Star Wars EQG: Episode 1, Harmony of the Force
Chapter 37
Previous ChapterNext ChapterThe battle of Naboo had begun. The hunt for the last relic was in full swing under the water and above it, the fight beginning to get serious.
Up in the sky, Flash and Springer continued to fly under the green mist that the Sith had released into the atmosphere. A mist that was causing anyone who breathed it in to fall asleep. Not something that the droids of the Sith had to worry about.
Flash quickly pulled his Delta-X around, avoiding a laser fired at him by the enemy fighter. He quickly did a barrel roll and launched several lasers at another fighter, destroying it as he avoided another one's attack. He looked around and saw it was the special Fighters that had Armalum inside of it.
The Sith droid was clearly targeting him, attempting to blast him out of the sky. But Flash's skills at the controls were allowing him to avoid the shots.
Armalum glared at the ship in question. Unlike the others, he remembered Sombra's orders to destroy Flash or Shining no matter what. If he could take down the weaker of the two, the vision Sombra saw wouldn't come to pass.
Flash tried to get out of Armalum's targeting range, but the droid appeared to be just as good as him. "He's locking onto us!" Springer cried, as Flash fiddled with the controls.
"Hold on!" Flash pulled the leaver and the ship's propulsion went completely dead, causing Armalum's ship to fly past him. "Fire!" He shot several lasers at the ship, Armalum managing to pull his ship away so he didn't hit anything vital. He did do some damage, but nothing that would bring the ship down.
"We're beginning to lose altitude!" Springer cried, as Flash pushed the engines back up and the thrusters fired.
The ship began to pick up speed again, with Armalum's ship still in their sights. "Fire!" He shot several more lasers, but Armalum managed to avoid them all. The droid then did some nifty manoeuvres and managed to get behind them before firing, Flash also managing to avoid most of the lasers but still getting slightly grazed.
"Careful, Flash." Springer sounded worried. "This damage might not seem all that bad, but if it keeps piling up..." Another laser almost hit them. "Death by a thousand paper cuts."
Flash nodded, as he and Armalum kept dancing around each other in the air. Flash was so focused on this fight, he didn't realise he was getting further and further away from the main squad. Shining, Rainbow, Spitfire and the Naboo fighters were all battling against the changeling fighters, the lot also failing to notice Flash's slight disappearance.
Down on the ground, Celestia and Pinkie were all that stood between the droids and them entering the city.
The battle droids, wasp droids and scorpion droids were blasting away at the pair, as the two did their best to defend the capital city from their attack. Thanks to the gas that had been spread into Naboo's atmosphere, most of the ground forces had been nullified before they could come up with a way to defend themselves.
The sleeping chemical had many of them laid out in the streets, completely defenceless against the droids that were attacking them.
As such, Celestia and Pinkie were all that stood between the city and utter invasion. Luckily, the number of droids attempting to invade weren't that much. The pair could handle them. But Celestia could feel that droids weren't all they had to worry about.
And sure enough. As Celestia cut another battle droid down, she suddenly felt the ground begin to rumble beneath her hooves.
She looked down and saw the remains of a droid suddenly shake, clearly being vibrated by the shaking of the ground. And every second, the shaking got more and more violent. "That can't be good." She dodged a wasp droid's attack and cut it down, as she took to the air. And as she did, she spotted something in the distance that made her gasp. "Oh no."
Tirek charged towards them, both his double-ended Lightsabers ignited in each hand ready to cut down anyone in his path.
He was heading for the city and Celestia realised that if he got past, he could cause untold destruction. "Pinkie!" She called out to the squishy girl, who was currently twirling around with her Lightsaber whip twirling with her.
"Yes?"
"Deal with the rest of these machines. Don't let a single one into the city." She glared at the approaching centaur and charged, cutting down several more wasp droids as she did. Once she was through the horde of machine, she charged at Tirek and the Sith General smirked at the sight of her.
"Ahh. Grandmaster Celestia. So nice to see you again."
Celestia frowned and noticed that Tirek wasn't wearing anything to protect him from the gas. "How are you still awake? Don't tell me you're immune to the toxin."
"Of course I am," Tirek laughed. "What fool creates a sleeping toxin and doesn't make sure they're immune to it? Now I can rampage and feast on the sleeping inhabitants inside."
"You won't be feasting on anyone in that city," Celestia told him. "For one, none of them are Jedi."
"You don't need to be a Jedi to be strong in the Force." Tirek laughed. "And even if they're not strongly connected, all living things have some connection to The Force."
"You really intend to feed on the non-Force users?" Celestia frowned. "That would be like trying to survive on a single bean sprout."
"Maybe. But a few thousand beans is still rather filling." He licked his lips, "I can't wait to taste them all."
Celestia glared at him. "You're not getting anywhere near those people. I won't let you." She pointed her weapon at the centaur. "Your reign of terror ends now." Tirek smiled and held up his weapons, ready to fight. The two then charged at full speed, swinging their blades at the other and clashing with a mighty flash of light.
