Cyrodiil, on the continent of Tamriel, in the world of Nirn, resides between Elsweyr and Skyrim. It is a warm land, with green plains and rolling hills. Mountains dotting the landscape provide variety to this beautiful country. but if you think this land has known nothing but peace, you are mistaken.
In fact, this land has been subject to one of the worst evils l known to man, Mehrunes Dagon. Mehrunes Dagon is a daedric prince, which are beings that reside in another world, but are powerful enough to cast their influences on Nirn. Each one of these sixteen god-like creatures has their own 'element', whether it be knowledge, dreams, or darkness. Mehrunes Dagon is the prince of destruction, and for this is a foe of all mortal races, even though there are some foolish enough to worship him as their god.
Mehrunes Dagon caused what is called the Oblivion crisis when he attempted to bring his world into Nirn, so that he may take it over. He was stopped when the emperor of Cyrodiil's son, Martin Septim, sacrificed himself to send him back into Oblivion. Martin was not alone on this task though, and would not have succeeded without the help of the Champion of Cyrodiil.
The Champion spent the next two years roaming Cyrodiil, with nowhere to go. He would accept bounties and do favors for merchants. He joined the Fighter's and the Mage's guild. He stopped another incident that nearly ended the world, and became the Arch-Mage. It is also rumored that the champion joined a secret order of assassins known as the Dark Brotherhood, and rides a midnight black horse by the name of Shadowmere.
