Chapters On the planet of New Earth in a lab separated from outside influence sat a lone machine. A human who was upgraded a while ago.
This human was clever, able to give the lone timelord a run for his money.
This human was the lone creator and controller of a billion nanobots, all loyal to him.
He had a plan, to use his nanobots as a part of him in his metal suit. He succeeded, and became fully human in a robot's form. With this he was able to get knowledge only timelords had. He upgraded himself with their technology and became the best science would be, and he was satisfied. He used his natural technology to view and experience all of time, making him wiser than all, and 500 trillion years old.
He has lived this long, and he wants to do the impossible: make it past the reset point. He has combined his inner technology as one, making this possible. He has kept only three things constant from his creation. His personality, his emotions, and his human outer shape. Inside of his shell is the same size, the machines like organs and wires like blood vessels. Where his heart would be is an eye of harmony, a star suspended in time, courtesy of the timelords, shrunken to the size of a heart. It creates pure energy collected by advanced solar panels, moved around by Wire Set 1.
His brain was made into the best computer in the universe, keeping personality, imagination, mindscape and emotions intact. This is the core and is heavily armored, and is able to move at a moments notice if it is in danger. Inside his empty shell where nothing would normally be, there is nanobots. A billion of them, connected to the hands of the human cyborg. Tools for him to make anything he needs.
At this time, he has already set up his time drive. Behind his brain, the orb of a computer, is this time drive. A machine that connects into his eyesight, letting him see what time he wants to go to. Around the time drive, he is building something else. A multi-dimensional add-on that was made for a one time jump to a new dimension. It would take most of his power, and he would lay dormant for at least a weak, but he would be able to survive longer past the reset point of the time stream.
Any minute now, the machine would be ready, and he would be off.
"What is the progress of the MDD?" Code asked. He was sure it was almost done. 'it's been an hour, it should at least be close'.
"99% complete, Code. We need time to iron out all the bugs so you can have a choice at the dimension." Replied the Nanobot swarm AI from his shoulder.
Code was internally glad he had that idea. 'One of my better ones' he thought to himself. The nanobot swarm leader was his own personal assistant, able to help him in any way he needed. Although Code was the controller of the nanobots, the swarm leader was able to control them if control was given to him. And, well, it was nice to have some company. "Good, that means everything is going to plan. We mi-" Code almost said, but was cut off by what sounded like an explosion.
"Sir, the MDD is incomplete, but we need to leave now. You will not have a choice on dimension, but we don't have any more time. Shall I activate the device?"
"Yes, and hurry it up! Send the rest of the nanobots back in their place and activate the machine. We need HASTE!" Yelled back Code. The AI on his shoulder nodded and melted into his shoulder, followed by the nanobots through his hand. Code nodded and a small orb lifted a few feet from his head and spread out into a perfect sphere around him. The sphere flooded with electricity and then imploded, and Code was off.
Code was greeted with what looked like bubbles. He took in as much information as he could before something in his head imploded, the MDD he thought, and he was sent to the closest one. He was thrust forwards and past a giant black disk, and was greeted with more bubbles. He was sent off in the same direction and a hold appeared in one of the bubbles. This hole sucked him in with great force and he was out like a light when he passed through it. His last thought to himself was a simple; 'I did it! Yes!'.
It was a nice day in ponyville as ponies happily trotted through the market. Everything was peaceful, not a strange thing had happened since the girls had gotten back from the gala. "Worst gala ever" according to half of Canterlot. This elicited a giggle from Pinkie Pie as she walked by town hall. It reminded her of that funny ending with the princess. That funny thought was ended with a twitchy tail, to which she panicked, and put on a rainbow head umbrella. Every other pony in the area saw this, and quickly did the same.
As the ponies were looking up, they noticed only one thing. A small black hole had appeared in the sky over the sun, and a silver thing had appeared out of it. The ponies all vacated the area, and watched the object fall. The object in question had yelled something in a language that wasn't comprehensible and a blue sphere flashed around it, hanging from the black hole above. The black hole quickly left, and the object kept falling like a giant raindrop. A few pegasus ponies tried to stop it, only to find that they couldn't get close to it without being repelled by an unknown force.
As the object neared the ground, the edge of the two story raindrop was forced down until it was a perfect sphere. The sphere shot three circle pulses at the ground below it, slowing it down, until fading out, and letting the silver object fall the last five feet onto the ground. The object looked like a living creature made of metal, and while it would normally be interesting, it looked to be unconscious. If it was a living being, it needed help, and Pinkie Pie knew just what to do!
