The Aurora Boreallis
The Waves of Light
Load Full StoryNext ChapterI poked my head out of the clouds as I listened to the class lecture from 500 meters above the Canterlot College Castle so I could listen to what the teacher was saying to the students.
"The weather in the sky is known for being created by an individual that makes up our atmosphere. This being is know as the Aurora Boreallis. Now I know that mainly the aurora borealis is result of a solar flare from Celestia's sun , however we call him that because he bends the Earth's magnetic field himself to create it. On top of that, he controls the weather we see in our atmosphere."
The class was amazed and stunned as the teacher showed a couple slides and pictures of my frequent weather events that I've created in the past 2,500 years.
I giggled to myself in glee, admiring their amazed puplis.
I then came up with the craziest idea. I burrowed myself in the cloud I was on, flared my wings open, and readied myself.
I counted down.

" BOOOOOM!!!!!!!!
I took off from the cloud in a massive burst of speed, immediately dissolving the small cloud. A massive ring of bright green and yellow colors emitted from the epicenter of where I took off and expanded out in all directions above the Canterlot castle. Back down at the college, I used my senses of sight and sounds and looked behind me. Through the noise of the sonic boom and the bright colors, I could hear everyone screaming and freaking out in there as they took cover under their desks.
I laughed so hard,
"Oh my god! That was so rich! Perfect timing too! Oh yes.......what the....." .
While still looking behind me, I looked to my left and saw a ring of rainbow colors expand over the horizon, just directly under my ring. I looked up and saw a trail of rainbow streak across the upper troposphere.
I scratched my head while flying at a controllable speed,
"...What the hell was that....." .
I shrugged it off and banked west off into the distance.
I looked down to my left as I flew over high above the Los Manegeles skyline, letting the wind breeze across my face.
"I got to visit that city someday....." .
I was always a big fan of Los Manegeles. However, a certain movie was made that portrayed me as being the city's worst nightmare. It was that movie, The Day After Tomorrow, that made me even more feared by the ponies. I shivered as one of the scenes popped up in my head of "me" destroying Los Manegels with a string of multiples tornadoes.
The very thought of that sent a wave of sadness over my body.
"I'm....not like that though......." .
A tear flew from my face as I felt a sensation of crying coming ahead. I arched myself and flew straight up into the sky at a speed of around 700 mph, creating a regular sonic boom as I left the exosphere, the last layer of the Earth's atmosphere.
I slowly came to a stop so I could take in the quietness of space. I was between the moon and the Earth. I smirked as I looked at the Earth and saw a ring of green and yellow colors expand of Southern Coltafornia.
"Whoops, my bad." .
I looked over to Celestia's sun and saw something shoot out from the edge.
"It's time...." .
My eyes glowed black as I waved my hoof over the Earth. Seven bright white lines formed, two of them emerged from the poles and ran off on the other side of the planet while 5 other lines emerged from the poles and connected on the other side of the planet. I was identifying the newly made magnetic field I created a couple thousand years ago.
I could feel the oncoming solar storm approaching the field. I flew in front of the side of the Earth that was facing the sun and put both hooves in front of me. A massive force pushed against me as the solar made contact. I moved my right hoof up and the first line disconnected and flew over the other side of the earth. I retracted my right hoof and repeated the step. More lines disconnected and flew over me to the other side of the earth.
After ten minutes. The solar storm passed through. I teleported in a quick boom of small flashes and rings and appeared on the other side of the planet. I waved both hooves up and the energy from the solar storm retracted from the outward lines and flew over me, sinking into the Earth's poles. I took a deep breath and let go of my energy as well. As I returned to normal, I looked behind me and saw bright green waves of light over The North And South Pole.
I smiled,
"If only they saw me like this instead....."
I looked over at the moon and gazed at the imprinted image of a unicorn on the face of it, at least that's what it looked like to me.
I could recall a sight a saw when I did this 20 years ago. I was doing my usual thing when I saw something like a twinkle from Equestria above. Then a huge streak flew past me at mach speed. The thing almost ran into me as it shot past me and flew straight into the moon. The moon then created waves of deep craters that formed across the face of the massive rock and settled. It then occurred to me that whatever impacted the moon, created a huge picture of some unicorn. As that memory faded away, I gave on last weird look to the moon and took off, nose diving into the Earth's atmosphere.
