August 10-Word Spud / Monster Seeking Monster night 1

After getting dressed in a red shirt and blue overalls, Apple Bloom is ready to head out the door. Amy gets her attention. "Where are you off to today?"

"I'm gonna check out that Mom and Pop store in the old section." Apple Bloom explained. "I might check out a game of Word Spud."

"Just take it easy. You just got over your blah day yesterday."

"I know. But, thanks to Olga and the Mother, I'm feeling better."

Apple Bloom soon was on her way. Making her way to the old section, she thought about her experiences here thus far. Apple Bloom watched a fun game of You Don't Know Jack 2015, and partake in games of Drawful and Fibbage. She found the mom and pop store, and is amazed. It feels very nostalgic. Racks for comic books and magazines, a small toy section, and other such areas.

"This is a cute place." Apple Bloom said looking at a small fridge with soda bottles. "Granny Smith would love this place."

She soon spotted a coloring book of kids doing yoga poses. "I have crayons back home. This will keep me busy."

After taking the coloring book and a bottle of soda, she went to the register to pay.

"Thank you, my dear." The kind lady behind the register said. "While you're here, how about a game of Word Spud? There are already seven other kids here."

"Sounds good to me." Apple Bloom replied.

Apple Bloom was lead to another section of the store with desks like a schoolroom. Seven other kids are already seated. Then, a blond haired young man stepped out to greet them.

"Hello, folks." The man said. "Welcome to Word Spud. You'll see words coming to you. You need to think of something that goes with that word. Then, everybody else will vote. You'll have points added or subtracted depending on the votes. Let's go."

First word coming was "metal". One young man, Tommy, added "music". The other kids voted. Five voted yes, two voted no. That's a total of three points. After a few more words, Apple Bloom was given the word "sour". She typed in "apple". To her surprise, everybody voted yes, giving her seven points.

"Makes sense." Another boy, Nathan, said. "Sour Apple is a popular flavor in candy."

This made Apple Bloom smile But, a girl named Carly added "worm ridden" and sneared at Apple Bloom. "How do you like that, farm girl?"

This made Apple Bloom upset. Until Carly got a total of minus 1.

"Oops." Carly said with fear. "I think I offended the crowd."

The game was going smoothly despite a few setbacks. Later, the young man gave an announcement. "And, Tommy wins with twenty six points."

Everybody clapped for the winner. Apple Bloom cheered for him when Carly approached her.

"I'm sorry for being a bit cruel." Carly admitted. "Can you forgive me?"

"Sure." Apple Bloom replied. "No hard feelings."

The two girls shook hands in friendship. After going home, Apple Bloom put away her coloring book and enjoyed her soda. Kevin came into her room.

"Pardon me, Apple Bloom." Kevin said. "Somebody left this for you."

Apple Bloom was given an envelope. Inside was a piece of paper that says, "Meet me at the mansion next to the office building tonight. Trixie."

This got Apple Bloom worried. "I wonder what Trixie is up to."

Later that night, after dinner, Apple Bloom finds herself at an old looking house. As she approached the house, the front door opened. Out steps a green scaly brute wearing a black suit. He spoke in a low male voice. "Welcome, Miss Apple Bloom. We were expecting you. Come in. Nothing to worry about."

Somehow, she walked into the house, feeling no fear. She was lead to an area with a globe type creature and seven normal looking humans including Trixie.

"You made it, Apple Bloom." Trixie cheered. "Thank you for answering my letter."

"What's this all about, Trixie?" Apple Bloom asked.

Trixie then pointed at someone. "She can explain."

In steps a sea foam green skinned woman with flowing coral hair and wearing a dark blue gown. Her notable features are two big tentacles and multiple eyes on her face.

"Greetings, everybody." The woman said with a gentle tone. "My name is Felicia. I'll be hosting six nights of romance. You will be texting each other, hoping to set up dates. A successful date equals one heart. The one of you with the most hearts after these six nights, wins the game. Here's the fun part. Each of you is given a hidden monster identity that can help you. We'll get to that later. For now, start dating."

Apple Bloom was given a seat to watch the scene. She sees Trixie talking to a curly haired man. "How about going to a diner with me? I'm in the mood for a hamburger."

"I like that." The man said. "I hear there's a burger that's loaded with bacon strips and bacon sauce."

Then, Felicia presented Apple Bloom a tray with some apple chips and a glass of milk. "Here you are, Miss Bloom. A healthy snack is a good thing."

"Thank you, Miss Felicia." Apple Bloom replied.

She enjoyed her snack as she watched everybody talking to each other.

"Okay, folks." Felicia said. "Time to pick dates. If you don't get one, don't worry. This is only the first night."

The crowd each selected their choices. Soon, everybody got a date, including Trixie. Apple Bloom crunched on her apple chips as Felicia made an announcement.

"This has been an exciting first night." Felicia praised. "Remember, after tomorrow night, one of you will have your monster identity revealed from night two to the last night. Each monster has a unique power. See you soon."

After everybody went home, Trixie escorted Apple Bloom back to her house.

"Thanks for letting me be with you, Trixie." Apple Bloom said happily.

"My pleasure." Trixie replied. "Remember, this is a six night event. And, tomorrow is night two."

"I'll remember. Good night, Trixie."

As Apple Bloom heads back into the house, Trixie looks at her phone. It shows her progress in this haunting event.

"With this monster identity I was given," Trixie figured, "I got two hearts. If things hold out, I'll have a lot of hearts. Then, I'll be the winner."
