"B..But I didn't d.. I didn't do anything!" Scootaloo cried as Iron Cast grabbed her by the arm and slammed her against the wall.

"I FUCKING told you a million and one mother-FUCKING times, pissing the bed is going to start getting painful for you!" He twisted her arm so that she couldn't move her fingers, and for a second was afraid he broke it.

"It's not my-" He cut her off with a punch to the ribs.

"The FUCK it isn't your fault! Whose is it then? Mine? Is it my fault?!" He threw her to the ground. "Go ahead, say it to my face. Tell me that your DISGUSTING habit of pissing the bed is all my fault, and I'll stop hitting you."

Scootaloo looked up at him tearfully, her lip trembling. "I..". She hung her head in shame, unable to perform the simple tast that could save her from the beating currently taking place.

"That's what I thought, you disgusting worm" He spit on her, then kicked her in the side. "You little pussy."

With that, he left her to cry alone again, as he always did after beating her. And that's what she did. She cried.

"Well, kid, it's not much, but it's home" Rainbow was showing Scootaloo around her apartment. It was sparsely decorated, had two bedrooms, a kitchen, a bathroom and a living room. "About the whole bed situation.. I don't have one for you. So you're gonna sleep on my bed, and I'm gonna sleep out here on the couch. For now. I don't have real food, really.. but feel free to eat whenever you want without asking. Unless you need help. Ask then. I have like, Ramen noodles, frozen pizza, that kinda thing."

"That's fine" Scootaloo said. "At the.. at.. when I was at the foster home, I rarely ate at all.. when I did it was cheap takeout. My only constant meal was lunch at school, but then there were always weekends and breaks..."

"Don't worry. You will never be starved around here. If you don't like what I have, we can always go to a reasturaunt or something" Rainbow dash realized that the food she had in the house currently was not healthy for her, let alone a growing child.

"No problem. Hey, Rainbow Dash.. earlier when I got in your apartment, and you said there were skunks in the attic, and that's why the apartment smells like this?"

"Yeah?"

"..I'm old enough to know the difference between skunk and marijuana." Scootaloo felt extremely guilty for having to say this, Rainbow Dash was giving her a home and food and here she was pointing out the one flaw.

"Oh.. well.. I was planning on quitting anyway, now that I got a child to take care of and all..."

"It's fine, Rainbow Dash, it's fine.. so, how long do I get to stay with you?"

"Until I can find you a new home, unless.." Rainbow wasn't sure how to say what she was thinking.

"Unless what, Rainbow?"

"Well, you know.. unless you wanted me to uh.. like, adopt you or something.. I mean.. that'd be cool..."

"Really? You'd adopt me?!" Scootaloo was overjoyed at this.

"Well, I always wanted to raise a kid.. but I don't really like babies.. too much work for me. But you're past the baby stage, long past it, and I think I'd like to raise you until you turn 18. I feel a really strong bond with you..." Her voice trailed off. She was tempted to say 'Because we're both orphans', but decided against it. There were plenty of reasons she felt connected with Scootaloo.