'I better take it to Applejack's! She could house this thingy until it wakes up!' She thought with a grin, and, with the robot on her back, started trotting off to Sweet Apple Acres.
Inside Applejacks barn was what looked like a metal... thing, there was no other way to describe it. It seemed to be sleeping, but it wasn't showing any signs of being alive. From pure curiosity, it was left alone until it awoke, as nothing anypony had done to try and study it worked. Magic wouldn't effect it, the greatest minds couldn't disassemble it, as if a force of nature was protecting it. Through the week of it staying there, many ponies had come to try and do something to learn from it. On the first day, the Elements of Harmony had tried on it, having it being in the barn of one of them.
In this day, nothing much had happened. They had what would be a boring and generic discussion on it and what to do with it, and decided it would be studied.
Well, more so that Twilight Sparkle vowed to learn about it and proceeded to try everything possible for two days, gaining nothing. Eventually said force of nature that was protecting the object decided it was annoyed with Twilight and, on the beginning of the third day, threw Twilight a good twenty feet outside the barn. Through the side. The girls unanimously decided to stop studying it that day.
On the fourth day, Celestia and Luna came to the barn, only to find the object laying in the exact same position with a few blue sparks around what looked like a head. The body flashed, and the princesses decided the leave it alone, and let it do whatever it was doing. Nopony else went to do anything with it, and just waited.
As Applejack walked into the barn on the Eighth day, she say the object glowing a bright light blue, and called for the girls to come over quick. It was fast, since Rainbow Dash was with AJ this day, so the girls eventually got to the barn in time to watch the spectacle happen.
"Vocal system online." Code announced automatically, having the blue light stop glowing around its mouth. "Translator system working and connected to Vocal system." He announced again, oblivious to those around him. And why would he know? I don't know, answer that for yourself, reader. The girls now around him at a safe distance watched as the blue light around certain areas faded into a green, then shut off. "Electronic eyesight, radar system and sonar system online. Moving back to Main Computer." It announced, the green glow moving to the inside of the things head. The glow moved to the middle of his chest. "Now reawakening link with the eye of harmony. Restarting inner-power grid." This caught the girls attention in a way. This thing had something to do with harmony? Maybe it had come for them, to test them...
The glow turned to the rest of its lower body. "Activating artificial muscle program. Error detected in lower legs, activating hand levitation." A glow appeared in the tips of something at the machine as it lifted in the air, the glow covering his body and encasing him. In the bubble, Code righted his body before setting back down on the hay bales. The glow stopped from his hands and turned from red to green. "Body righted, activate limbs." The glow now raced to his head again, having stopped from his body. "Activating anti-spy ware program from eye of harmony. Cleansing of impurities." The now bipedal being, still laying on its back, began to glow white. The white light began to disintegrate from Code, and ended at his feet.
"Cleansed, now activating inner command computer. Restarting consciousness." Code announced, the gained back his mind. He stayed still for a moment, and decided he shouldn't get up until a scan was done. From his eyes, a green flat beam appeared and started swaying in the room, getting everything in its light. "All other novelty devices up and running. Nanobot AI system back online." Said the new mechanical bird from Codes shoulder.
Code released a sigh when all he scanned were six female, somewhat intelligent horses. He was hoping for something like this. Mostly the part about not humans and semi intelligent. And in a barn, and not a lab. Apparently his nanobots knew what he wanted. He slowly got up from his little hay bed and got a good look at his barn-mates. He knew they didn't live there, but he liked the pun anyways. He already had names and now faces to associate them with, he didn't feel the need to explain them to himself. And if any of you don't know the elements, you shouldn't be here.
As he was about to speak, he was interrupted by a groan of frustration, followed by a panic from the purple one, who was apparently called Twilight Sparkle, looking around for something. Noticing the quill and notepad in the piles of hay in the corner, Code reached out with a small pulse of electrical energy and floated them to the unicorn, who grabbed them in haste with some kind of other pure energy and a "Oh! Thanks!"
Then, everything stopped as the unicorn looked upon the notepad, which stared back blankly at her. Following another groan, she yelled out a very loud, "NOOO, I FORGOT TO TAKE NOTES!!!!!!"
This was responded by the laughter of everything in the room, including Code.
