Time to get back to the Jackbox action with a visit to Toby and Lena's seminar.

July 6-Patently Stupid

As Apple Bloom walks down the street, she looked at a familiar office building. It was the same place where she was thrusted into a game of Guesspionage.

"I'll never forget that day." Apple Bloom said. "I was askin' about a daily challenge. Next thing I knew, I fell down into a creepy room and found myself in a game."

At that moment, Twilight Sparkle came by and got Apple Bloom's attention.

"Does that game happen to be Guesspionage?" Twilight asked.

"Twilight!" Apple Bloom gasped. "This is a surprise."

"I heard there was an event happening here. And, I decided to check it out."

Apple Bloom got weary and started to leave. But, Twilight spoke up. "Hold it, Apple Bloom. How about coming along with me?"

This got her deeply surprised. To be invited by one of Canterlot's intellectual minds is something she never expected.

"You want me to come with ya?" Apple Bloom wondered. "What's this event about?"

"I'm not sure." Twilight said. "But, with Spike home being cared for by mom and dad, I can sure use some company."

Accepting Twilight's offer, Apple Bloom joins her as they enter the building. They enter a room with six other people. Soon, two business people come into the room. It's a man with jet black hair and a woman with curly red hair.

"Hello, everybody." The man said. "Welcome to our seminar. My name is Toby. And, this lovely lady is my ex wife: Lena."

"This meeting is to see if you guys have the knack for invention." Lena explained. "Toby and I will guide you all of the way."

A worker passes out skips of paper as Toby starts things off. "Step one. We're going to need some problems to solve. So, fill in the blank to complete this scenario."

Everybody studies the paper and started writing. After the worker receives the ideas, he shuffles them, and hands back the papers, plus napkins and pens. Lena continues the tutorial. "Okay. Now that we have problems, it's up to you to invent something to solve them. Draw your invention on these strong napkins. Then, on the paper you were given, write down the name of your invention and a sweet tagline."

"That way, your invention will sound so good, people will want to buy them." Toby finished. "Go to it. Nothing is out of bounds."

As the crowd gets to work, Apple Bloom was thinking about this activity. This problem sure hits home to me. I sure hope nobody get mad about it.

Minutes later, Toby began to speak again. "Okay, folks. Now that you have your invention ready, it's time to present your idea."

"That's right, Toby." Lena added. "Each of you come forward and present your invention. Place your napkin on this projector stand, so everyone can see what it looks like."

The room watched as each person their idea. Twilight Sparkle came up for her presentation.

"Hello, fellow entrepreneurs." Twilight said to the crowd. "My major problem is food fights in the cafeteria. Often, I get caught in the middle. I get food splotched all over me."

This got the crowd shocked.

"Yeah, we all experienced that." One person said.

"For sure." Said a female voice. "One big mess for the janitor to clean up."

"Well, not a problem anymore." Twilight continued. "I present to you 'The Food Fight Field'." She presented a picture of a sandwich shaped pin that omits a field of protection. "And, my tagline, Lunch time is safe once again."

The people clapped for Twilight as she sat back down.

"That was good." Apple Bloom said happily. "If only that existed fer real."

"Many visitors to school cafeterias would say the same thing." Twilight replied.

Lena spoke to the crowd. "Apple Bloom, you're next."

Feeling a little nervous, Apple Bloom stepped up for her presentation."

"Howdy, folks." Apple Bloom said. "My biggest problem is those dang Newspaper trolls who like to cause mayhem. Believe me, I was one of them."

"We heard of the Anon-a-Miss conspiracy." One of the women said. "But, that was in the past."

"She's right." A male voice added. "You and your partners are all forgiven."

"Thanks, friends." Apple Bloom said with relief. "To make sure that never happens again, I present you, the Gabby Gums."

Everybody saw a giant set of teeth next to a newspaper. Apple Bloom continues her presentation. "My tagline is this. It'll chew the gossipers up, and spit them out!"

The crowd clapped for Apple Bloom as she sat back down. After the presentations are done, Lena stepped up to the microphone. "Well done, everybody. Now, each of you should see the names of inventions on your screens."

"Each of you will decide which invention you like." Toby continued. "Each invention will receive $500 for first choice, $300 for second, and $100 for third."

"If any of you earned a total of $1,200 or more, we'll throw in an extra 500."

After all decisions were made, everybody watched as the inventions are shown. One was a fishing pole with a radar that only received $700.

TOBY: Ooo. A swing and a miss.

Apple Bloom's invention was shown. She was lucky when the money reached $1,200. She then was given a $500 bonus.

LENA: That's what we're talking about.

Someone presented a dog with sharp teeth. Good concept. But, only worth $100.

LENA: Sorry, Charlie.

Twilight's invention was presented. Her invention was marked with money chips up to $1,400. She then received her bonus.

TOBY: Way to go.

After everything was done, Lena spoke. "That's it. Now, with the money you accumulated, let's see who is the big winner."

The totals were shown. And, Twilight was the big winner with $2,200. Apple Bloom was a close second with $1,700.

"Thank you all for being with us." Lena said. "One little thing we forgot to tell you."

"We will take the credit for all of your inventions." Toby continued. "Sorry you weren't informed."

"But, thanks for making us rich."

"See ya!"

As everyone left the seminar, Twilight and Apple Bloom high fived each other. The farm girl was impressed that many people forgave her and her partners. Might be a sample of things to come for Apple Bloom.

"Kevin and Amy will love to hear about this." Apple Bloom happily said as she heads back to the summer house.