Under the sea, Twilight and Tidal were riding within a Gungan scuba ship towards the bottom of a deep sea trench.
There, they hoped to find the temple that held the final relic key. And if they could find it and get it away from the Sith, they would be able to save Naboo from being attacked. But the Sith's new Ray Droids were already causing issues, as a couple of them had chased them down into the trench.
Twilight looked up and saw them approaching, the lot unleashing shots from their mouth blasters that the pair had to avoid. "How are they able to handle the pressure at this depth?"
"Whoever made them, certainly knew what they were doing." Tidal pulled the ship around to avoid a laser, whilst another charged and was ready to use its spinning whip-like tail to cut their ship to pieces. "Twilight. Keep it away from us!" Twilight nodded and as it got closer, she held her hand out and the droid's tail was suddenly pulled in the opposite direction.
The droid felt this and tried to pull hard, but Twilight kept her hold on the machine and pushed harder. And eventually, the droid's tail ripped off and the machine went flying off at high speed.
Tidal was able to avoid it as it flew into the side of the trench, exploding. But the other droids continued their attack and kept firing. Tidal did his best, but a few hits managed to land on the sub and cause it to shake out of control.
Twilight cried out, holding onto her seat tight. She then focused and tried to grab the droids, but they kept moving around too much for her to get a lock on them. And then, as she looked up, she saw something new coming down from the opening of the trench.
She couldn't tell what it was at first, but slowly managed to recognise it as it got closer. And when she realised what it was, she gasped. "Solara!" Tidal looked up and saw the Sith as well, swimming down using an aqua scooter to get ahead of them.
"How is she alive down here? The pressure should be crushing her."
Solara looked around, her masked face spotting them and locking in on Twilight. The pair stared one another down before Solara continued down towards the bottom, as the droids kept attacking. "Hold on!" Tidal yelled, moving the sub around to dodge their attacks. Two of the droids even slammed into one another, exploding as the sub dived down after Solara.
And eventually, they managed to reach the bottom of the trench and Twilight used the ship's echo location to scan the area around them. And soon enough, they found a structure up ahead. "Go!" Twilight cried, as more droids approached them. They raced against Solara, who was heading in the same direction.
Solara then pointed her hand at the sub and pushed, sending the ship spinning out of control towards the far wall.
Tidal did his best to keep them from crashing, but this allowed the Ray Droids to swim up to them and attack with their tails. One slammed their tail down on the ship's wing, causing the metal covering it to shred apart until Twilight Forced the droid away.
As this was happening, Solara finally reached the temple.
It looked like an ancient Greek temple, which was sticking out the wall of the trench. She quickly realised that the true temple was actually inside the trench wall itself, whilst this was just the entrance. But when she reached the front of it, she couldn't find a door or anything that would help her get in.
Twilight and Tidal were quickly approaching, the droids hot on their tail, so she quickly looked round until she found something in front of the temple. At first, she thought it was just a patch of sea grass. But as she swam past it, her aqua scooter caused a current that blew the grass around and revealed there was actually a large hole in front of the temple.
The grass was growing out of the hole and hid it from view, Solara quickly released her scooter and reached for her Lightsaber.
But before she could ignite it, she remembered that her device wasn't waterproof. If she used it, it would short out and be useless until she fixed it. As such, she had no choice but to start pulling on the grass to try and rip it out and make a hole for her to get through.
It took a lot of effort, but she managed to tear it out of the ground and throw it away. A large hole soon revealed the tunnel, which Solara used to fly her scooter down.
Tidal and Twilight noticed this and both gasped, realising Solara was getting ahead of them. If they didn't find a way to stop these ray droids, Solara would get the relic before them.
Back in the sky, Flash and Armalum's air battle continued to rage.
The two appeared evenly matched. Flash's ship had better mobility, whilst Armalum's had better speed. And since he was a robot, his reaction time was much better than that of the bug troopers. As such, he was able to move at higher speeds with greater precision.
The two spun around one another, attempting to blast at the other with little success.
Flash did another barrel roll to avoid several lasers and as he straightened out, Springer began to target Armalum's ship before firing something from beneath the ship. A tow line, which connected to Armalum's ship and caused the pair to be joined.
"Time to see which ship is stronger!" Flash pushed his Delta-X to max speed and pulled on the line, the sudden pull causing Armalum's ship to jerk and go out of control. Flash then tried to fly in circles around the ship, hoping to wrap the cable around it before pulling and causing him to spin out of control.
But Armalum wasn't going to let that happen and managed to barrel roll so the rope didn't wrap around his ship, then pushed his vessel forward and caused it to pull on the rope itself.
The two ships began to pull against one another, as they tried to overpower the other. Armalum's speed gave him the edge for the most part, but Flash's engines pumped out more power and the two appeared to be at a stalemate. The rope was strong and wouldn't likely give in to the pressure, as the two ships found themselves flying downwards in a circle.
