Previous ChapterNext Chapter

The Jedi Mission to save the slaves being held by the Sith was underway.

In the ground based Destroyer, the Jedi had managed to make their way inside through an access hatch. But Rainbow Dash, Spitfire, Heather Bloom, Iron Core and Trixie were currently having a bit of an issue. Mainly, Applejack.

"Push!" Heather told Trixie, who was stuck behind the large cow girl alien as the hatch she was in was a little too tight for her buff frame.

"I am pushing," Trixie cried as she slammed into Applejack's rear end. "She went in the other way. Why is the exit so much smaller?"

"Don't ask me!" Applejack groaned, as her mentor was currently pulling on her arms. "A'h felt a bit of a tight squeeze when a'h was shimming through it."

"This thing was built for a bug trooper," Heather stated. "Not someone as large as you." As this was happening, the others were keeping an eye out for anyone that might hear them. The ship was full of bug troopers, ready to take them down the second they got a chance.

"Hurry up," Iron told them. "The guard's probably gonna be back any minute."

"You could help!" Heather cried, only to finally feel Applejack's waist slid out from the tunnel. She and Applejack yelped, as they both fell to the ground and Trixie was free to climb in behind them.

"Finally," Trixie sighed. "Next time we do this, I'm at the front so I don't get stuck behind anyone."

"Alright," Spitfire spoke up. "We all know what we gotta do. Find the bridge and take it over. Then we can fly this bad boy over to the camp and get everyone out of here."

"Is it really gonna be that easy?" Rainbow asked. "This thing's jam packed with bug troopers. Are we really gonna be able to take this thing over with them inside?"

"She's right," Heather nodded. "Even if we take the bridge, they might be able to take control back from the engine room. And there isn't enough of us to take control of both the bridge and the engine room."

They frowned, wishing they had actually come up with some kind of plan. But then, Trixie had an idea. "The atmospheric control systems."

"What about them?" Iron asked.

"We take over the bridge and as soon as we do, we use the atmosphere controls to release something into the ship. A gas the changelings wouldn't be able to breathe. They'll be forced to evacuate."

"But we don't know what the changelings can and can't breathe," Applejack pointed out.

"Then we'll try everything until they leave," Spitfire stated. "But we'll need to be careful we don't gas ourselves. And when we get control of the ship, we'll need to vent the chemicals out so we don't hurt the people we save. That could work."

"Then let's get to the bridge," Iron stated. Everyone nodded and they started running through the halls, keeping an eye out for bug troopers as they ran as fast as they could. And it didn't take long before they ran into a bunch of the insectoid soldiers.

"Halt!" The one who spotted them yelled, pointing his blast at them and trying to fire. But the Jedi quickly deflected with their Lightsabers as Rainbow and Spitfire ran forward at high speed.

In the blink of an eye, the changelings found their weapons getting cut in half before they were thrown backwards by The Force. They were soon all knocked down, as Rainbow and the others began to pass them by.

Outside the ship, Luna and Skybreaker were working on getting the ship ready for take off.

The Masters had finally managed to unlock one of the towers holding the ship up off the ground, the pair grabbing the valve and turning it. That valve was rather right, Luna needing to use all her Omni strength in order to get it turning. Doing so caused the large screw holding the ship to turn and retract.

Eventually, it was out and Skybreaker was able to slide a cover for the hole it left into place. "One down," he looked at the others and sighed, "Five to go."

"Come on," Luna spread her wings. "We don't have time to complain. We need to get this thing ready to fly as fast as possible." However, as they flew towards the next tower, they suddenly found themselves under fire. "What?" They dodged the lasers and turned to see a swarm of wasp droids, buzzing towards them and firing lasers.

Skybreaker was the first to activate his double-edged saber, spinning it around to deflect the lasers. Luna activated her split-saber and did the same, but Skybreaker shook his head. "Go to the next tower and get it disconnected. I'll deal with these things. Go!"

Luna nodded and after deflecting a pair of lasers back at the droids, she flew towards the tower. But when she got there, she found several battle droids had somehow climbed the tower and were shooting at her. She was forced to disconnect her blades and start fighting them, landing at the bottom and fighting her way up.

She knew she could just fly her way up to the top, but that would box her in for the droids to shoot her. "Bring it on, you pieces of scrap." She cut them down as she descended the stairs, blocking several shots before using The Force to pull one of them down the stairs.

This caused it to lose its balance and fall down into the next droid, which was also knocked down. Soon, the droids were slamming into one another and falling down the stairs.

Luna jumped up and flew over them, as they broke apart every time they hit a step. By the time they reached the bottom, they were completely destroyed. Luna smirked at this and flew up to the controls, the Omni repeating what Skybreaker had shown her. All the while, the half Equestrian fought to protect her from the wasp droids.

Meanwhile, at the camp, Cadance and her team were staring down Chrysalis and Tirek.

The pair smiled at the group, as their changeling and droid army stepped up around them. "This doesn't have to be a bloodbath," Tirek stated. "Simply throw down your weapons and surrender. We promise we'll be fair to you. With your Force Abilities, slave work will be much easier."