The laughing quickly subsided when all the ponies realized that they were laughing with what can only be explained as an alien robot straight out of a si-fi movie. Now having that revelation hit in full effect, everypony turned to look at Code with something along the likes of two with fear, two with aggressiveness, one with curiosity, and one still laughing. The last one was ignored by all the others as the white one, Rarity, decided to break the silence with the golden question.
"What are you?" She asked in wonder. Yeah, that's the golden question.
Code was about to respond a rather simplified explanation, before somepony else stole his thunder. "Yeah, what are you, and what are you doing here in Equestria!" The blue one aggressively half accused half asked. Again, Code tried to respond, only to be cut off by Twilight.
"And where do you come from...?" She also asked in wonder. Code waited on this one, looking around. The pink one seemed to have gotten her bearings. Pinkie pie was her name, apparently. Fitting. The yellow one, Fluttershy, was still cowering a bit. Well, she lives up to her name. And the orange one, Applejack, was respectively being quiet.
"Well, to answer your questions in order, I used to be what is a human, before my mind was made into this robotic suit as a test of my technology. This makes me a cyborg." Code said. He decided to be entirely honest, something he thought would appeal to them. "Now, normally I would ask why I am here, but it takes question three to answer that. I am from New Earth, a planet that was just about to receive annihilation attributed to the end of that dimension. The reason I am here is that I used a one time device designed and made by me to escape the end. My main objective here is to get as much knowledge as I can." Twilight seemed to look up at that, glad something shared her curiosity. Then something seemed to come to her mind.
"If you can talk, you must be intelligent. If you are, what is your name? And how intelligent are you?" She asked, seeming to write things down in her notepad. Code decided that he should answer not just the important questions, but also the random and whimsical ones.
"Well, my name is Code, and on intelligence scale, I would guess pretty high. I have lived for well over 100 trillion years." This elicited a gasp out of the ponies around him, surprised that something could live so long. "Do you mind if I ask some of my own questions?" The girls all nodded there heads and sat down on there haunches. Guessing this would take a long time. "Now if you don't mind, I will be turning on one of my scanners so I can tell when there is a lie. Is this alright with you?"
Again, nodding, Coupled by a smile from Applejack. "Well alright then!" Code said excitedly, he was always glad to learn something more, and even with his age, he sometimes acted like a child when the opportunity arrived. "Now, what is your type of government and who are your leaders?" Code asked.
"Well, we live in a diarchy under the two princesses." Twilight responded.
"So there are no kings or queens? If so, then how do they choose successors?"
At this point, the rest of the girls decided they had better leave this to Twilight, and left the barn so that they could have there question and answer session.
"Well, there are no kings and queens, the princesses are immortal."
"I take it they have earned there status as ruler someway besides being immortal. Can you elaborate?"
To this, Twilight eagerly nodded, happy that the topic was one she loved. "Well, they are alicorns, a rare breed of us which makes them have wings, a horn, and the strength of an earth pony. They are very kind rulers, and they are responsible for the rise of the sun and moon!" She happily said, only to look at Code trying hard not to laugh.
"I will get on why they are liars later, but I will take your word for it that they deserve there spots, especially if somepony is genuinely happy to talk about them. Now, what is the significance of the horn on your head. In fact, with this can you explain how the pegasi fly? I'll set up a statue for you to show it from." Code then outstretched his arms to the side, opening his hands. A small mass of gray flew out and moved to the ground a few feet away from them. From that, a pure iron statue of Rainbow Dash was created without the mane stripes. Twilight stared slack jawed at it before Code clapped his hands and she was brought back to reality.
"Well, I can answer both questions easily. Magic. Each pony has innate magic in their body that lets them do unique things. This magic not only gives us cutie marks when we figure out our special talent," she said, pointing at her flank. So this was what the mark was called. "but it also gives pegasi the power of flight, even if they don't have the wingspan, earth ponies extra strength and an innate connection with the earth, and it gives unicorns like me a basic control over it."
Code thought for a second, before turning his force field down a bit. "Can you use your magic on me? Something harmless please." Code said. Twilight nodded and used a simple levitation spell on Code. The aura wrapped around him as he was lifted from the ground for a few seconds and then brought back down. At the beginning, Code turned on the nanobots scan mode and opened his hands. The magic wrapped around every single nanobot, giving them all a different thing to scan about it.