At one point, Flash tilted the ship around and fired at Armalum, hitting several spots on his fighter. But Armalum replied in kind and fired back, also hitting some areas of Flash's ship.
They kept spiralling downwards towards the ground, with only Springer noticing they were about to crash. And that gave him an idea.
Before Flash could try anything else, Springer took control of the ship and pulled up. At the same time, he disconnected the chord and Armalum's fighter suddenly shot out of control. The droid found himself moving towards the ground, losing control and unable to pull up in time.
But before he could smash into the ground, he fired one final laser in Flash's direction.
It smashed into Flash's thruster and exploded, causing Flash's ship to lose power. "We're going down!" Flash retook control and began to drop towards the ground, as Springer prepared evacuation procedures.
"Don't forget about the gas," he told Flash before parts of his cockpit started moving around. Flash soon found himself getting a breathing suit placed on his body. Gloves attached to his hands, the metal boot bottoms connected to his feet and a mask was placed around his head.
The force fields powered up, as the ground was coming up fast. And at the last moment, Flash felt himself ejecting from the cockpit whilst Springer flew up and out of the ship. Flash felt himself fly upwards, as his ship smashed into the ground below. And as he began to fall, he pulled the chord on a backpack he found he was wearing.
A parachute extended and Flash's fall was quickly broken, allowing him to fall safely towards the ground.
At the same time, Springer was flying beside him using his max power hoverskirt. But Flash quickly grabbed him so he didn't waste power, the pair holding onto one another as they headed for the ground.
Back at the actual battle, Shining, Rainbow and Spitfire were still fighting their way through the squad of bug fighters.
The Naboo pilots were clearly the least skilled when it came to air to air combat, as they were slowly getting picked off whilst the Jedi were dealing with the troopers. But even the Jedi weren't immune to getting hit, as Rainbow soon learned.
She shot down one of the fighters, only to suddenly get hit by another's laser. The hit hadn't done much damage, but Rainbow's console quickly gave her a warning. Her power supply had been damaged and was losing energy.
"Rainbow to Spitfire. My energy bank's been hit. I'm losing power."
"Better land," her master told her. "It looks like they could use some help on the ground anyway." Rainbow looked down and sure enough, Pinkie did seem to be having trouble all on her own near the gate. Though the robots weren't that large in number, there were still a good few of them and Pinkie was obviously beginning to tire.
"Got it." She flew back down, using whatever power she had left to blast as many Sith fighters as she could.
She aimed her ship towards the crowd of droids and as soon as the Delta-X was primed to crash, she hit the eject button. The mask, gloves and boots connected to her and she was shot out of the cockpit, right as the ship smashed into the first group of droids.
It bounced around, crushing a bunch of them as Rainbow spun through the air.
She then drew her Lightsabers and ignited them both, slashing at the droids that were still standing until she landed on the ground. She moved like a blur, the light from her blades trailing behind her as she slashed and gutted the machines like a mad woman.
It wasn't long before she reached Pinkie's spot, the speed based Jedi ducking under the girl's whip until she was right beside her. "You okay?"
"Couldn't be better. Especially now that you're here to help." Pinkie cracked her whip and cut through the front of a battle droid, as Rainbow deflected the shots of several more. Together, the pair were more than a match for these hunks of junk. "Did you see how Celestia was doing from up there?"
"Sorry," Rainbow shook her head, "didn't see her. But I'm sure she's fine."
Celestia was fine, for the moment.
She and Tirek continued their fight further along the battlefield. Tirek's larger form gave him more power, but Celestia was faster and able to easily counter his four blades as the centaur attacked with them. But she also couldn't get a clean shot in on him, the horse man galloping around as she did her best to keep him from getting behind her.
"Give it up!" Tirek roared. "You can't hope to defeat me!"
"I was able to go toe to toe with your master," she pointed out. "I think I can handle you, no problem." Tirek growled and crossed two of his blades before swinging them down, Celestia catching them with her own.
"He is not my master. And he isn't stronger than me."
"Oh, I'm sorry." Celestia pushed him back, Tirek finding himself taking a step back. "I just assumed because why else would he be giving the orders?" She managed to overpower him and Tirek was almost thrown off his hooves, but managed to stay upright as he glared at Celestia.
"Sombra might act like he's the one in charge. But he is nothing more than a puppet. Someone who sits in the chair and lets others think he's the one making the demands. But the fact is, he's only in that chair because he's what everyone thinks is a Sith lord."
Celestia gave him a curious look. "What are you saying? Is there someone else? Someone stronger, who Sombra is hiding behind his back? Who are they?"
Tirek smirked, "why should I tell you that?" He galloped forward, swinging his blades around in a random way that Celestia was barely able to follow. This news made Celestia ponder how much about the Sith they didn't know. If she couldn't learn the truth behind this mysterious new Sith, she could find herself walking into a trap.