"Counter suggestion," Ruby stated. "You throw down your weapons and we don't destroy them for you. Then come with us to Canterlot and stand trial for everything you've done. I'm sure The Republic will be lenient."

Tirek sighed. "It seems communications have broken down." He raised both his Lightsabers. "Nothing left to do except see which of us comes out on top."

Chrysalis said nothing and was more focused on Thorax, her son staring at her with nothing but anger in his eyes. It was clear her son would not come willingly. "Enough of this." She pointed at the Jedi, "ATTACK!" The changelings began to charge and fire at them, the Jedi quickly raising their weapons to defend themselves.

As the changelings reached them, Cadance and the others started fighting back. The slaves ran for cover, whilst the Jedi cut the bug troopers down. The droids then got in on the fight and the Jedi began to take them out as well, whilst the Sith just watched and waited for them to tire. It wouldn't take long.

The slaves watched as the Jedi fought their hardest to defeat the ones holding them there. Many were protecting the children, as lasers flew everywhere.

"What do we do?" Someone asked, as Rarity jumped over a droid to avoid its laser before stabbing it in the back. But she found herself almost getting stabbed by a changeling, who swung a knife at her that she managed to avoid before stabbing the insect.

Tubster watched them fight and felt terrible, hating that others were fighting to try and save him. "We can't just sit around doing nothing. If they fight those things, they'll wear themselves out and the Sith will be able to kill them easily."

"What do you expect us to do?" Ryn asked, "we can't fight them. They'd kill us in seconds."

"I'd rather die fighting for my freedom, than live whilst others risk their lives trying to save ours." He looked around and saw a changeling about to shoot his blaster at Pinkie. But before it could, the large alien ran out from his hiding spot and tackled him.

The Jedi and changelings saw this and were shocked, as he reached out and grabbed the blaster that the bug trooper had dropped.

Chrysalis saw him roll along the ground before getting up and pointing the stolen weapon at another changeling, the slave firing at it and gunning it down.

The other changelings saw this and tried to shoot him, but the Jedi protected Tubster whilst he kept shooting. He wasn't a great shot, but he managed to take down a few changelings and droids. And when the bug troopers fell, their weapons fell with them and were up for grabs.

Ryn saw this and seeing Tubster fight, she chose to do the same and ran out to grab the blaster.

"I'm getting out of here!" She started firing, proving a much better shot than Tubster. She took out several more droids along with a couple changelings, Ruby acting fast and using The Force to move the blasters over to more of the slaves.

Taking the hint, they all grabbed a weapon and whilst some stayed out in the open, others hid and fired from a safe spot.

The camp had devolved into a mass of lasers and explosions, Chrysalis and Tirek watching from the sidelines and frowning as they saw that their army was becoming less effective as more of their prisoners took up arms. "This is getting ridiculous," Tirek growled. "Those fools actually think they can beat us." He raised a hand, "I'll teach them a lesson."

Tubster fired another shot and as a battle droid fell, he suddenly found himself unable to breathe.

He gasped, reaching up and grabbing his airway as he tried desperately to get some oxygen in his lungs. But he couldn't and the next thing he knew, he was being lifted into the air by his neck. This caused his breathing issue to get worse and he soon found his blaster slipping out of his hand.

Ryn was the first to see this and gasped, as she spotted Tirek was the one doing it.

She quickly raised her blaster and fired at him, but Tirek just raised his other hand and the lasers stopped before vanishing. He then flicked his hand around and Ryn found herself being sent flying back, crying out as she crashed into the side of a hut and knocked it down.

Tubster heard her cry and wanted to see if she was okay, but his lack of oxygen was beginning to get to him.

But before he could pass out, Tirek suddenly found himself under attack by Ruby. The Jedi had fought her way through the army and managed to get to the Sith, having also noticed Tubster's problem and running to his aid. She slashed at the giant centaur, who was forced to drop Tubster and leap back.

She kept slashing at him, but Tirek used his own Lightsabers to block her attack.

Tidal then appeared and slashed at him as well, the Sith easily avoiding both of their strikes and attacking with is own. But before he could hit either of them, he found two lasers flying at him and had to jump back. First charged, still firing his blast-sabers at the monster before getting up close and shifting his weapons to sword mode.

The three Jedi began to battle Tirek, the giant proving quite the match for them whilst they managed to protect one another.

Chrysalis watched this happen and smirked, only to then dodge a Lightsaber sent at her face. She looked around and saw Cadance, blade in hand, staring the Sith down before Chrysalis countered with her own Lightsaber.

The two suddenly found themselves continuing the battle they had started on Canterlot, only this time it was on Chrysalis' home turf. They fought against one another with everything they had, dancing around the camp as they tried to strike at the other.

Cadance blocked an attack on her wing before trying to get Chrysalis' leg, but the insectoid jumped back before grabbing a slab of metal in The Force and throwing it at her. But before Cadance could try and defend herself, Thorax suddenly appeared and cut the metal in half.

As it flew past the pair, they smiled at one another before focusing back on Chrysalis.

"Still choosing them over your own kind?" She asked, glaring at her child whilst Thorax raised his blade.

