him, whilst a gungan attack ship found its sides getting cut open by a droid's tail before exploding. Many gungans were also tiring, since they had to rush over to the battle ground to save him.
Sclash was the most exhausted of the lot, since he had been fighting longer and had been leading Twilight and Tidal to the location. But he kept fighting. He wouldn't allow his gungan pride to be lost to exhaustion.
He electrocuted another droid before spotting one of their subs that had been knocked out of action. As it fell to the seafloor, Sclash saw that its engines were sparking. It wouldn't be long before it exploded. But the gungans inside weren't evacuating.
Swimming down, he looked through the glass and saw the gungans couldn't escape the cockpit. One was trying to open a hatch, but it wouldn't open. They were trapped.
As he tried to find a way to free them, Sclash sensed danger and spun around. At the last moment, he saw a droid's spinning tail flying towards him. He barely managed to dodge it, the tail flying past and hitting the glass of the sub. And when it did, the glass cracked and Sclash smiled.
He remained in front of the glass and the droid attacked again, its tail flying towards him. But at the last moment, he pushed off the sub and swam under the droid.
This caused the tail to hit the glass again, the tip piercing the glass and creating multiple cracks along the window.
Sclash then stabbed his staff into its underside, destroying it as the gungans in the sub used their own staffs to break the cracked glass. Sclash looked back and saw them swimming out of the sub, as the engines kept sparking. They all swam away, as the sub exploded and the shockwave knocked them all away.
Sclash ended up floating over the trench, almost dropping his staff into it. Luckily, he was able to grab it again and continue the fight. But he wasn't sure how much longer her could go on like this.
Back with Flash, the young Jedi was barely managing to avoid Armalum's attacks whilst trying to locate his Lightsaber.
The droid actually laughed, as he stabbed his blade at Flash and managed to graze his shoulder. "Augh!" He clutched it, as he staggered around and felt scared. Something Armalum obviously sensed, however that worked. "Back off!" Flash thrust his hand forward and tried to Force Push Armalum away, but the droid only slid back a foot or two before holding his ground.
"Poor little Jedi!" He swung his Lightsaber around, hitting the top of the tall grass and causing it to ignite. "So useless that without a Lightsaber, you're completely helpless."
Flash frowned, thinking he might be right. But then he remembered many lessons Grand, Shining and other Jedi had taught them. Having a Lightsaber was great, but it didn't make him strong. "I make myself strong."
"What?" Armalum asked, as he swung his blade and burned more grass. But before it could really spread, Flash held his hand up and the burning grass was suddenly ripped out of the ground. Armalum saw this and charged at Flash, but the teen closed his eyes and ran forward.
As the droids slashed at him, Flash leapt forward and jumped over the blade without looking.
He landed and thrust his hand forward, sending the burning grass towards Armalum. The flaming plant life landed on his robotic body and got stuck in the edges of his armor, resulting in the flames beginning to kiss his body. "Augh!" He started patting the flames out, allowing Flash a chance to focus.
After a few moments, he managed to lock onto his Lightsaber and ran over to it. But Armalum managed to put out the flames and ran after him, his robotic legs allowing him to move faster.
He reached Flash and slashed at him, but Flash was able to dodge whilst his eyes were still closed. He even did a backwards cartwheel and when he landed, the back of his foot kicked something and he smiled. As Armalum charged again, he summoned it to his hand and hit the button.
The blue blade extended and as Armalum swung his blade down on him, Flash blocked with his own weapon.
The two beams clashed and pushed against one another, with Flash somehow able to overpower the droid and push him back. Flash stood strong, his battle stance hard as Armalum growled. "Showoff."
Flash smiled. "A Lightsaber is just a tool. A powerful one, but not an essential one." He charged. "Let me show you what the true strength of a Jedi is!" He got in close and Armalum slashed at him, but Flash managed to avoid it with little effort and swung his sword forward.
This caught part of Armalum's shoulder and cut into it, making him cry out.