A million of the and Code himself scanned how it was done and gathered that it was done by manipulating a pure energy around and in you. With this information, after the millisecond of scanning, the nanobots went to work at the shell of his body to make something to absorb this energy. Some more nanobots at the start scanned on what the energy was, while others scanned it's source. The source was revealed to be the sun and the core of the planet while also relating to space itself. With all this information, the nanobots continued to work with a purpose now. As he was set down and the aura was out, Code automatically announced: "Magic Upgrade in progress. 10% complete." A small blue glow appeared all around him as electricity moved to signify the nanobot upgrading.
Twilight decided to immediately take notes on this, watching as the glow decreased and decreased. About half way through, Code announced "Magic Upgrade 50%. Absorbents complete. Starting on focal point settings and wire connections." The glow moved more quickly this time, breaking up a lot faster. "Activating new connection through eye of harmony." Code himself noticed a change in the eye, and scanned it. He noticed that the star was releasing the magic that was scanned from Twilight, and put more absorbents around its chamber. He theorized that this would give him an infinite supply of the stuff, so he put extra care into those. "Magic Upgrade 75%, building storage unit." Code announced.
Now the glow moved completely to his chest, having a circle of electricity in the middle. The glow quickly turned green, and spread out to a good amount, making it look like a green band around his midsection. "Magic Upgrade 95%, ironing out bugs and activating devices." The glow turned to a dull yellow, turning very slowly back into a green. Once completed, the green glow stopped, and Code announced: "Magic Upgrade complete. Magic is now accessible to home body unit."
With this, Code snapped out of his stupor and, still standing, flexed out his hands. He decided to add a protection to this magic to his force field, to his body, and add a radiate addition to the outer absorbents. This way, when his storage reached top levels like his normal electricity, it would radiate off of him, giving him a small intimidation factor. He reached out his hand to the side and a green/black aura appeared around his fingertips, and, reaching out with his magic to it, appeared around the statue. Code realized quickly that he could do anything with this, so he lifted the statue up in the air. With some thinking, he sent out nanobots on the stream of magic only now visible to Code. The nanobots destroyed the statue within Codes grasp, and Twilight stared slack jawed again at the sight. When the entire thing was gone, the magic faded out and the nanobots went back into his body.
Twilight shook hew head, trying hard to stop her own curiosity from this display. "Do you have any more questions?" She asked as politely as she could. She sent a small message to Spike to get a message ready for the princess with her magic, and it went through one of Codes nanobots that were still hanging around the barn. The nanobot sent the information back to Code and, with the info, Code learned how to do so.
"I would first like to ask you if you could teach me how to do magic in the first place, so I can get a better use for it." To this, Twilight nodded her head over excitedly, giddy at the thought of teaching someone magic. "Also, my only other actual question is, would you like to start asking some of your own?"
Twilight nodded again, getting out her notepad and quill again. She decided to ask her questions all at once. Code noticed this and turned on the recorder setting on his ears. She asked question after question after question, quickly deciding to get the important ones out first. "What is the eye of harmony? Does it have anything to do with the Elements of Harmony? What were those things that made the statue? How did you give yourself the ability to do magic?"
"In order, the eye of harmony is a star frozen in time to give out infinite amounts of solar energy. It is inside me in a void orb that is in a sub dimension anchored to me. This star, since it is frozen in time, will never die out. A perfect energy source courtesy of the time lords. Don't ask who they are. This has no connection to whatever the Elements of Harmony are, so if you could explain those, that would be great. The things that made and destroyed the statue are nanobots, small robots as big as a germ made by me and only by me under my command. I am a cybernetic machine, so I can build off of myself to upgrade my abilities. I did this with your magic."
"Okay... well, the elements are six artifacts used by me, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Rarity, Applejack and Pinkie pie, the mares you saw earlier, through the magic of friendship. They work to preserve harmony in this land. Now, I need to check this out with my friends, can I trust you to stay here?"
"Instead, can I leave and make my own house somewhere? I promise it will be somewhere not owned." Twilight nodded, and told him about the entrance to someplace called Whitetail woods, giving directions. Code nodded, and starting walking towards the place, ignoring the ponies outside. With Code walking towards his to be made home, Twilight and her friends went back to the library to send a letter to Celestia.
Following this, a vengeful laugh was heard through the Canterlot gardens, and a white crack appeared in a mismatched statue...
Something Something Chaos...
Code looked upon his new bunker. Just a small half sphere above the ground, it isn't much to look at. Under it was a very big base of operations, currently sending nano cams around the world to get information on the environment. It seemed this was an inter-species world but it was very low on the technology level. They did have a lot of information on magic though, so Code decided he needed to stay here for that experience and teaching.