"I'm choosing what's right," he told her. "If you guys weren't trying to conquer the galaxy and enslave everyone in it, I'd happily return to you guys." Chrysalis frowned, as Thorax looked around. "Where's Pharynx? He off kicking puppies or something?"

"He's working on the next patch of changeling clones," Chrysalis told him. "Maybe if you hadn't abandoned us, you could be helping him and this patch could have been the last group needed to restore our race."

Thorax frowned, but shook his head. He had to focus. What mattered right now was saving the slaves and that meant keeping them alive until the ship could arrive.

As this was happening, Springer was flying around trying to avoid getting blown apart.

The fighters behind her were catching up and Springer was barely able to keep from getting him, the constant flying around the rocks the only reason he hadn't been turned into scrap metal. He had to shake them and hide, since the ship's fuel was starting to dip into the red.

As one fighter got closer, Springer barrel-rolled to avoid the lasers and ducked into a hole in the side of a large rock. The ships didn't dare go in and fired at the rock. This caused the whole thing to shake and crack, whilst the tunnel he was in began to collapse.

Springer heard the sound of rocks bouncing off the roof and prayed he would find an exit. And to his joy, a light was up ahead and he gunned it.

But the tunnel was starting to get narrow and he quickly found himself hitting the walls. If Springer could feel fear, he would be terrified the ship would get stuck. But after a few more scrapes, he flew out the end and was back into the air.

The fighters had spotted him and were starting to fly over to him, but they were a good distance away and Springer was able to capitalise on it.

The droid spotted another hole and dived down into it, the fighters seeing this and preparing to fire at it again. But by the time they got to the hole, the Shooting Star came shooting out of it. The changelings were so surprised, they didn't have time to register what was happening before the ship's lasers came shooting out.

By some miracle, Springer's barely aimed shots hit each fighter in a crucial area. Some of them were completely destroyed, whilst others had their wings damaged and they began to crash.

Springer cheered, as he was no longer being attacked by the fighters. Now he could find somewhere safe to land and conserve fuel. He just hoped the others would be able to contact him from where they were.

Back on the ship, the Jedi continued to fight their way to the bridge.

The bug troopers guarding the ship were many and whenever the Jedi found them, the insects tried to blast them. But these lasers were quickly dealt with using their Lightsabers. Spitfire cut one blaster in half before kicking the trooper away, whilst Rainbow spun and sliced a bunch of guns with her twin short blades.

Iron swung his pike around, knocking a blaster out of a changeling's hand before using the staff of his weapon to clang the soldier's head. Applejack did something similar with her light-axe, whilst Trixie and Heather slid on their knees to slide under the lasers and cut the troopers at the waist.

As the insects fell, the Jedi kept running until they came to an intersection. "Where do we go from here?" Trixie asked, the others wondering the same thing. None of them had been on a Destroyer before and had no idea which way led to the bridge.

Iron groaned. "Would it kill them to put up a 'you are here' sign?" Before they could say anything else, they found themselves getting blasted at by more changelings. "Can't they give us a minute to catch our breath?"

"They wouldn't be villains if they played fair," Heather joked. They leapt behind the corners, as the lasers kept flying past. Heather then reached out with her arm and pulled, a changeling being thrown forward and sliding towards them. Once it was at the intersection, Iron grabbed it and yanked the soldier away from the lasers before Spitfire and Rainbow leapt out to start deflecting the lasers.

"How do we get to the bridge?" Iron asked the bug trooper, but the insect said nothing. "Answer us."

"He's not gonna say anythin'," Applejack told him. "They were probably trained not to give out any info." Suddenly, the changeling hit a button on their chest and the armor started beeping. "Really? In the ship?"

Iron spun around and threw the changeling with all of his strength, Applejack pushing him even further with The Force.

The changeling flew down the corridor until their armor exploded, flames filling the hallway with a cloud of it flying towards them. The Jedi were forced to leap in the path of the lasers, as the flames shot passed them before dying out. Luckily, Rainbow and Spitfire had dealt with the rest of the troopers.

"Was that an explosion?" Rainbow asked, as she dropped a trooper to the ground. "what happened?"

"Don't ask," Iron stated before they headed down the corridor the changelings had come from. "Let's find an elevator. There's gotta be a way to the bridge from one of those." The others agreed and all headed off, hoping they could find one or at least a map.

Outside, Luna and Skybreaker continued to work to get the ship off the towers.

Luna was on the fourth tower, the omni using her incredible strength to turn the valve and remove the screw holding the ship in place. But it was proving tricky, due to how tight the screws were in the hole. She groaned, spinning the wheel slowly whilst the wasp droids continued to attack.

Skybreaker intercepted a laser flying at her, then stabbed the droid before it could fire again. And as the machine blew up, he spotted several more droids trying to make their way up the tower.

But he took a page out of Luna's book and used The Force to push the one at the front of the pack down, the droid slamming into the others and turning them into a pile of wreckage that littered the stairs.

He then found a laser almost hitting him, clipping the tip of his robotic wing and making him flinch. "Augh!" He turned towards the droid in question and charged, slashing at the mech and cutting it to pieces. He then checked his wing and found it wasn't damaged, though a light burn could be seen on the end.