Back underwater, the gungan warrior Sclash was fighting against a bunch of ray droids outside of the trench.
The humanoid lizard managed to avoid one droid's blast, as another swung its spinning metal tail towards him. But clearly, whoever designed these machines had little experience with underwater physics. Above water, it probably would have been very dangerous. But under the waves, the movement speed of the tail wasn't that fast.
Sclash still barely managed to avoid it, though, as he thrust the end of his electro staff into the droid and short circuited it. It pushed the droid away, only to find more of them approaching him from within the murky depths.
They continued to fire their lasers, Sclash doing his best to avoid them. He could only hope that his efforts were not in vain and the Jedi were able to get into the temple they were looking for.
And sure enough, down in the tench, Tidal and Twilight continued to avoid the Ray Droids outside the temple.
Only three of them were left, as the others had all been dealt with. But these ones seemed to be the trickiest, as they kept moving around to avoid getting caught by the Jedi's Force powers. "Down!" Twilight cried, as Tidal made the sub dive beneath a ray's laser blast.
The two dodged the other's attacks and as they did, they got close to the hole that likely led into the temple. "I'm gonna gun it!"
"But the grass might clog the engine!" Twilight's words landed on deaf ears, as Tidal dived down into the hole. It was just large enough for the ship to fit inside and the Jedi soon found their vision was clogged by seaweed. And as they got close to the bottom, Tidal pulled up and the ship swerved.
By some miracle, they moved away seconds before they hit the bottom and found themselves going into a tunnel.
The droids tried to follow, but quickly got caught up in the seaweed. And realising this was likely their best bet to get rid of them, Twilight looked back and grabbed them all in The Force before crushing their wings and tails.
They continued down the tunnel until they saw it bend upwards, the pair heading in that direction whilst wondering how far Solara had gotten into the temple.
"There's no way she has more oxygen than us," Tidal stated. "She'll be forced to rush and make a-" He didn't get to finish, as a light suddenly caught his attention at the end of the tunnel. And as they got closer, Tidal realised what it was and quickly stopped the sub's engines.
The sub slowed down, but began to float upwards until they hit the light. And the next thing they knew, they were breaking through the surface of a pool of water. Had they not stopped, they would have flown out of it and possibly crashed.
Twilight and Tidal looked around, seeing they were inside the temple. They were in a large pool that took up almost all the floor space in the temple, Tidal quickly doing a scan of the environment. "Air's breathable." He and Twilight nodded before he hit the canopy controls, causing it to open up and allowing them to take a deep breath of fresh air.
"I can't believe there's breathable air in here," Twilight looked around and spotted Solara's aqua scooter. But there was no sign of her. "She must have gone further into the temple." Twilight got up and leapt out of the sub, landing on the edge of the pool but almost slipping on the wet surface.
Tidal jumped out as well, though he didn't slip, as he took out his Lightsaber staff. "Be ready. There's no telling what could be waiting for us in this temple." Twilight nodded and took out her Lightsaber, the pair spotting a doorway and heading towards it.
It was open and didn't have any kind of lock or way of undoing it. "Strange. The last two temples were locked."
"They must have assumed nobody would find this place," Tidal stated. "Or maybe, they made us want to get in here." Twilight wondered why someone would want them to enter a secret temple holding a Sith Relic. But as they stepped through the entry way into a long tunnel, they started hearing sounds
"What's that?" Twilight asked, as they listened and heard a familiar buzzing and lightning crack sound.
"That's a Lightsaber!" Tidal realised, "fighting against something." They both instantly knew whose Lightsaber they were hearing and they rushed forward, arriving at the end of the tunnel and being surprised by what they saw.
Solara was fighting against a gungan. Or something designed to be a gungan.
It was a stone statue twice the size of a regular gungan, armed with a staff that it swung about. When Solara struck it with her Lightsaber, the laser bounced off the stone. The stone was burned, but it was clearly made of a material that was resistant to heat.
Solara leapt away from the statue and tried to push it back with The Force. But the statue was able to brace itself and keep itself from getting pushed back.
As this happened, Solara happened to glance around and spotted the two. "Oh, great." She didn't have time to say anything else, because the stone warrior attacked her and she had to defend. "Don't just stand there!"
"I think we will stand here," Tidal laughed. "Watching this is kind of fun."
"You won't find it fun when you get crushed!" They wondered what she meant, until they felt the ground shake and a presence behind them. When they looked around, they were greeted with the sight of two gungan statues right behind them.
"WOW!" They both leapt away before the statues could crush them, both raising their Lightsabers to defend as the statues swung them around. Twilight leapt under hers whilst Tidal used the staff of his weapon to block, the impact pushing him backwards as he did.
The three Force users all had to leapt around the chamber, avoiding the statues as best they could. Twilight then noticed a door at the back of the room, with a lock of some kind that they would need to open. But before that, they had to stop these statues.