This planet seemed to have chimeras aplenty, but so far the cause for the fact that they can stay a species and the original animals seem to be a mystery. This world seems to be mainly quadrupedal when it comes to the sentient species. Ponies, Minotaurs with half bull, Griffons with half lion, Zebra, Donkey, Dragon, and bug equine known currently as a Changeling. The only species he say as a problem, and therefor put on special notice, were the dragon, hydra, and alicorn. All of them almost super beings.
Remembering this, Code sent the research swarms to study graphene. He needed something to make it so he couldn't be hurt or threatened by other races. He looked at the blueprint and the magic force field to check for any imperfections and, finding none, set off to town.
Honestly, nothing really happened on the trail. The only things of note were the blatant disregard of physics at the apple orchard. The corn stalks exploding into popcorn, the cotton candy cloud, the chocolate rain, the long legged animals and that very recognizable chaos magic in the air. When Code sent a data swarm of nanobots to scan the magic, he recognized it as different and sent a swarm of research bots to separate and scan it and report to the research center. He nodded to himself knowing the task would be done effectively and even if they were to be destroyed, the video would be in tact in the bunker. He went back on his walk to the library in silence...
Then he figured out he didn't know where to go, so he went to find a map. After about ten minutes of searching, he got to the middle of town, and noticed just now that everypony was running from him. 'My predictions were right...' he thought to himself as he scanned the map. He would normally try to find a way to get the ponies to trust him, but he was just in a reading mood. Apparently his crash landing had done a number on these ponies, and they don't know a thing about trust. So, alone and now having memorized the map, he went off on his way to the library. Again.
Finally knowing his way this time, he found his destination in record time. Knowing that this was a public library, he walked inside to find the main room. Odd that it had no desk, but Code didn't care. He went and sat in a chair near the left wall and thought to himself what was important to read. He eventually chose to read up on teleportation spells and combat magic, feeling that they could be more useful that anything else. Self defense and transportation, he thought to himself, time to get reading...
Youtube Video
Code closed his hundredth book on offensive magic, just realizing he let himself get engrossed in his reading. He looked up to check the time, for some reason not thinking to check his internal clock, and saw the door open to reveal 4 gray and one irritated Twilight Sparkle. While they all walked in, Code saw the malicious look on the gray Fluttershy, but chose to ignore it. When he was about to ask what was going on, somepony asked him a question.
"Hey, what's soaking wet and clueless?" Fluttershy asked from above him. Before he could respond, a bunch of water was dumped on him and fried his circuits and responded a very mean, "You're face!" And slammed the bucket on the now steaming cyborg. Twilight noticed that the robot was getting very hurt by the water and dried him as best as she could, taking the bucket off of his head as well. She walked away to start looking for... something, while Code was just getting back online.
After he finished restarting, Code looked at the same pony that had fried him being mean to Twilight. He didn't really care about the latter, so he just sent a bolt of electricity to Fluttershy. Not enough to knock her out, but enough to shut her up. Noticing the others also being not very fun to be around, he left the library.
As he was walking, he noticed how wrong the landscape was, and connected it to the strange magic from the farm earlier. The ground was soap and checkerboard, the day and night kept changing, the sky was solid and not just the atmosphere unlike earlier... wait. What? Code sent up nanobots to check the sky and it indeed was a solid object, made of paper that was somehow still up there. He thought about it and told the nanobots to destroy it, not wanting this planet to be harmed to much. It was his home, after all.
Once the paper was gone and the sky was fixed to the nighttime it should be, he nodded and looked straight ahead to the smiling face of a goat. A chimera, if the nanobots scanned him correctly. This was the source of the magic, according to the magic strands.
"Ooh, what do we have here? A party pooper, obviously, but still, I haven't seen anything like you before." He said in a joking voice. Code felt the magic prod at his core computer and responded by breaking it in the middle, making a big backlash shock at the creature. 'If he was trying to do that up there and trying to read my computer, I shouldn't trust him. Of course, if I let him he would be most likely having a stroke with the base elements of my knowledge library, but still.'
"Ow, oh I hope that wasn't you who did that. Ponies who hurt me don't tend to survive very long. Oh, but you are not a pony, are you? Well, I think I'll just have to force my way in to your mind for my information, thank you very much." The creature, currently titled a draconequus by the name of Discord by their ruler (they couldn't detect the nanobots, so he got away scot free), supercharged his eagle hand with magic and moved to Code's forehead...