He nodded and turned his attention back to the droids that were approaching. "How many of these things do they have?" He charged again and slashed at them, the parts he cut off falling to the ground around him. He had to keep fighting, no matter how tired he got.

At the camp, the battle continued to rage.

The slaves were now all armed with weapons and as they fought against the changelings and droids, they worked to get out of the camp and head towards the shipyard. All the while, the Jedi continued to fight against the Sith.

Cadance and Chrysalis flew through the air, slicing at one another to try and get the best of each other. But the two appeared evenly matched, though Chrysalis soon found her wings beginning to tire.

As Cadance charged at her, trying to cut her down the middle, Chrysalis pushed the Jedi backwards and she was thrown towards the ground. But as Chrysalis tried to take advantage of this and dive down after her, Thorax leapt up and got between them.

The mother son duo clashed blades and pushed against each other, with Chrysalis proving stronger than him as he was slowly pushed back towards the ground. And as Cadance leapt up, Chrysalis pushed Thorax away and blocked the omni's attack.

Down on the ground, Tirek continued his fight against Tidal, First and Ruby.

"Raaaah!" He swung his Lightsaber across the ground, burning through it and sending drops of metal rock flying at the Jedi. But the three leapt back and avoided the lava whilst First changed his weapons to their gun form. He fired at Tirek, but the centaur spun his blades to deflect them.

Ruby then roared, as she ran in and attacked. But Tirek blocked her blade with his own. As he did, he licked his lips. "You're quite strong with The Force. I can't wait until I get to drain it out of you."

"You won't be feasting on me," Ruby told him.

Tidal then leapt into the air and fell down towards Tirek, thrusting his weapon towards his chest. But Tirek was able to block with his Lightsaber and threw Tidal back before he could get a hit off on the man, doing the same with Ruby whilst jumping back to avoid another laser blast.

Tirek then let out an incredible roar, as he slammed his hooves into the ground with enough force to make it shake out of control. The Jedi and slaves all cried out, as they did their best to stay on their feet. But eventually, they fell over and Tirek used The Force to suddenly control the broken up ground.

Ruby, Tidal and First found themselves getting stuck, as the rock beneath their feet opened up before slamming down on their feet. They all flinched, as they all found themselves trapped. Unable to pull themselves free, they found themselves at the mercy of Tirek as he suddenly jumped up and over them.

When he landed behind them, the Jedi realised they wouldn't be able to defend themselves at the angle they were at. And as Tirek prepared to cut them up, he suddenly found himself needing to dodge a whip-like weapon that almost hit him.

"Augh!" He turned towards the source of the whip and found Pinkie, Rarity and Fluttershy.

The girls looked scared, but they stood firm as Tirek growled. "You three just made a big mistake." With that, he galloped at them and the girls prepared for a fight.

Suddenly, Pinkie grabbed her nose and blew. This made her smoke-like hair explode into a pink mist, that Tirek ran into but couldn't see a thing. "What?" He tried to find them, but the girls had disappeared. "Where are you?" He tried to get out of the cloud, but he couldn't find the edge. He was lost in a world of pink.

Back in the ship, the Jedi had found an elevator. The only problem was, they were a little worried about using it.

"If we go in there, the changelings can cut the power or drop up a few stories." Heather frowned, "we need to find a way to use it without being turned into Jedi puree."

"Too bad Flash or Twilight aren't here," Rainbow frowned. "Those two could probably hardwire the lift to give us control."

Iron frowned. "Sentry and Sparkle aren't the only mechanically skilled Jedi here." He moved over to the control panel and pulled it open, as he started working to rewire the systems. "You guys are gonna need to make sure I don't get distracted." As he said that, changelings appeared down the hall and started firing.

Spitfire was quick to deflect the lasers, as Iron kept his focus on the wiring.

Rainbow followed suit and the Jedi did battle against the bug troopers. "How much longer?" Trixie asked, dodging a laser that almost hit her.

"This isn't exactly easy, you know." He bypassed several systems and frowned when he noticed something, but kept working as everyone kept defending him. He then connected some of the wires into his gauntlet and began to reprogram it. And after a few moments, he had it working. "Got it!" The doors opened and the Jedi began to get in the elevator. But Iron didn't.

"Get in," Heather told him. "Hurry!"

Applejack could sense something was wrong and jumped out, just as the elevator closed. Moments later, it shot upwards with her and Iron no longer on it. "What are you doing?" Iron cried, as more changelings began to attack.

"That's what a'h wanna know," Applejack deflected it. "Why'd ya'h not get in?"

"Can't," Iron told her. "if I do, the ones on the bridge will override my override." Sure enough, he noticed something and worked to undo it. "They're not gonna make it to the bridge unless I'm here to keep the elevator working."

"And ya'h didn't think ta tell us?" A changeling got in close and tried to stab her, but she dodged the knife before slamming the butt of his axe into its head. "These things would have killed ya'h, if I hadn't jumped out." Iron bypassed something again.

