A Night Out

It was a beautiful cold afternoon over at Sweet Apple Acres, Big Macintosh and Applejack had been bucking the trees in the orchard for so long, they had decided to take some time off and just relax. Not to also mention the fact that their little sister, Applebloom, was starting to grow saddened at the fact that they never had the time they needed to spend with her it was always wasted out in the orchards.

Granny Smith was inside asleep like she always was, while Applebloom was reading a book and drinking a cup of milk. As she was reading through her book, the front door opened it was none other than her sister and brother, her book slid from her hooves onto the floor as she hopped off the couch in excitement, "APPLEJACK!!!!" she screamed and jumping into her hooves.

Applejack chuckled, "Hey sugarcube" she said, Big Macintosh tapped Applebloom, "Hey don't ah' get a hug too?" Applebloom giggled and hugged him as well. "So Applebloom, ya'll lookin' forward ta' tonight?" she asked, Applebloom pretended to not know what she was talking about, "What, what are we doin' tonight?"

"We're going campin' again silly." Applejack said booping her on her nose, Applebloom giggled again. "Are we going up into that mountain again?" she asked. "No, sugarcube, we're going out into the pastures, we're getting away from the city. That way while we're over there, we'll have a more beautiful view of the stars."

Applebloom released herself and went upstairs to pack her bags. Meanwhile Applejack and Big Macintosh were downstairs getting out the tents and their sleeping bags ready. "Ya' know big brother, it sure was nice of Granny to let us do this, we do need a break."

"Eeyup." Was Big Mac's was only response.

"So are we going to the south pasture?"

"Nnope."

"East?"

"Nnope."

"West?" Applejack was starting to lose herself with her guesses. She sighed

"North?"

"Eeyup."

"Finally, ah' guess it right. Ah'm gonna go upstairs and help Applebloom."

Big Macintosh saw her walk upstairs and smiled.

Later that afternoon, they were outside Ponyville, nearing the North pasture. Applejack and Big Macintosh had managed to set up the tent near a big shady oak tree, on the edge of the pasture. Once it was set up, since Princess Celestia's sun was about to set, Applejack started up a campfire, while Big Macintosh got out all the food and drinks, Applebloom was in the tent getting the sleeping bags ready, while hanging the electric lantern on top.

Applejack had managed to lay out their picnic blanket under the sky, which was starting to get dark, but no stars were out yet, because Princess Luna hadn't raised the moon yet. Finally the campfire was burning, the tent was up and ready, and the food and drinks were sitting by the fire.

"Hey Applebloom, toss me a Dr. Pepper." Applejack said, Applebloom walked over to their cooler, opened it, and in it were cans of Coke, Sprite, Pepsi, Mountain Dew, Dasani water, Pepsi, and Dr. Pepper. Applebloom reached for the one that her sister wanted and pulled it out, she got herself a Coke, and got a Pepsi for Big Macintosh.

It was finally dark out, Applejack was sitting on the picnic blanket, with Applebloom in her lap, Big Macintosh was lying down about an inch from Applejack, they were drinking their sodas and lying watching Luna's beautiful nighttime sky. Applejack and Applebloom were using the stars to play Connect the Dots.

"Hey ah' made a spoon." Applebloom said

"Ah' made a flower." Applejack said

"Ah' made a silly face." Big Mac said, showing them a derp face. Applejack and Applebloom laughed, "Big Mac we're using it with the stars." Applejack said.

"I'm just kidding." He said

Meanwhile Applejack's ipod dock started playing "Drunk on You".

"Hey Applejack look, a shooting star!" Applebloom said, pointing her hoof to it, Applejack and Big Macintosh looked up and saw it flying through the nighttime sky. Applejack, Big Macintosh, and Applebloom put their forehooves together and closed their eyes to make a wish.

"Ah' wished for a new hat." Applejack said

"Ah' wished for a galfriend." Big Mac said, he and Applejack then turned to Applebloom, "Hey little sis' what did you wish for?" Applebloom's eyes started filling up with so many tears that she took Applejack's and Big Macintosh's hooves, and said, "Ah' wished that Ma' and Pa' were still here with us." She started crying, Applejack picked her up and held her tightly in her hooves while Big Macintosh patted her on her back.

"Shhh! Shh! it's okay sugarcube, it's okay, we're here." Applejack said in a comforting tone.

After Applebloom calmed down she looked back up to the sky and imagined herself playing with her parents. But Applejack cut her short on her dreaming, because it was getting close to bedtime. "Come on, Applebloom, time fer' bed."

"But Applejack...." she whined

"Applebloom?!"

"But..."

"Applebloom, now!" Big Mac shouted from the tent. Applebloom sighed and said, "Okay." she then yawned and walked towards the tent. Once inside she had already found that Big Mac had taken off his harness and laid it by the door, while Applejack put her hat beside her sleeping bag. Applebloom sat down and proceeded to remove her bow in her head, but suddenly having trouble undoing the knot. Luckily Big Mac helped her with it.

"Ouch, watch it, big brother!" Applebloom said

"Sorry, they have roots." he replied

"Granny always tightens it too hard."

"Yeah, at least Ma' knew how to knot it." Applejack said. Applebloom almost fell into tears again, but fought them back. Applebloom was finally in her sleeping bag, and drifted off to sleep along with her sister and brother, who were fast asleep as well.
