Things Are Alive

Recently things have been overwhelming- "that's an understatement - the voice ripping through my mind again. It was right though; first I had witnessed Vinyl killed, then she showed up back from the dead, and then she had nearly killed me.

These things had caused me a lot of pain-"it's your own fault" - I disparately want to destroy this voice that's trying to rip my thoughts to shreds. A sudden scream from Vinyl.

I rushed to her aid.

Was that thing back?

What if I got there to late?

I was to scared to pray for anything.

I kicked the door open with such speed and strength I could tell I broke something; was I getting stronger?

I let out a sigh finding Vinyl was fine; well minus the fact that she was tangled up in my bed sheets somehow; on my dresser, wearing random things from my closet, and with a ribbon wrapped her hooves- "He-eeae-eeelp" - it was one of the cutest things I had ever seen.

"How did you get like this?" I was helping her get untangled resisting the urge to tease her. I felt a little playful having found her in such a quirky state.

"I was going to surprise you, with, umm something, but I kinda got stuck" she had one of the cutest blushes; it was taking a lot of effort not to tease her.

"A surprise? What kind of surprise?" After I had gotten her untangled I felt my face go warm; she was wearing one of my older bow ties somewhere you wouldn't normally wear a bow tie.

"Ta-da!" I was salivating as she struck her pose; playful was replaced by lust. She noticed and I was pulled into an extremely warm hug; her body felt feverish against mine. "You have such a velvety coat" I shoved her away with a chill down my spine- "she wants to feed from you - I screamed in my mind at the pain the voice caused.

"Octavia?" she was worried and by the time I regained awareness to my surroundings I was on the bed pressing my ears down; I was trembling and muttering to myself "it's just a dream, it's just a dream" over and over again. I was finally able to make myself look up at Vinyl Scratch; she was worried but also salivating, I saw how hungry she looked in that moment.

When she took a step towards me I nearly screamed out "Octy, a-are you okay?" she had stammered as if distracted by something.

"W-what happened?" I was trembling but was able to force myself up onto my hunches; I bit my lip like I always did when I was nervous. "Ow! that hurt, since when were my teeth so…-" "sharp?" - I almost fell off the bed in a sudden panic caused by the voice; if Vinyl hadn't pushed me down onto the bed so I lay like I did when I wanted to surprise her with; I distracted myself from the thought with the problem at hoof.

"I need to see a mirror" Vinyl had kissed my nose before going to grab a mirror. I was starting to wonder how I could have gone so long without noticing my special marefriend was a vampire. I loved my mirrors and had one in almost every room of the house, and you couldn't say we stuck to the bedroom when we were; well you know.

Vinyl came back in and was levitating a mirror with her magic; I had closed my eyes as she was putting it in front of me. I was afraid of what I would see…- "or not see" - every single word that voice said hurt. I was hesitant but opened my eyes to see nothing but the bed I was on in the reflection; I stifled a scream at this by biting my hoof.

Vinyl was stroking my mane gently when she spoke "are you going to be okay Octy?" I was unsure but I gave a feeble nod that I was.

"I, hope so" she nipped my ear playfully and that had caused me to give a squeak of surprise while I flushed "h-hey that" she started to nibble my ear and I melted "feels nice" I had purred those words.

"I know it does" I felt her hot breath on my ear as she breathed those words. I felt her press her warm body against mine; her coat felt like silk as it brushed against mine "you never answered my question?"

"Hmmm?" I was cuddling up to her.

"Are you up for a round?" I had purred at the thought and rolled onto my back.

"Belly rubs first?" we each have our favorite feelings; mine was belly rubs and hers was rolling in the grass after dark. It tickled at first but shortly after I was smiling and humming.

"Enjoying yourself?" she was beaming at me before she winked at me; she kissed my belly and I flushed with a slight squirm.

"H-hey d-d-don't do-o that" she loved to tease me; it was embarrassing. When she slid her nose up my body to the point that it was touching mine I was wreathing at her touch.

She smiled at me "I thought you loved it when I did that?" I was bright red.

"S-s-so?" she just kissed me; the kind of kiss where the ending was never in sight but when it came you were still wanting.

I was suddenly wrapped up in her warm embrace from behind her hooves playing around with my body; a sweet as honey whisper greeted me "are you okay Octy?

I took a sharp breath and blinked; I was laying on the bed and still staring at that mirror "w-what just-" I gave a faint smile "- it was just my imagination-" "or was it?" - that voice again...

I went to touch the mirror but Vinyl was putting it away and then she was laying besides me "Octy, what's wrong?"

I gave a soft smile "I thought I didn't have a reflection" Vinyl had given me a soft chuckle at that statement before she fell asleep. I considered doing the same but I suddenly wanted to read; I had left my book in our library. I was getting better at getting out of bed without disturbing Vinyl while she slept.

I was pressing my entire body against the door and it was heavier than normal; almost as if it were locked. I pressed harder and with a sudden screech the door burst inwards. If I hadn't been quick it would have woke Vinyl by crashing into the wall.

The library was a dark and scary place after I had shut the door behind me and before I flicked an ember in the fireplace to bring light to the room.

I let at a blood curdling scream that was the loudest scream in my life.