"We didn't have time to argue." His gauntlet beeped and he opened a channel, Heather's voice calling out to him.

"Iron! You'd better have an explanation. And Applejack better be okay!"

"Sorry," Iron ducked under a laser, "had to stay behind to keep them from taking the lift controls back. You guys need to get to the bridge. Then Applejack and I can ride the lift after you."

"Just be careful," Spitfire told him. "Skybreaker will kill us if we let anything happen to you."

"I'll be fine," Iron bypassed the bridge's control again before punching a charging bug trooper. "You guys just focus on taking the bridge over. If you can't, this'll all be for nothing."

Those in the elevator frowned, as they continued to ride it up to what they hoped would be the bridge deck.

"Alright," Iron told them, "I managed to tap into the ship's systems through the elevator. I'm sending you to the deck the blueprints are claiming has the bridge on it. Once you get there, get out of the elevator and go straight for about a hundred feet, then take a left and go another fifty feet before turning right. The bridge should be straight ahead of you."

"Got it," Heather nodded. "You and Applejack be careful. We won't be able to fill the ship with gas if you're not in the bridge with us. So once we have control of it, get up here as fast as you can." The lift reached its destination and the four of them rushed out, as some changelings stood in front of them.

Rainbow moved first, slicing her way through the crowd before they could react. The others followed suit and they were soon taken down, the Jedi rushing up the hallway until they reached the turn Iron told them about.

More changelings await them and Heather slammed them into the walls, Trixie and Spitfire taking them out when they tried to get away. They then turned another corner and the bridge was straight ahead, but even more bug troopers awaited them.

The Jedi defended themselves with their Lightsabers, until they reached the soldiers and took them all down before getting to the door. Heather tried to open it, but found it was locked. "Not good." She tried a random one, two, three, four, five code, hoping the changelings might not be creative. But it didn't work. "We can't get in."

"Iron," Spitfire contacted him, "is there a way you can get the code for the bridge's doors?"

"No. But I might be able to get all the doors in the ship to open. But it'll only last for a few seconds before they close again. You'll need to be fast."

"Got it," Spitfire nodded. "Give us a heads up when you're ready." As she said that, more changelings arrived and began to shoot at them. Trixie and Rainbow deflected them, as Iron worked to get the door open with Applejack protecting him.

"Alright. On three. One...two...THREE!" The door suddenly opened and the Jedi leapt through it, Rainbow managing to get through it seconds before it slammed shut again.

The four found themselves on the bridge and as they stood there, they found only a couple of changelings there.

The insects were shocked to see them and all reached for their weapons, but the Jedi summoned them to their sides before they could. Once the last gun lay at their feet, the Jedi held up their weapons and the changelings all raised their arms to show they were surrendering.

"Get out," Spitfire told them. "I'd suggest finding a way off this ship. It's not gonna be pleasant in a few minutes." The changelings didn't look happy, but realised they didn't have a choice and rushed out the room. As they did, Heather ran over to the controls and found the one that had command over the elevators.

"We have control of the bridge," she announced over her gauntlet. "Get up here, now."

"Roger," they both replied before cutting the call. Heather managed to tap into the security cameras and found the one for the elevator, which showed Iron and Applejack in their lift. But another shot showed the changelings outside the lift. One seemed to be messing with the controls, likely trying to make the lift fall.

Heather got to work, trying to shut down the lift controls on that floor. But she found she was having as much trouble as the changelings had when they tried that. She and the changeling kept playing tug of war with the controls, whilst Iron and Applejack rode the lift up to them. Hopefully, they would reach the bridge deck before Heather lost.

Back outside, Luna had reached the final tower.

Skybreaker remained on guard, but all the droids had apparently been destroyed. There was no sign of one anywhere, which made him sigh in relief. And as Luna worked to get the last lock shut down, he chose this moment to check up on the others.

"Iron Core. Report." But Iron didn't respond, Skybreaker trying to get Spitfire. But she also didn't respond. Something seemed to be blocking the signal from getting through. "That's unsettling." As he said that, he heard movement and looked around. And to his surprise, he spotted a bunch of scorpion droids approaching from over the hill. "That's even more unsettling."

Luna began to turn the valve and saw the droids approaching as well, their tail cannons raising the point at the ship. "Are they aiming for the Destroyer?"

Skybreaker growled. "Whoever programmed them must not want the ship to be space worthy." He charged at the droids and before the front one could launch its attack, he threw his Lightsaber at it and cut through the tail cannon.

The damage right before it fired caused the tail to explode, destroying the droid as Skybreaker called his weapon back to him. He then dived down and slashed at the rest of the droids, but a few managed to fire before he could.

Back on the bridge, Heather sighed as the Padawans reached the bridge deck and left the lift.

They fought against some more changelings on their way there, as Heather prepared to flood the ship with the gas. But as she did, the ship suddenly shook as something outside slammed into the side.

"What was that?" Trixie asked, as Spitfire ran over to one of the monitors and tuned it to an outside camera. When she did, she saw the scorpion droids and frowned. "That could be an issue." She spotted Skybreaker, who sliced his way through the droids whilst more began to fire. "We need to switch on the shields."