Back above ground, Flash and Springer had landed back on the ground.
Their Delta-X was a wreck and the pair were miles away from anywhere. The only hope they had was to get back to the capital city, even if it was several miles away. Luckily, they had landed in a rather flat section of the Naboo countryside. They were walking through the grass, Flash using his gauntlet to navigate their way back to the city.
"What do you think happened to Armalum?" Springer asked, as the droid floated beside him.
Flash wasn't sure how to answer that question. "Hopefully, he's a wreck like his ship probably is. If he hadn't crashed, he probably would have already found us and gunned us down." Springer nodded, as Flash kept staring at his gauntlet.
But even as he did, he couldn't help but wonder about Armalum. The droid was quite the enigma. It wasn't just his incredible fighting skill, which was clearly due to how well he was designed and programmed. The real issue was his ability to use The Force, which should have been impossible.
As they made their way across the fields, Flash could hear explosions and other sounds off in the distance.
"Sounds like the battle's getting more intense," Springer stated. "You think the others are gonna be okay?" Flash frowned, unsure how to answer that. He wanted to think his friends would be safe, but he also knew any one of them could be seriously injured. They were facing a seriously dangerous opponent. He would be a fool if he didn't think they would come out of this unscathed.
He was so focused on worrying about his friends, his focus wasn't on his surroundings. And as he walked into an area that had several large rocks filling the meadow, he barely registered a presence that was approaching.
"FLASH!" Springer then yelled, pulling Flash completely out of his daydreams and allowing him to zero in on the presence. And in the blink of an eye, he leapt back with a red Lightsaber flying in front of him.
Armalum had leapt out from behind a rock and had almost cut him in half. The droid turned to him, as Flash drew his own weapons and ignited it. "Springer, stay back!" The droid flew away, as Flash and Armalum pointed their weapons at one another.
Flash felt a slight twinge of panic within his heart. He hadn't fought a Sith solo since his first meeting with Solara. And if Armalum was stronger than her, Flash might be in trouble.
Back at the city, Rainbow and Pinkie kept fighting against the droids.
They were beginning to thin out in number, with Rainbow continuing to slash at them at high speed. Pinkie kept dancing around, twirling her whip like a ribbon that could slice through anything. She flicked it towards a battle droid, the whip wrapping around the robot and causing it to be completely destroyed as she pulled it back.
Rainbow dodged a scorpion droid's tail blast and leapt up onto the machine's back, slicing her saber through its blaster tail before piercing the other one into its head.
The droid collapsed, as Rainbow leapt off its back.
She wanted to run off and destroy some more, but she couldn't risk any getting past her. If even one managed to enter the city, it would be a serious problem. As such, she returned to the gate with Pinkie and the girls kept fighting as best they could. All the while, Rainbow kept her focus split between the fight and the fighters in the sky.
Shining managed to destroy another ship, only to see two more Naboo fighters getting destroyed. They were running out of fighter on their side.
He quickly pulled his ship around to avoid a laser shot and fired his own, whilst Spitfire shot past and gunned down another bug trooper. And as another Naboo fighter was shot down, the two spotted a trio of fighters attempting to get over the city wall.
Not sure what those fighters were planning, Shining opened up a com to Spitfire. "Stop those ships. I'll deal with the rest of these." Spitfire nodded and flew off after the ships, as Shining barrel rolled around another laser attack. He gunned down another fighter, but realised there were still more ships on the Sith's side than his. "This isn't getting any easier."
Spitfire chased the ship towards the city. Due to the bug fighters having greater speed than her Delta-X, she was trailing behind them. She tried to shoot them down, but they managed to avoid the lasers as they got into the city. And to her shock, the fighters started shooting down onto the street.
"NO!" She cried, hearing an explosion and fearing what might be happening down on the streets. So many people, fast asleep and unable to save themselves from the destruction. Spitfire growled and pushed her ship to the max of its speed.
Since the fighters had slowed down to get more shots in on the city, she was able to close the gap between them.
She quickly opened fire and destroyed one of the fighters, but this caused the other two to become aware of her. At the very least, it had stopped them from raining death from the sky. Instead, they split up and flew in different directions.
Spitfire chased after one, curving around a building that another had flown around. She gave chase, able to catch up thanks to the bug fighter staying at slow speed to keep them from losing control in the city. As soon as she got it in sight, she opened fire and the lasers slammed into the back of the fighter.
The fireball that followed, obscured her vision for a moment. She flew straight up, not wanting to accidentally crash into a building. But as soon as she was out of the smoke, she suddenly bombarded with lasers. "Wow!" She rolled away, as the final bug fighter shot past him. "Not cool!"
The two levelled out and Spitfire saw the enemy was right on her tail, her astro mech stating that the firepower is far greater than hers.
"Doesn't matter if he can't hit me!" She flicked several switches and suddenly, smoke flew out the back of her ship. It blinded the changeling and as this was happening, Spitfire killed the propulsion and let the ship fly past her. As soon as it did, she locked on and fired.
