Flying Into Trouble

Previous Chapter

Wires awoke with a start. She was extremely tried from the lack of sleep she had. Suddenly, the past days events rushed back into her mind, slightly shocking her. Wires gently pushed the blankets off of herself and headed towards the bathroom. She turned the faucet on and rinsed her face, hoping that it would at least wake her up and clam the crazy thoughts that were running through her head. With a little struggling, Wires was able to brush her purple and blue mane, and got ready for the day. Unfortunately, the thought of High Score never left her mind. Wires was starting to become frightened from the sudden emotions that High Score would bring upon her.

"I've only seen this colt once, and I'm already falling in love with him!" Wires shouted, "I must be going crazy."

Someone must have heard her shouting, because there was a knock on the door.

"Miss, are you OK?" a stranger questioned from behind the closed door.

"Don't worry. I'm fine." Wires answered.

With that, she heard the stranger walk away from the door. Wires picked up her sweatshirt off the ground and put in on. At this point, she just wanted to leave the motel and go to her home. Wires picked up the rest of her belongings in the room and headed down the hallway towards the counter where she got her key. Luckily for Wires, High Score wasn't working, so she just placed her key on the counter and walked out in search of her new home.

While walking out of the motel, Wires was able to see the full beauty and extent of Ponyville. The flowers and trees gave off a sweet aroma, which filled her nose and made her feel at ease with herself.

Finally, Wires was able to find her home, it was a cloud, obviously, because she was born a pegasus. While at the motel, sleeping on the somewhat comfortable bed had contributed to her lack of sleep the night before. In her mind, a cloud was the softest thing in all of Equestria that a pony could sleep on. Nothing could match it. Could she be wrong? Maybe. As soon as Wires flew into her new home, she started unpacking what little she had. Not having a lot of possessions made her life a lot easier, so unpacking was a breeze. The one problem was that once Wires was done unpacking, she had nothing to do, so Wires went out to fly for a short period of time over Ponyville.

In Wires mind, nothing worse could have happened while she was out. As Wires left her house, she could feel the drops of rain fall down her back, but not wanting to turn back. So, Wires continued flying, enduring the rain's cold touch. While flying, the rain started to cloud her vision and she could no longer see in front of her. Knowing that it would be basically impossible for her to try and find her home, Wires swooped down, thinking the ground would be a safe place to get her bearing. Wires was sadly mistaken, because of her poor eyesight caused by the rain, made Wires collide with something. And HARD.

Wires now lay silently on the ground as the rain pelted her white coat, letting mud soak her from head to hoof. Wires was in such shock from the collision, that she couldn't even scream for help. Wires tried to stand several times, but only found her body slamming back into the mud every time. For the first time in what seemed like forever, tears started to gently stream down her face. Never has Wires felt so helpless before. Wires thought she was out of hope, going to die of hypothermia, until she heard the sound of hooves, galloping towards her. She tried to scream for help once again, but only found that her voice was still stuck in her throat.

Suddenly, Wires felt hooves wrap around her as she gently placed on the stranger's back. Whoever this pony was, Wires owed this pony big time. The rain continued to pelt her body while on the strangers back until suddenly, it all stopped. Wires opened her eyes for the first time since her unfortunate collision. She was lightly placed on the strangers couch. Wires was about to thank the stranger until warm blankets were carefully placed on top of her. In a matter of seconds, Wires fell into a deep and restless sleep.

A couple of hours later, Wires woke up and attempted to move, forgetting about what had happened to her earlier. As she tried to lift one of her back legs, she could feel a sharp pain shoot up her back and she immediately lay back down, giving up.