"How?" Rainbow moved to the consoles and found there were over a thousand buttons. "I don't know what any of these controls do."

"There's gotta be some kind of manual or something," Trixie started looking around and eventually found a binder. "Ah ha!" She quickly opened it up and started reading. "Thank you for purchasing your new Generation Sixteen Calonian Star Destroyer. In this book-"

"Dude!" Rainbow rushed up and ripped the page off. "You don't need the first page. It's filler!" She crumbled it up and threw it away, Trixie rolling her eyes and reading the second page.

"After completing the steps on page one-"

"Oh, come on!" Rainbow grabbed the crumpled up page, as the ship began to shake once again. Spitfire and Heather were just pressing random buttons, trying to figure out what they needed to do. They worried that if they didn't get the ship's shields up soon, the ship would be ripped apart.

Skybreaker kept slicing at the robots as they fired, not even bothering to acknowledge him as he cut their tails off.

Eventually, he managed to destroy all but one of them and as he approached, it began to charge an extra powerful laser that would likely cut a hole right through the ship. But at the last moment, Skybreaker was able to pull the droid's leg out from under it and make it stagger around before firing.

The laser missed the ship and instead, it struck one of the towers holding it up.

The metal of the tower exploded and half of the structure fell off it, crashing into the ground and weakening the structure. And with the ship still resting on it, the weight was proving too much for the damaged tower to hand and it was starting to bend.

The rest of the towers took more of the weight, but they were clearly struggling to stay up as well. If the ship didn't fly off the towers soon, it would crash down to the ground and do who knows how much damage.

Destroying the last droid, Skybreaker flew up towards where he hoped the bridge was located. And soon enough, he was outside a large window and looked inside. And to his amazement, four of his team were there. He couldn't see Iron Core and Applejack, but he would worry about that once the ship was safe.

The Jedi saw him and he pointed to his gauntlet and then shook his head, Trixie holding up a book and flicking through it before finding something. She told Spitfire and the Knight pressed a few things before activating her gauntlet. "Skybreaker. You there?"

"I'm here," Skybreaker announced. "Where's Iron and Applejack?"

"They're on their way. We had to split up for a few minutes. They'll be here soon."

"You need to start the engines," Skybreaker stated. "One of the towers is damaged and if it collapses, the whole ship could crash into the ground."

"On it," Heather replied.

Skybreaker nodded and flew back down, seeing Luna was almost done releasing the last screw. Hopefully, by the time she was done the ship was be ready to take off.

Back at the camp, Tirek was still trapped in the smokescreen Pinkie had made.

As he staggered around, he listened for any nearby sound. But the explosions that were happening were too numerous, making it impossible for him to locate anyone. And as he took a step forward, he felt paranoid that he would be attacked any moment.

But then, the mist began to clear and Tirek was able to see. But to his surprise, the Jedi and their Padawans had vanished.

He growled, as he realised the Padawans had used the smoke to free their masters and get away. He spotted a large number of destroyed droids on the ground, along with slain changelings. But there weren't any slaves, who had all used the smoke to escape.

He heard noises from above and glanced up to see Chrysalis fighting Cadance and Thorax, the changelings and omni flying around trying to get the upper-hand on the other. But nothing they did seemed to give them an advantage.

Finally, he spotted a large group running away from the area, heading towards the shipyard. Seeing them escape, he growled and began to gallop after them.

Ruby and the other Knights were at the back of the pack, keeping an eye on where Tirek was. And sure enough, the centaur began to charge.

"He's coming!" Ruby cried, she, Tidal and First stopping and preparing to fight him again. "The rest of you get out of here before more droids show up." Their students nodded and kept running, Tubster having recovered from his close death and looking worried.

"We can't just leave them!"

"They'll be fine," Rarity assured him. "But we can't help them. Tirek is too strong for us." Everyone frowned, not liking that they had to abandon the ones that had worked to save them. But they didn't have any other choice.

First shot at the charging Tirek, who dodged and deflected the attacks as he got closer. And as he did, his horns sparked with energy before the lightning exploded out from between them. Ruby barely managed to block it in time, as Tirek reached them and tried to cut her in half.

Tidal jumped in front of her and blocked his Lightsaber, as First switched his weapons to sword mode and got in close to attack. But Tirek jumped and once again slammed his hooves into the ground, trying to knock them off balance.

The three Knights had learned from their previous encounter and leapt up, the shaking ground doing nothing against them. First once again started shooting at Tirek, the centaur needing to avoid the lasers and unable to react to them jumping up.

As they landed, the ground stopped shaking and Ruby tried to take advantage of it.

She used The Force to try and trap his hooves in the broken ground, but Tirek was able to avoid the broken sections of rock before raising his arms. The rocks ripped themselves out of the ground and Tirek threw them at the Jedi, who tried to defend themselves but were each struck by one of them.

They cried out, getting knocked off their feet and hitting the ground with their weapons falling from their grasp.

Tirek chuckled. "No Padawans to bail you out this time." He reached out and First was pulled off the ground, Tirek grabbing him around the neck and holding him tight. "I'm going to enjoy this." With that, his hands started glowing and spread towards First.