Discord appeared in a blank landscape, a flat white floor going in all directions. His smile faltered, not sure how he got here. In front of him, Code appeared out of nowhere, a smirk on his face. Behind him, a giant wall of pure black fire that gave Discord a startle burst out of the ground, moving straight up.
"Welcome Discord. This is the firewall, and I am a projection of the computer you are trying to get into. Do you have any questions?" The hologram chuckles at the chimeras face, the confusion spread to immeasurable levels on Discords face. He shakes it off before nonchalantly walking into the fire wall. He walks up to it, fully intending to teleport to the other side. He snaps his fingers and feels the pulling sensation of teleportation. There was a new feeling though, like elastic was stretching incredibly thin. The feeling bounced back into place on the wall and Discord found himself being flung back a good 30 feet.
He quickly got up and decided he wanted answers. "Just where are we, and what is... that?"
"We are on the outer side of the firewall. That is the firewall." The hologram said.
"Yes, I know that, but what is this place? I have never seen a mind like this, especially one that I couldn't crack."
"This is the first and weakest of the protections on master Codes computer core. What you think to be a mind is right now a machine. You will not crack into it, even if you pass this defense. Even if you get to the core of information, you will never leave alive. No matter how great you believe yourself to be, deity of chaos, you will not survive the look into infinity." Discord doubled over in laughter at this and wiped a tear from his eye.
After calming himself down, he turned and looked at the hologram. "Well, I think I can prove you wrong on that one. In fact, I will get to the core and see everything, and come out in stride just to spite you!"
The hologram didn't even bat an eye at this. "If you wish the worse death that will ever be, you may proceed. But I must warn you, what comes up is dangerous for a virus like you. 010000010100001101000011010001010101001101010011001000000101001001001111010101010101010001001001010011100100010100100000001100000010110101000001010011000101000001001000010000010010111000100000010001000100010101000001010000110101010001001001010101100100000101010100010001010010000001010100010010000100010100100000010001100100100101010010010001010101011101000001010011000100110000101110" With this, the hologram disappeared, the firewall with it. All that was left was a black door, green 0's and 1's moving in a perfect horizontal line across it. Discord smiled at this, and walked through the door.
On the other side, he appeared in a perfect box. The walls, floor, and ceiling a perfect black with a green outline. Discord quickly found out that all of his magic was gone. From in the top left corner a speaker appeared and started talking to him.
"Welcome, virus, to the first barrier to block trespassers into the computer core. In this test you have a 10 layered maze in which you start at the bottom right corner and end in the top left. The maze is ever changing and swapping floors, bringing the exits and you with them. Each level is different in it's own unique way. This is level one. For each second you spend in this maze it will get hotter and hotter, max heat levels reach the form of gaseous lava. This is reached at the time frame of ten hours. Do you still wish to proceed?" It said in a monotone digital voice.
Discord looked a little unsure of himself at this point. No magic, ten floors, each of them a maze more deadlier then the last, and this one was pretty damn deadly. He shook it off and nodded to himself, and the speaker mistook it as an affirmative.
"The trial will begin in 60 seconds. If you wish to leave you will yell that you surrender. If you fail the mission and die in the maze, you will die in the physical plane. Each level will get harder and harder as you get higher and higher. As the rooms move, if this one gets higher than another, trap holes will be added. If you fall in a trap hole you will be on the level before. The time you spend in each room is saved, so if you re-enter a level, it will not reset, and instead keep whatever setting it had when you left. Ten. Nine. Eight."
Discord looked very unsure of himself now. The walls were gone, but he hadn't started running. He couldn't teleport, he couldn't protect himself, and he couldn't see through the solid lead walls. He had nothing on his side, and just by the thought, he started sweating.
"Three. Two. One. Starting Heat. Go." The speaker was suddenly gone, and Discord needed no other words. He rushed off in the maze, trying his beast to get to the end before he met his end.
Five minutes later.
'Okay Discord, you can't tell if you've made progress, but you can do this! Man is it getting hot in here... but that doesn't matter! You are the immortal deity of chaos, nothing can beat you besides the elements of harmony, and they aren't here... oh I hope they don't find my body next to Codes and use the elements on me then... but I can't let this thing beat me!'
Ten minutes later.
'Oh crap it's getting to hot! It's like a thousand degrees in here!'
Reading his thoughts, a speaker came down from the ceiling further from him and yelled as he was passing, "Temperature reaching one thousand degrees Celsius. Accelerating heat."
