Father

Twilight sat comfortably on the plastic chair at the waiting room. She looked around the room to notice the interesting art on the walls and noticed one particular picture that had a stallion and his foal smiling happily at the park. Twilight was a bit tired from waking at such an early hour but, it was worth it to be able to volunteer for a new science. She picked up a magazine from the basket and began to read through the Mare-a-thon Monthly that showcased different stylised mares all clothed and modeling differently each page. Twilight began to wonder to herself if she could be a model and would blush from the idea of such a thing.

It would be interesting, maybe I can talk to Princess Celestia about it...

The high ring of a bell sounded across the room and it made Twilight Sparkle return the magazine to its proper place. Twilight clampered out from the chair and trotted to the receptionist. Twilight could tell that she was white with ruby eyes and had a yellow and black curly mane. She continued to look at the receptionist to notice how bored and tired she was. It made Twilight feel that being a receptionist must have been a bore.

The Receptionist looked upon Twilight Sparkle and began to sign some paperwork before handing it all over to her.

"Take this to the Scientist that is prescribed on the paper and she will take your blood and yada-yada...."

"Alright Thanks!" said Twilight Sparkle. Her face filled with excitement and joy. "Have a good day!"

"Yea sure." said The Receptionist.

Twilight went through the white door right next to the receptionist and noticed the many glass windows that had workstations and science ponies working behind it. She also noticed one storage like machine that was holding many blood samples and saw the blood cartridge get taken from one of the ponies in the room. Many of the lab ponies had white coats with some wearing glasses and some not. Twilight sure wanted to use those interesting machines but, that would be for another time. Twilight continued through the hallway until she made it to the white door with the code Inb4 on it. She opened the door to be greeted by a green and red straight maned unicorn with a blue body and a cutie mark of a syringe.

"Well hi there missy! You must be Twilight Sparkle! You ready to get all dem interesting facts about yourself?"

"Yes Ma'm! I am so ready to do this! Uh, does it hurt alot when you extract?" said Twilight Sparkle.

"Why it's only gonna pinch a bit, But, other than that its perfectly painless." said The Scientist.

"Well... if you say so.."

Twilight Sparkle trotted to the metal seat and sat there comfortably. The Scientist grabbed a needle from her desk magically and a cloth filled with liquid and slobbed it on to Twilight's arm. She inserted the metal needle into her arm, the pain tinged right through Twilight's head for a quick second. Twilight grimaced until she felt the needle drain her of her blood. The Scientist removed the needle and set it on a container for later scanning.

"Alright, deary! You come back at night and we will have the results ready for you."

"Okay, thanks!" said Twilight Sparkle.

Twilight left the room and continued out until she left the facility. She continued on her way through Ponyville to meet with Shining Armor for brunch. She finally arrived at the Fancy Schmanzeroo a nice place filled with many rich ponies. The eatery was silver colored in design and had nice decorations of the ocean and the sandy beach. Twilight Sparkle entered the restaurant and was greeted by a hostess who wore a fetching black and white vest. The Hostess guided Twilight to the seat where she met with Shining Armor.

"Twily! You made it." said Shining Armor. His face filled with excitement and joy. "What took you so long?"

"Oh, I was just doing something for science, nothing special." said Twilight Sparkle.

Shining took a look at Twilight to notice the bandage on her arm. His face turned from happiness to worry in ten seconds flat.

"Twily? What exactly did you do?" said Shining Armor.

"Uh, Nothing serious, just a blood check thats all." Twilight put her arm out of sight before regaining her posture. "Seriously, Shining you sound like a parent or something..."

"Well... It's just... your so precious to me and I don't want anything to happen to you..." said Shining Armor.

"Don't fret I can take care of myself. Geez, your acting quite strange today."

"Well... there is something I have been wanting to tell you Twilight..."

"What is it Shining?"

"Well... Me and Cadance are having a foal!" said Shining Armor enthusiastically.

"What!?... "ahem.." I mean thats great news!" Her face faking a smile to the realization. "Wha... What are you going to name her?"

"Me and Cadance were thinking of naming her after her grandfather, so it would be Princess Skylanzia de Vida, or Princess Skyla for short."

"Thats.. Wonderful! I can't wait for you two to have it!" said Twilight. Her face secretly cringing in pain.

"Were having a babyshower and everything! I was wondering if you would like to come?"

"Of course!" said Twilight Sparkle. Her soul crying in sadness and in maelstrom from the horrific news. "I would love to go to the babyshower."

"Thank's Twilight you really are the best!"

That brunch Twilight and Shining enjoyed a meal while sharing the information about the babyshower. It turned out that the babyshower would be at The Crystal Empire. There would be customary Crystal Pony festivities for the celebration of the foal. After eating and conversing about the whole thing, It was nearly time to pay the check and leave.

"Shining, I can not express how happy I am for you." said Twilight Sparkle.

"Yea, I know, but, there was something else I wanted to tell you..."

"What? that you're having a colt as well?"

"No, Twilight, it's been something I have been wanting to tell you for a long time."

Twilight noticed the time and realized she had to get to her appointment to see the results of the blood test.

"Shining can it wait? I have to go it's late."

"Uh, sure."

"All right see you around."

"Yea... bye."

Twilight ran as fast to the Genetics Lab as her legs could take her, she was really interested in finding more information about herself. She arrived an hour earlier before the place closed and went through the white door to meet with the Scientist she met earlier. She knocked on the door with the code Inb4 and was greeted once more by the Science mare.

"Ah! Deary, you made it just in time! Your D.N.A. scans have been recorded, You can find the information on this monitor."

"Great, I can't wait to find more information about myself!"

"Yes, I'll just leave you to it, I am going on break."

"Alright have a good break."

Twilight grabbed a metal chair and pulled up to the monitor. The monitor was bright and it had Twilight's image, along with her blood-type and her birthdate and such. She scoured the information that it displayed after touching the screen. She soon found out that she had a zebra ancestor in her family and that she was also part buffalo in very small genetic percentage. She continued being fascinated by her lineage and her biological status until...
