After Fluttershy is mortally wounded by a rouge bear, normal magic can no longer save her, and Twilight is not ready to lose her friend. She remembers a magic that could do things normally impossible: Alicorn Magic, the corrupting, yet potent magic.

Twilight finds an unsettling letter, and proceeds to find where and from who the letter came from, via help from the Princess. Her question is soon answered by the writer of it himself, Thundershock, a new, and very powerful stallion.