The ship tried to avoid the incoming attack, but wasn't fast enough. The lasers ripped through the machine and it exploded, the debris falling towards the ground.
Spitfire looked down and saw the area it would land in was empty, the Jedi sighing in relief. But then she looked around and saw the damage done to the rest of the city. There wasn't much in the grand scheme of things, but Spitfire knew lives had just been lost.
"Damn it!" She hit her console, frustration getting the better of her. She knew when this all started, that lives would be lost. But she didn't think something like this would happen. It was one thing to lose your life, fighting to protect the things you loved. But dying in one's sleep. There was nothing honourable about that. "Those Sith are gonna pay!" She flew back towards the battle, but would remain flying over the city. If any more fighters tried to get past the walls, she would be there to stop them.
Celestia blocked another of Tirek's slashes before leaping back, the Omni spreading her wings to stay aloft as she thrust her hands forward.
Tirek suddenly felt himself getting pushed backwards, but managed to keep his hooves firmly in the ground. This caused four lines of mud to be formed, as he dug up the soil before finally coming to a stop. As he did, he chuckled before smiling at Celestia. "That's why the Jedi will fall."
"What?" Celestia frowned, wondering what the heck this psycho was talking about.
"Just then. All you could do was push me backwards. Because you Jedi are too scared of using actual power. If I had been fighting Sombra, he would have blasted me with lightning or force choked me. But all you can do is push your opponent away. So pathetic."
Celestia frowned. "You think I'm weak, because I choose not to let The Dark Side dictate my actions?"
"Of course. They call you the grand master. But what can you actually do that makes you so special? You've seen what Sombra can do. I hate to admit it, but he's strong. All his abilities make him a force to be reckoned with. One that not even you and three others could overcome."
Celestia sighed. "My abilities might not be combat oriented, but that doesn't mean I don't have some form of power other Jedi don't have. I just see no reason to use it at this moment."
"Bet they're lame," Tirek chuckled. "Face it. The Dark Side of the force is where the true power lies." Suddenly, his horns began to spark before he roared and unleashed a blast of lightning. Celestia managed to block it, but was clearly taken by surprise. "See. Bet you wish you could use this, huh!?"
Celestia finally deflected the light, but didn't look impressed. "You do realise that Jedi have the ability to use lightning, right?" Tirek frowned, clearly not believing her. "The same way we're able to heal and cure diseases. Abilities that are more powerful than anything a Sith can use. Not every Jedi can use every power, but our versions are always more powerful than anything the Sith can imitate."
"You expect me to believe that?"
"I don't care if you believe it," Celestia prepared for another attack. "All I care about, is stopping you from hurting any more innocent people." With that, she charged forward and swung her Lightsaber towards him. Tirek blocked and the pair continued to fight, neither side willing to give an inch against the other.
Back in the ocean, Sclash kept doing battle against the ray droids and was starting to get tired.
The gungan zapped another one, but more surrounded him and fired their lasers at him. As such, all he could do was avoid them as he tried to get close enough to electrocute more. But as he approached another, it suddenly swung around and its tail sliced through the water.
He barely saw it coming and raised his weapon, as it cut through the electro staff and left him defenceless.
The rays started firing at him and he was forced to swim away. But the droids were faster and one managed to tackle him, pushing him downwards until he crashed into the seafloor beside the trench. Sclash gasped and tried to get up, but the ray was pinning him down and he couldn't move.
Another ray prepared to fire its blaster at him, making Sclash gulp. Clearly, he was in serious trouble.
But before it could fire, another electro staff was slammed into his back and shot circuited it. Sclash saw this and looked over to where the staff had come from, as a smirk appeared on his lips. The gungans had arrived.
Many soldiers, some swimming but most riding in underwater vehicles, had come to Sclash's defence.
The one that had thrown an electro staff, recovered his weapon and swam down towards Sclash. As he did, a sub fired a cable that the gungan caught before hooking onto the back of the ray. The sub then pulled it off Sclash, allowing the gungan to stab his staff into it.
The machine died, as Sclash got up and nodded his thanks to the others. But they didn't have time to celebrate. As more ray droids were attacking.
The gungan all prepared to do battle, one throwing Sclash another staff, as the rays began to fire. The fight was one, with Sclash looking back at the trench and wondering what was happening down there.
Back in the temple, Twilight and Solara somehow ended up back to back as the gungan guards attacked.
"Duck!" Twilight cried, as she ducked down to avoid the stone staff of the gungan in front of her. Solara did the same, the staff narrowly missing their heads as Twilight ran forward and stabbed her blade at the chest of the statue. The top of her blade hit the stone, but it didn't melt into it like it normally would.
Instead, the blade pushed against the stone and burned it before the force of Twilight's thrust caused it to slide along the stone. This made a line of black form on the statue, as Twilight pulled away from it. As she did, Solara charged at her statue and sliced at its leg.