He staggered back and Flash kept up the attack, Armalum swinging his blade at the teen again. But Flash didn't attempt to block it this time, knowing he couldn't keep up with Armalum's strength. Instead, he used his blade to deflect the blow and have the droid's momentum push him away.
As Armalum staggered forward, Flash spun around and slashed at his back.
The droid roared, as sparks flew out of the hole that had been made. But he refused to give up and attacked again, as Flash once again deflected the attack. And this time, he managed to get part of Armalum's leg damage.
"AAAAARRRRRHHHHH!" He roared, as his leg sparked and barely held his weight. In a rage, he ran forward and Flash was ready.
As Armalum charged, Flash leapt to the side and swung his Lightsaber down as soon as the droid's arms passed him. And before Armalum could respond, the blue blade cut straight through his wrists and his hands were severed off.
"NOOOOO!" He staggered back, as Flash spun on the spot and swung his Lightsaber upwards. He cut through the droid's chest and burned away the front armor of his body.
Flash finally stopped and stared at the damage that had been done to the Sith droid. He hoped this would be enough to disable him, but he was still able to remain operating. He was about to go on the attack again, but stopped when he saw something coming out of Armalum's chest. A faint purple light.
"What is that?" As he focused on the light, he suddenly got a very bad feeling. As if the light was pulsing with dark power. Whatever it was, Flash knew it was dangerous.
Back at the city, Shining finally blasted the last Sith fighter out of the sky.
He sighed, happy that he no longer had to worry about losing anymore ships. Only a third of the Naboo fighters remained, the group beginning to make their way back to the city. And as they did, Shining spotted the droid army was also down to its last few groups of droids.
He saw Rainbow and Pinkie, the two girls looking ready to drop dead any second from exhaustion.
As such, he flew down towards the pair and used the last of his ship's energy to unload a bunch of lasers. These lasers destroyed most of the droids, Rainbow and Pinkie seeing this and smiling at him. They then finished off the last of the droids and were finally able to relax.
Shining flew back up and when he did, he noticed a light a fair distance away.
Looking around, he spotted two figures moving around one another with red and gold light sparking. This caused Shining to realise that Celestia was missing, the Jedi Knight flying around and heading towards the light.
There, he saw Celestia flying around Tirek and managing to overpower his two double-edged blades.
But Shining could tell she was also getting tired and as Tirek launched a blast of red lightning, she barely managed to dodge it. "Oh no you don't!" He fired at the centaur, his energy levels getting dangerously low.
Tirek and Celestia heard the lasers and looked around, as the Delta-X fired at Tirek and the Sith found himself deflecting the attacks as best he could. But several got past his defences and slammed into him, exploding and knocking him staggering back. "Augh!" Celestia saw this and capitalised on it, the grand master leaping forward and slashing at him with her Lightsaber.
But Tirek just managed to dodge the attack and stagger back, as he let out a roar and unleashed another burst of lightning from his horn.
This lightning surged out in multiple different directions, forcing Celestia back whilst Shining's ship was struck. "Ahhh!" The Delta-X began to overload and Shining had to cut the power, the Jedi quickly activating his atmosphere suit and killing the engines.
This meant the ship began to glide down towards the ground, Shining putting down the landing gears before hitting the eject button.
The cockpit flew open and he was propelled into the air, as the ship hit the ground and bounced on its wheels before slowing to a stop. And as it did, Shining flipped through the air before landing on the ground.
He charged towards the fight, as Tirek's lightning sure ended and Celestia flew at him again. Shining ignited his Lightsaber and as soon as he was close, he leapt at the centaur. Tirek was quite surprised, when Shining ran into the fight. Now he was battling on two fronts, which didn't pose well for him.
Twilight staggered back, accidentally pressing a tile that fired a blast of water at her.
She saw it coming and realised she didn't have enough time to dodge it. Instead, she raised her Lightsaber and just managed to block it. And as soon as the water hit the beam, it evaporated and filled the corridor with steam.
Solara ran forward, right into this steam. She regretted that instantly, as the visors of her helmet began to smog up and she was completely blind. "Augh!" She cried, trying to wipe her visor. But it was proving tricky.
