New Pony, New Place

The train had just arrived at Ponyville, Wires grabbed her belongings and walked off in an attempt to find her new home. Wires legs were slightly cramped from the three hour train ride from Las Peagsus to Ponyville. Wires really enjoyed living in Las Pegasus, but she wanted to start a new life and her new business. Staring at the same walls for twenty years isn't exactly fun in her mind.

Slipping away from her deep thoughts of the new life she had begun, Wires noticed that the sun was going down. She didn't want to be out in the dark in a new town. Frightened that she would be caught in the dark, Wires began to trot, trying to find her home, but soon found herself beginning to get lost. After a day of being stuck on a hot and cramped train, she had finally lost it.

"Why can't I find my damn house?!" Wires screamed breathlessly into the air.

Now Luna's moon was high in the sky and it was the only way Wires was able to see five feet in front of her. While walking through the night, the temperature had dropped and the wind picked up. Wires legs quickly became cold and numb as the wind continued to tear at her legs. In the distance, Wires saw a motel and decided that it would be better to stay there, so she could be safe and warm. Plus, it seemed like a better idea to search for her house the next day.

Walking was starting to hurt Wires, so she quickly made it to the motels door, so her legs didn't have to suffer the cold bite of the night's wind. Wires walked in as warmth invaded her body. She stood there for a moment letting the heat calm her, making her feel content and safe.

Wires saw a gray and black mane behind the counter, and decide to ask him for a room.

"Um hi, can I get a room for the night, please?" Wires asked, while still shivering a bit.

The mysterious colt turned around to face Wires and took an ear bud out of one of his ears.

"Sure, only 10 bits." He replied.

Wires found herself staring into the young colt's watery blue eyes, but quickly noticing what she was doing. She looked down and grabbed her wallet out of her sweatshirt.

"Sorry." Wires mumbled. Her face began to grow hot as a dark shade of crimson founds it's way across her cheeks.

"No, I'm sorry," said the young colt with a small smile. "I haven't fully introduced myself," he said. "My name is High Score. Yours?"

"Oh, heh, my name is Wires, nice to meet you." She said.

High Score grabbed the key out of the drawer and stretched his hoof over the counter to hand the key to Wires. His sleek whit coat caught Wires attention, and so did his mane. But, his eyes were the best feature about him and she didn't know exactly why. Wires couldn't deny that High Score was a handsome looking colt. Wanting to admire High Score some more, Wires saw out of the corner of her eye that he was holding the key to her room. Not wanting to make the night anymore awkward between them, they both exchanged small smiles before Wires headed down the hall, with the key, to her room.

Opening the door quietly, Wires whispered to herself,

"Jeez, what the hell is wrong with me now-a-days?"

Wires placed her room key on top of a wooden table and headed towards the bathroom. She slipped off her sweatshirt and turned on the shower. Jumping into the shower, Wires let the warm drops of water splash on her mane, roll down mane, and roll down her back. It felt comforting after a long day of packing and being stuck on the train. All she wanted to do was go to sleep and rest for tomorrow. Drying herself off and jumping into bed, Wires slowly brought the warm and soft flat blankets on top of her. Usually in such comfort, Wires would be able to fall asleep immediately, but the thoughts of the blue eyed colt were starting to cloud her mind, blocking sleep.
