A/N: Side story to Apples Can Cry. I decided to take a break from tragedy, so I wrote this little one shot that popped into my mind after I finished Apples Can Cry. The description makes it sound like Applejack will die, but she won't. This is just a happy little fic, so don't expect any flamethrowers to blast your feels.

It has been two weeks since the murders of Bon Bon the pony and Gilda the Griffon. Ponyville has been evacuated... all except for one stallion who wants to avenge the death of his sister, Twilight Sparkle. He finds Pinkamena but when they fight, it will create a much more vicious monster than Pinkamena ever was.

A/N: Rated mature for a scene that could frighten a bit easily. This isn;t as freaky as the other Pinkamena diane Pie one shots I've written, but it still concludes the story well enough to me.

Midnight. It's the dead of night, when the sky was darkest and the moon shines eerily in the sky. When the lights go dark and the candles burn out, when your too scared to get out of bed and turn on the light. The breathing under your bed and the creak as the closet door shifts ever so slightly, the thumps outside your door and the creaking of floorboards. That shadow moving across the room and the gleam of sharp teeth in the darkness, that sensation that you're not safe and the feeling of malicious eyes boring into the back of your skull.

Twilight Sparkle wasn't alone.

The darkness of an abandoned building as the night claims any signs of light under the creaky roof. The cold of the night air penetrates the warmth and sucks it out, leaving a cold black void. The creak of the floorboards echoing around the empty space, every step could lead you to death. The dancing shadows as they take the forms of nightmares and the stillness of the air, the breathing down your neck and the steps you hear when all is supposed to be quiet. The smell of death and the images of bones in your mind's eye, the brush against your leg and the heavy breathing in the corner.

It's been three weeks since the murders of Twilight Sparkle, Rainbow Dash, Rarity, Applejack, Fluttershy and Spike. Pinkie Pie has gone missing and hasn't been seen since that day and has been declared dead. The library is closed down and in a few days it will be torn down so that the town won't have to face the darkness that lies within.

Gilda decides to pay a visit to the library, just to see what it's like now, but something is hiding in the darkness...