Twilight saw this and realised she had a chance.
She ran forward, avoiding the water jet tiles, and swung her Lightsaber at Sunset's. She was trying to cut the weapon in half without hurting Solara, hoping that being disarmed would cause her to give up. But just as she was about to hit it, Solara seemed to sense her intentions and pulled back.
"HEY!" She cried, swinging the blade around. "What are you trying to do?"
"End this fight without hurting you."
Solara didn't seem to take this plan well and finally pulled her helmet off, revealing the face Twilight had once been happy to see. "Well it's not gonna happen. If you want to stop me, you're going to have to kill me."
"I won't kill you!" Solara dropped her helmet and ran forward, attempting to slash at Twilight. She blocked, their eyes locked on one another. "You're my master's daughter. You're a part of the Jedi Order."
"I am not a Jedi!" Solara cried, pushing Twilight back even more. "I am a Sith. Future ruler of the galaxy and I don't care who my mother is. I will destroy anyone who gets in my way!" She charged again, using all her frustrations as she slashed at Twilight as hard as she could.
Twilight grunted, as she continuously staggered back with every block she succeeded. Several times, she accidentally hit a water tile and the pair had to avoid getting a hole blasted through them. But Solara didn't stop, even whilst avoiding the water.
Eventually, the pair found themselves at the end of the corridor and stepped out into another large room.
The pair looked around and found the place was completely empty, with no statues or water guns there to get in their way. All there were were six stone pillars, located in a circle near the middle of the room. But the relic wasn't in the middle of the room and there didn't appear to be a door, or anything, leading them to another part of the temple. This was it.
"What?" Solara growled, "where's the relic?" Twilight was wondering the same thing, since there didn't seem to be any sign of it anywhere. "Is this some kind of Jedi trick?"
"Don't look at me," Twilight told her. "I just got here when you did." She frowned, trying to figure out what the trick was. But a thought then occurred to her. "What if the relic isn't here?" Solara frowned. "I'm just guessing. Maybe whoever built this temple, didn't put the relic inside. Maybe they just built it and then hid the relic somewhere else."
"Why would they do that?" Solara asked.
"Maybe they hoped whoever came here would get themselves killed on the way into this room. Maybe the relic's buried somewhere outside the temple." Solara growled, as she turned back to Twilight.
"If the relic isn't here, then I'll just have to make you pay."
"Why me?" Twilight didn't get an answer, as Solara charged and slashed at her. She blocked with her own blade and the two were once again at each other's throats.
Tidal had waited a good while before heading back into the room.
The statue's legs had moved out of view, but he knew that didn't mean they were beaten. The Jedi entered the chamber and looked around, seeing that the statues were all back in their regular positions. And as Tidal made his way towards the door, he kept an eye on them. But they weren't moving.
Finally, he reached the lock and tried to see if the balls were there again.
But before he could tell, he sensed movement and spun back around. And sure enough, the three statues were once again moving. None of them had deactivated. "Oh, come on!" He reignited his weapon and leapt into the air, dodging the hand that was trying to grab him.
He wanted to once again run for the passageway out, but realised he would be trapped there. Clearly, these statues wouldn't be deactivating any time soon. "I've gotta find a way to stop these things once and for all!" He slashed at one, but still had little to no effect on the unusual stone. "What's it gonna take to finally cut these things down once and for all?" He rolled under another's staff and stood defensively, wishing he could unlock the door and jump through it.
Back with Flash and Armalum, Flash was staring at the gash in Armalum's chest.
The dark light coming out of the hole, was giving Flash the creeps. It was like Flash was staring at the face of evil. "What is that?" Armalum growled, trying to find a way to cover the light with little success. "Some kind of power source? Whatever it is, it's just pulsing with dark energy."
Armalum said nothing and simply stepped backwards.
"Oh no you don't." Flash prepared to attack again. "I'm not letting you get away. Your reign of terror ends here!" He charged, but Armalum managed to leap away from him. However, the droid's damaged leg took a lot of weight as he landed. He could feel himself getting closer to breaking and when that happened, he was gonna be in trouble.