'No no no no NO! I can't lose! I will not allow it!'
Fifteen minutes later.
"Okay okay, I can't take it anymore! The heat is to much! I think any more time and I might melt! I surrender!" As soon as he uttered the last word, he was launched backwards, and he saw that as the maze broke down, he was about to turn and face the starting door. He didn't have any time to think as he was thrown out of Codes mind and back into his own body, feeling a knock back of 10 feet, and landing on his butt.
Discord looked up at the cyborg in fear, not experiencing anything like that before in his long long life. The draconequus was panting with wide eyes full of terror. "Wha... what a-are you?" He weakly asked.
Code looked down at him with his cold metal eyes and frowned. His face a solid expression of disappointment. "From your bragging I would have hoped you could have breached the first of many trials. Looks like I was wrong. From what I am, I am Code. A self created cyborg. I am immortal in my own way, ageless and able to rebuild myself if I die. You are a weak deity of chaos, one whose power I can surpass. You do not deserve the satisfaction of attention. Now STAND UP!" Code yelled. Discord flinched and slowly got up to his mis-matched legs.
Code sent out his nanobots and cut all the connections of magic, effectively fixing anything he did with it. Code looked behind him and saw the Elements of Harmony galloping there way up to the both of them, library behind them. Code nodded and looked to Discord. "Turn around and face your fate." He turned around to see the Elements of Harmony standing there with smiles on their faces. After what seemed to be a short but annoying speech on friendship, they lifted in the air, striking Discord with a rainbow of harmony. Code scanned the magic and found it to be the purest of all things he had ever seen. He smiled to himself, feeling good from the connection with the rainbow.
Discord noticed the stone creeping up from his feet and through his body, and with a shocked expression on his face, he tried to avoid it as much as he could. "Noooooooo! Please! Don't do this again! I don't want to go through that again!" Code felt a sadness from hearing this and with a quick motion nullified the magic from the Elements. Discord was left standing there, almost fully encased in stone, only things able to move were his head.
The ponies using the Elements floated back down to the ground and opened their eyes, fully expecting to see a stone statue of Discord. When they saw everything but his head encased they gasped and scrambled between themselves, Code and Discord sharing a chuckle at it. Putting a serious face on, Code turned to Discord, who stopped laughing when seeing the cyborg.
Code looked at the draconequus and found his magic supply. Putting a trapping field around it he broke the stone around him. Without his magic, Discord should be harmless, Code surmised. "You have been stripped of your abilities until you can learn to control them. You will be given one chance and as your soul purifies of the corruption you have obtained, and not a moment sooner. I hope this is not a mistake." Discord was on his knees from the experience of the almost full stoning. He panted again and noticed his lack of magic.
"*pant* *pant* Even though... you took my magic, *pant* I still have to thank you, *pant* for freeing me." He said, all confidence gone from his voice. Code nodded and smiled at Discord, turning around to see the Elements trying to get together again.
"*ahem*" Code coughed and got the girls attention. "You will not use the Elements on Discord again. He has been blocked off from his magic by me and will not get it back until he is pure again. There is nothing to fear from him anymore, but he needs to have friends to be able to be good again. I leave this task with you, but if you are antagonizing him, you will feel my wrath. This goes the other way around, Discord." The draconequus' smirk turned to a scared look as he remembered the maze.
The Elements were confused by the wrath statement, some thinking they could take them, namely Rainbow, and some just taking his word for it, namely the other five. Code nodded and walked off to his bunker, but was stopped by Twilight.
"What exactly did you do to him..?" She asked cautiously. Code turned and looked down to face her, and suggested it for a second.
"I won't give you the nightmares, and I don't trust you enough yet to let you know." He blatantly said to her.
"Well then, we're going to have to fix that sooner or later, mark my words, you will be our friend soon enough!" She confidently stated, looking to the sky. By this time, Code could sense a being getting close, a very powerful one, and decided he was done here. With this, he teleported to his bunker and walked inside, ready to scan the new information and progress in the research center.
Code was having a lot of fun with his new magic training center. The walls had been made to absorb everything made by magic so they wouldn't be destroyed by it and it was far enough underground to me made tall enough and wide enough for any spell that he thought possible. He had just finished mastering the meteor rain spell before he was interrupted by a loud banging from above. Knowing that the door was there, he teleported up through his shield in front of the door, ready to greet his guests. What he saw almost made him burst out laughing right there, but he stopped himself before it was to late.
