August 27-Role Models

Leaving a convenience store, Apple Bloom has in her hand a hot dog coated with chili and a cold soda. She sits on a bench near Professor Nanners' laboratory and enjoyed her lunch.

"That was some rain we had last night." Apple Bloom said while looking at some puddles on the ground. "It was sunny one minute. Then, cloudy and rainy the next."

Just then, somebody approaches her. It was a pink haired girl with wild hair with blue streaks. "Hi, Apple Bloom!"

"Silverstream." Apple Bloom gasped. "What are y'all doing here?"

"Me and my five friends were invited to a laboratory for some kind of experiment."

"And, it's not from Professor Nanners." Said a gruff male voice.

In steps a blue skinned young man with blond hair. Apple Bloom got nervous. "Uh, howdy, Gallus."

"Hello, Apple Bloom." Gallus replied. "Good to see you again. As for this experiment Silverstream was talking about, come with us and you'll see."

After finishing lunch, the nervous farm girl followed Gallus and Silverstream into an office next to Nanners' laboratory.

"Don't be so nervous." Gallus said. "I maybe a rough type. But, I'm not that rough. Besides, that little conspiracy last year is in the past. I think of you as a maiden reborn."

This made Apple Bloom feel better. Soon, they went into another room where four other young teens were waiting. Sandbar, Yona, Smolder, and Ocellus.

"Glad you and Silverstream are here, Gallus." Smolder said. "I see you brought Apple Bloom with you."

"We saw her enjoying some peace and quiet." Gallus replied. "We figured to bring her with us."

Yona came over to give her a small hug. But, the farm kid soon ached. "Ow. That's gonna sting."

"Sorry." Yona said. "Sometimes Yona don't know own strength."

Soon, a woman with long dark blonde hair came out wearing a white lab coat over a green dress comes out. "Good morning. I'm Dr. Mixer. Thank you for coming."

The crew looks on as this woman looks over her clipboard. "Gallus, Ocellus, Sandbar, Silverstream, Smolder, and Yona. I appreciate you taking part in this experiment."

"You're welcome.” Ocellus replied. "We brought this little lady with us as a witness."

"No problem. She can see what this is about."

Apple Bloom got nervous as Dr. Mixer spoke again. "I have a list of five subjects here. Which one do you guys choose?'

After thinking about it for a minute. The crew made a choice. Sandbar spoke for the team. "We choose Slumber Parties."

"Okay, then." Dr. Mixer said proudly. "On your devices, you'll see six different slumber party activities. Decide who matches which activity. That includes yourself."

Apple Bloom got curious as the six teens decided the activities that match them. Dr. Mixer studied the results, and told everybody, "Those who matched each other correctly get science pellets."

Soon, the results were presented. Sandbar is connected to pizza deliveries. "Pizza can be good for any event."

Gallus is connected to Truth or Dare. "Learning about the truth can be comical. And, those Dare type stunts are funny."

Silverstream sees she's a Pillow Fight. "What's a slumber party without a good pillow fight?"

"Very quiet." Apple Bloom answered.

Gallus gave her a thumbs up. Smolder was connected to Dress up. "I maybe a tough chick. But, I don't mind slipping into different costumes."

Yona found she's connected to movies. "Movies good fun at slumber parties."

Everybody nodded. Lastly, Ocellus is connected to board games. "Sometimes, a board game is better than Truth or Dare. Not too embarrassing."

Dr. Mixer spoke to the crew. "You're doing fine, Student Six. Smolder so far has the most science pellets."

Apple Bloom is pleasantly surprised as she and Smolder high five each other.

"Let's try another experiment." Dr. Mixer said as she presents her clipboard. "Choose one of these five subjects."

The gang looked it over. Ocellus spoke for them. "We choose Batman villains."

"Okay, then. You six know the drill. BTW: The villains in question will be the one time fiends from the original TV series."

This should be interesting. Two minutes later, the decisions were made. Smolder was looked at as Marsha, the Queen if Diamonds. "One time, my mom had me where a diamond necklace to a wedding we attended. I got to admit. It looked pretty good on me."

Sandbar was given the role Louie the Lilac. "I like attending community gardens. I do appreciate the flowers grown."

Everybody was surprised that Yona is connected to Shame. "Yona do like wild west stories. Yona would like to visit western town someday, pardners.

Apple Bloom chuckled. "My family and I should take Yona to Appleloosa to meet my cousin Braeburn."

The findings continue. Ocellus is looked at as Bookworm. "I've always enjoyed reading. And, not just graphic novels."

Gallas finds that he's connected to the Archer. "The stories of Robin Hood fascinates me. Even though Archer takes that role the wrong way."

Finally, Silverstream was looked at as the Minstrel. "You guys know what I'm like in music class. I appreciate those quiet type instruments."

Soon, Dr. Mixer stepped in. "You all did splendidly. My favorite lab rat with the most science pellets is.......Ocellus."

Ocellus was surprised to hear that. Her friends and Apple Bloom applauded her. This made Ocellus blush. Minutes later, the seven teens left the laboratory.

"And, I thought Professor Nanners had a good experiment." Apple Bloom commented. "Wow!"

"I agree." Smolder replied. "So, what are you up to now, Apple Bloom?"

"I'll probably head back to the Felmander residence. That's where I've been staying throughout the summer."

"Okee Dokee." Gallus said. "The six of us will be celebrating Ocellus' victory. Let's meet again, AB."

Apple Bloom waved good bye to her six companions and headed back to the summer house. She soon had a thought. "With a little over a week left until school starts, I'll have a lot to talk about. Everybody at Canterlot High School won't believe the summer I had."

The farm girl feels very good as she heads back home. Even with about nine days left until the school year starts, Apple Bloom's summer adventures aren't over yet.