Flash reached out with The Force, hoping to pull the droid towards him. But Armalum used all the strength he had to block it. The two fought this mental battle for several long moments, as Armalum kept moving away from Flash. But eventually, Flash leapt forward and almost cut him in half.
Armalum jumped back, but this caused his leg to break and he was forced to fall into the tall grass.
Flash stepped forward, pointing his sword at the droid. "Any last words?" Armalum tried to shuffle back, but Flash followed. And just as the droid was about to accept defeat, he saw something that made him chuckle.
"Yes. Excellent timing." Flash tilted his head, until he heard an engine approaching and looked around.
There, he saw a Sith fighter flying towards him. And as it got close, it started firing lasers in Flash's direction. They slammed into the ground and exploded, sending dirt and rocks flying all over the place. Flash could do nothing but shield himself as best he could, whilst Armalum pulled himself along until he was far away from Flash.
Once he was a good distance away, the fighter suddenly deployed something. Some kind of disk on the end of a chord, which flew down over Armalum.
Suddenly, the droid was pulled into the air and the fighter quickly flew up and took him with it. Flash saw this and gasped, trying to run after them and even throwing his Lightsaber in hopes of slicing the chord. But the blade missed and Armalum was safely pulled into the air.
"We'll meet again, Sentry!" Armalum roared, as he disappeared into the sky and Flash was left to do nothing but watch him vanish.
Flash sighed, as he moved over to where his Lightsaber had fallen. He then looked around, seeing the droid parts that were scattered all around the place. He picked up several parts and moved back over to where Springer had fallen. Flash could only hope some of them would help him fix his droid friend. And that his friends would arrive before the enemy.
Armalum was letting himself lay there, as he hung under the ship whilst they flew towards the Destroyer.
Said ship had returned from the sea and was heading back towards the city. Hopefully, Solara had acquired the relic and he could retrieve her. If she didn't get back soon, the combined Jedi Naboo forces would soon overwhelm them
The fighter flew into the Destroyer and the changelings saw him in a terrible state. "Fetch me a table to lay upon!" He was slowly lowered down, as the changeling grabbed a hover table for him. Once he was laid upon it, he turned to the changelings. "What's the current status of the attack?"
"The fighters and droids have all been destroyed," a changeling announced. "Tirek is currently battling two of the Jedi. One of them is the grand master, Celestia." Armalum sighed, not liking those odds.
"Get us to him right away. We need to get him out of there before he's overwhelmed."
"What about Solara?" One changeling asked.
"Begin preparations to retrieve her as well. We'll get her as soon as we have Tirek back. In the meantime, I need to have this damage checked out." The ordered a changeling to push him to the droid bay, where he could see how much damage he had actually acquired during his battle with Flash.
As he moved through the ship, he thought about the fight that had just happened and growled. He, an almighty Sith, had been overpowered and almost defeated by a Padawan. Shame filled his mechanical heart.
"Flash Sentry. The next time we face off, things will be different. I can assure you of that."
Back at the city, Rainbow and Pinkie were making their way through it towards the main hall.
They knew they should have headed off to try and find Celestia, but the pair were too exhausted and knew they would likely just get in the way. "So what do we do?" Pinkie asked, carefully stepping over a sleeping soldier. "We can't just leave them all out here?"
"That's why we're heading for the city hall," Rainbow told her. "If the queen's anywhere, she's in there. We just gotta find her and get some new orders." But as she said that, someone else walked out onto the main street. "Master!" Rainbow saw Spitfire and ran over to her.
"Rainbow!" She smiled. "You're alright." Her student nodded. "Good. My ship's currently being refuelled in case another wave of fighters arrive." She looked around and frowned. "Where's Shining?"
"He flew off in the direction Celestia went."
"Right," Spitfire nodded as she saw the state of all the people there. "We need to find a way to cancel out whatever the heck they put into the atmosphere. That should allow these people to wake up." She thought for a moment, then remembered something. "Springer got a sample of the gas. Maybe he can create a counter toxin to it."
