Chapter 5: Loyalty

Shadow stood on the hill outside of the city again, wondering about what just happened and what he had done. He thought about it for a long time. "Was it right to do that?" He asked himself. Then he felt something he's never felt before. It was a kind of pain that he didn't recognize. He felt a little pain in his heart, and he wasn't used to it. He began to wonder if this was because he let Luna go like that. Whatever it was, he didn't like it and he wanted to get rid of the feeling. He tried not to think about Luna, but the pain wouldn't go. He looked at the solar eclipse that was the main attraction in the nighttime sky. Why was this happening? What should he do now?

It was just awful for Luna. She was trapped inside a room where there was nothing but steal walls surrounding her. She wasn't claustrophobic, but she was scared out of her misery. She's never been so terrified before. What were they planning on doing with her? How was she going to escape this? She had no idea what they were about to do to her. Just then, she was hit with something hard, so hard that it passed her out. She laid on the cold, hard ground in the room. Four other soldiers came into the room and carried the unconscious alicorn out of the room.

Later, Luna woke up and found herself strapped down to a bedspread. She could see strange tools sitting all over the new room. Her hooves were stuck inside the metal straps that kept her in place. She squirmed in her position, but she couldn't free herself. Then something moved in front of her. It wasn't human, but it was a more robotic machine carrying some sharp tools. Luna, then, realized what was about to happen, and she panicked. She squirmed even more. She tried using the teleportation spell, but it didn't work. Nothing worked. She was trapped, about to become a science experiment. Then, despite the fact that all hope was lost for her, she cried, "SHADOW!!!" using her royal canterlot voice.

                                                           ---------------------------------------------

Suddenly, Shadow had the urge to go back and rescue Luna from GUN. He didn't know what made him do it, but by traveling at the speed of sound, he was inside the city in an instant. He sped to the building, inside the room Luna laid in, and attacked the robot that was about to cut her in half. After Shadow's attack, the robot lay in scraps on the floor. Shadow went over to Luna to release her.

"You came back?" Luna asked as her hooves were set free.

"I don't know why, but yes, I did." Shadow replied. Luna stood up, and as she did, and alarm was set off. "We need to go now." Shadow commanded. Then he and Luna sped through the halls of the building. "Get yourself out while I find the chaos emerald." Shadow ordered.

"I'm not leaving without you!" Luna replied. She couldn't leave him now. Not after what she's been through. Shadow looked at her. Moved with pity, he let her come along. Luna's horn lit up again to help find which room the emerald was hidden in. The zoomed past many rooms and halls, until they came to a stop in front of the control room. They looked inside to find only a grey chaos emerald shinning in the middle of the room and nothing else. They entered the room, quickly grabbed the emerald, and exit the building quickly. They sped toward the outside of the city to make sure they weren't being followed. They came to a stop at the hill of which Shadow liked to stand. They had a chance to catch their breath, and the looked back at the city then at each other. With the past behind them, the nodded to each other and headed to their next destination.

Laying on one of the more puffier clouds lay an unconscious Rainbow Dash with her element of harmony, loyalty, around her neck.. Like AJ's, the element wasn't as bright as it should have been. But after the event Luna and Shadow had gone through, her element, suddenly, lit up. She was lifted into the air and was revived from her sleep. She stood on the cloud and looked around, only to find the cloudy sky at nighttime.

"Wha...what happened?" She asked herself. Then she remembered her friends. She looked down from her cloud to find a city in the distance. Then she spread her wings and took off, thinking there might be something there that would help her find her friends. But she also saw a blue light speeding through the land. She decided maybe the city can wait, and find out what that blue light was.