The red blade bounced off the limb, as she spun around to avoid her own sword hitting her arm.
She was soon behind the statue, once again attempting to stab it with little luck. "Damn it! What are these things made of!?"
Tidal wasn't having much luck, either. He was spinning his staff around in an attempt to confuse the statue, but this did little to disorientate the creature. Instead, he leapt up and swung one of the crossguard blades into the statue with little success in damaging it.
"There's gotta be more to this than taking them down." Tidal noticed other statues lining the wall and had a feeling that if they managed to defeat the ones fighting them, more would come alive and attack. "Gotta think. What's the point of all this?"
He looked around, trying to figure out what needed to be done to stop these attacks. All the while avoiding the statue that was trying to kill him. Then, his eyes fell on the lock at the back of the room.
Slowly, an idea formed in his head. "This is just a distraction!" He jumped to avoid getting crushed under the stone staff, the Jedi landing and running up it until he reached the statue's neck. And when he got there, he slashed at it with his main blade. "Twilight. The lock is the goal. These things are just a distraction."
"What?" Twilight asked, as she rolled away from them. "What are you talking about?"
"I think he's right," Solara stated. "These things are practically impossible to defeat. They must be here to stop us from trying to solve the lock."
"Okay," Twilight nodded. "So what? It's not like I can open the lock whilst being attacked!" Solara sighed, knowing she was right. They only had one option.
She reached out and grabbed Twilight in The Force before throwing her away from the statue, making her cry out as she was slammed into the wall next to the lock. "Open it! I'll keep you safe." Twilight looked at her in shock, as Solara leapt into the air and performed a spin slash at the one Twilight had been fighting against.
This knocked the statue back, as Solara returned her focus to the other statue and attacked it as well.
Twilight realised Solara was actually planning on protecting her, which made her think the girl she hoped really existed was coming to the surface. As such, Twilight turned to the lock and took its design into account. She slowly understood how it worked, as it was a combo of stone and glass.
It was a stone maze with a bunch of holes in certain areas, each hole being painted a different colour. There were also a bunch of small stone balls located in different parts of the maze, each one also painted a different colour.
It was then that she realised what she had to do and using The Force, she rolled the red ball through the maze towards the red hole. As she did, a statue got close to her and almost grabbed her. But Solara managed to roll under its wrist and kick it away from Twilight.
Tidal had managed to get past his statue and leapt over the others, landing next to Solara with the two Force Pushing the statues away.
Twilight managed to move most of the balls through the maze until she got them into their assigned holes, which caused a clicking noise to sound every time it happened. But she soon found herself with a problem, as she still had a green and yellow ball to put into place.
The only issue was that the whole they were supposed to go into, didn't have a colour around them.
She could only guess they had faded from time, which meant there was no way to know which ball went in which hole. And she didn't want to know what would happen if she put them in the wrong hole. "Twilight!" Tidal cried, "we can't keep this up much longer! How much longer?"
"I'm almost done!" Twilight cried, as she moved the balls over to the colourless holes. She reached a fork in the maze leading to each hole, which meant this was when she had to guess which ball went in which hole. And if she got it wrong, they may very well never get out of there alive.
"This one!" She finally cried, moving a ball down one tunnel and the other down another. The balls rolled through the maze and finally reached the holes, Twilight bracing herself for what might happen.
The balls entered the holes and clicked into place, Twilight watching and waiting in terror. But then, the maze began to spin before the whole wall suddenly opened. "Hurry!" Twilight passed through the doorway and could hear a clicking noise, likely a time limit for the door.
Solara jumped back and ran through the door as well. But then, as Tidal tried to get through the door, Solara spun around and Force Pushed him backwards.
He gasped, as he was thrown away from the door right as the clicking stopped. "TIDAL!" Twilight gasped, as the door suddenly rose again and Tidal was trapped on the other side. "NO!" She ran for the door, trying to see if she could find a way through.
The sound of a Lightsaber then caught her attention and she looked back around, the sight of Solara with her Lightsaber pointed at her being what she found. Twilight pointed her own blade back at Solara, the two clearly ready to fight if needs be.
"Why?" Twilight asked.
"Beating the two of you would have been a lot harder. But defeating you will be much easier."
"You don't have to do this," Twilight told her. "Please. Celestia won't let the council execute you if they don't have to. Give yourself up and you can make a better life for yourself."
"Not this again. Even if I survive, what kind of life would I live if I surrendered? Spending the rest of my life in a Jedi cell? No thank you!" She charged forward and Twilight knew she had only one card left to play.
She raised her Lightsaber and blocked Solara's, the two now inches from one another. "YOU'RE CELESTIA'S DAUGHTER!" That statement caused Solara to suddenly freeze, allowing Twilight to push her back. The Sith staggered back, but kept her balance as she stared at Twilight.
"What?"