"Where is Flash?" Pinkie asked. "Wasn't he in a Delta-X with the rest of you?"
"He was," Rainbow nodded. "But I saw him flying off, fighting against one of those bug fighters. I lost track of him after that."
"Same here," Spitfire nodded before opening up her gauntlet. "Flash. Flash Sentry. Do you copy?" She tried to connect, but was having a hard time getting a signal through to him. But then, a crackly voice spoke up.
"Spitfire. I'm here." The static was terrible. "Sorry. Barely got any signal."
"Where are you?" Spitfire asked.
"Not sure. I think I'm somewhere west of the city. My ship got shot down, so Springer and I had to bail." Flash tried to say something, but the signal was dying. They were only able to make out a few worlds from what he was saying. "Spring...serio...aged. If I...fix him...ight lo...ever."
Spitfire frowned, her brain trying to figure out what he had said.
"Springer's been seriously damaged," Pinkie gasped. "If he doesn't fix him soon, he might lose him forever."
Spitfire frowned. "Okay. You girls head to the Shooting Star. Go get him before anything bad happens. And if he can fix Springer, see if the droid has a way to reverse the effects of this gas." The girls nodded. "I'll head back to my ship. Once it's refuelled, I head out and make sure no other fighters attack the city." The girls raced off, as Spitfire looked up towards the sky. "I get the feeling this fight has only just begun."
Celestia charged at Tirek once again and slashed her Lightsaber towards him, but Tirek managed to avoid the blade as Shining went in for the attack as well.
He leapt back and as he landed, her threw his front legs up into the air. "RAAAAAAAAAAH!" He suddenly slammed his hooves into the ground and when he did, the entire ground began to shake apart.
"Wow!" Shining cried, as Celestia remained in the air. And before he could ask what was happening, the ground around Tirek began to crack apart. One crack flew between Shining's legs and Shining suddenly found it expanding and his hooves moving away from one another. "Oh no!" He pushed one hoof over the crack and landed, as the broken ground rose up several feet.
Celestia dived down, as Tirek raised his hand and caused several blocks of earth to go flying upwards towards her.
The omni started dancing around, trying to avoid the rocks whilst Shining was forced to leap from one block to the other. Tirek's frantic waving of his arms was sending the rocks circling around him, forming a shield that the Jedi had little to no hope of getting past.
Eventually, one earth block hit its mark and Celestia was slammed into the side of one.
She grunted, trying to push against the block with little success. Shining saw this and tried to Force Hold the block himself, but Tirek's hold on it was far stronger and he quickly spun the block around. This also pushed Celestia down towards the ground, Tired laughing as he dropped his hold on the block.
Gravity suddenly took over and Shining lost his grip on it, causing the block to fall towards the ground with Celestia under it. "NO!" He cried, but Celestia was far from finished.
Pulling her fist back, she punched it was all her strength and the earth block split in half. The two parts fell on either side of her, whilst Celestia landed on the ground completely unscathed. "What?" Tirek cried, as Celestia stood tall.
"Omni come with a lot of strength," Celestia announced. "Nice try." Tirek glared at her, as she and Shining tried to attack once again.
Celestia flew through the spinning shield of earth blocks, whilst Shining simply leapt from one to another. Slowly, they made their way closer and closer to Tirek. But before they could reach him, Tirek summoned all the earth blocks towards him. They slammed together and formed an igloo of rock and soil, which protected him from the incoming attack.
Celestia slashed at the igloo, melting through the rock. But before she or Shining could do any real damage to it, the blocks broke into multiple pieces and began to shudder.
Celestia's eyes went wide, as she turned to Shining. "MOVE!" But before they could, the igloo exploded and sent rocks flying in every direction at high speed. These rocks slammed into them and they were both thrown backwards, crying out as they felt the hard material batter against their bodies.
They both hit the ground and flinched, each feeling something within them breaking. The groans, the pain overwhelming, as Tirek laughed. "Too easy." He moved towards them, licking his lips as he got ready to snack on them both. Their Force power would soon nourish him.
