Chapter 4: It's My Job

As they approached the city, Luna started to feel more aware of her surroundings. She had learned from her experience with the humans, and she didn't want anymore trouble. Shadow, on the other hand, paid more attention on finding the chaos emerald hidden inside the city. He sped through the city at the speed of sound searching the streets and on top of buildings for the emerald. Then he ran back to Luna, who was walking down a deserted part of the city.

"No luck." He informed her. Luna wondered about something else.

"Not to change the subject, but how are you able to run that fast without wings?" She asked.

"I was created to run that fast, but I'm not the only one who can travel at the speed of sound." He answered. Luna looked at him realizing that running that fast was natural in Mobius.

"Should I use my gem finding spell again?" She said.

"Yeah, I can't find it anywhere." He replied. With that said, Luna's horn lit up again. She looked left, then right. Then she started walking toward big tower. It read GUN forces on the top of its entrance.

"Oh, no." Luna and Shadow said together. It was bad news for Luna because these were the humans who gave her trouble before. It was bad news for Shadow because whatever goes to the GUN stays there. If he were to talk the emerald away from them, because they're humans and they act this way, they would hate him again. They both looked at each other worried about what will happen when they walk in. Then they looked back at the building and started to walk toward it. As they approached the building, Luna had a strange feeling about something. When they got to the point where they were just a few feet away from the door, a net fell on top of Luna. It was pulled down to the ground, and Luna fell with it. Four GUN soldiers held the net down with all of their might. Luna, trapped, tried to set herself free by pushing up on the net, but the forces were too strong. Shadow stood by amused, but calm. Then Commander Tower emerged from the building. He looked at the helpless alicorn, then at Shadow.

"Good work Shadow. We'll take it from here." The commander said to Shadow, who looked at Luna. Luna looked back at Shadow with a look saying, "Why?" Shadow looked away from Luna, hiding his empathy. Then he disappeared leaving poor Luna in the GUN's hands. Luna looked at the commander.

"What do you want from me?" Luna said eagerly.

"We just want to run some tests." The commander replied with a grin in his face. He looked at his soldiers and nodded at them. As he did, the four soldiers took the net with the alicorn trapped inside and hauled it into the building. Luna, scared, looked at the nighttime sky wondering, "Did he mean to do this?" referring to Shadow.