As he also glowed, Ruby and Tidal moaned whilst trying to push themselves up. When they saw what was happening, both Jedi gasped and summoned their weapons. But Tirek once again slammed his hooves into the ground and made it shake.

The pair lost their balance again and Tirek laughed, as he began to drain First's force energy.

Back on the ship, Iron and Applejack had finally arrived at the bridge.

Iron contacted them to let them in and as they approached the door, several changelings appeared behind them and started firing. They barely managed to avoid the lasers and as the doors open, they leapt through it before Rainbow slammed them shut.

"Deadlock the doors!" Iron cried, but nobody knew how to do that. "Geez!" He ran over and after a cursory glance at the controls, he typed away at them and the doors were locked tight. "Great. Now we can fill the ship with gas."

"We need to take off first," Heather told him. "One of the towers is damaged. if we don't take off soon, we might not take off at all." Iron nodded and completed the start up sequence. But as he did, they heard a sound turned to the door. Some kind of sparking sound was coming from the other side.

"They're cutting through the door?" Trixie asked, Iron frowning.

"Not good." He turned back to the console. "If they break the door's integrity, we'll get a full force of the gas as well." Everyone began to worry, as Iron did his best to get the gas to start flowing into the air. After a few moments, he found the controls and began to mix the chemical into the atmosphere.

He nodded to Heather, who had found the intercom system and quickly activated it. "Attention all bug troopers." Her voice echoed through the ship. "We're currently releasing a deadly gas into the air system. It won't be lethal until it reaches eighty five percent density. But with how cramped this ship's corridors are, that won't take long. You have a choice. Stay and suffocate or leave this ship right away. It's your choice."

They waited to see if the changelings believed them, Spitfire using the camera to check out the hallways with the changelings still within them. And sure enough, they appeared to be believing them. It was likely their helmets, telling them the gas had been detected. Many of them began to head for the escape pods and any other exit they could find. Hopefully, they would make it out of there in time.

Outside, Luna had finished undoing the last screw.

"There!" She retracted the screw and found the ship was completely disconnected from the towers. But as the hatch closed around the hole, she suddenly found the ship looking a little rickety. "What's taking them so long? They need to get the ship flying." She flew out from the tower, as Skybreaker flew down to her. "What are they waiting for?"

"They seem to be having a few issues," Skybreaker explained. As he said that, they heard a sound and looked around to see one of the escape pods had suddenly ejected.

It flew through the air and over the hill, Luna and Skybreaker looking confused as more pods began to launch.

Then, the ship's engines exploded and the thrusters fired. This pushed the ship upwards, causing the towers it was on to finally lose the strain. And as more and more pods flew off the ship, it began to fly across the land. "They did it!" Skybreaker cheered, he and Luna smirking before flying after the ship.

"Skybreaker, you there?" Iron's voice called out.

"We're here. Great work getting the ship under your control. Luna and I are about to head inside."

"Don't. The ship's full of lethal gas. If you head inside, you'll suffocate. The last changeling just evacuated, so we're injecting a neutraliser into the air supply. But the air won't be breathable for a while."

"Alright," Skybreaker flew up with Luna beside him, both flying towards the bridge. "We'll just hold onto the ship until we reach the camp. Get ready to start evacuating the slaves. And get the shields up. The rest of the Sith ships won't take too kindly to us stealing their vessel."

"Understood."

Back with Tirek, he continued to clutch First and feast on his Force Energy.

The Jedi groaned, using all his focus to resist. He had managed to keep all but the smallest amount of his energy from being drained away, but he could feel his defences dropping.

Ruby and Tidal tried to get up and save him, but Tirek was faster and swung his other hand around. This sent a bunch of rocks flying at the pair, forcing them to dodge as several smaller rocks slammed into them. And as this happened, Tirek slammed his front hooves into the ground.

The shaking knocked the pair off balance again and Tirek used this to once again try and drain him. And First could feel his resistance break. At any moment, he would be unable to hold back any more.

But before that happened, something appeared in the distance. The Destroyer, which had been moving towards them, came into view and quickly got closer and closer.

Tirek saw this and frowned, wondering why a Destroyer was there when the ships should have all been protecting the castle. But when he looked back at the Jedi, he saw they were actually happy to see the ship. That's when it clicked.

"Don't tell me!" He looked up at the Destroyer, "you took control of it?" The Jedi said nothing and chose to use his distraction to try and attack, Ruby and Tidal summoning their weapons and charging. But before they could get close, Tirek's horns sparked and unleashed a blast of lightning.

That lightning struck the ground and exploded, sending them both flying with screams of pain.

Tirek laughed as he saw them hit the ground, then turned back to First. "Time to feast." First groaned, as Tirek's hold on his neck tightened and cut off his air. He couldn't focus without oxygen and soon, his mental resistance shattered as Tirek prepared to suck up his power.

Suddenly, something shot down from the sky at an incredible speed. And before Tirek could react, a flash of blue filled his vision and he suddenly found First falling away from him. And that wasn't all.

"AAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRHHHHHHHHHH!" He staggered back, clutching the stump that had once been his left arm. He forced himself to open his eyes and look down to see Luna, who rose from her kneeling land with her split-saber's single edge ignited.

She glared at him and powered up the other side, then split the weapon in two as she prepared to fight.

Skybreaker flew down and landed next to First, helping him up as he let out a moan. "You okay?" First nodded, feeling tired but alive. "Alright. Let's get you out of here." He turned to Luna, who nodded back. He then flew off, pulling First with him.

Ruby and Tidal stood up, seeing Skybreaker carrying First towards the ship. They then turned to Luna and saw Tirek minus a hand, the centaur growling as he moved back. Luna looked ready to follow, but stopped when Tirek broke into a run and began to retreat.

"He's getting away!" Ruby tried to run after him, but Luna stopped her.

"As much as I don't want to let him go, we have more important things to worry about. We need to get the prisoners to safety and that ship won't leave without us." The two frowned, but knew she was right. "Let's go." She spread her wings and headed towards the ship.

Cadance and Thorax continued their fight against Chrysalis, the changeling slashing at them with everything she had.

The Jedi, student, pair blocked her attacks and Thorax managed to deal a kick to his mother's chest, knocking her back and making her grunt. Cadance then tried to cut her down, but Chrysalis blocked the attack at the last moment before throwing her backwards.

Cadance and Thorax glared her down, whilst Chrysalis panted. Her wings were starting to ache and she knew Thorax was probably straining as well. She needed to end this as soon as possible.

But before she could attack, she spotted the Destroyer in the distance. "What?" The Jedi glanced around and saw it as well.

"Good," Cadance smiled, "the others managed to get the ship." Chrysalis heard this and realised what was happening, the changeling growling in disbelief.

"So, you plan to escape with the prisoners on that ship. Ballsy move." She raised her Lightsaber, "well it's not going to happen."

"You can't stop us," Thorax told her. "We're getting out of here and there's nothing you can do to keep us here."

"Don't be so sure." She raised her gauntlet and activated it, opening a channel to all the ships. "All Destroyers. Converge on my position. The enemy has stolen a ship and intends to escape with it." The pair's eyes widened. "Locate and destroy it."

"NO!" Cadance flew at her, but Chrysalis dodged the attack and spun around to kick her in the face.

"You can't stop it," she stated. "Those ships will be here soon and when they are, they'll blow that Destroyer to kingdom come. And everyone on board." Fear gripped the two, as Chrysalis laughed. They needed to find a way to stop those ships. But how?

At the Destroyer, Pinkie, Rarity and Fluttershy were helping the prisoners onto the ship.

The crowd was underneath the ship, which was projecting a tractor beam usually used to grab ships in space. Now it was being used to slowly pull the prisoners up and into the Destroyer. "It's perfectly safe," Pinkie assured a woman as she stepped into the light.

She was then pulled up and into the light, she and the others in the beam heading towards the fighter bay.

Inside the bay, Rainbow and Trixie were there to help the people. Since they stayed close to the edge of the beam, they found themselves being pulled up next to the edge of the bay hole and were pulled out by the two. "Don't worry," Rainbow told them. "You're gonna be fine. We're gonna get you out of here as soon as everyone's on board."

Trixie pulled a little kid out of the light, as Ryn and a still recovering Tubster appeared as well.

On the bridge, Iron, Heather and Spitfire were keeping an eye out for any trouble. "Any sign of another Destroyer?" Spitfire asked, with Iron shaking his head.

"No. But I doubt they're too far away. They're probably gonna try and blow us out of the sky before we can get everyone on board." He was tempted to increase the tractor beam's power, but knew that would be a mistake. It would either rip someone in half or they would be pulled into the ceiling and go splat. As much as he hated it, slow and steady was the key.

Suddenly, an alarm filled the air and they rushed over to the console. And sure enough, several dots appeared on the screen. "Oh no," Heather gulped whilst Spitfire opened her gauntlet's channel.

"We got a problem."

"Let me guess," Luna sighed. "More ships are on their way."

"Yeah. And according to this, they'll be here in about fifteen minutes."

"Hopefully, we'll have the rest of the prisoners loaded onto the ship before they get here. You need to get the ship ready to leave. We need to be going the second the last prisoner is on board."

"What about Celestia and those in the castle?" Heather asked.

"We can't risk taking this ship there. There are probably more ships protecting it. Even if we can get this thing to the castle without blowing up, we'd be an easy target for the rest of them. Springer's still flying around. He should be able to get them out when the time comes." They didn't like it, but they knew she was right.

"Iron," Spitfire turned to him. "Get the ship ready for space flight." Iron nodded and started the command process.

Down on the ground, Luna and the other Jedi arrived at the ship. As they did, they turned in the direction of the castle. Luna didn't like abandoning her sister and the others, but this had to be done. She could only hope they would be able to complete their mission and get out safely.

Author's Note

Well that was certainly an action packed chapter. One of you said the plan would go horribly wrong and whilst that's not totally true at this point, since they're accomplishing their goal, they haven't escaped yet. Will they find a way to save all the prisoners and get away? Find out next time.