Solara swung her blade and Twilight ducked under it, rolling away from Solara as she pointed her own weapon at the Sith.
Solara then thrust her hand out, Twilight doing the same as they tried to overpower the other. And whilst Solara clearly had the saber advantage, Twilight was better skilled with The Force. And after a few moments of this, Solara was pushed backwards and let out a cry as she slammed into one of the columns that held the room.
As Solara fell to the ground, Twilight heard a noise and noticed that part of the column had just spun. Finally having a chance to study them, she noticed all the columns had a spinning part in the middle. And each of these wheels had a bunch of symbols carved onto them. And above the wheel was another symbol, each one different and pointing into the centre of the room.
As Twilight watched it spin, she smiled as she realised exactly what had happened. "Looks like I was wrong."
"What?" Solara asked, as she pushed herself up. "What are you talking about?" Twilight said nothing, clearly having no intention of giving what she had realised away. But as Solara picked herself up, she glanced at the column beside her and seemed to figure out what it was.
A smirk appeared on her lips and she slowly spun the wheel, until the symbol on it was the exact same as the symbol up above it. Once she did that, her attention turned to the middle of the room.
Twilight frowned and quickly used The Force to spin all the other wheels, until their images matched the ones right above it. And as soon as the wheels were all in place, a clicking sound filled the air.
Suddenly, the centre of the room began to open. They both realised it was likely the relic being revealed. Solara smiled, but Twilight frowned and quickly spun one of the wheels around. This stopped the floor from opening, Solara gasping before glaring at the Jedi. "What are you doing?"
"If the relic is released, you'll try and take it. I won't let that happen."
"Oh, you'll let it happen alright!" Solara tried to spin the wheel back into place, but Twilight Forced the others to move out of position as well. Solara then charged, Twilight raising her sword in defend as the two collided once again.
"If you're determined to help the Sith rule the galaxy, then I can't let you get that key. Not if it can bring about some kind of monster." The two danced around one another, slashing and stabbing at each other in hopes of landing a critical strike. But Twilight's determination was allowing her to match Solara's higher skill. But it was only a matter of time before Solara was able to find an opening.
Back above ground, Flash was doing what he could to fix Springer's systems.
But without the proper tools and components, he was having a hard time making these repairs. The best he could do was reinforce the surrounding components, making sure the damage didn't spread. "Come on, bud. You can pull through. Just keep fighting and we'll get through this together.
He reconnected a few wires, whilst removing a part that had been damaged. He added a few more parts from what he could scrounge from Armalum's parts. But most of those parts weren't compatible with Springer's hardware.
Suddenly, Flash heard an engine and looked up towards the sky. There, he saw the Shooting Star flying towards him. He smiled and quickly waved at it, trying to catch their attention. And by the way the ship was slowing down, it did.
Flash watched it begin to descend, as he started gathering up everything he would need for Springer. He quickly tried to calculate what he would need to do to get him working again. And as far as he knew, everything was on the ship. Springer would hopefully be up and running in no time. And when that happened, they might be able to undo the effects of this strange mist.
But as the ship landed and he picked everything up, he happened to see something flying through the air. The Destroyer.
Tirek moved towards Celestia, who was trying to pick herself up and grab her Lightsaber.
But Tirek was faster and with a flick of his hand, both their weapons were sent flying off into the tall grass. "You're not escaping me." Tirek reached down and grabbed Celestia, his large meat hands wrapping around her entire chest and torso.
He lifted her up and as Celestia tried to pull herself free, he squeezed her tighter and whatever she had broken began to scream out to her and make her flinch. "Your power will soon be mine." Celestia glared at him, as his horns glowed.
Her body began to glow as well, the centaur opening his mouth to suck the power down his gullet.
But before he could, a bunch of lasers suddenly rained down around him. The explosions knocked him off his feet and caused Celestia to be thrown out of his grasp, the omni opening her wings and keeping from hitting the ground at the last minute.
She flew away from Tirek, then looked up to see a Delta-X flying towards them.