"Twilight!" Tidal tried to push the door open again, but it refused to move. And the balls Twilight had moved hadn't returned, which meant he couldn't unlock the door.
Tidal quickly found himself getting surrounded by the three giants, which were now all focusing their attention on him. And as he turned to them, he found there wasn't any way past them. So, seeing no other option, Tidal summoned all his strength and unleashed a mighty powerful Force Push.
The impact sent all of the statues staggering back, allowing Tidal to run forward and jump past them.
Once he was behind the group, he turned back towards them as he spun his Trident-like Lightsaber staff. They all glared at him and Tidal got ready to fight. He knew Twilight was likely in trouble, but he wouldn't be able to help her until he got past these things.
Back with Flash, the Padawan stared Armalum down and glared at him. Armalum couldn't glare, but Flash had a feeling he wanted to as they waited for the first strike.
As they stood there, Flash wondered if he could kill time and give his friends a chance to maybe show up and save him. As such, he decided to see if he could get answers to his earlier question. "Before we do this, I gotta know. What are you?"
"Excuse me?"
"You look like a droid, but you can use The Force. How the heck does that work? Are you some kind of cyborg? Were you once a flesh and blood person that got into an accident? If I broke away the armor on your body, would I find a bunch of organs hidden underneath?"
"I am no cyborg," Armalum growled. "You dare call me such a thing."
"Then what the heck are you?" Flash asked. "Because The Force can only be controlled by living things. If you can use it, that means you can't be a droid. So what are you?"
"What I am is inconsequential." He raised his sword. "All you need know, is that I am the one who will bring about your end. Prepare to die!" With that, he rushed forward and Flash prepared his broadsaber to defend. The red and blue blades clashed and Flash found himself overpowered by the mechanical strength Armalum possessed.
He leapt back and Armalum remained on the attack, charging forward and swinging his blade around at the Padawan.
Flash could do nothing but block and dodge the attacks, trying his best to keep himself from tripping over. He knew Armalum's mechanical systems were likely analysing the fight, waiting for Flash to make a mistake he could capitalise on. And sure enough, Flash found himself tripping over a rock that sent him staggering off his feet.
He fell to the ground, his Lightsaber falling from his hand. He grunted, as Armalum raised his sword to strike the young warrior down. But before he could, a laser shot down and almost hit him.
He jumped back, looking up and seeing Springer floating a good distance away. The little dog droid fired at him again, but Armalum was able to block it. This allowed Flash to get back to his feet, as Armalum's attention was drawn away from him. Flash then summoned his Lightsaber and went on the attack, Armalum now finding himself forced into a defensive battle stance.
Flash aimed for his legs and arms, trying to disable him with as little damage as possible. If he was a robot, the Jedi would get some serious intel out of him.
But Armalum clearly caught on to Flash's intention and began to protect his arms and legs before leaping back. He jumped up onto the top of the large rock he had hidden behind, as something folded out of his arm.
That something was a laser pistol, which he started firing at Flash.
The teen blocked the attacks as best he could, deflecting them in multiple different directions whilst Springer flew in closer to fire at him as well. Armalum blocked Springer's lasers and as he did, he suddenly swung his arm around and fired at him.
"Springer, look out!" But Springer couldn't escape in time and the laser slammed into him. "NO!" Flash watched in horror, as Springer's side blew apart and he fell to the ground. He crashed into the ground, the lights in his eyes flickering as the damage was clearly serious.
Flash ran to him and Armalum used this to fire more lasers at him.
The Padawan barely managed to avoid the first few and blocked the rest, but every second he did felt like an eternity. He glanced back at Springer and knew if he didn't put Springer into a protective lockdown state, he could lose his core consciousness and never be the same.
He glanced back at Armalum, anger filling his body at seeing his friend getting hurt. And as Armalum stopped to recharge his blaster, Flash dug deep. "RAAAAAAAAAAH!" He thrust his hand forward, unleashing the strongest Force Push he had ever done.
Armalum suddenly found himself getting shoved backwards, crying out as he was thrown several hundred feet away.
Flash was suddenly overwhelmed with exhaustion, but staggered over to Springer and checked him over. The first thing he did was lock his mind down, then he inspected the damage. And a sigh escaped his lips, seeing that it wasn't that bad. "Hold on, bud. I'll get you fixed up as soon as I can."
Movement behind Flash made him look around and see Armalum was picking himself up.
The droid had fallen into an area of the meadow full of tall grass almost half his height. Flash watched him walking forward and got up himself, the Jedi Padawan reigniting his sword as he got closer. The two glared one another down, as Flash entered the tall grass himself.
They remained still for a moment or two, then charged forward. No matter what, they had every intention of wiping the other out. And in other areas of Naboo, fights were also going on. Nobody knew which side would come out on top. But eventually, one would claim victory over the other. Naboo's very future, would be decided on this day.
Author's Note
Well that was certainly eventful. A bunch of things happening all over the shop. How will things turn out? Only time will tell.