In front of him was an annoyed white alicorn, five white unicorns and five white pegasi, the latter two decked in armor and spears raised. After noticing the terrified and petrified form of Discord behind the group, his blank face turned into a frown. He connected his mind to the stone draconequus and asked him how he got there again. He just whimpered and said ask Celestia, which Code assumed to be the alicorn. Well, bright side was that he got to meet one of the rulers. To bad he was annoyed that he got interrupted, had spears raised at him, and realized they ignored what he said to the Elements, probably by command of the alicorn.
At this point Code was scowling. It only took a second with that little form of revelations, and was already formulating the perfect response.
"What." He said, as he crossed his arms.
"Do not speak with such disrespect to the princess!" With this, the two guards in front pushed their spears closer, both in a magical grip. Code rolled his eyes and placed two fingers on each tip and melted them, burning the wood out of their grip.
"Answer before I go back in and ignore you. You aren't exactly making the best impression of people I care about. The only reason I'm still here is because you ignored what I said earlier about trying to reform Discord." Code said. After a second, he added, "Oh, and keep racism out of this or I swear I will punch you in the face, Celestia."
She didn't even bat an eye. "I would first like to formally greet you to Equestria in hopes you come in peace." Code just made a zapping sound from his fingers as his arms were crossed at this. "And I would like to ask you, why did you spare Discord."
"Because he was broken by the trauma from trying to get past my mental barriers and I already blocked his magic to an extent where only I could release. Some of it is already gone, I see. Seems he is getting rid of the corruption quick. What I want to know is why you petrified a defenseless creature."
"You know he wasn't defenseless, he was the greatest threat in Equestrian history."
"Was. You should have seen his blocks if you are as powerful as you say you are."
"Yes, I did, but they were already diminishing while he was talking to my student and her friends. He was breaking them."
"Well of course he was. If he was having a conversation with the Elements than he was already breaking the corruption over him. The blocks were designed to diminish until he fully broke himself of the evils over his mind."
To this Celestia looked at the statue like she had made a mistake before shaking her head and looking back at Code with a stern look. "It was still not in your jurisdiction to make that decision. It was mine."
"I think you mean ours, and I don't care. I knew you hated him from the start and if you were left to make that decision it would have been biased. The entire race can be considered this, hell, the entire planet could. He served one thousand years perfectly conscious. I think that was enough. I am the only one who wasn't biased in decision, making it in my jurisdiction. I read your law books."
"You dare accuse the princess of that? You should be punished now." The guards that still had spears all raised them at this, and Code did the same to them. Now weaponless, the guards got back down on the ground with a glare at Code.
Celestia look at Code in annoyance, not liking what was happening here. "You are not even a citizen of Equestria. You can't do what you did."
"It isn't Equestrias decision, it is the planets. You are the only one who still thinks he deserves stoning, and that is most likely on a personal level. I took it in my own hands because not only have the other species no even acknowledged this event, but your nation is unfit to judge him. I'm done with this. Discord, get out of the stone." With this, Code's nanobot swarm flied over to Discord at an alarming speed and broke down the stone outside the draconequus in mere seconds. Celestia was stunned at the speed and the display, but tried to charge her horn at Discord.
The swarm quickly went over to Celestia and built the stone on her horn before she could do anything. Code nodded at this, not wanting a fight to break out. He was glad he recently moved the technology from the magic testing room to his metal exterior. Discord looked a bit thankful but a bit scared at Code while Celestia tried again and again to use magic from her horn, failing every time.
Discord walked to Codes side, oddly trusting him more than Celestia. The mare in question look at Code with an angry face asking simply, "What did you do."
"I freed Discord again without his powers, besides the ones he earned back, and stoned your magic supply until you promise on your power for a year that you will not attack either of us. Not risking it anymore. Also, Discord, you can go back into town if you want, none of the Elements agreed with Celestia on her decision to petrify you again."
"Well then. Thank you Code, I guess, and I hope this goes well enough. I am taking you up on the offer of leaving, as an angry Celestia isn't very happy to be around. Ta-ta!" With this, Discord teleported back to town, Celestia's glare still locked on Code.
She made the promise and Code broke the stone from her horn, leaving it useless for a good half hour before Celestia just left without a word, teleporting her and her guards back to the capitol. Still haven't found where that is yet, but Code honestly didn't care enough to find out. He teleported back into his magic training room and got back to elementals part two: Combining magics. He rubbed his hands together and got to work on storm spells.