Spitfire smiled down at them, giving them a salute as she turned her attention back to Tirek. The Sith pushed himself up and glared at the ship, whilst Shining picked himself up and looked around. He flinched, his body still injured, but he refused to let that stop him.
He and Celestia moved over to where their Lightsabers had been thrown, as Spitfire launched a bunch of lasers down towards Tirek.
He quickly ignited his blades and started deflecting the lasers, as lightning surged around his horn. He then let out a roar, as the lightning exploded up towards the ship. But at the last moment, Spitfire managed to roll out of the way and allow Shining and Celestia to find their weapons.
Lightsaber in hand, the pair charged at the centaur. They did their best to ignore the pain in their chests, as they started striking at the centaur. The two of them, coupled with Spitfire firing whenever the other two were away, caused Tirek to become overwhelmed.
He managed to avoid the Lightsaber strikes, but the lasers were becoming an increasingly difficult problem.
One laser hit the ground in front of him and Tirek was blown back, roaring in pain as he slammed into the ground near the edge of a hill before falling over it and rolling down it. Celestia and Shining smiled at Spitfire, who nodded back before the Jedi went after Tirek.
The centaur was pushing himself back up, as the pair moved down the hill. "it's over, Tirek!" Shining prepared his Lightsaber to strike. "We have the high ground!"
Tirek growled, "you underestimate my power." The Jedi prepared themselves, as Tirek's horns sparked again. But this time, the sparking grew more and more intense. And as Tirek unleashed a powerful roar, the lightning exploded out of his body in all directions.
"WOW!" Shining and Celestia blocked it with their Lightsabers, but the energy was incredibly intense. So much so, that the static electricity managed to get around their swords and touch them. They didn't feel any pain, but they were getting serious goosebumps.
The two staggered back, as Spitfire tried to go in for an attack. But lightning flew up and she was forced to dodge it, as Tirek finished unleashing all of his power.
Once he did, he panted and staggered backwards. Celestia and Shining saw this and both prepared to attack. But before they could, their masks started giving off a warning sound.
They checked the controls on their gloves and found the static had messed with the energy output of their suit. If they didn't fix it, they would be at risk of falling under the sleep toxin's power.
The pair leapt back up the hill, extinguishing their Lightsabers as they tried to adjust the controls to overcome the static's effects. And as this was happening, Tirek recovered from his power surge. But he was still exhausted.
"I...will end this." But once again, he found himself getting shot at by Spitfire's ship.
He growled, staggering away from the lasers. But just as he was about to try and unleash another power surge, a laser shot at Spitfire and she barely managed to dodge it. "What?" Spitfire looked up and saw a bunch of fighters, heading her way from the Destroyer that had just arrived.
Shining and Celestia, found themselves getting shot at as well. The blast almost knocked them down, forcing them to retreat whilst Spitfire fought against the fighters.
At the same time, a bunch of wasp droids also few down.
They headed towards Tirek and as they got closer, they fired something from their stingers. It was a bunch of rope, which shot past Tirek from a different angle with the ends having hooks, that grabbed onto another rope to form a net of some kind.
The wasps pulled on the rope and it tightened under Tirek's armpits, the droids then flew up and lifted him into the air. "What are you doing?" He cried, as he was pulled upwards towards the Destroyer. "Put me down! I'm not finished here yet!"
The droids didn't answer and lifted him up towards the Destroyer. Spitfire saw this and tried to fly after him, but the fighters attacking her got in the way and she was forced to destroy them instead. And by the time she was done, the droids had gotten to the Destroyer and Tirek was safely inside.
Shining and Celestia watched the ship begin to turn, heading back the way he came. They shared a look, wondering why that had just happened. And they also wondered if this meant the Sith had completed their task. Has Solara gotten the relic, or had Twilight managed to get there first?
Author's Note
Well that was an intense Chapter. Twilight discovered how to get the relic and now she needs to keep it from Solara. And Flash managed to make Armalum retreat. But what was that light in his chest? Only time will tell.
